Dove and Hate - 1

Something that wasn't meant to be as long as it turned out to be. This is only the first part. Already like half way of this length into another part, part 2 I'd imagine. Don't know how far its going to go but I'll post what I have right now.

Said I was going to do it Sunday, guess I lied.

If you spot any typos or errors in the grammar please let me know so I can correct it.

The hustle and bustle of the lower slums was always something to behold, so lively with sounds and voices being thrown around constantly. It was hard to hold a conversation unless being shouted at full voice, that didn't stop people from talking though! Dirty, in most places, clean around the food, not so much around the street walking girls; one could find anything they wanted her, or buy it in one form or another.

It was here that rested the bar 'The Sleeping Dog', a hangout for mercenaries and thugs that wanted to make their living by depriving others of their life. Guard duty, escort, package delivery, odd jobs in between for those that were new blooded.

A life not meant for everyone, so when the sight of a young human girl resting in a seat by the far wall of the bar caught the eye of a new blood, most would wander over to have a word. Normally in the form of 'girl' or 'ass' with some form or buying a drink or selling of some ass. Each and every time, the older vets of the bar would chuckle under their breath as they waited for the girl to smash her bottle across the face of yet another ignorant new blood.

The young blonde looked to be early twenties if not younger, she stood a normal height for a human girl, hovering around five feet or just over; short cropped dirty blonde hair cut sloppily with a blade were pulled into a tiny tail with some para cord. Dark green eyes seemed to glow with a different type of anger, most were unhappy in one form or another in the slums but this girl took the crown when it came to bad moods most of the time.

With yet another new blood out cold on the floor, fresh blood staining the wood under him the girl would sit herself back down with her head tilted to the right. She showed off the large scar that ran from the corner of her mouth back toward the end of her jawline; a nice little reminder of just who she was. No one ever forgot a pretty face that had such an ugly mark carved into it, like a beautiful dove with black tar running down its back.

That's what most people called her anyway. 'Dove', she never said her real name, at least not to most in the bar; the only one that she did talk to would be the older wolf who approached from behind the bar.

"Look D, I know you hate it when the new bloods bother you but could you not get blood all over the place. You can't get blood out of wood." The older wolf would present light grey fur with a white under belly, his whiskers trimmed short yet a path of fur grew long on the end of his chin. Probably middle aged, built like a bull however as he towered high around six seven with a body that would have trucks begging their drivers not to hit him.

Chuckles would ring out as the older wolf attempted to calm the young girl who promptly stood face to chest with him, the only one actually crazy enough to stand toe to toe with him.

"I ain't hearin it Nate! Stop lettin em get s'damn close den!" The girls words blended together a bit, an impediment but from the damage to her face or from before was unclear. Many learned long ago never to question it, the ones that did didn't show their faces around the SD bar anymore.

With hands lifted in surrender the older wolf Nate would gently place his large hands on the young girls shoulders, easily strong enough to just rip her arms off yet he was so gentle it was as if his hands didn't even weigh a thing.

"You know I can't have you busting up people, the late time you busted up three of them at once. I'm still finding teeth around here when I sweep..." the truth of that statement being proven as a distant bar patron crouched down to pick up a small white pebble like object. Just in time to hear about teeth as he promptly let the 'pebble' drop before kicking it under a chair.

Dove showed her teeth in a snarl as she glared up to the larger wolf, she looked ready to start swinging on him just as the door opened to break the building tension. In walked two well dressed figures, the fact that these two wore suites made them stand out; the fact that they were clean suits proved they weren't from the slums.

All attention turned to these two new figures, well off clients as it were; no other reason anyone would wander into SD so well dressed; unless they were looking to go their asses kicked from the slums all the way out of town.

The two were felines, twins it seemed; brown fur with yellow eyes. Fairly plain features on tom cats, yet with them looking exactly like the other it was a bit off putting; especially when they began to walk in sync with one another. Right over to Nate and Dove.

