Ahhhhh! I can’t believe a I wrote this! I can’t believe I made myself cry so much in this story. Gods I didn’t realize how attached a writer can be so fucking attached to his characters.

However, my username isn’t “killemall123” without reason.

“Defend yourself, human!" Sasha shouted as she spat flames at James.

James shot a magical pulse, repelling the flame.

Sasha roared as she leaped at James with her wicked, rapturous claws. Her foreclaws were covered in ball lightning.

James sent a physical pulse, which sent Sasha flying backwards. Sasha landed on her back, revealing her belly. James then conjured a spear covered in flame and as soon as Sasha landed, James used a magical pulse to launch the spear with incredible speed. Sasha turned her scales to stone. The spear made contact with her chest. Her stone covered scales absorbed the impact from the spear and the spear fell harmlessly to the ground.

“My turn", Sasha shouted. Sasha made sharp spikes made of rock come from the ground, the stone like spines came from the ground and towards James at a high rate of speed.

James raised a stone from the ground, blocking Sasha's aggressive stone spell.

“With elements, earth is indeed the strongest. It's impervious to fire… Air and water takes thousand of years to erode it. If you fight using elements, earth is the most useful in open combat. Earth spells are best counteracted with another earth spell, as you just did", Sasha said.

“Thanks for the tip", James said as he vanished.

Sasha's eyes widened. Naturally, she can still see those who are cloaked. James did not use a cloaking spell. She herself was astonished by James's learning capabilities.

Sasha roared as she felt pinned. Sasha looked to see herself coiled in a giant serpent's coils.

The Serpent's head came close to her face.

“Gotcha!" James said…

James's blue serpentine eyes turned gold.

Sasha tried casting a spell. She realized she could not do it. James blocked Sasha's ability to use magic.

“Ya… You", Sasha said, then she sighed in defeat.

“What? Did the human get your tongue? Speak, dragon", Sasha was awe struck… James's newfound abilities… He truly was more powerful than she anticipated... At least in magic.

Sasha spat flames at James's head in defiance.

In retaliation, James coiled his tail around Sasha's snout, and turned her snout away from his face.

“No! Bad dragon", James teasingly said.

“Oh stop teasing me and finish the fight so we can get it over with", Sasha said to James through thought.

“Finish the fight? But I'd hurt you! I can't do it", James said

“In this spirit travel, in the land of the dead, one of us must finish the other in order for us to return to our bodies. This is how it works. This is required to undo the spell I used to get us to this part of the land of the dead. In this segment of the land, one sorcerer must finish the other. That's how sorcerer training works", Sasha said in thought.

“Even though I know we both will wake up unharmed, I can't… It's just", James said.

“You must", Sasha said in thought.

James uncoiled Sasha and shapeshifted back to his human form.

“I can't", James said…

“So you tease me, wound my pride by actually beating me, and cannot finish me off? It's not like I'm actually going to die", Sasha said.

“It's the thought of doing a so-called deadly blow to you. The act troubles me regardless of that fact, James said.

“You already threw a spear at me. What if I didn't stop it? It's something else", Sasha said.

As a titanoboa, I'd have to squeeze you or break your neck. That's just too personal… You know… Feeling your bones break, or your neck snapping… I can't do that". James exclaimed as he immagined doing that to his mate.

James's words struck a chord in Sasha's heart.

“You know… You wake up feeling the pain. It's like a ghostly pain. Have you ever been attacked in a dream and woke up with a sensation of being wounded?" Sasha asked.

“Yes, and it further encourages me not to do it to you", James said.

“You're such a gentleman. I love you, human. But it must happen to one of us", Sasha said.

“I can handle it", James said.

Sasha opened her mouth and placed her maw over James's head, preparing to give James a powerful bite.

Sasha then raised her maw off of him and closed her jaws.

“Now you made it hard for me to do it to you. Thanks for making this more difficult", Sasha said with an annoyed look.

“Oh just hit me with your tail so we can get it over with. A bite is too personal, thats why it's hard for you. But a strike is less personal", James said.

Sasha cocked her tail back and struck James in the head with her mace-like tailend.

Sasha woke up. James was snoring in her throat.

“You learn quick, James", Sasha thought to herself.

Sasha regurgitated James. “I won!" James said.

James winced and clutched his head between his hands.

“Just give it a few seconds. It'll pass right about…

Wait… ok, riiiiggghhhttt… Now!" Sasha said.

James vanished and Sasha had a look of confusion on her face. A few seconds passed and Sasha realized James is up to something.

“Boo!" James shouted behind Sasha in his serpent form.

Sasha roared in surprise and leaped back, putting distance between herself and James.

James went back to his natural human form laughing.

“That wasn't funny", Sasha mumbled with an annoyed look.

“You're no fun. It was very funny", James said.

Sasha opened her mouth, but didn't speak.

She knew it was funny… But she couldn't admit to it. James wounded her ego twice. Once in the land of the dead and another time with his prank.

