this is part of the first book. Daniel is a human that was abducted from Earth in the early 2000s by Kila a cold blooded reptile alien species. left with little options Daniel shows his skill as a computer programmer and gamer and it later recruited by the galactic alliance Kila's species is part of to upgrade their secondary weaponry systems. This of course leads Daniel to be captured by a rogue splinter faction but he suspected as much by his hostile isolation and subtle hints he managed to get with the help of his AI Flash. For over a year Daniel stalled as much as he could on his project before Kila rescued him.
Later in the story they encounter Hanora, Kila's biological niece and daughter of her brother; who died the same day Kila and Daniel met. for almost a full year the information that Hanora's father had died was left unknown due to several battles and records being lost. However Hanora is eventually tossed onto the streets after the academy learns of the fact none are paying for her education and protection anymore. In fear of being captured by slavers she hid for weeks with little food or personal care till she came upon Kila, who reminded Hanora of her brother.
After some trust earning Hanora agrees to work with Daniel, who both felt sorry for her and needed help learning of spacecraft his Earth education would not let him understand. At the time of this segment they are on a prototype new class destroyer ship. Daniel is in an emotional state learning the facts that Kila was engaged and they could not be together as long as she was engaged still, which was not an easy thing to undo in her society.

Daniel laid on the rack in the workshop depressed. He was facing the wall with Hanora in the other rack. He was having every fear he could imagine running threw his head as he heard Hanora get up. He rolls on his back to see her sitting on the bed. “ You all right?”
She looks at him. “ You are a good person.”
Daniel was shocked hearing that. “ I was afraid of you and the others.”
She pauses and her tail was wagging. “ Can I call you uncle?”
Daniel paused unsure. “ Uncle? I um don't understand.”
Hanora smiled looking at her tail. “ I am really lucky. Kila had blood work done on us. My dad is her brother.”
Daniel was shocked. “ Sense you and my aunt want to be together. I thought you can be my uncle.”
Daniel smiled happy. “ You can if it is fine with her.”
Hanora raised up and sat on his bed. She took his hand and leaned her head on his arm. “ Will you care for me still even if she says no?”
Daniel smiles wider. “ Of course, not because I need you or your Kila's niece. I will care for you because I care for you.”
Hanora smiles and closes her eyes. Daniel was unsure but he thinks she went to sleep. He starts to move her and she grabs his arm. He figures it would be inappropriate for him to sleep naked with her and he picks her up and sets her in his bed. He then covered her up and grabbed her bedding and went to the chair and moved it to beside her. He grabs her hand and the two went to sleep that way.
Daniel woke some time later with the lights on and the but of a gun landing on his forehead. When he came to again he was tied up hearing Hanora screaming in pain. “ No, don't! I don't want to be poked.”
Daniel rolled over to find the captain of the ship with his pants off and Hanora sitting on him. “ Let her go or you are going to pay.”
Daniel finds his rail gun pointed at him. He knew it was too powerful to be shot in a ship. “ Nice piece of hardware. Found it in your room with several other items. That hot ass of yours used up a brand new neocore in her vibrator. You must not have been enough of a man for her.”
The captain teases Hanora a little and she screams again. “ Shut up you thieving bitch!”
He grabs her neck to make her stop and she starts to go limp. “ You don't have to hurt her. What is it you want? I'll give it to you.”
The captain lets her go slightly. “ What is my name fury?”
Daniel paused. “ I don't know.”
He grabs her neck again and she squirms struggling before starting to go limp again. Daniel closes his eyes and bites his lip sorry for never learning it. In that moment Flash appeared with his name. “ You are Captain Jolins!”
He lets her go. “ Very good. Now tell me.”
Daniel starts to laugh. “ Whats so funny?”
Daniel shook his head. “ You thinking I am completely helpless.”
Jolins stands with Hanora in one arm and the rail gun in his free hand. He starts to circle Daniel. “ You are. The commando's are all but one off ship. Your whore is on the station as well talking to her father. Here you are resisting inspection when I find your assistant stole access codes.”
Daniel pauses. “ You mean on a ship that is here to be duplicated. Lets see. She probably knows three docking codes, a missile launch code and probably the shield bypass code. Am I accurate?”
Jolins pauses and kicks Daniel in the groin. Hanora screams again. “ So you admit she knows these classified codes.”
Daniel smirked. “ Of course she does. She has two beta access.”
Jolins kicks him again. This time in the mid section in the back. He found relief that his feet did not have sharp points on the nails. “ As captain of this ship it is my privilege to take disciplinary action on anyone in my care.”
Jolins lifted Hanora and she screamed and cried as he broke into her body. Satisfaction read on his face. “ I would have thought you would have had this one for yourself fury.”
Daniel squirmed as he pushed her down further. He then stops obviously becoming overexcited. “ I assume you broke the encryption on the core systems.”
Jolins smirked. “ Of course. Civilian hardware was not too hard.”
Daniel closed his eyes. “ What about the redundancy system?”
Jolins pauses. “ What redundancy system.”
Daniel smirked even more. “ The one tied into the gloves I still got on and have been using to get a message out.”
Jolins laughs. “ A convincing bluff. Even if you could get a message off ship, which you can't, no one out there can help you!”
Daniel sighs. “ Help me? Why do I need help blowing up the ship?”
Jolins laughs again but pauses seeing how serious Daniel was. He rolls him over to his belly and Daniel's hands were acting like they were typing. The lights then turn red and the workshop door shuts. “ I give it about four minutes before I can not stop it.”
Jolins laughs weakly. “ Your joking?”
Daniel looks at him in the eyes. “ As much as you.”
Jolins looks at Hanora and throws her away and points the rail gun at him. “ Undo this!”
Daniel looks at him coldly. “ You hurt someone I care about. I'll stop the ship overload if you tie yourself up after letting me go.”
Jolins shakes the gun at him. “ No, no no no, no! This is some sort of trick.”
Daniel sighs. “ One hundred and sixty seconds.”
Jolins shakes the gun again. “ No, you would not let her die. She is valuable to you.”
Daniel closes his eyes. “ You broke her. She was rather wanting to die than be had by a man at an early age. If my death and every person on board the ship is the cost of her revenge than so be it. One ten.”
Jolins puts the side of the gun to his forehead. “ Ninety!”
Jolins points the gun at him again. “ Shut up!”
Daniel smirked. “ Eighty.”
Jolins pulls the trigger and the biometric lock recognizes the unauthorized user and self destructed. The hidden knife gets propelled into his neck as his arm is blown off and blood goes everywhere. Daniel looks at Hanora as she looks at him just as helpless. “ Uncle!” Daniel nods to her as the lights actually turn red and alarms start sounding.