Dove brushed Nate's hands from her shoulders and fell back into her chair, arm falling over the back of it as she set her left ankle on her right knee; the clear knife screwed to the bottom of her boot not even having the decency of being hidden as it gleamed in the bars light. Nate simply turned himself about as the felines stopped in front of him,

"You are Nate Stephens correct." It was more of a statement than a question as the feline on the left reached into his suit to present a letter, the quick action of his hand caused several in the bar to tense; including Dove who looked ready to jump all over the feline for reaching under his suit like that!

Nate was calm however as he looked on the presented letter, he extended his hand out to take the offered folded piece of paper. The wolf opened and looked over the paper, Dove in the meantime watched the two felines intently, glaringly even as they waited patiently for Nate to give some manner of response.

The older wolf let his light blue eyes scan over the letter piece by piece, seemed there was quite a bit written on it before he finally lowered his arm. His demeanor serious as he regarded her two felines, "She comes with and we'll be good to go."

Dove quickly snapped her attention to Nate who stood firm, his right hand curled back to ball into a fist as if ready to be the aggressor; Dove took the hint easy enough as her left hand slipped to her hip, ready to grab the knife that was sheathed along her belt against her back.

The felines took a moment, to look at one another. It was just as weird when they walked in sync, as if there was a mirror or something in the middle of the bar. Yet the tension that was broken earlier was now back with a new twist, these two had Nate on edge which had everyone in the bar holding their breath.

The felines held a hushed little conversation with one another, short quick words to keep those around from reading their lips. As they reached an agreement Doves hand had reached the blade against her back and Nate had shifted his dominant foot back to support his weight. The felines however would nod in sync, such a strange thing to see in person.

"Very well, however the amount to be payed will not change. If that is agreeable then please tend to the matter in a timely manner." With that the two felines spun and walked out, some kind of strange horror movie scene with them walking in sync as they left the bar. A silent sigh being exhaled from the whole bar as the tension finally relaxed leaving everyone with a desire to all take a drink at the same time.

Dove however would be fixated on Nate who seemed to stare at the door to the bar for an eternity before he finally spun to head toward the back; Dove took the moment to quickly jump up and follow him.

In the back of the bar would be a large room with a bunk off to the side, cage closet with an assortment of guns safely locked up; no other kind of decoration and everything was neatly arranged and assembled. The smiting desk where he worked on his guns, the book shelf with no books on it, the bunk had a single blanket and pillow, footlocker tightly locked up and gun case. Nate was so bland, so clearly military in his arrangement.

All save for the photo that rested on the far wall between the bookshelf and his bunk; a picture of him standing in front of The Sleeping Dog with another wolf. Smaller, black and grey with green eyes. They were smiling, friends perhaps? Dove never asked.

She stood in the door way, her shoulder leaned against the frame as Nate presented a key that unlocked his gun cage, then another key brought up to open his foot locker showing a few articles of clothing.

Dove didn't talk, she waited for him to settle down. He was clearly on edge as he pulled out a shotgun, two handguns and some loaded magazines with a box of shells. Setting the guns on the smiting table he would pull up a small rolling chair,

"We gotta head out into the wastes for a bit...for Domingo."

The name caused Dove to stiffen up, she pushed from the frame and stepped forward "Dun ya fuckin dare Nate!"

The older wolf stared down at the handgun in his hand, slowly he began to draw the slide back before breaking it free and removing the slide to expose the trigger assembly. He didn't answer, he wouldn't it seemed even as Dove stepped up and loomed over him.

"After what ya told me he did before!? Nate ya can't be serious bout doin another job fer th'guy!" Doves hands were up now, she looked ready to sock Nate right in the muzzle for remaining silent as he pulled the slide back into place and setting it down.

"It's just something I got to do Dove..." he would turn to her with a serious stare "I haven't forgotten what happened last time. Which is why I want you to come with, I know you'll have my back."

Dove did hit Nate this time, no more hesitation as she slammed her left fist into the wolfs muzzle with enough force to echo out into the main room. A few concerned glances being cast back toward the doorway to the back. The young girls teeth gritted as her shoulders trembled from her muscles being clenched.