“Fine, continue wounding my pride", Sasha said as she gave James a toothy grin.

“Shit, ok… I'll stop", James conceded… Not wanting Sasha to get sore at him.

James's magical abilities definately exceeded Sasha's expectations. However, James has one weakness. The threat of him being separated from Sasha's sensual place underneath her tail. That is a privilege too valuable for him to lose.

That kind of magic, James could never live without.

Sasha's stomach growled.

Sasha looked at James… “Guess I need some food. Gael and Solas Na Gieli will need to eat as well", Sasha said.

“How about I take them out for breakfast. I'm sure they'd enjoy time out in the city", James said.

Sasha thought about it… She hasn't had much time for herself lately. Between James's recent problems, being a clan leader, and having offspring. It's true she spent all of her time for everyone else. Yet had no time to herself. Hunting just for herself seemed to be a nice change of pace.

“I like the idea", Sasha said.

“I thought you would. You've earned it", James said.

Sasha thought about the dwarf assassin from that night in their cave.

“What if another assassin came? Could she… Should she leave James alone? It's true he's very capable of defending himself now. But two watching each other is better than one looking out for themselves", Sasha thought. Sasha let out a sigh.

“No… With assassins out for our heads, I do not think it's wise. We really cannot afford to let our guard down. It's best if we all go into town for breakfast. And last night, before I fell asleep, Alenia dropped off these for you", Sasha said as she pointed at a barley sac.

James walked over to the sac. He picked up the large sac, and found his rifle, revolver, armor, and ammunition in it.

James sighed… “with magic, these things aren't as useful as they once where", James said.

“Well, with your shell Shock cured, I don't see an issue having multiple means of self defense. And our enemies being assassins, danger could come out any moment. Now is a time to be careful", Sasha said.

James put his gun belt on and loaded the revolver. He also grabbed extra rounds… Just in case.

“Let's get the kids up. Let them know we are going out for breakfast", James said.

“I'll wake them up now. Bring your rifle too", Sasha said.

“My rifle?" James asked.

“I think we can't be too careful", Sasha said.

“In that case, maybe we should order our food and bring it back here", James said.

Sasha nodded her head in agreement.

“I just have a sense something is coming. That's why I want you so heavily armed", Sasha said.

“Then let them sleep. You and I will go", James said.

“I won't leave the little ones unattended", Sasha said.

“Follow me to the entrance", James said.

James and Sasha were at the entrance. James casted a spell. “Try and go through it", James said.

Sasha tried to walk through. She felt like she walked into a wall.

“Huh"? Sasha said. Sasha then pressed harder against the invisible force, trying to go outside of the cave. James drew his revolver and shot at the invisible force, making Sasha's head turn towards him quickly. James picked up the projectile off the ground and raised an eyebrow at her.

“You fired it in the cave"… Sasha said with a scowling look.

“No one can come in or out. No weapons can pierce it either. They're safe", James said.

James lifted the spell and walked through the cave entrance. James then motioned for Sasha to come out.

Sasha walked through the entrance. James casted his spell over the entrance.

“The little ones are secure. They can't get out, and no one can get in. Lets get some food. I'm starving", James said.

James and Sasha walked down Main Street. Businesses and restaurants where open, many elves, dwarves, and dragons where walking in the busy street. James went to one restaurant and ordered a breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, cheese, and potato.

On the opposite side, Sasha ordered a deer carcass and a canister of blood.

About twenty minutes passed by and they met up at Main Street and began their way back to the cave.

“Hold this James, be careful not to spill it", Sasha said.

“What is it?" James asked.

“Human blood. I love the flavor it brings to the deer carcass. The little ones love the taste as well", Sasha plainly stated.

“You're lying", James said as he opened the canister. Immediately the smell of blood hit his nose.

James's face turned white as a ghost.

Sasha laughed…

“I had to get you back for scaring me when you where a giant snake. That look of yours was priceless. It's blood from a stag. There is no need to worry", Sasha said.

“Not funny", James said.

“Oh come on. It was very funny", Sasha retorted.

James thought about it.

“It was… A little funny… In a dark way", James admitted.

Gunfire can be heard in the distance. Moments later, the alarm rang. James and Sasha looked to the west, where the gunfire sounded. Sasha dropped the stag carcass, hastily bit on James's shirt and set him on her back, and flew for the cave.

“Get your armor! Quickly!" Sasha said.

“Mom! What's going on!" Gael asked.

“Get your sister and stay with your mother", James said.

James quickly cinched the straps of his armor, making it snug against his torso. He pulled a magazine from a leather pouch, inserted the magazine into the magazine well of the rifle and chambered a round into the rifle. Gunfire can still be heard in the distance.

“You need to get the defenseless to safety. That was Alestir's Job", James said.

“What are you going to do?" Sasha asked.

“Whatever Alenia orders. She's the captain of the guard", James said. James took off running westbound in an attempt to find Alenia.

