Of Magic and Fur (Part 5)
Public bathhouses were common back in Roman times, so I thought it might be a good setting for a small encounter. Not that this is a roman story. :|
I also need help with tags, so if anyone has good suggestions, just add them.
As I walk in, I think that I should get some clothes for Grace, if she would even wear them. I take off my clothes, put them in the laundry pile to be done, and go into the bath. I barely get into the bath before I get my first clue on who I am. A muscular-looking man with red, spiky hair and dark skin says, “Hey, you look familiar.” “Yeah, you are! Welcome back to Magnamia, Ed! Everyone thought you were dead, man!” I realize this must be the same guy I saw on that scrap of paper, so I become very wary. “Aren’t you wanted by the authorities?” He glares at me, then looks away. I then move away from him, to soak in peace. I wanted to know more about myself, but for some reason, I felt like this was neither the time or the place to learn, so after I finished soaking, I just quickly dried off, put on my just-washed clothes, and walked outside, trying not to draw attention to myself.
Grace I knew this town well, since I’d been a slave here before. But then I escaped back into the wild, where I rejoined my own pack. I don’t know why I was still helping this human, as I still had yet to find a mate and create a pack back at the forest, but this seemed... nicer for some reason. As I was walking around, I saw some places that I recognized, like the general store where I bought food for myself with the money I earned at the palace catering to the king’s every horrible need. I’m just glad that I made it out alive. I see the human coming towards me, and then he grabs my leash, and we start walking away from the town square.
“So, I found out my name.” the human says. “Really? What is it?” “Edward Kaizo.” I jerked, as I realized that this Edward was actually one of the royalty who I was… catering to. “Strange coincidence…” I say. “You okay there?”, he says, obviously not realizing what he’d done, due to his memory loss. “Yeah, I’m fine”, I say, looking the other way. “Ooh, look, a magic shop!” says Edward. “Magic shop?” “I don’t think that’s a go… Ack!” I say, as Edward pulls on my leash, running toward the magic shop like a puppy. I watch as the parchment falls out of the leash I am currently being choked by.