"Dun ya be given m'none of that 'I gotta shit'!" Nate on the other hand was relaxed, the punch didn't seem to faze him for the most part, his right hand moved up to gently rub along his muzzle to ease the pain. Though he left his gaze off to the side where his head was forced to move, Dove ground her teeth before she finally let her shoulders drop in defeat before she stepped over to sit on the wolfs bunk.

"Ya nearly died las time Nate. Ya canna keep doin this fer Dime." Dove would speak, now calm with concern clearly etched in her face as she let her elbows fall onto her knees. Nate's ears fanned back as her words reached his ears, "Please don't call her that."

Dove's eyes cast off to the side as memories of another time seemed to tear open once closed wounds between the two. The flashes of blood, shells, a sharp blade and Nate laying face down danced before Dove's eyes while Nate turned himself back around to finish checking over his weapons.

"I'll be leaving out as soon as I'm ready, this has to be handled as soon as possible..." Dove stood up with a snarl as Nate spoke, "I'll be leaving though the South gate..." with that she stormed out through the bar.

Dove seemed to time it perfectly as a new blood opened the door with a goofy smile as he quickly opened his mouth to comment on a 'sexy piece of ass' being in the bar. He quickly found his upper and lower jaws grabbed by either of Dove's hands; a sudden jerk in two different directions followed by a horrid dislocation that would leave the sound of screaming in its wake as Dove stormed out into the slums.

Nate sat in silence with only the sound of his weapons for the longest time, racking slides and checking chambers before putting live rounds at the ready. He drew off his shirt showing the several spots of missing fur on his upper body. The most prominent one being over his heart, a close range shot form a heavy firearm that left a nasty scare on the front and back of his body.

He replaced his shirt with a heavier long sleeve blue one, a light vest over that that held a few pouches for items; his tan shorts were discarded for some durable cargo pants with digitigrade sleeves cinching the bottom to keep them from snagging on anything and tearing. Holster on his hip for one handgun, second went against the small of his back under his vest; shotgun slung over his shoulder he would then walk out. Those left in the bar raised their bottles and glasses to him as he stepped out into the slums.

-The South Gate-

Nate made his way through the slums without issue, a wolf his size with a shotgun slung across his back seemed to have people take a step back; that and he clearly had a reputation as he was regarded with respect nearly every block he walked.

The closer he got to the gate however the less people he would come across, the less friendly those he did meet seemed. Though his reputation seemed to proceed him as he closed the distance to the gate. A quick glance about would leave him with drooped shoulders as he found himself standing there alone.

A sigh left him, he couldn't expect her to actually come with him. Not after before...

Just then a light push from behind caught his attention. Someone going for his shotgun!? The balls on this idiot! He spun quick to see...nothing. He looked about before he slowly turned back around to try and figure out what the hell happened.

Only to meet Dove, a handgun held in her left hand and pointed directly at Nate's head. "Bang, splat. I could'a do it f'ya if ya really set'n dyin dis time. Save m'self da walk back."

Nate didn't answer as he looked Dove over. Black cargo pants, boots, long sleeve black shirt with a vest. She matched him in all but color and shotgun. Instead she had a rifle, old world AK; bout the only rifle that survived the Bang. Whoever made them knew what they were doing.

Either way Dove stood there, weapon pointed at Nate; her green eyes stared hard into Nate's blue ones with her finger resting on the trigger. It was loaded. Nate didn't even have to question it, Dove didn't bluff and she didn't hesitate.

She did lower the gun after a time of silence, slipped it back into place behind her back under her vest before she turned to look out the South gate just as the sun let night take dominance over the sky. She reached into her leg pockets and pulled out a black wool skull cap and finger-less gloves, slipping them on before she started off with Nate silently in tow.

No need for words it seemed as the two set off.

The wastes. The result of the Bang, apparently back in the old world people had some kind of super power that could destroy the world. Some kind of weapon that they pointed at each other in places called 'countries', no one is really sure what the hell happened anymore but the result was what the world was now. Bout ninety percent wasteland, with radiation, mutated animals, people, anomalies, and other nasty things that will kill whatever isn't itself.

