A Pirates Life for Me
This is a series based on one of my favorite movies Pirates of the Caribbean. It's got short chapters but with some time and effort I'm sure I can make this into a long action and adventure series.
Far out in space just on the border of the rift was the Crimsons dome. A well-known spaceport to the most unsavoury of characters. Fugitives, slavers, crime lords, pirates. All the galaxy's most vile scum came to this spaceport to either hide or do business.
Despite its overflowing streets with the most unsavoury of individuals. Some called this place home. Most of these people were the slaves that were born or brought here with their masters.
One of these slaves. A human girl who was born on the crimson dome and owned by a family of Sissich’s blacksmiths was having her first child in the Sissich’s families workshop. “Come my dear pussssh.” N,yak a female sissich said in a rough yet comforting voice to the human slave. “Ugh!” The woman groaned in pain.
Rebecca was born a slave on the crimson dome. She had fair skin and bright green eyes with light brown hair. “Ugh, this kid is more painful than master's home-cooked pies!” The slave muttered. The sissich made a rattle-like noise. A sissich version of laughter.
Sissich’s had a similar appearance to cobras. Like most races, they walked on two legs and had two arms. Like snakes on earth, they grew until they died and most sissich’s lived for thousands of years. N,yak had red scales all over her body. Except for on the inside of her hood. On either side were two large blotches of white that were shaped like hourglasses. Being a sissich also meant she was quite tall. Ten-foot six inches to be precise.
The sissich female hovered over the human. Her red eyes stared down at the suffering human. “You are doing great my dear. Just keep pussshing.” The cobra-like alien said taking a rag and wiping the sweat from the human's brow.
There was a loud hiss as a door was opened. N,yak, and Rebecca looked towards the doorway and saw the blacksmith himself. N,yak’s lifemate and Rebecca’s master. “How isss ssshe my sun rays?” T,aka said walking inside the room. “Well.” N,yak replied caressing Rebecca’s hand.
“Ahh!” The human suddenly screamed in pain. “T-the baby!” She yelled in fear and agony. “Hurry T,aka!” The female sissich waved her mate over. The male sissich didn’t hesitate as he hurried over to the human's side and held her hand.
N,yak moved down to Rebeccas legs and carefully moved her scaled hands inside the blanket that was covering the human’s lower half. “Pusssssh Rebecca!” The human screamed in agony as she did as instructed. The sissich gasps when she felt something push against her hands. “It’s coming!"
Around twenty minutes had passed since Rebecca had given birth. Now she was laying in bed waiting for her masters to bring back her child. A door hissed open and in walked two sissich’s and one human infant. “He isss a healthy hatchling!” N,yak said as she entered the room and sat in a chair opposite Rebecca’s bed.
“Here you go, my dear.” N,yak handed the human her son. “Ohh.” Rebecca sniffled as she held her now sleeping son in her arms. “He’s so tiny.” She whispered. “Compared to us he’s puny.” T,aka chuckled standing beside his mate.
“What will you call him?” Both the sissich’s asked. “I was thinking… Jack.” The two cobra aliens hissed in thought. “There are much better names than that! How about ack!” T,aka hunched over as his mate had elbowed him in the stomach.
“It isss a beautiful name, Rebecca. Ignore my foolish mate dear.” N,yak said making the human laugh a little. The two sissich’s may have bought Rebecca as a slave but never once had they treated her as one. They treat her more like a daughter rather than some object or tool for them to use.
If it were not for the rule of the crimson dome they would have freed Rebecca but buying a slave's freedom costs a lot of credits. The amount a small blacksmith family could not afford. However, that did not stop Rebecca from trying to save up the money to earn her freedom. While she was a slave she was still able to earn money by working for her two masters.
“There is something I want to ask you both.” The two sissich’s looked at each other before leaning forward. “What isss it, Rebecca?” T,aka asked.
“I’d like to put all the money I have earned and will earn towards paying for Jacks' freedom.” The two sissich’s gasp. A young healthy baby like Jack costs a lot of money in the slave market. It would take a large number of credits and effort to earn that kind of money.
“Rebecca. You know how much money it costs just to release a slave. While I will not refuse this request I hope you will understand that you may only be able to earn enough money to release one of you.” T,aka said.
The woman sighed. “I know that I might only be able to earn enough to earn his freedom but I don’t care. I don’t want Jack’s life to be like mine.” N,yak stood up and hissed. “And what is wrong with your life, have we ever mistreated you or hurt you?!” N,yak asked taking offense.
“Of course not N,yak you’ve both been wonderful people to me. Almost as if you were both my parents.” The two sissich’s cold-blooded hearts warmed up a little hearing the human say that. “What I meant was I want Jack to be able to make his own choices in life. Be free, explore the galaxy, and be happy.” Rebecca said kissing her sleeping son’s head.
With a heavy sigh T,aka walked up to Rebecca’s bed and crouched down beside it. The sissichs gold reptilian eyes stared at the sleeping infant's little face. “I will allow you to work towards paying for Jacksss freedom Rebecca but it will be very hard.” The blacksmith sissich said looking at the woman.
“I understand sir and I will work very hard for him.” Both the human and two sissich’s smiled brightly.
