A nekomata attempts to hurt the humans where they least expect it, employing the raw brute force power of an oni to channel her magic through! With their strongest incapacitated, a yokai B team dispatches to stop the demonic kaiju before she can stomp Kyoto flat!

1890 Kyoto, Japan

Inari is the earthly okami of rice, and by extension; full plates and full cups. Fox act as his messengers and bring good fortune to those in need, as the okami are prohibited from interfering directly in mortal affairs. It is no surprise then that an entire mountain is named after him, and in this place the Inari Grand Shrine has stood since the year 711. As a general go-to kami for good fortune and wellbeing, this became a very important icon for the people. As donations from people of authority for inspiring the people, and gifts from those devout- the shrine started to accumulate a great number of torii gates. Eventually amassing 10,000 gates to line the very long stairs that wind up the mountain to the shrine at the top- a sight unreplicated anywhere else.

Keiko is a fox who ascended to become a yokai a long, long time ago now. Taught by a wise human master to always look out for those around her- she made it her mission to help people. It only made sense she would ultimately come to rest here, in the grand shrine. Since fox are Inari's messengers; she does not even need to hide her true form while being in the shrine- she just needs to hide the fact that she has seven tails instead of one. Her lover the tanuki Daisuke lives with her here at the shrine but in the guise of a chubby human priest. His bodyguard Hatsuko the tengu flies around the shrine constantly keeping a watch over things- but in the form of a simple crow.

For a time the trio had travelled around Japan looking for trouble that needed fixing, but eventually settled down here. Times were changing, and aimlessly wandering was not a particularly effective means of tracking down problems. There was a time where you could walk in any direction and find someone in need- so it didn't matter where you went, someone needed you somewhere. Inari is on the lookout for problems with the mortals to look after them, as well as his large network of myobu kitsune. This is the place to be for any news on the matter, so even though Keiko is not a myobu herself, this location still made the most sense to be in. And Inari has no problem with her living here. She welcomes all fox already- but Keiko especially, for all she has done for so many people.

And for all of these reasons- a nekomata has set her sights on the shrine. Senri wanders the bottom of the path, but dares not ascend the steps too far at risk of being detected. Nekomata have black hearts and are fueled on their hatred of humans. Because this shrine is such a beacon of hope- destroying it would hurt a lot of humans, make them vulnerable. Attacking the humans around here would be pointless- Inari would send his myobu out immediately and stop her or simply reverse whatever damage she managed to do. Therefore the only way to actually hurt the humans is to first remove their guardians. Senri did not have any desire to hurt anyone other than the humans- but she had no choice at this point. She had been looking into a plan for quite some time now, and is finally ready to enact it.

Senri wanders up the stairs slowly and cautiously. She remains in the form of a normal black cat- but her true form has the forked tail that mark all nekomata. She wanders the edge of the path in the mortal realm but her perception is within the spirit realm at the moment- looking at markings on all the torii gates that only exist on that side. Torii act as gateways between the different planes of reality, so normally having more than one would be sort of pointless- it would be like having a doorway immediately after another doorway without a room in between. Some of these gates however have been tethered to torii gates elsewhere. So entering the gate in the spirit realm at this shrine will cause you to exit a completely different gate somewhere else. She found one that was covered in prayer slips- sealing it from being used. This gate leads to Onigashima; a wandering island populated entirely by demons. This is near the bottom of the steps though and one of the elder gates- it has been a very long time since anyone renewed the seals on it. They are worn out. Senri only has to use her claws to scratch off a few of the slips before she is able to activate the gate!

She has already scouted an oni ahead of time- by the name of Moru. The two have a bit in common, but given how most oni behave- she is still going to approach this very carefully. Moru was not born a demon you see- she was a human, long, long ago. Her old identity behind her and faded along with her original name. She was outcast simply for being unusually big for a woman. Handed off to family that did not appreciate her, looked down on for being different, and eventually betrayed- her rage burned away her humanity. Oni can sense the hate boiling within humans and are attracted to it- as it often results in the blood and battle they live for. Moru specifically seeks out those like her who are outcast for being different- and destroys those who taunt them. In this more modern era however... the torii gates leading into the mortal realm are almost always sealed with prayer slips... preventing her from smashing anyone.

Moru's house on Onigashima is a simple place- cobbled together as a patchwork of material but still well maintained. The property is lined with a fence of standing bones, capped with a collection of skulls of the various beasts she has hunted. She was a hunter when she used to be human. Among the collection of visible skulls however; several are human, and Senri even spots the skull of a one-eyed oni.