Gunfire could be heard from the west as well as southwest. James turned left on creek road, running through a residential area for smaller folk. Some of the small folk where running north bound away from the gunfire. James saw a few bodies drop as gunfire rang through the street. James tried to get a target in his sights, but the crowd of small folk was too thick. He couldn't safely fire his weapon. The gunshots got closer. Even more gunfire can be heard. James saw a group of dwarves shooting at the crowd. James fired on them. Several have been hit and fell to the ground.

James disappeared and ran across the street, seeking better cover.

“Search for James!" One of the dwarves said.

James came out of cover and shot a magical pulse at the group of dwarves. They flew in the air and hit the building behind them. James fired at them with his rifle, holding the trigger down as the rifle provided full auto fire at them. All of them have been hit and succumbed to their wounds. James reloaded his rifle. James then made his way continuing south.

Sasha and the other clan leaders began rounding up the defenseless as an assault was on the clan.

A whistling noise could be heard. A large projectile struck a building, and the building fell to its side.

Sasha ran towards the building, “Hello! Anyone inside!" Sasha shouted.

“Help us! Please! Several voices screamed.

Sasha began moving large chunks of rubble. Another whistling noise was heard. Instinctively, Sasha moved away from the rubble. Another large projectile struck the rubble. Sasha covered her eyes with a wing, shielding her face from the flying debris. Sasha then continued searching for those in the fallen building. After several minutes later, there where

James turned on willow creek lane. He saw Alenia taking cover from gunfire. The soldiers laid suppressing fire on her. All she could do is. Take cover. James vanished, and made his way towards Alenia's assailants.

A loud whistling noise was heard. Less than a moment later, a large projectile struck the ground ten yards away from Alenia.

A werewolf with her tried to shoot at the enemy. As he fired with his head sticking out of the building's cover, a round struck him in the head and the werewolf fell lifeless, with a canoe shaped wound through his head.

James casted the same spell Sasha used on him earlier in training. The spell to sendsharp spikes made out of stone coming from the ground. James casted the spell and stone spikes immediately came from the ground, impaling the enemy soldiers. James ran to Alenia.

“Let's get out of here! We are outnumbered and outgunned! James screamed.

More soldiers came… James had a small ball of fire in his right hand. He threw it at the enemy reinforcements. The ball of fire became larger as it flew through the air. The fire ball hit the soldiers with explosive force, killing the group immediately.

“Are you deaf! Lets go! Go!" James screamed as he leaped on Alenia's back.

Alenia stood there, not responding to James as she scanned her surroundings. James kicked Alenia's sides with his heels, as if Alenia was a horse.

“Fly! Goddamn it!" James screamed as he repeatedly kicked Alenia's sides.

A loud whistle noise struck James's ears.

James drew his revolver and shot it at Alenia's right front foot.

Alenia finally took off flying.

A large projectile landed right where both James and Alenia were.

“I wouldn't have told you to move if I didn't think it was clear to move! What's the matter with you!" James screamed angrily.

“Sorry", Alenia said with a heart heavy voice.

“You nearly got us killed!" James said.

As Alenia flew for the keep, James noticed a look of sadness on her face. James took a deep breath.

“It's ok, Alenia… We'll get through this… We always do", James said as he patted her shoulder.

Several dwarves Saw James and Alenia making for the enterance. As the two passed the gate, the dwarves opened fire.

One round struck Alenia in the shoulder. Alenia roared in pain from the searing hot bullet burying itself in her flesh.

Four more rounds met James's body as their mark. James began screaming but the final bullet hit him in the upper back, causing him to drop to the ground. Alenia spun arround and bit down on James's armor and drug James inside the closing doors of the keep. James convulsed. His body twitched a few more times. James breathed his last breath and life left his eyes as le laid in the pool of his blood.

Sasha gripped her chest, and she collapsed lifeless. Alenia looked at James in horror. She then turned to where Sasha was standing. Sasha laid thirty yards away, lifeless just like James.

James lifted his hands, a familiar ghostly and translucent color of his ethereal body. James saw a knight. This man was dressed in a kilt, but also wore a helmet and chain mail armor with a sword on his right handed side.

“Who are you?" James asked.

“I am an old ancestor of yours. I've come to take you home". The knight replied.

“Where is Sasha?" James asked as he began to become unnerved by the realization she isn't with him.

“Her Ancestors will guide her home with them. You are to come with me", The knight said as he extended a hand.

“I refuse to be without her", James said.

The knight sighed. “Do not make my task harder than it needs to be, boy". The knight said in frustration.

“I want Sasha, it's as simple as that", James said.

Sasha woke up. “What a dream", She said audibly.

She noticed four dragons.

“Pach Eh An, this is no dream", the four said simultaneously.

The bewildered dragon looked at the four dragons.

She then turned her gaze to her own body. She noticed her body was translucent.

“No!" Sasha said in denial.

“Pach Eh An, come with us", the four dragons said.