No civilization, no rules, no nothing but wastes. Very proud of whoever came up with such a 'on point' name, yet there was nothing to joke about when outside the walls of a town. The dry lands outside lacked water in the day save for the irradiated liquid that would kill anyone stupid enough to drink it. Then at night it lacked all manner of heat as the night dropped below freezing, as well as let all the creepy crawly creatures out to try and make whoever still out there their next meal.

This is where Nate and Dove were. Steadily marching through the darkness of the wastes, Nate had taken the lead by now with his low light vision that wolves had it made sense to have him on point. Dove followed close behind him, her head on swivel as she made sure nothing was creeping up on them from behind. Guns were in hands now,

"Dunno why t'hell ya couldn wait till t'morrow mornin!" She'd complain, as she huffed out with the temperature steadily dropping as the night claimed more and more domain over the world. Nate wouldn't answer though, a single glance given to the young girl behind him before he turned forward.

Now wasn't the time to lose focus, never knew when something would jump up to try and tear a chunk out of a persons leg or arm. Most things out in the wastes were a bit more cautious of creatures that were in groups, especially when anthros were around. Something about a predator sense or something, Nate was a bit of a deterrent but that wouldn't stop about ninety nine percent of what was out in the wastes.

The march lasted for several hours, Dove none to shy in voicing her complains about the cold, the time, Nate's stupidity, his lack of time sense, the fact that she should have hit him harder or that she should have shot him back there and she'd be nice and cozy in a warm bath by now. Nate ignored her for the most part, she wasn't one to argue with. Violence was always an easy option for Dove, best to let her vent.

After near four hours of walking in the wastes they were stuck out in the middle of nowhere, Nate would slow to a stop and let out a heavy sigh. His breath was able to be seen now, the temperature had dropped enough to make him want to roll down his sleeves. Dove on the other hand shivered a bit as she rubbed her hands together when they stopped.

"Fuck Nate draggin m'ass all'a way inna waste! Stupid fuck'n mutt!" None to hushed about it as she basically looked Nate right in the eye while saying it, her nose now a bit blistered from the cold as it ran just a little.

Dove would glance about, nothing, nothing and even more nothing. Typical wastes.

"The hell we doin way out here Nate!? Ain't helpin that I dunno where t'hell we be goin or what we doin!?"

The wolf let out a sigh in response as he turned his head away from Dove, the girl snarled in response with her right hand balling into a first; clear she was ready to jump up and clock Nate once more only to be halted when he spoke.

"Need to go to North Haven, got some gear to pick up that Domingo wants." Dove looked less than pleased, especially at the name Domingo being used again, her brow narrowing with her teeth grinding.

"N'we jus gonna stroll on in an get it? Gonna end up in 'raider hands again? Cause last time..." Nate turned quickly and cut Dove off,

"I know what happened last time!" Dove froze for a moment, the fact that Nate had cut her off was one thing but how serious he was when he did it, and the fact that his face was wracked with guilt caused Dove to close her mouth. She couldn't look at him as she turned her eyes to the ground toward her right.

Nate stood there, his ears fanned back, his eyes resting on Dove as she turned to the right; that scar on her cheek held Nate's attention while Dove kicked at the ground. He turned with a sigh, his left hand dove into his pocket to pull out a folded hand made map with a compass. He spent the next few minutes consulting the map, Dove in the meantime watched for predators; no night vision but the moonlight above helps.

Nate was an asshole for dragging her out here at night! But it was a full moon, meaning she was at least able to see. So he was a smart asshole. Dove did find herself glancing at Nate though, concern on her face as she looked at him from behind.

A few minutes with the map to make a route, double checking with the word from other people in the Sleeping Dog who've been this way. Always good to gather news about what might have changed out in the wastes, where marauders might be holed up, what kind of beasts were around, if radiation storms were had rolled through. It made of an easier trip when you knew you weren't about to walk tail deep into an irradiated area only to be ambushed by some mutated beast with marauders scoping you from a distance.