She chose Moru over any other oni because she used to be human, and even ow- retains the most human-like heart of any of the residents of Onigashima. Senri has no leverage over the ogre demons, so trying to employ their help will most likely fail- and if we are being honest they will probably just try to kill Senri for shits and giggles. So her only shot is to manipulate them, and for that reason Moru is the easiest target. Nekomata are masters of black magic, so when she spoke to Moru it was not with a normal voice. Her dark whispers asked her of her past, and wove an exaggerated tail of how such things continue to this day, and have gotten even worse! Moru got angry easily from these tales but that is what Senri wanted. Using her dark magic- she can control anger. Anger is very violent and destructive, and also very predictable. Easy for her to direct. She took control of Moru using their shared hate for humans.

Senri smirked at her handiwork as she brought Moru back to the torii gate to bring her to Kyoto. An oni doesn't have the power to do much harm with Inari watching over the city, nor does a nekomata. But an oni empowered by a nekomata? Now we are getting somewhere. She has made a pawn of Moru, abusing her humanity- and now can use her as a weapon to destroy the humans. She keeps Moru occupied in an internal loop of thoughts while she heads up to the shrine now as the sun starts to set. Before she unleashes the super-charged Moru on the city, she needs to get rid of Keiko. A seven tails with a well-versed resume of helping people... there is no way she would allow Senri to do anything and she is in the shrine, so far too close to where Senri is doing this.

She skittered between the feet of the last few visitors to the shrine as they descended the steps and she dashed up them. No one thinks to question a regular black cat running around- they assume she is just a random stray. Senri knows better than to try and attack Keiko. She will not likely win a fight against a seven-tailed fox, especially when Inari's other myobu start to dog-pile her. Like with Moru; Senri is going to have to remove Keiko with deception rather than direct confrontation.

Keiko skittered toward Daisuke making quiet, rapid yipping sounds as she darts up to him. He was still in his human disguise, checking to be sure all the mortal guests at the shrine were gone already. He had his back turned, but turned around to see what she was yipping about- only to have her land on his chest, almost making him fall over in surprise.

"Oh! Jeeze, Keiko. What if there was still guests around?"

"I still look like a normal fox. And they are gone~"

Daisuke sighed, turning into his demi-human form again. Keiko plopped down off his chest landing on his scrotum, sliding down the loose skin to bop into his immense testicles- each one the size of a yoga ball. She climbed up the cleft between them and flopped down, resting her chin against the soft skin and rolling back and forth on it softly.

"Mmmmhmm, so warm!"

"Do you mind?"

"Oh not at all."

"Sigh." He could not move with her on his nuts.

Hatsuko landed on the edge of a shrine building just to their right. "Nothing of note to report lord Daisuke." She glanced at Keiko and scoffed. "Is this pervert bothering you?"

Daisuke chuckled, making his round belly jostle. "No more than usual. You know Hatsuko... it probably is not particularly likely that one of the largest shrines in all of Japan is going to be attacked by anything. You don't have to... scan the area all the time. News of trouble elsewhere comes here- you protect us when we head out. No one is going to be dumb enough to attack the Grand Inari Shrine."

"Rest would only dull my senses. I would rather be on alert even when it is not necessary."

Daisuke huffed and shrugged. "Have it your way."

He got tired of waiting for Keiko to move so he just grabbed up some of the loose skin on the front of his scrotum and picked her up- using his scrotum like a bag to carry her in. Hatsuko joined them briefly for dinner before turning back into a crow and finding a nice, high place to roost for the night. Keiko always watches her when she eats. It is impressive to see a tengu who does not have hands eating rice with chopsticks, by using her feet. She is also always trying to peek behind the mask at Hatsuko's human face, but Hatsuko is adept at eating and drinking around her mask without removing it. No one knows what her face looks like. As a tengu she is not especially good at shapeshifting- so every time she takes on her demi human form the face is going to be the same. She cannot freely change her face to blend into crowds like Keiko can- she has only one face, but no one has seen it, she never removes the mask.

