After hours of walking, John's legs finally got tired enough that they needed a good rest. John, still angry with his former friend, sat under the nearest tree, ready to fall asleep and never wake up again. After a few minutes, John finally went to sleep.

Suddenly, a scream woke him from a pleasant sleep, John thought it was a hallucination from lack of food and water, after a few seconds John heard the scream again, this time louder, the sound came from his left side, behind the trees, John wondered for a moment whether to run away, but after a while he decided to move towards the noise.

_Well… it probably won't get any worse _

After a few steps the sound got louder and louder, John finally got to the source of the sound, what he saw terrified him, he saw a person hanging by his leg from a tree, trying not to get eaten by a panther that was patiently waiting on the ground just below its prey, waiting for the moment when the prey is exhausted so that it can eat it.

“Hey you, you overgrow cat, over here!" Shouted John, picking a medium rock and throwing it at the panther.

After a while, the panther turned its head towards John and showed its fangs, roared furiously, got up and started walking calmly towards him, John was terrified, he was paralyzed with fear, he couldn't move any part of his body.

John at the last moment picked up a small piece of wood and started swinging it around like a club, trying unsuccessfully to chase the panther away.

The panther jumped on him, John was still holding the stick, he managed to stab the panther with the stick right in the torso, blood started dripping from the stick, but it wasn't red, it was pitch black, John looked up and saw the panther's head, their eyes met.

He was terrified, the eyes of the panther were completely black, there was no color other than black in them, John was losing his strength, he felt himself starting to pass out, he was about to let go of the stick, then he felt the panther begin to weaken, blood began to flow from the panther's head. John saw a heavy-breathing figure standing next to him, it was a tree figure, holding a bloody, primitive knife in his hand.

John gathered some strength and pushed the panther away from him, which fell limply to the ground.

"It died, you're welcome, human" said the figure from the tree.

"Thanks for your help" Said John to the catgirl.

“Don't go in another trouble like that, human, you may die" Said the girl.

The girl tried to walk, but failed because of the stabbing pain from the deep cuts in her leg.

John without a word took the girl by the arm, at first she resisted but after a few tries she stopped, and they started walking together, every now she pointed in the right direction, John walked with her, after 2 hours of walking they reached the cliff, a village could be seen in the distance.

"Home" said the girl, pointing her finger at the village.

"You want to go there?" John said, pointing at the village, pretending not to understand her.

The girl slowly nodded.

"Okay, let's go, it'll be better that way" John said taking the girl in his arms.

They reached the village a few hours before sunset.

When they entered the village, Immediately the people surrounded them, John looked around, the inhabitants formed a circle around them, preventing John from escaping.

John carefully released the girl, she unexpectedly kissed him on the cheek in gratitude for saving her and slowly walked to the circle, people let her inside.

After a few seconds of silence, John heard an old female voice: "What do you want from us, man?" The woman said, stepping out of the circle and facing John.

"..." John just looked deep into her blue eyes.

"Do you understand what I'm saying, human?" the chief of the village asked him.

“Y-yes, I can understand you"

And that was a big mistake, people around John started whispering and muttering.

"Tie him up" the woman with white fur and blue eyes said.

White fur, blue eyes, she's probably Alice's mother…

"Wait, what?! I didn't do anything, why?"

"Why? Human, why? Because you're from another clan, you're too dangerous to let you go, you know where our village is, you'd bring the rest of your clan"

Two male cats approach John, hold him down and begin to tie him up.

“Please don't do this to me!" Said John, trying to free himself.

“Did any of you saw, um, a girl with yellow hair and a white crystal?"

“Maybe we saw her, maybe we don't, it's not your business" Said someone from the crowd.

Alice approached the center of the circle, John recognized her hair.

“ALICE! , PLEASE TELL THEM, TO UNTIE ME! , I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!"

“You know this human, my daughter?" Said the woman with white fur and blue eyes, still standing in front of John.

"No, I don't know him, mother, I see him for the first time in my life," lied Alice, looking John straight in the eyes.

“WHAT?! A-ALICE, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, WE LIVED TOGETHER A VERY LONG TIME, WHY DON'T YOU RECOGNIZE ME?!" He shouted.

People from the crowd looked at John and on Alice.

"What are you talking about, you stupid human, if I say I don't know you, it means I don't know you!" Alice shouted back.

The villagers tied John to the pen outside and left him.

After a few hours, John was standing alone near the corral in the middle of the night.

“What have I done to be treated like this? Why does everything always go wrong!" He shouted at the darkness.

“You've stopped feeling sorry for yourself?" Said a familiar voice from the darkness.

“What do you want from me, you liar!"