With the route set in Nate's mind they marched on. A quiet night to be sure, but North Haven would be another day an nights walk before even being in sight. The march was brisk though, steady, determined, and filled with Dove complaining every thirty minutes about one thing or another.

-Outside North Haven-

Giving a heavy huff as he stepped up onto the rock, his eyes squinted as he peered into the distance as the sun beat down on him. A bad time to be a fur covered wolf to be sure, his mouth open with a steady panting while Dove sat on the ground off a little ways. Having discarded his upper shirt, wearing nothing but a sports bra and her vest with her shirt being tied about her waist.

Nate lifted his right hand to shield his eyes from the sun as he searched the horizon, he would find the very outline of his destination way out in the distance; through the visible waves of heat flowing from the ground. He spun to step off of the rock,

"We're in sight, should be there just after night fall. " He would inform, though Dove would just turn to glare at him,

"I swear! I want one'em damn thin's! What's it!?" She would reach out with both of her hands and grab an imaginary object before turning it left and right like a valve.

Nate had to take a moment with raised brow before he chuckled, "Oh, you mean one of those things on the calendar we saw?" The girl quickly jumped to her feet while dusting her butt off,

"Yeah, that thin! Some ol'lady n'town told m'bout em! Said didn take but few hours ta get somewhere! An they had this thin that blew cold air!" Dove sounded excited about that part as she gestured with her hands, tuning invisible knobs and pressing invisible buttons. All the while Nate just smiled,

"Well I'll be sure to keep an eye out for one. Let you know what I find." He would state before he turned and began walking once more, Dove giving a heavy huff with slumped shoulders and a following 'Yeah, ya do dat' in response.

When they finally were within a stones throw of North Havens gate it turned out that Nate was a good judge of time and distance; night time had set in and it was already getting cold. Dove had put her shirt back on at this point, it was truly a pain as well since Nate wasn't going to stop for her to take her vest and weapons off to throw her shirt back on. 'Slaver Driver' was the title she yelled at him as she struggled to haul her vest around while working her hands into her sleeves.

Yet she managed. Now they were stepping into North Haven, a place just like South Haven, the town they had left. Not much difference except Nate wasn't as well respected here; though Dove seemed to have a reputation of her own.

This was discovered quickly as a young human ran up to Nate right after they walked toward the more populated area, quickly offering a 'tour' and several 'hot spots' while being a rather fast talker. This was until Dove stepped around from behind the large wolf, the young male froze mid sentence before he spun and ran off.

Nate let forth a sigh, "Seriously, what did you do here?" this question seemed to have been asked before, multiple times perhaps. Dove remained silent as she let forth a huff through her nose and started walking. Add yet another mark to that question going unanswered. Nate followed though, Dove knew North Haven pretty well; something from her past life before she ended up in South Haven at The Sleeping Dog.

Nate often wondered about it, about Dove and her past, her real name was something he was still unable to pry out of her. Even when being on the march through the wastes for near three days they barely spoke...or he barely spoke. Dove complained the whole time. That just left no room for actual conversation though, he was never sure if she complained to actually complain or just to keep him from starting up a real conversation.

She acted stubborn and stupid, but she was smart. Perhaps a bit too smart for her own good sometimes?

Either way Nate followed, Dove knew where they could hold up for the night. At a discount even, the man behind the counter greeted Dove with a big smile. Even giving a little story about how she knocked the hell out of two guys trying to rob him! Barely half their size then, probably about thirteen years old.

Dove shut the man up however with a swift kick to the counter base, a snarl with a heated glare being cast onto the older man who threw his hands up in surrender and quickly gave them a key.

Nate in the meantime watched Dove as she stomped off, her reaction, her expression, how she quickly silenced the man. He took that bit of information and tucked it away for now, a job was to be done and that little crow bar of information might just be enough to actually pry something loose later on.

By the time Nate caught up to Dove she had already opened the door and claimed the bed! She dumped her vest and weapons on a large round table in the corner of the room, a handgun resting on the bed next to her as she laid across the middle of it. She was quick to undress, even removed her shirt and boots before Nate was able to walk in and close the door.