There is never a shortage of rice and sake at the shrine thanks to Inari, though it is not quite the same as the cooking for the kappa Shironami. They used to have Shironami cook for them all the time back at Daisuke's forest castle, but now that they live here at the shrine, they go without except for special occasions. Senri's piercing eyes can see just as well in absolute darkness as they can in the day- if not better. She stuck to the outskirts of the shrine so her black body melded into the darkness of night as the metallic orange glow of dusk faded to the dark purple of early night. Crickets sang their songs as everyone finished their dinners and headed off to get comfortable and sleep. Senri was getting nervous watching them. Hatsuko was most likely asleep first- but Senri cannot actually see her, because she only sleeps in crow form, which means she is hidden on a rooftop so if she wakes up she will be able to spot anything amiss, immediately. The other problem is Keiko and Daisuke sleep together. She needs to somehow get Keiko alone. She is also struggling to keep Moru under control at the base of the mountain so no one detects her, either.

Senri cannot even attempt to slip into the spirit realm to get to them from that side- because the shrine is covered in myobu kitsune on that side of reality. Senri ended up having to wait all the way till morning! Hatsuko woke up first and flew into the sky at the first sign of light touching her black feathers, but she flew out and away from the shrine to scan the surrounding area- so she was not looking at the shrine itself. Daisuke woke up next, taking his human appearance to help prepare the shrine for the day's guests. Keiko however remained soundly asleep. Senri quickly snuck in- falling into the shadows of the early morning as if they were a hole in the ground and re-emerging from another in her bedroom. Senri tapped Keiko lightly on the head, using her black magic to trap Keiko in a rather pleasant dream. This would make it so that she does not wake up- because she will not want to wake up. Senri has no ire for fox- she only needs Keiko out of the way to get to the humans, so she did not resort of violence this time.

Senri smiled as Keiko moaned in her sleep, and went to jump down back into the shadows but Keiko curled over, pinning her forked tail to the bed! Ah crap! She cannot yank her tail out from under Keiko at risk of waking her up! Senri growled in annoyance- she is pinned till the damn vixen rolls over again. Oh well- no need to wait. She released Moru at the base of the mountain ahead of her to start the carnage. Moru's power is fed by her fury- and Senri has her trapped in a loop of rancid memories from both Moru's past, and Senri's own ill-fated encounters with humans. Moru is currently blind to the real world- and will attack anything she encounters without realizing what it actually is in the real world. Because Senri herself does not need to do any heavy lifting- she can funnel all of her power into Moru instead, to deform her into something truly monstrous.

Keiko started sucking on the end of Senri's tail in her sleep. "Eeew, oh come the fuck on. Gross.... you dumb fox."

Moru trudged through the streets growling, clutching her kanabo maul in her hand. The handle was long enough to hold in two hands but she was more than strong enough to swing it in only one. Normally the body of it is covered in metal bumps but she empowers it when ready for battle, both growing the entire weapon to twice its previous size and four times in previous weight; but transforming those bumps into long, savage spikes as well. Moru's eyes were open but seen nothing that was actually ahead of her. Senri's black magic trapped her in vivid, looping thoughts of jumbled memories and emotions.

Moru stands absolutely massive in spite of being a woman- something that was true before she was a demon too. Her skin is bright red and pulled taut over her sleek but well defined muscles. The sklera of her eyes is pitch black, but her iris contrast this by being bright yellow and her pupils wide slits. Her ears are tall and pointed as are the tusks that frame her mouth, and her head is adorned with two long narrow horns that share the same color as her skin. Her nails are short black claws. Moru's hair is wild, lashing every which way and black as night, along with her bushy eyebrows. Like most Oni- she does not adorn herself with much in terms of clothing. A worn loincloth made of tiger skin over her nethers and her breasts capped with hollowed human skulls, connected by a chain around her- her supple flesh billowing out the eye sockets slightly.

Luckily; there are few people awake enough at this time to be out and about yet- everyone was still in their homes rubbing the sleep from their eyes and getting dressed to go to work. In this era the roads are paved, but actual cars were just a whisper on the horizon still. The closest vehicle you will find here are carts- often pulled by people rather than horses due to how populated the area is and how tightly packed the streets are. Moru lunged forward and swung her kanabo so hard she splintered a telephone pole in one stroke! The poll fell and ripped out the power lines causing the power for the entire street to black out. It did not take long for people to look out their windows to see what the bang was and see an oni in broad daylight! Immediately terrified, they questioned the truth of all the old legends and hid in their homes. They could not call for the authorities- Moru cut their power. And they aren't going to leave their homes if there is a literal demon outside.