“Where is James?" Sasha said.

“James is safe, his ancestors will guide him to his kin. Just as we will guide you to your kin", the four dragons said.

“I'm not going anywhere. Not without James", Sasha said.

James conjured a sword. “I'm not going anywhere without Sasha!"James screamed at the knight. With an audible sigh, the knight drew his blade.

“Do not test the hand of fate. You fight me, you will be doomed to wander through your world. No food, no drink, no home, and no rest. You'll be alone", the knight said. “With my parents… Among you, there is no peace… No rest for me there", James said. James then charged at the knight.

The four dragons walked closer to Sasha.

“Pach Eh An, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way. However, you are coming with us", the four dragons said.

Sasha set herself on fire with blackened eyes.

“Not without James", Sasha said as she growled.

“The human failed. He was supposed to do everything to ensure his own safety, your safety, and your offspring's safety. While we grieve this failure as much as you'll grieve being separated, you'll be going where dragons go in the land of the dead. James will go where humans go. This is how things are done, and this is how things remain", the four dragons said.

Once again, James was in a dance of war. This time it was with one of his own kin. A distant relative who's name he didn't know. After a series of defensively blocking blows from his opponent, the ancient man struck James in the shoulder.

James backed away from his opponent screaming.

“You're not quite skilled enough with a blade to beat me, boy". The man said.

James retaliated by turning to his magical power and he shot a lightning bolt at his opponent.

The man flew backwards and landed on the ground.

The man got up and laughed. “So, you're a sorcerer. That really is quite quaint", the man said. James's rage boiled through his ethereal body, He shapeshifted into a dragon and roared at the man. In blind rage, James charged his opponent.

His opponent shot a pulse of energy so strong, it sent James flying backwards. In mid air James regained his equilibrium and flew away in retreat, only to fly back towards his opponent.

“Ancestors, please… I want my mate. We both fought and died bravely for the sake of our species", Sasha pleaded as she changed her tune from combative to an attempt to reason. She knew she did not have all the knowledge her ancestors had. She knew she herself could not fight them and win.

“Knowing James, I am sure he's in combat with one of his own. He would not dare go where his parents are. He despises his own bloodline. If he is in combat with them, they"… Sasha paused

“They may leave him as a wanderer. Did you not say be had both your love and respect?" Sasha asked.

The four dragons paused and mulled over Sasha's words.

“It'd be foolish of James to combat an ancestor of his. We cannot respect the folly, Sasha.

“He will do the most reckless of things to stay with me. To him, you can't call it folly. He once was willing to sacrifice his own soul for me when the Morrigan tested his love for me. With that in mind, is it folly? Or is it love?" Sasha asked.

“Unfortunately, we among you do not know such emotion. A human's perspective of it is far different from our kind", The four dragons said.

“James has a love so deep for me, he was willing to sacrifice his own existence. The Morrigan reached for my soul, James stepped in and she took his. For my sake, James sacrificed his very existence. Though we both would perish, James placed himself in the cruel goddess's grip to spare my soul. It even made the Morrigan merciful in us both. Is a human like that not worth taking with you?" Sasha said.

James leaped on top of the knight. With a feral rage, he tore at the man's body with his claws, and breathed fire at the knight's helmet. He then slapped the knight and the knight was sent through the air.

To James's suprise, the knight vanished. James was left alone, figuring it's a trick. After all, this wasn't his first battle in the spirit world. James noticed something behind him.

James turned to see a cloaked man this time.

James spewed fire at the man. The flames just passed through him with no effect. A look of both shock and fear fell on James's face. James shapeshifted back to his human form.

“Who… What the fuck are you?" James asked.

The cloaked man remained silent. For several moments, James' nerves began to become unnerved each passing moment of the silence.

“I am of the Fir Bolg. Your most ancient of ancestors, James. I've come to take you to your final destination. You cannot fight me… You cannot harm me, or make me surrender. My powers are far greater than yours", the man said. James screamed in anger and shot a pulse of energy at the fir Bolg. The pulse was so strong it sent both flying away from each other.

James grunted as he tried to stand. “The Tuatha De Dannan defeated you. They wiped your race off the map of Isle! How can your blood flow through me?" James asked. The fir bolg have survived, and you now are to join us", the fir bolg replied.

The fir bolg walked towards James. James shot lighting, fire, and magic spears he conjured at the fir bolg. All of which had no effect to him. As a final resort, James shapeshifted into a dragon and flew away from the fight, realizing the being was impervious to magic. James felt a powerful force press himself to the ground and he couldn't move.

James growled in frustration. Feeling his very being swell with anger and spite. The fir bolg lifted his hand and James found his shape shifting back to a human against his will.

“No! You cocksucking bastard! Sasha! Help!" James screamed in desperation.

The fir bolg picked James up and threw the paralyzed human over his shoulder. James began to cry, fearing he'd never see Sasha again.

The fir bolg noticed James weeping.