The wolf did join her in unloading some weight, that vest and those weapons felt like a dead body after a day of marching let alone three. He unbuttoned his shirt and sat himself on the oppisite side of the bed, his arms propped him up as he looked up at the ceiling. Electricity was a nice thing to have, stories of the old world told of it being everywhere back then. There was almost no place without it and people even searched for places without it just to get away from it.

Now people flocked to any place that had lights. Probably because of the mutated creautres in the wastes. That was probably it.

As Nate stared at the ceiling Dove would have moved, her back suddenly pushed up against Nates, she leaned against the larger wolf with her head falling back to rest against his shoulder. He didn't mind it, she could lay against him, hit him, even put a gun in his face. She deserved that...he owed her that.

Dove let out a sigh as her eyes drifted shut, "Why ya never try nothin?" The question caught Nates attention to be sure, he had to blink and turn his head toward Dove.

"I don't...." he was promptly cut off, "Dun lie. We done worked toget'er now bout six er seven years, walked all over t'wastes. Dragged each other outta some shit. Damn near died few times..." Dove opened her eyes half way, "But ya never asked nothin, never...tried nothin...wit me I mean..."

Dove turned her head to look Nate in the eye, the wolf was at a loss for words. He wasn't shocked or glued to the ceiling in utter surprise, he just looked at her. What could he tell her, he wasn't sure himself.

"I-uh...I don't think..." once again he found himself cut off as Dove pulled herself away from the wolf, "I get it."

Nate had to turn part way as Dove pulled herself off the bed and stood up, "Ya dun wanna wit a human, let alone one like me." Nate looked as if he had been hit in the gut with those statements. Insulting him was one thing, but Dove saying those things about herself. That seemed to hit a new sensitive spot Nate didn't know he had.

The wolf stood up quickly as Dove pulled her shirt back on, "D don't be like that, you know that isn't it." He'd object, he moved about the bed to make sure Dove didn't storm out of the room, making sure he was between the door and her.

Dove would stare up at the wolf with a blank stare as he blocked her exit, she did plan on walking out. Get some fresh air, run around some familiar territory; now she had to deal with a stammering wolf.

Her lips parted in a slight snarl as Nate spoke, giving a heavy sigh as she turned her head to the right "Yeah, dun know nothin bout nothin. Years an ya left stutterin when I ask, ya dun gotta say nothin. Said I get it."

Nate was once again hit in the gut, his right hand moved out to rest on Doves shoulder to try and comfort her. It seemed like a kind gesture, till he ended up in a elbow lock. Dove was small, but that just meant she had plenty of practice as she locked Nate's shoulder and dragged him over to hip throw him back onto the bed.

The wolf found himself on his back, not at a loss for breath or anything as the bed was quite soft and took all the impact, yet he stared up at Dove as she looked down at him. Her hands rested upon her hips as her open shirt let him look directly up her lightly toned abs and her breasts that were slightly squished from her sports bra. Only from this kind of angle was one able to see not only the physically masculine features of Dove, but also her own set of scars.

Slash across her right hip, two shrapnel wounds lower right chest, right shoulder had been shot; went right though from the look of the scar.

The human girl sighed out as she watched Nate's eyes drift over her scars one after another, her eyes were sharp and she could follow the wolfs eyes easily. He was such a push over, just a giant bitch of a wolf!

Dove turned her head to the right again as her eyes shifted to the floor, her mind clearly working over something as Nate just laid there, the silence lingering with a different kind of tension built between the two.

"I never thought you even thought about such things D" Nate finally broke the silence, the human turned her head to glare down at the wolf, "Dun ya fuckin pull dat shit wit me Nate!"

The wolf rolled himself over and pulled himself to his knees, even on the bed he was still taller than Dove; "I didn't think it was my place to try, not after..." his right hand lifted toward Doves left cheek. His hand hovered over the girls scar for a time before Dove took hold of his wrist.

She glared into Nate's eyes, "I'll never forgive ya, fer dis" she stated bluntly, the older wolfs ears fanned back as his eyes showed his defeat at Dove's words, he tried to pull his right hand away but found no strength to pry his arm from Doves grip.