Moru picked up a shintai boulder, lifted it in one hand and tossed it half a mile through the air and through the roof of another house in the distance! She dragged the maul on the ground, breaking the pavement as she went, swinging at anything she approached; breaking fences, palisade walls, more electrical polls, carts, anything. When the road turned- she did not. She walked right up to the house on the corner as if it were not there at all, smashed her way through the front door, all of the walls, and out the back of the house while the terrified residents cowered in the corners hoping she did not see them. The flaw with Senri's plan is that in order for her to properly control Moru; Moru can't actually see what she is doing. If she doesn't know what she is doing she cannot target humans- she is just blindly destroying whatever.

Hatsuko seen the sparks as the power lines snapped and then seen the shintai stone flying through the air, dropping down lower to see what was causing the carnage. When she seen Moru, Hatsuko immediately took her demi-human form and dropped out of the sky, landing onto Moru's shoulders directly out of the air!

Before she could close her talons into Moru's flesh, Moru casually reached up, grabbed her long narrow leg and swung Hatsuko's entire body through the air and used her as a club to smash a cart to bits, before letting her go and continuing to walk uninterrupted.

"Fucking... ow." Hatsuko slowly stood up from the broken cart- a few cuts from the splintered wood hitting her.

Hatsuko slammed her wings down to stagger Moru slightly with a shockwave of wind before diving at the demon again- this time slamming her talons into her flesh first! Moru swung the kanabo as she turned around, but Hatsuko fell too low and the weapon swung over her as she fell, but Moru's other fist slammed into her side, winding her and tossing her away again. This time she managed to actually get Moru's attention. Which might not be a good thing.

Hatsuko did not even have time to get up off the ground, having to roll to the side to avoid the maul coming down hard enough to shatter the concrete below! Hatsuko fired herself into the air using wind magic again and swung a foot at Moru! Moru leaned back but the talons still grazed her flesh- leaving three thin black lines of blood on her flesh. Moru growled in rage, and that caused Senri's spell to activate- converting the hate into power. Moru hunched forward a bit and her muscles twitched and then swelled in size, and her entire body grew slightly overall as well!

Moru swung the maul upward- clipping the ground on the way up and shattering a gouge into the road like it was nothing. Hatsuko barely dodged back fast enough to not get the nose of her mask smashed off! The oni is growing in power? And it is already extremely strong- something was not right. Hatsuko is not one to want to rely on others, but something was not right about this situation. She reverted to the form of a crow and flew off back toward the shrine to tell the others- Moru just grunt and resumes her path of carnage; unable to do anything to Hatsuko when she is airborne.

Back at the shrine; Keiko was letting out some quiet, sleep-diffused giggles and squirming around in her sleep more, occasionally thrusting her hip down onto the bed. Senri sat at the edge of the bed pouting because she still could not move with her tail pinned under the fox. The dream she induced in Keiko would be a very pleasant one- and apparently it was of romping with Daisuke. This is how Senri prevented her from waking up; the dream is pleasant enough that she will actively avoid looking for cracks in the continuity of it. Finally Keiko rolled onto her back with her paws limp in the air over her- her six very erect black nub teats exposed through her fur. Senri immediately jumped off the bed before she had the chance to roll back into place and pin her again.

"Finally..." She phased into the spirit realm so she could walk through where the door is without needing to actually open it- but then seen Hatsuko approaching the shrine and immediately slipped back into the mortal side. "CRAP."

Senri needed to get to Moru to be as effective as possible- sending her power to Moru was less direct and thus less effective. To fully give her Senri's power; Senri planned to use possession on the demon, since her guard is forced down already. But if they already found out about Moru; now Keiko's friends will be between Senri and Moru, preventing her from getting there. She can't even leave this building without getting caught till they leave to fight Moru first!

Hatsuko hastily told Daisuke about the rampaging oni, and halfway into her explanation Inari herself manifested before them out of concern. Inari's female form is beautiful, though her raven hair peppered with silver hairs. Like the male form of Inari; her attire is well made and well-kept but of modest, earthen colors. Though her face is not marked by creases like the male Inari; her age is visible in her demeanor and the fading of her hair.

Inari nodded at Hatsuko's story when she was done explaining the situation fully. "If the oni had a plot it would not be rampaging so aimlessly, knowing full well that it would attract our attention. It must have been difficult to even break into this side of reality, if it went through all that trouble I would expect her to put a little more effort into what she is doing. So, something is definitely amiss- it was wise of you to tall back and try to analyze the situation before rushing in."