With a loud sigh he said. “We have great halls, all the meat you can eat and the mead you can drink.

We party with eachother and boast of our deeds in life. It's always summer there, and winter never comes. Why would you mourn over that, boy?" The fir bolg said.

“No amount of meat can block my vision of Sasha.

No amount of drink can drown my memory of her.

You might as well leave me to wander. Sasha may be beyond my reach, but least I still can watch over my kids in spirit. Watch them grow", James said in sob.

Four dragons watched the fir bolg and James hanging over his shoulder. “We heard that… We didn't have an understanding of why you humans can be so desperate, so willing to do the most insane things for those you love. James looked over his shoulder and saw four familiar dragons. “We have to admit, we are impressed", the four said simultaneously.

“Wha… What?" James said, still sobbing as he looked at them in disbelief.

“Fir Bolg, the human can come with us. We gladly take him in our company. There, he can be with the one he loves", Sasha's ancestors said. One of them extended a fore foot reaching out for James.

“You'd have to get through me to take one of my blood", the fir bolg said.

“Do you really think you could fight the Draig Tiene? Four of them? I doubt you could. You're outnumbered". James said, still trying to wipe tears and snot off his face. The Fir Bolg paused… Thinking to himself.

“Let James rest where his mate can rest. There's no rest for him with you", the four said.

“Put me down! Now! James screamed as his patience grew thin.

“You seriously didn't breed with a dragon, did you? Sasha… She's a dragon?" The Fir Bolg said with a seemingly disgusted tone.

“Go scaly, need it daily", James said as he shrugged his shoulders.

“That's disgusting", the fir bolg said.

“Have you never considered the perks of mating a dragon? Their long tongues? Thick thighs? I like big booty… Not to mention the storage pouch in their throat messaging your body from the neck down? They can pounce on you and fuck your brains out in pleasant ways no man could immagine", James said.

The fir bolg placed James on the ground. “Go… There's no room for a dragon fucker in our halls. That was the most repulsive, vile, and unnatural thing I've heard in my life". The fir bolg stated.

James grinned at the fir bolg.

“Immagine the kissing part… That long slimy forked tongue has a slight sour and ashy flavor, but that aside it really is thrilling to share in the act with your predator", James said.

“Enough!" The fir bolg shouted as he returned to his halls.

Sasha's ancestors stared at James in seemingly equal shock as the fir bolg was…

“Oh come on, don't pretend that the four of you didn't know I was a freak", James said.

“Come James, Pach Eh An is waiting for you", the four dragons said. One of them lowered a shoulder for James. James was surprised such a dragon did this for him. This one truly radiated a great power. Far greater than Sasha herself… A look of both intimidation and hesitation fell on his face.

“Get on, James", the dragon bade.

“"We have meat, drink, and halls far more grand than the fir bolg. It's also a land where winter never comes. It's always summer and the forests are thick and teeming with life. And most importantly, your mate will be there with you", the dragon continued. The dragon's voice which James heard was a single feminine voice. Not the voices of the four dragons at the same time. The voice of this dragon… It sounded soothing, and had a near singing sound. As if the voice it self was magic in its purest form. James complied and got on the dragon.

Alenia laid James's body next to Sasha's. Alenia laid down in front of the lifeless bodies.

“Our clan… Our friends… They're all dead", Alenia said as she too broke into tears. Gale and Solas Na Gaeli looked in disbelief at their deceased parents.

“Mom! Dad!" Gale shouted as he ran towards them. Solas Na Gaeli followed behind her brother.

“Mama?" Solas Na Gaeli said, nudging Sasha's head. There was no response.

“Da… Gael said, however the sight of seeing his father laying in blood told him everything he had to know… The metallic smell of his father's blood struck his nose. Solas Na Gaeli walked to Gale's side. She was horrified seeing her father like this.

She screamed and began crying.

“Come on you two, let's get some rest for now. I'll clean them up so we can give them a proper memorial", Alenia said to them.

James flew through multiple realms in the land of the dead on one of Sasha's ancestors. They made it to the land of a never ending summer, where winter never comes. They landed, Sasha awaiting their arrival. James immediately leaped off the dragon that carried him and ran to Sasha.

James leaped on her and wrapped his arms around her neck.

“I'm so sorry… I failed". James said crying.

“No… Too many died in that battle. It was inevitable that we had a bullet with our names on it. It just happened to be you who was in the sights of an enemy's rifle. It could have easily been me taking a lethal hit", Sasha said softly, giving James a lick on his cheek.

“What about Gael and Solas Na Gaeli?" James asked.

“They are not here, therefore they need to take it one step at a time. Trust me, they'll be here one day. And for us, it'll feel like we barely missed them", Sasha said.

“I miss them already", James replied.

“James, Sasha… Follow me", the dragon who carried James said.

“Mhuire na Talún?" Sasha asked in amazement.

The dragon nodded her head.

“What does that name mean?" James whispered.