“I had to say that, you fool!, these people don't quite trust me"

“Why? Your mother is the leader of the tribe, isn't she?"

“Yes!, but they smelled your scent on me"

“Oh, cats have better smell sense, I forgot"

“Yes we have, here, I brought you some food," Alice said, giving John half a slice of bread.

“Thanks, but I don't want to eat"

“Better eat it, tomorrow the village wants to go talk to the great sorcerer, they will probably take you too"

“Great, and what else? They will hang me?"

“I don't know that, John"

“Whatever, you still have the crystal?"

“Yes"

“That's great, let's go home!"

“Wait, Alice, don't leave me like that!" Shouted John, trying to free himself.

Nobody answered.

After eating the bread, John found a good enough spot on the ground and went to sleep.

The next day John was woken up by one of the guards, he got up, brushed himself off the dust and drank some water that guard had given him.

We have a job for you man, you must go to the great sorcerer and ask him to spare our village, five of us will go, you, the new girl, and three of our soldiers, and don't even think about escaping, we are faster than you, and we can hear better.

"I know what you're capable of, you don't have to tell me," John said, looking down at his dusty boots.

The guards told him that it was an hour walk from the village to the sorcerer's cave.

The guards showed him mercy and gave him a drink of water a couple of times and gave him some bread, John kept his eyes on Alice the whole journey, she also looked at him a couple of times.

Finally, they reached the cave. In front of the cave on a stone sat a hooded figure wearing a cloak of animal skin, with a black crystal staff in his right hand.

The guards pushed John to go first.

"Um H-hello, a-are you the g-great sorcerer?" Said John, shivering in fear.

“Yes, it's me, who dares disturb my rest!" Shouted the great sorcerer.

“J-John, John the h-human"

"Human? John?, what a coincidence, I gave my son that name"

“Yea, coincidence"

"So this is your sacrifice, a person of not from your kind, and on top of that he's a human, that's interesting" The sorcerer said, and looked at the cats behind John.

“WHAT? SACRIFICE, ME?! NO!, DON'T TAKE ME! Take one of them!"

"Come closer, John, I need to look at you" Said the great sorcerer, gesturing with his left hand to him to come closer.

“Hello, my son" Said the sorcerer.

“Son?!" John shouted in surprise.

“SON?!" shouted Alice and the 3 guards.

“Yes you are my son, John, I will always recognize that face"

“W-what are you talking about? My dad died on a mission 11 years ago!"

"He died on a Diplomatic mission?"

“WHAT?! OF COURSE NOT ON A DIPLOMATIC ONE, W-WHAT, WHY DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS?!"

“Because I am your dad, come here son, where is the crystal I left you?"

“D-DAD, IT'S REALLY YOU?!" Said John with tears in his eyes.

“Yes, my son, it's really me" Said John father, and smiles.

“I-I can believe it, after all these years!" Said John with tears streaming down his face.

“My son, I must show something to you, but please won't be too terrified"

“Okay dad" Said John, wiping away his tears.

John's father slowly pulled down his hood, John felt a shiver go down his spine, John's father's face was distorted, no longer resembled a human or a cat, it was a distorted hybrid.

“W-What happened to you, you look like a…" Said John with a worried look on his face.

"Monster, I know, it's because of my father that I look like this,

my father is done a ritual on me, he made me stronger, better, but the cat spirit didn't like it, and it cursed me, they made I'm a monster, I'm not the man I used to be…

The goal of my mission was to get one crystal, but it turned out there were two, I managed to steal one crystal and leave it on the ground and the other took me and the guard to this world of course then I killed the guard and turned the crystal into a weapon my father taught me that how to use crystals, how to turn them into weapons...

So that no one would have such power, I destroyed all the crystals one by one, only two crystals are left, yours and mine"

“Father, y-you killed someone, that's HORRIBLE!"

“You killed my brother, you bastard!" Growled Alice.

“It does not matter, So where is the other crystal?" Said John father.

“How can you think about it now?! You killed a man!, you're a murderer!" John angrily shouted at his father.

“Murderer?! They're not even humans! They're animals! John!

I … I did what I had to, where is the crystal?!"

“The crystal was stolen" Said John with fear in his voice.

“STOLEN?!, by whom?"

“Bb-By the c-cats" Said the John slowly pointing at the three guards and Alice.

“I knew it, the cats always were a problem" Said John's father he began whispering, and his staff began to vibrate and making noises.

“What are you doing ?!, don't hurt them! They are harmless!"

In a matter of second the staff shot 3 shorts beam of energy, Alice and the 2 guards started to winced in pain on the ground.

“Alice!" shouted John and rushed to her.

She had a black hole burned on her chest, Blood was flowing from her mouth.