Daisuke sighed- returning to his normal form instead of the priest since they were about to head out. "How do we even handle this? The oni has revealed itself in broad daylight... won't this cause mass panic in the mortals?"

Inari crossed her arms and sighed, pouting a bit. "Leave that part to me. I cannot interfere with the battle, but to preserve the border between mortal and half-mortals; I will use my powers to erase this from memory."

Hatsuko tilted her head. "You can do that? That sounds like more of Tsukuyomi's thing?"

Inari shrugged. "Memory wipe is- but we need not erase this entirely. Simply weave a false narrative into the right heads of authority and the rest is regarded as rumor. The people will forget it on their own afterward."

Daisuke nodded. "So for now, just work on stopping the oni. Alright, we better get going. Every moment here is another person that demon can kill."

Daisuke dashed to Keiko but found her still sleeping, and blushed at her moaning and nibbling on her pillow. He attempted to wake her up, then harder, then calling to her and shaking her and still she remained sleeping. Daisuke had no reason to look straight down- so he failed to notice the red cat eyes inside of his shadow, as Senri's disembodied shadow joined into it, and then Senri herself emerged from the back of it to slip out the door behind Daisuke.

Inari appeared at the doorway a moment later, wondering what was the trouble now. "I can see an unnatural blockage in her aura... her rest is not natural."

Daisuke looked real worried at that. "What? Someone is forced her asleep?! What do we do?"

Inari took a deep breath and held it a moment while she thought. "I can try to wake her, but it will take time and I may not be able to without first discerning what is causing her tumulus sleep. I will call in aid for you in her place... you may have to do this without Keiko."

"But is she okay?! What is wrong with her? Who did this, the oni?!"

Inari smiled sympathetically. "Keiko is fine- she is not hurt in any way." Keiko moaned again and Inari motioned toward her. "And it does not sound like she is having a particularly unpleasant experience. This does not seem to coincide with what I would expect from an oni. Given the demon herself is also not acting normally- I anticipate we have more than one foe."

Daisuke grumbled. "So to snap her out of it- we need to figure out who is pulling the strings. You can send us many multi-tailed fox to help though, right?"

Inari looked a little ashamed a moment, scratching her head nervously. "Eh... well, about that. I need the myobu as my hands to aid the humans, so all of the multi-tailed myobu have been dispatched around all of Japan to help as many people as possible. The only myobu at my actual shrine are the one-tails you always see around, who are either newly recruited or still in training to be a proper myobu kitsune."

He lowered his brows. "So Keiko can't wake up and we have no backup."

"N-no! I have a multi-tailed myobu who is close enough. It may take him a bit to get here, but he is already on the way."

Daisuke had wasted enough time trying to wake the unwakable Keiko, and hastily charged off the edge of the shrine grounds- off the edge of the mountain itself! He tumbled through the air in his feral tanuki form a bit before grabbing his scrotum and stretching the thick, malleable skin between his four limbs. The scrotum caught the wind and billowed out- allowing him to glide down to the streets below as if riding a kite! Hatsuko rushed ahead in crow form, but did not intend to actually try and stop Moru before her master arrived- she just needed to slow the oni down and prevent her from killing people. Five people have already perished to Moru in the meantime- killed in their very homes as Moru walks through the walls like they were made of tissue paper. The streets of Kyoto are deliberately made to be confusing- as was a common tactic in the feudal era, to dissuade enemy invaders from getting to the castle at the city heart. Moru however walks in a perfectly straight line, regardless of where the roads turn, so every time there is a corner she ends up plowing straight through to the other side.

Senri raced to get to Moru, arriving at the same time as Hatsuko- but from the right while Hatsuko approached from the left. Senri stopped to make sure she keeps enough distance that the others do not see her. If something goes horribly wrong and she needs to pull out- she would rather be able to do so while hidden. If they see her enter Moru they will know what they are up again and how to counter it. Senri arched her back and hissed as Moru stomped past a stray cat and swung her maul in a circle to smash the cat in the face. Senri's power gripped her and forced her to stumble- the stray had enough time to realize it was in danger and dart away, the demon did not follow it.

Several police officers arrived on the street just ahead of Moru. Her trail of carnage is long enough that the police found out on their own without anyone needing to call them. Her path is also obvious enough that they were able to try and cut her off. They immediately opened fire with their flintlock rifles. Moru was hit by two bullets and swung haphazardly at them- managing to deflect a third bullet off her maul.