Sasha looked at James. “It means Lady of the Land. She once lived on the surface world. Legend has it, she too liked humans the same way I liked you. Legend had it, she'd give her hand in marriage and in human form if a knight was brave enough to kiss her as a dragon. Some knights attempted the act. But the cowards fled in fear. She's never harmed a single human who wasn't hostile towards her", Sasha said.

“And unfortunately, I never met a knight brave enough. That's enough about me for now. We have a feast for you two. There's so much meat to choose from as well as a huge selection of mead, beers, and liquor, Mhuire na Talún said.

“This can't be real, I can't be dead… Not after all I've been through for the clan… Not after all the battles, only dead leaving my children to a ruined city. I don't deserve an afterlife of merry making. How could I live on forever here knowing what pain and suffering awaits my friends. The traumas my children will carry in their minds. I'm sure at the very least they know their parents are dead. Or worse… They saw my body in the state that was… That there… That's their last memory of me… Lying in my own blood with an exit wound in my chest the size of a grapefruit. And the last memory they had of me alive was me strapping on my armor, running into battle. I never took the chance of hugging them… Telling them that I loved them.

James began mourning the separation from his children. It started with a tear. Then more followed. He tried to keep it in but he felt the pit of his stomach turn as he held in his emotion and it overwhelmed him. James stopped walking, catching Sasha's attention.

Quickly James undone his armor and screamed. James threw off his armor and kicked it.

“That lying sac of shit of a goddess! Morrigan! Where the fuck are you, you lying sac of cum!" You owe both Sasha and I a damn good explanation, you death slut!" James screamed.

“James! What the hell do you think you are doing? Saying such filthy words in front of one of my ancestors!" Sasha screamed.

“Wait Sasha… I think James is on to something. Despite his language, I sense a rightful anger in him", Mhuire na Talún said.

“Follow me, and I'll never let you fall! Those are the words she said. Where are we, Sasha!" James screamed.

Sasha's pupils constricted and she gave a low growl. Her eyes blackened in anger as she too recalled the promise of her goddess. “Lies… All of them", she said.

“I won't be a bitch's bitch… She must pay for this! Agghhh! I want to pluck Babd's feathers and boil her alive! Send her down to the underworld with the Famorians!" James screamed with the anger building in him.

“Good idea, but how? Even with my powers and yours combined. We're no match for her. She's a goddess of magic, death and fate. Both death and fate are her's alone", Sasha said.

“Not if she lied… Sasha, this is a matter your ancestors may back you on. You, James, and us four could easily take her". Mhuire na Talún said.

Sasha growled, feeling the need for vengeance burning in her heart.

“What are we all waiting for. Time is of the essence.

This must be done before our bodies are burried", James said.

Mhuire na Talún nodded. “Yes, I can repair those for you. The other ancestors can guide you in the other forms of magic required to bring you two back to life. James… Sasha… Congratulations, fate would say you two where not meant to die". Mhuire na Talún said.

Later that evening in the land of the dead, a black dragon named Anord sat in a spot at the head of the massive table. Next to his right, James sat on top of the table with his legs crossed, holding his plate. Sasha sat next to James. James stared awkwardly at his plate. The food was never cooked. It was completely made up of an assorted chunks of raw meat.

“It isn't cooked", James said in his thoughts.

Sasha chuckled…

“I forgot to tell them your food should be cooked. It doesn't matter however. Do not eat the food, or drink the mead. The food will ground your spirit here in this plane. The mead will get rid of your desire to go back to your body. If you eat and drink, you're staying here", Sasha said.

“I haven't had mead sense I had it on my birthday in the surface world", a damn shame I can't…

“I'll buy you all the mead you can drink when we are back in the otherworld. In the mean time, do not drink what is infront of you", Sasha said back in thought.

Everyone! Meet Pach Eh An and James. These two are wonderful children of ours. They carried our blood through time, and now we celebrate our journey here. Word has it that Pach Eh An and James where fierce warriors, protecting our established clan! Sasha… It is tradition to tell us your deeds, and how you passed to the realm of our halls" Anord said. Sasha opened her mouth, but no words came out.

“Sasha, we have unfinished business", James said to her in thought, attempting to remind her our business at hand.

Sasha composed herself, and gave a loud sigh.

“I have done so much for my clan before James came into my life. When James came into my life, my deeds where a shared effort with James… My better half, the love of my life, that of which I am truly blessed to have him by my side".

“Here Here!" They all shouted, interrupting Sasha.

“I must tell all of you that James am I died, leaving so much unfinished business. The goddess I loved, and worshiped went back on her word with James and I", Sasha said.

All of Sasha's relatives, her kin, her ancestors growled in displeasure at the fact Sasha was lied to.

“Proceed", Anord said.

“My life was tied to James to save his life from one gunshot wound to the chest. He received that wound on behalf of the clan in battle. I did this because of a promise I made to him. A promise that he'd thrive where I lived. It wasn't only the promise though that compelled me to do such a spell on him… I refused to live a life without him", Sasha said as she came to tears.