"Take the crystal, save us, like you save me a few months ago" Alice said as she slowly closed her eyes.

"Alice?!" John started shaking Alice violently, but to no avail.

Alice and 2 guards died.

"YOU BASTARD WHY DID YOU DO THAT!?, WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO THEY!, WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO HER!" Said John with tears in his eyes, John stood up and hid the crystal behind his back.

"DO YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT THEM, BOY?! YOU ARE MORE STUPID THAN I THOUGHT!" shouted John's father, aiming at the last guard.

“..." John stood between his father and the last guard, blocking the shot.

“The crystals listen to us, son, we can turn them into powerful weapons, we should rule this world! And the earth too, thanks to this crystal, John's father lifted his staff in the air, I can do practically everything, I'm just too old…

I don't have enough strength anymore, but with you by my side it will be different, join me, my son, and together we will clean this world!"

“I will never team up with a murderer! YOU ARE INSANE!, YOU HAVE TO STOP!"

“Don't tell me what to do, boy!" Said John, father getting closer and pushing him away, John fall on the ground.

John grabbed the crystal with both hands and focused on his thoughts, he wanted to protect the people of this world, he wanted to defeat his father. Suddenly, after a few seconds, the crystal begins to transform into a staff.

John got up and walked over to his father.

“John you have 10 seconds if you don't move away I'll destroy you too, don't do this to me son, together we can do great things!"

“... I WON'T DO IT"

“You did it to yourself!" John's dad said, pointing his staff at him, the dark crystal staff began to pulse brighter, ready to shot.

“Come on, do something, you stupid rock" John in panic said, and grip his staff tighter, suddenly his staff worked, white and black beam clashes, John staff began violently vibrating.

"JOHN, you can stop this! You are too weak to deal with my power! , I will crush you in a matter of minutes! Just surrender and I will spare you"

"I DON'T CARE! HOW MANY PEOPLE DID YOU KILL BEFORE THEY?! I AM NOT DOING THIS FOR ME! "

These words amazed the last guard.

John's staff began slowly cracking.

That's not good… I have to outsmart him somehow, John thought.

"Let's battle in the sky" Said John father and began floating.

"Like you need to ask!" Shouted John to his floating father.

“Run, save yourself!" Shouted John to the last guard and flew away.

The last guard stood in place, shaking in fear.

Suddenly, John realized where his father was going.

The village! , I must stop him!

John father stops midair, floating over the village.

"See those rocks? You're about to hear them screams!" John's father said, as he sent several beams of energy upwards, causing an avalanche of boulders that rushed towards the village.

"NO!" Shouted John and flew to his father.

John sent a few energy beams at his father, his white staff began cracking more.

John hit his father with a powerful energy beam, hammering him into the ground near the cliff.

“LET'S FINISH THIS ON A HARD GROUND!" Shouted John, landing near the edge of the cliff.

His father stand up, and wipe the dust off himself.

"WHAT? Do you want to save them? Did they treat you well?

I think no! WHY do you feel sorry for them?!"

"BECAUSE YOU KILLED SO MANY OF THEIR PEOPLE!, YOU KILLED THE GIRL I WAS IN LOVE WITH!"

“That yellow hair girl, huh? Don't worry, when I'm done with you, I won't rest until I've killed them all," Said John father with laughter.

“NOOOO!" shouted John charging, sending all of his strength into one attack, the attack was powerful enough to only stun and blind his father for a short period of time.

But that was too much for the staff, because of the attack and of the cracks, John staff broke into a million pieces.

John grab over his father staff and tries to take it.

John began to feel that the staff were feeding on his life force and strength, John's father snapped out from the stun and regained his sight.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO, KILL ME?"

"YES!"

"YOU DON'T HAVE THE COURAGE TO DO IT, YOU NEVER HAVE!" John's father tried to point his corrupted staff at his son's head and shoot him, but John resisted.

“TAKE YOUR HAND OFF, IF YOU DO, MAYBE I WILL SPARE YOU!"

“NEVER!"

John using his strength overcomes his weak father, and points the dark staff at his father head.

"FAREWELL, DAD!" John said, firing a beam at his father's head.

His father loses grip on his cane and falls off a cliff. John watches his father fall to the bottom of the cliff. John starts to cry, but a loud bang interrupts his tears.

"THE VILLAGE, I FORGOT, I MUST SAVE THEM!"

John, flying, began to destroy the boulders one by one, after finish he began flying over to the Alice and guards.

Because of the dark staff, his veins turned black, his skin began to wrinkle, his life force began to die quickly, his whole body began to ache.

Ahh, that's nothing, I-I still have to do one thing

John lands in front of the three dead people, the last guard, didn't move an inch.