The police captain arrived by bicycle behind the others just as Moru started to charge! None of them had time to reload their guns so they drew their swords. The officers were trembling in fear except their captain, but they still stood their ground. Hatsuko turned to her demi-human form and landed talon's first into Moru's back, using her talons hooked in her red flesh to spin her around and then clapped her wings- blasting Moru back and away from the humans with a wall of wind!

The police captain was yet again unfazed by the appearance of a tengu, addressing his underlings with an unusual calm. "We have orders to withdraw. Focus your efforts on evacuating the houses in her path- and if you still have time left over; make roadblocks, try to stop her indirectly."

"Sir?"

"Orders came down from above our precinct- this has been deemed some sort of divine intervention, and not a fight meant for humans. Using your guns will only make that thing angrier. Our priority is saving lives, not ending this one."

"Yes sir." They bowed to him and dashed away, to try to race ahead of Moru's path and clear people out.

The captain however did not leave with them, he crossed his arms and remained observing the fight from the sidelines.

Moru roared at Hatsuko and threw her maul at her in an attempt to smash the tengu out of the air! Hatsuko was not at all expecting her to discard her own weapon, so had to fold her wings in and use gravity to help drop her fast enough to get out of the way- and even then several of the spikes on the maul's body grazed her, leaving a thin but painful cut across her entire midriff! It especially stung because it was not a blade that cut her- it was the point of a spike dragging sideways across her.

Moru's yellow iris started to glow brighter, but the coloration started to darken to golden. Senri's red eye color was very slowly bleeding into it as the nekomata's own powers blended with the oni. Her black veins darkened and swelled, projecting more from the surface of her body as she started to grow again! She did not grow evenly- her body grew in overall size but her upper body grew in muscle mass as well, slowly making it disproportionately large compared to her lower body. The claws on her hands grew longer, her muscles bulged larger till her arms were twice the size of her legs and her back and neck muscles so bulbous she has a hunch. Her arms started to grow larger and longer- smearing a bit of her own black blood up the length as they grew out so rapidly it made her bleed. Her tusks started to grow longer as well. Her breath waves in the air from the heat. At fifteen feet tall now- she is as tall as most of the houses here. While her body grew- the holes made by the bullets did not, causing them to be increasingly less significant of a wound.

Daisuke arrived and charged from behind, taking on his demi-human form as he approached Moru. He gently chewed the stem of a ginkgo leaf, using the leaf as a focus for his forest magic. He rushed forward with his full body weight and slammed an open palm into Moru's spine, but Moru only stumbled forward slightly and then turned to face him.

"Oh, well... that didn't do as much as I thought it would."

Moru punched at him and he transformed back to his default form to dodge the hit- landing on her giant pillar-like arm and skittering up onto her shoulder to jump off and join Hatsuko on the other side before turning back demi-human. Moru charged at them, making the ground tremble with her weight. Several police officers were now gathering around the area, but simply observing quietly like their captain. Hatsuko clapped her wings to stagger Moru back with a wind blast, but was shocked when Moru was entirely unaffected! She is so large and heavy now that Hatsuko's wind does nothing to her!

Daisuke got between them to give Hatsuko time to recover from the shock. Moru punched and he hit back- the two fists meeting with a loud crack from their knuckles colliding! Daisuke was strong enough to hold her arm back, but not strong enough to shove her off. Moru punched with the other hand and Daisuke again met her in the middle. Only a third as big as she is- it's impressive he could do anything to her. She lifted her leg to stomp him into the ground and Daisuke immediately took the opening. He spun around, transformed his tail into that of a serpent and coiled it around the leg Moru was still standing on! With another blast of wind from Hatsuko to help- the two of them managed to topple Moru onto the street.

Senri growled from where she watched the fight on a nearby rooftop. Moru's blind rage was meant to be turned on mortals who cannot hope to stop her like this. Blind rage doesn't work so great against other yokai who can actually fight her- because they can form strategies and tactics. Moru can't, she is just swinging blindly. Senri cannot return enough of her senses to reality without also risking Moru breaking free from her control, so she had no choice but try and possess the oni now, even though Hatsuko and Daisuke will see her.