“The Morrigan" James said in thought to keep Sasha on track".

“Follow me, and I will never let you fall, the Morrigan said. She is the weirder of fate, she had to be watching the dwarves raid on our clan. A dwarf shot James four times. One of the clan's valiant warriors and my mate fell due to a round hitting him in the back, James laid lifeless in a matter of a few seconds. James and I dies defending our clan. At least what was left of it. Due to his loss of life, I too perished", Sasha said.

“No goddess in their right frame of mind defiles their own name by going back on their word. All of us… All three hundred and twenty one dragons here should meet the Morrigan and make her pay for her treachery.

James, tell us of your deeds". Anord said.

“Maybe I'll lighten the mood of the table… And just speak of deeds… On the surface world, I was an armed night club guard. I'd baby sit drunken humans all night. I was a working class human, had the shittiest appartment in town, and a lazy roommate on top of it all. Though sense things frequently got out of control with a club full of drunks, fights frequently broke out. I love myself a good fist fight".

“Here here! We'll drink to this!" The dragons took a sip of their mead.

“I've fought by Sasha's side when the drow raided, I fought by Sasha's side in the war of the drow. I have damn near slain a dragon named Kailix for making Sasha cry. I then got locked in Jail for it too",

Sasha's ancestors and all her deceased relatives stared at James with skepticism.

“That's a load of shit! A puny human taking a dragon?" One of them shouted.

“Yet you didn't even let me get to the part where I became leader of them all, scaly big mouth!" James shouted.

The entire group roared in laughter, even the dragon, James technically insulted, laughed.

“Until I had to take it from you because you can't read Gaelic", You where only leader for less than a day! Do me a favor and tell them the entire truth. Sure, you took down that leader with your bare hands, but you can't fight a female half his size, my little egomaniac", Sasha said, intentionally leaving the part out where Alestir had that ring on for a fair fight.

All the dragons roared in laughter.

Oh, and I got stabbed by a revanant and fought in the soul fight for two days. Thanks to her four ancestors we've always talked to, Sasha came and saved my ass. But I've been told two days may be a new record", James said.

Anord noticed James wasn't drinking.

“Actually, that is a record no one but you holds. Human… You should drink that mead", Anord said.

James held his head down, looking at the horned mug in sadness… Our fate was stolen by a lie… If I drink this". James paused.

Gale, Solas Na Gaeli… I never lived to see them grow up", James said as he began crying.

Sasha grabbed James.

“James, we were supposed to tell them our intent in a more tactful way", Sasha said in thought.

“There's no way I can keep it in. I miss them. I'd do anything to go back", James said out loud crying. He cried so hard, he went limp, loosing all strength to hold himself up and almost fell off the table. Sasha caught him. Sasha held I'm in her arms, clutching James to her chest. James continued crying.

“James is loyal to his family to a fault. It crushes him to be parted from them", Sasha said, explaining the situation to her ancestors and relatives.

“One cannot live in peace within their afterlife with what James feels… I think we all could agree to that. Give James and Sasha mead that isn't infused with the magik to make them want to stay, I however, am going to talk to Mannan Mac Lir. As big of an asshole he can be, this injustice from the Morrigan will indeed enrage him", Anord said.

“You mean that you intend to get Mac Lir involved?" Sasha asked with hope in her eyes.

Anord sighed… “Yes, I will not see one with James's spirit wind up leaving this realm, becoming lost, then becoming a wandering soul searching for his offspring because of an injustice done against you two. I see it in his eyes. He'll never eat the food and drink the drink here as long as he knows it'll keep him away from them. In order to prevent him from wandering, he must either eat and drink here, or be returned to the otherworld. I feel the later being the best option for both of you", Anord said.

All of Sasha's other ancestors, as well as her relatives nodded their heads in agreement, filling Sasha with even more hope than she previously had.

Another dragon set mugs of mead before Sasha, and gave James the smaller mug.

Sasha set James back on the table.

“This mead is ok to drink. Do drink your fill on it… I plan to as well. This was the roughest mission I myself ever had", Sasha said as she picked up her mug.

“Be merry James, we're going to be back with our offspring before sunrise". Sasha said.

“Mmmhhhh… This mead is beyond otherworldly", James said.

“We are beyond the otherworld… Have you forgotten? Sasha said as she sipped her mead.

“Damn bested by a dragon", James said.

“You know… It's a miracle how I get you out of the messes you get yourself into. You got a lethal wound twice". Sasha said.

“Sorry for getting shot. It pains me how I failed in that", James said.

“I suppose it's still too soon to joke about that. Sorry for rubbing salt on that wound. It's not a failure… You said it yourself. Dodging supersonic bullets isn't exactly possible", Sasha said.

“I thought my own tears got us out". James replied.

“You would be in your ancestral halls instead of mine if it were not for me", Sasha said, taking another sip.