She snarled a bit at the wolf as she saw his will just break at her words, "What happened, what went down, s'all yer fault..." her eyes fell to the wolfs chest as the memories of the past rose up in her mind.

Nate felt these words like a knife, the blade blunt yet carving into his gut before twisting and being dragged from the left to right.

"It hurts..." she would continue, that blade just didn't seem to stop as she spoke once more. "E'ery time I look inna mirror..." slowly Dove pulled Nate's hand in to rest against her cheek and cover her scar. Her eyes closed as she felt his rough fur fall against her soft flesh,

"I hate ya fer what happened...so make the pain go away. Jus f'a little while." Nate was torn, it was clear on his face as Dove stood there, holding his hand against her face. Tearing him open and laying him bare, he couldn't back away. He couldn't after that.

He slowly reached out with his left hand to press against her other cheek, the feeling of his fur caused her to flinch and draw back just a bit before she moved forward once more. She let him cup her face, her free hand gripping his other wrist as he gently brushed his palms against her face.

Dove felt her breath catch a bit, this really wasn't how this was supposed to go. All dramatic and bringing up the past. Nate just wouldn't do it himself, like she thought he would or...she wanted.

Nate on the other hand was at a bit of a loss. He was holding her face, she was tense, she even flinched! He'd seen Dove take a bottle to the side of the head, she didn't just stand there like a robot or anything, she hit the floor and cussed up a storm before standing back up and knocking out as many teeth as she could but she didn't flinch! Now here she was, vulnerable...soft.

He swallowed and licked his lips. He was never good at this, it was a human thing anyway. The tip of his muzzle gently pressed against Dove's lips, a kiss. Awkward as one would expect when an anthros muzzle came into contact with a humans lips, but Dove trembled. A spark running down her spine as she clenched Nate's wrists.

It was strange, a kiss from either of them; let alone between them. Nate let his left hand drift back a bit, Dove allowed him. His hand moved to the back of her head, gently cradling her and pulling her in just a bit more to deepen this awkward kiss.

Her lips were soft, his were rough. That fur tickled her nose, her breath tickled his. His breath was horrid, hers wasn't much better.

Finally the kiss was broken, Nate pulled back letting Dove huff and lean forward just a bit, still holding onto Nate's wrists which were now supporting her.

Doves heart was pounding in her chest, she couldn't believe it was so...weird. Despite the kiss being awkward her own body going against her like that. With that tingle down her spin, now her heart pounding like she had just ran from a mutated rat or something!

Nate's heart wasn't in much of a better condition as he watched Dove try to recover herself. Should he let her? She's the one that wanted this, right? He wasn't sure. But it was already awkward enough! He would pull her in, gently coaxing her with his hands still gently cradling her head, and it worked.

Dove stepped forward, her right knee slipping onto the bed first before being joined by her left; now kneeling down on the bed in front of Nate who was quickly building confidence. When Dove moved onto the bed he turned a bit and coaxed her along to lay her down on the bed. Which she did, slowly she would scoot her knees along before gently falling down to lay on her left side; her left arm limp out in front of her while her right hand still held onto Nate's wrist.

Seeing Dove in this state, it was weird. Nate had seen some weird shit but this was just plain weird. He wasn't sure this wasn't some kind of trick, a dream, maybe he got wasted back at the SD and was just lost in some kind of drunk stupor. Boy would looking Dove in the eye after a dream like this be impossible.

With her laid out before him his right hand was free, he would reach out to gentle lay his hand over Doves chest. The action caused Dove to tense, she watched as Nate's hand drew in close before falling onto her chest, her eyes closing as she gripped the top blanket on the bed.

"I know, dey not big!" she'd exclaimed after Nate's had gently cupped one of her breasts, the wolf finding that more cute than anything. Dove, saying something cute? This had to be a dream, maybe it was someone in the bar; blind sided him with a brick or something on top of being drunk.

