To say that the move to Tropico had caused significant upheaval for the former Senator would be, broadly speaking, an understatement. He'd done pretty well for himself in politics, even if his personal life hadn't flourished to the same extent. During his first campaign for election, his wife divorced him. That had, likely, played a significant part in how vigorously he'd thrown himself into his political career the way that he had... and become quite so fanatical. It hadn't been the best experience in his life and hadn't led him to make the best choices.

The panic surrounding the transhuman changes had been a very profitable issue to latch onto. Looking back, he understood that he could have done much more to cool the tensions surrounding the changes, but the fear they generated had been too politically useful for him at the time, and he was still wrestling with his guilt over what he'd done.

Thankfully, being here on Tropico in the wake of the fur exodus did a lot to bring him peace. He'd done a lot of harm, yes, but now he was able to be part of the healing process. He was glad that Brett and Jim had made it to the island as well. They'd never quite been the same since their run-in with Cadi in the district, even more so than had been the case with Parson himself. Cassidy had fared better, but she'd never been a true fanatic, herself. Just a damn fine pilot, and very loyal to her boss.

Early on, he'd made the decision to step away from the internal politics of the island. He'd spent far too much time dictating how the furs would live leading up to the exodus, and he had come to understand just how poorly he'd done. They didn't need his advice in that department. At most, he advised with what amounted to international politics, seeing as Tropico was now a truly sovereign nation in its own right, even if no other nation even knew of its existence in order to recognize it on the global stage.

Still, he was able to provide insight into how the other nations of the world regarded them and the ins and outs of the political debates. He was even able to make suggestions on who would be best to make contact in order to prepare their best case.

But, outside of occasional advising like that, he turned his attention to the more hands-on elements of building the new city and community. He had very little experience in construction, but he cast aside his pride and set to work learning the skills he would need in order to do this kind of work. To his surprise, he actually found that working with his hands was actually very satisfying on a deep... almost spiritual level.

With all of his grand words, he'd made a real mess of things for people who had honestly done nothing wrong. Now, by setting aside the rhetoric, he was able to make real changes that would improve the lives of the citizens of this new island.

For the time being, he had settled into a home with Cassidy, Brett, and Jim. It was certainly humbler than what he'd gotten used to, but that didn't bother him in the least. He'd helped to build it, and it just felt... right. Even the little imperfections in how he'd put things together made the place feel like it was his in a way that very little else in his life had.

They had all been changed by their experience with Cadi, though Brett in particular had been impacted by the experience. He'd fit in well with the old Parson, with arrogance and a sense of superiority that suited the senator at the time. His particular sense of superiority had been more directed at women, which he had instinctively turned on Cadi during their initial confrontation.

Since then, though, his attitude toward women had shifted dramatically. His previously open misogyny had vanished, replaced with open reverence for women. Cassidy had been rather tickled by how well he'd treated her after the encounter, though she was gracious enough to not try to humiliate him, even if she did tease him more than a little. Since coming to the island, though, it had become an even more pronounced change. He was visibly more comfortable in the company of women, acting like... well, one of the girls.

The other three, who had known him the best before coming to the island were thoroughly amused by his change, but none of them took advantage of him for it. If anything, Brett's change helped Jim to become even more relaxed, himself, often taking extra time to spend with Brett (who had, honestly, made Jim uncomfortable before) during their downtime, walking around the growing city, having meals together, or even spending time together on the beach.

Privately, Cassidy mentioned to Parson that the two of them were acting more like a couple than anything else, which the former senator really couldn't argue with.

There was a bit of a surprise one morning, when, as the household was getting up and puttering around for breakfast, Cassidy and Jim were chatting over coffee at the table while Parson worked on breakfast in the kitchen, a collie walked into the room.

She was topless, wearing only a pair of pajama pants the way that Brett usually did, and very visibly still waking up. She let out a nice, big yawn and stretched, pressing her modest b-cup breasts forward as she walked over to the kitchen. She reached down and scratched herself through the pants while her other hand pulled down Brett's coffee cup and set it on the counter, filling it before staggering over to the table and slumping down into one of the seats.

She spooned some sugar into it before she took a nice, long drink from the coffee and sighed very happily. They could see her eyes clearing as she looked at the two of them, a big old smile on her face. “Morning, guys. What's up? Is my hair super funky this morning?"

The voice wasn't Brett's, but the way she spoke was Brett's. The two of them just stared dumbfounded at her for a long moment before Jim cleared his throat and spoke, “Brett?"

The collie laughed and smirked at him. “Yeah. Who else would it be?"

Cassidy exchanged a look with Jim while Parson was looking around the kitchen, finding a nice, silver serving tray that had been on the yacht when it had come to Tropico. He brought it over and placed a hand on the collie's shoulder, saying, “Brett? You should have a look at yourself," he said as he held the tray to where it would reflect his... her new appearance.

She looked very confused about what was going on for a long moment before her eyes went wide and she jumped back a little, barely managing to keep from toppling out of her chair. After she'd steadied herself, she took a closer look at herself in the mirror, just trying to process what she was seeing. When her eyes went down to her chest, she saw that she had a pair of breasts, and her white cheeks flushed pink as she quickly crossed her arms over her chest and dashed back to her bedroom.

There were sounds of whimpering and fussing as she rummaged about with the door closed. After a while, she came back out, her tail all but tucked between her legs as she now had a shirt (though visibly no bra) on. Her ears were folded back flat against her head, and her eyes were only a little puffy, but at least dry as she looked at the other three. “I... I'm going to need new clothes... I guess..." she said, her voice very soft... scared, even.

Jim got up and came over to her, smiling gently. “Hey, at least you're in a good place to get a new wardrobe," he said with a little laugh. He was being careful to keep everything about his tone and body language very nice and gentle, making sure that she wouldn't see him as threatening. “And, hey... for what it is worth, you are really cute. It suits you."

Her ears perked up a little at that, and as she looked to the other two, and got smiles and nods of confirmation, she actually started to properly smile, her tail starting to wag as her ears stood taller on her head. She began to laugh and cry at the same time, going straight to Jim and hugging him tightly, burying her face in his chest. She was decently shorter now as a collie, and Jim just sighed softly as he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tenderly. They really had been growing much closer over their time on the island, and it was pretty clear to see that there was some real substance there. It gave both of them a good smile.

After a little while, Cassidy came up to Brett, smiling as she rubbed her shoulder softly. “I'll take you to go get clothes..." she said, trailing off a little, not really sure how to refer to her now.

It clicked for her what the snag was, and Brett smiled sheepishly, “It doesn't really fit me anymore... Beth?" That got a bit of laughter and nodding from the others.

“Beth sounds just right for you, cutie," Cassidy said, giving Beth a nice, big hug before the two of them set out to get Beth a... better fitting wardrobe.