“I'll settle for calling it teamwork", James said as he sipped his.

James, Sasha, and the four ancestors that guided Sasha in life are now at the gates of Mannan Mac Lir.

“I think it's best for your ancestors to do the talking. They're older, wiser… Probably much better at reasoning with the likes of him", James said.

“That's the smartest thing you said all day", Sasha thought back.

The Gates to Mannan Mac Lir's hall opened. Sasha's ancestors as well as Sasha and James entered. The doors closed and they kept walking towards his throne.

“Ah, Pach Eh An… James… So nice to see such a… Unique couple in my halls… This is about the Morrigan isn't it? A direct lie of her's that landed you two in this? Mannan Mac Lir said.

Sasha and James nodded their heads. “Yes it is", they said.

“And is it true both of you wish to return to the otherworld?" Mac Lir asked.

“Yes", James and Sasha said.

“I can grant one of you your wish. Right here… Right now… But on one condition… For the Morrigan's treachery, I must give a task to the one who enters the otherworld and repossesses the body, and the body brought back to life. This of course does come with a quest for the price. Return to me all three heads of the Morrigan.

James motioned for Anord to bring his head closer to him. Anord complied with his motion.

“Three heads for one soul return… I'd decline it…

Three heads for the price of two souls That's our end goal, and Mac Lir still gets three heads", James whispered in his ear.

“Good, tell him James… Anord said.

“Three heads for two souls. One head for both Sasha and I. One as a thank you gift to you. This is a fair offer and still comes more so to your gain", James said.

“Three heads is my price for one soul", Mac Lir said.

“It was both Sasha and I who where robbed by a lie of This goddess. I understand your wish to gain in this affair, and willing to accommodate 3 heads for the price of two. Being a man of fairness, surely you wouldn't rob us both… Two souls gone back, but three heads for you", James said.

Mac Lir was in deep thought, tapping a finger on his chin.

“I'll even mount them on spears for you. I'll do it in your halls… You can be the one to parade them arround", James said. “Make those spears out of oak. Decorate the spear shafts. I require nothing too fancy or expensive. Silver and geodes will do", Mannan Mac Lir said.

James turned to Sasha. Sasha gave James an affirmative nod.

“Done", James said.

Mannan Mac Lir Smiled. He stood up and walked to James. Mannan Mac Lir extended his hand. James griped Mac Lir's hand and shook on the deal.

“My boy, you went from a child… Groveling for happiness as a boy… Now look at you… A man shaking hands with a god, in constant strive for happiness. And you do it on your own. You have an uncanny inner strength in you.

“I can't be who I am without her" James looked at Sasha. “She's my foundation. My structure could never stand without her", James said.

Mannan Mac Lir nodded… Knowing all too well of Pach Eh An.

“The six of you have my blessing… Go… Retrieve those heads for me, Mannan Mac Lir said.

James, Sasha and the four ancestors were in the Clan's keep.

“I must heal the bodies, remove any wounds, and reverse any decay. Mhuire na Talún said as she drew a circle arround the bodies.

“Can the rest of the clan hear us or see the circles?" James asked.

“We are all dead and in ethereal bodies. So, no they cannot. But that doesn't matter for the spell", Mhuire na Talún said.

After several words in Gaelic, James noticed the exit wound on his bodie's chest close. Color began to come back to the skin.

Nothing noticeable came with Sasha's body. Save for the reduction of bloating caused by decay beginning to set in.

“My work is done… James… Sasha… Return to your bodies", Mhuire na Talún said.

Thank you all for what you've done for us. We're deep in your debt", James said.

Mhuire na Talún turned to James. “To preserve a human like you and prevent you from being a wanderer? No… We'd do anything to stop that… And for Sasha… She loves you so much. No one should dare get in the way of that. Now, return… Time is of the essence". Mhuire na Talún said.

James and Sasha returned to their bodies.

James and Sasha opened their eyes, they realized their bodies are fully restored. James sighed in relief, knowing he'd have his family back as a whole soon.

“Hey… Disrobe… I need a snack", Sasha whispered. “I want to sleep with you tonight… I mean… I haven't had any since the battle we died in", James said. Sasha gave a toothy grin.

“People are sleeping, how would they react if they saw a dead dragon and dead human mating with eachother?" Sasha said.

Talk about a hell of an entrance… Or more accurately a reentrance". James said.

“Hmmm… Disrobe… I wish to taste you in my mouth", Sasha said.

“I dare not deny my predator", James said.

Quietly, James took off his armor, and began disrobing.

Sasha opened her mouth and James quickly crawled inside. James sighed as Sasha's tongue coiled around him savored every inch of his body. A familiar, yet precious moment they get to cherish as flesh and blood once again.

“I must stay up, I need to let Alenia to be the first to know what happened. She likes to wake up early. So I'll let you sleep", Sasha said in thought.

“Thank you… I love you… With all my heart", James said in response.

“I love you too", Sasha said in thought.