"Don't worry about it, I like them this size" Nate would comfort, Dove opening her eyes just as Nate hooked his thumb into her bra; dragging the cloth out of the way to expose her bare chest. Her nipples were already hard. Must of been the cold, either way Nate would lightly run his index finger around Dove's left nipple; this caused her to flinch again. She curled up a bit, her knees drawn up and her chin tucking down as her eyes clench shut.

Dove felt like she couldn't breath, it was so against what she had known all her life. Gentle, soft, electricity running down her spine causing her body to jump and spasm. Her chest felt like it was on fire, and Nate wasn't stopping! She felt like reaching up and clocking him! Only to find herself giving a muffled moan as his finger transferred to her other nipple, causing her body to clench up again!

The wolf found this all to hit a new kind of spot, it was definitely near his stomach that was being stabbed a few minutes ago. To have Dove so timid, so vulnerable. He was still having an internal fight with himself about this being a dream. All the while his hands just kind of took a will of their own, his left hand breaking from Doves grip to slowly slide down her side.

His palm slid down her side, his thumb curling down to feel over her stomach; his thumb dipping into the curves of her abs as his hand trailed down to rest on her hip. His other hand shifted from just his index finger to his palm, cupping and messaging Doves breasts which only caused her to squirm.

Such soft touches with rough fur had Dove squirming, trying to pull herself out of the way to get him to ease up; she couldn't tell him to stop, she didn't have the breath. It was caught in her throat, all the attention to her chest was dragging out sounds she didn't even know she could make!

Her stomach was fluttering, her thighs rubbing together as she rolled onto her back with her eyes clenched, her head rolling back and forth as her hands clenched the top blanket threatening to tear the blanket apart as her knuckles turned white from clenching her fists so hard!

Just as Dove started to squirm, her back arching up a sudden knock came from the door causing Nate and Dove both to nearly jump out of their own skin. Nate jumping up and sliding off the bed as Dove quickly pushed her bra back down and rolled to the right, quickly grabbing two handguns from the table and tossing one to Nate as he approached the door.

Stepping to the side of the door and slowly opening it to see just who the hell ruined the moment!

Nate's eyes quickly fell down to a young boy, a kid. Couldn't be more than eight at the most, a young tom cat, spotted, white and black with blue eyes. He regarded Nate calmly as he held out a small box with a note attached.

Nate took the box and the boy ran off without a word, Nate taking a moment to glance about outside before closing the door. Taking hold of the note he'd flip the piece of paper open and quickly read over what was on it. Dove in the meantime buttoned up her shirt and approached the wolf, "W'ass it say?"

The wolf was silent for a moment as he made sure to finish reading everything, "From Noss, the contact for Domingo. Apparently we weren't very subtle just walking into the city..."

Dove turning with a 'tch' "We was supposed ta be sneaky er some shit!?" she'd curse, while putting her hands on her hips and turning to walk away.

"Doesn't matter D, just saved us some time. Gotta take this to the third party in exchange for the gear Domingo wants..." Nate took a moment to look over the box seeing it was seal on all sides. Wasn't very large or heavy to the wolf, didn't have a specific smell either.

Dove on the other hand was less than happy as she snarled, "Fuckn Dime! The hell dis Noss asshole couldn' do d'job den!? Swear dis shit dun feel right Nate!" Dove would voice before slamming her gun down on the table only to glare at the wolf who gently set the package down on the table next to the weapons.

"It'll be fine D, we just got to get this done and we'll be golden. I get paid, you get half and..." Dove would cut him off with a firm finger stabbing into his chest,

"I dun fuckin need no money if'n I be dead Nate!" With a snarl she'd step past the wolf toward the door, cracking the door open she'd glance about before closing it once more before locking it. She would then turn back to see Nate as he examined the box, he was clearly curious as to what was inside it. She could tell he was on edge just like her, just didn't voice it.

She shook her head and quickly stomped over to the bed only to sit down on it, still shaking her head before her left hand reached up to pull the small cord from her hair letting it fall free, for what it was worth. She let out a sigh before she glanced down to her lap, and a soft glow fell over her cheeks and nose; the blush was unnoticed by Nate with his back to her. For now at least.