"Human, what happened to the other one?" Said the last guard, still shivering in fear.

"He is gone" Said John, and went closer to the bodies.

"Did you...?"

"Yes…"

John held the dark staff, and began to heal Alice and the guards, the staff began to crack.

After reviving the three, John knew exactly what he had to do, "TIME TO END THIS MADNESS!" John shouted, crushing his father's staff on his knee, the black staff broke in two pieces.

“JOHN!" shouted Alice, standing up.

John's body looked terrible, every visible vein turned black.

His skin was damaged a lot, he looked awfully weak and emaciated, his eyes were completely black his cheeks were sunken, he was seconds away from death.

John, took his last breath and managed to say those 3 words "Sorry, for everything" then he fell to the ground without strength.

Alice ran to him and grabbed his shoulders, “JOHN, WAKE UP! JOHN PLEASE! DON'T DO THAT TO ME!"

The guard approached Alice, put his hand on her shoulder and started to pull her away.

"There's nothing we can do, he's gone," said the guard.

“DON'T SAY THINGS LIKE THAT! JOHN, PLEASE WAKE UP!" Alice began violently shaking John's lifeless body.

“Miss, he is gone, we can't do anything for him"

“NO, NO! THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO!"

Alice looked around only to see the broken staff.

STAFF! Alice grabs the two pieces and trying to assemble it together, she pressed the two pieces to Jonah's body hoping they would work.

“COME ON, DO SOMETHING, YOU STUPID PIECE OF ROCK!" Alice hit the ground hard with the parts, both parts shattered into pieces.

“Miss, look at the staff!"

Inside the staff was a little white crystal inside, shining bright white.

Alice took the white crystal and placed it in John's left hand and placed it on his chest and whispered:

“Please heal him, I've already lost so much, I can't lose him either"

Alice began to cry, tears streaming down her face.

Suddenly something unexpected happened.

The crystal began to melt into John's hand and disappear, merging with him.

“What's going on?" Alice asked the guard.

“I've never seen anything like it" Said the guard amazed.

John's injuries began to disappear, his veins slowly regained their natural color, his skin rejuvenated, his eyes returned to their natural color.

John coughed, looked at Alice, and stammered "w-what happened, I thought..."

Alice helped him up and hugged him tight "shut up, my fool"

"Your fool?" He said and smiles.

"Yes! Mine and always mine" She hugged him tighter.

After a few hours, everyone regained their strength and returned safely to the village.

John on the way explained to them what was going on before their revival.

"I saw this human and a sorcerer flying in the sky and an avalanche of rocks. What happened?" Alice's mother asked them.

"It was John, he saved us, he saved us all, even though he's from a different clan, even though he should be our enemy, he's a hero!" Alice shouted.

The only guard, who saw it all, confirmed her speech and bowed to John and said:

"I saw everything, this man was willing to sacrifice everything to protect us, we are grateful to you"

"That's true?" Asked the shocked leader to Alice.

“Yes mother, John kills … his dad, and save us all"

“I am sorry for the sacrifice you must do, John" Said the leader to him.

“It's okay ma'am, when I realize he was a killer, I just must have done it, to save your village, and me"

“So, let's have a feast for John, and let's greet him as one of us, as a hero!" Shouted the leader.

After living safely in the village for a few weeks, John had everything he wanted, nothing threatened him or anyone else, but he began to miss his family and friends on earth, John and Alice went to the clan leader's house.

"W-May I ask you something, ma'am," John said to her.

"Don't call me ma'am. I'm Lea" said Alice's mother.

"O-okay right, Lea, would you be mad if I will return to my world … with your daughter?"

"I had a feeling you were coming to ask that, what do you think my daughter" She looked over Alice.

“I want to come with John, mother, I'm sure of it" she said and smiles.

After some time john and Alice were sitting in their hut, john holding Alice's hand said the password aloud, John began to glow and vibrate slightly and they both rose a few meters above the ground, they were surrounded by white again, they were alone, a few seconds passed, and they found themselves weakened on the street.

"We are..." Said Alice.

"Home" Confirms John.

Thanks to the crystal merged with John, Alice even in the earth remained in her true form.

After some time…

John was spending another peaceful day with Alice.

"John, are we going to visit my family?"

"Sure"

“Can we go now?"

“Okay, hold my hand"

John said aloud the password, a few seconds passed, and again they were enveloped in familiar whiteness…

Meanwhile, back on earth…

“After all these years we finally have this crystal, now we only need the password" Said a voice.

“Boss We know where the last protector is hiding, we saw her a couple of times, but she is still in her true form" another voice said.

“That's strange… but we now know where to strike…"