Daisuke jumped into the air and transformed into a giant maul! It spun in the air before coming down and smashing Moru in the head with its weight! Two huge round bells dangled from the ring pommel- even transformed as an inanimate object Daisuke cannot fully hide his prodigious endowments. Senri dropped to the street lightly and immediately lunged at Daisuke from the side to blind-side him! All of the police officers immediately opened fire at the exact same moment- and every gun present was aimed squarely at Senri as if having been waiting for her the entire time. Senri quickly gathered shadows to herself and became intangible a moment while she dropped to the ground- the bullets flew through her from every side. There was even police officers stations on the rooftops around the area no one had even noticed till now!

Senri's glowing red eyes narrowed as she scanned them all. Those auras... none of these police are human. Their aura is too vibrant. But whatever yokai they are; they are not very strong, which enabled them to go completely undetected.

The police captain chuckled and started to walk quickly toward Senri while Moru grabbed and flung Daisuke off her to the side. "Thought you could fuck with my friend and get away with it, huh?"

Senri gathered the shadows into her body to take a much larger form- looking more like a black tiger now than a cat. "Who are you?"

The captain opened his arms to his sides and stopped, and all of the other offices quickly ran to him and started to pile up on top of him! The mass of bodies started to writhe and melt together! They seem weak to Senri because they aren't individual yokai- they are ALL ONE yokai!! Fifty pairs of arms and legs melted together and spiraled out as a single body, adorned with one hundred chitin-encased arms. Each pair of arms turns into a separate person when he takes on a human guise- so he shapeshifts as 50 different people. He is an Omukade... a yokai centipede.

A centipede the length of an entire city street curled its giant head down to her, drooling acid onto the road, melting the pavement. "I am Hyaku Token. An acquaintance of Moru here."

The police never got orders to leave Moru alone- he shapeshifted as their captain to turn them away so they would not hurt his friend. He seen Senri going to speak with Moru, so he knew she was behind all of this, and just waiting for the moment she showed herself. Senri immediately ran into Moru and possessed her before Hyaku Token could shatter her bones under his gargantuan body.

Now Moru spoke with her own voice and Senri's overlapped. Her golden eyes turned orange, deep orange, and finally red like Senri. "You've all proven to be even more annoying than I had imagined. None of you are my targets, but I will kill you if I must. Now, make my monster grow!!"

Bolts of negative light danced around Moru's body as Senri welled and twisted it even worse with her black magic. Moru quickly became so heavy she fell through the pavement, collapsing the road into the sewers! Daisuke and Hatsuko had to leap out of the way of the giant fist as she slammed her giant arms down just to balance herself while her body shifted rapidly! The sound of stretching leather as her tissue was forcefully grown at a rapid rate, the bullet holes all gone now. Her bones creaked like the floorboards of an old home and occasionally let out a hollow pop as the joints re-set at their much greater size. Bone spurs erupted from the bottom knuckle of her fingers. The bone processions on the vertebrae in her spine grew long enough to break the skin, sliding out and then becoming slightly hooked at their ends, almost becoming a long row of flat spikes from her neck all the way down to her butt. She grunt from strain as the chain around her chest yanked too tight and finally shattered, unable to grow with her. She grew so big, so fast that the hollowed skulls Moru adorned her breasts in did not fall from her in spite of the chain snapping. The front of her breasts were compressed so tightly into the skulls that they could not fall free. When she grew so large that the flesh popped out- her nipples had become so large that they caught the skulls! By the time she stopped growing ; Moru is so gigantic that even the flesh of her black nipples is compressed into the skulls and bulging out the eye sockets like her actual breasts formerly were! She is large enough to crush an entire building under one hand! Her old weapon would look like nothing more than a toothpick to her now!

Hyaku Token looked straight up at the giant kaiju towering over them- a vulva so large the opening alone is six feet long. "Hot." She took a step back and punched down at him. "Hot but dangerous!"

Her fist shattered the road and crushed the ground with so much force that the two adjacent streets rippled as if they were made of water. Hyaku Token is extremely fast and serpentine however, so he dodged the hit easily and coiled up her arm, skittering up the body so Senri could not strike him without hurting Moru too. She was annoyed, but not particularly worried. Hyaku Token is here to try and save Moru- so he also cannot attack.

Hatsuko took flight to try and get closer to Moru's head since swatting at her feet isn't going to accomplish anything. She held Daisuke in her right foot- still in the shape of a giant kanabo himself.

Hatsuko swung him around her ankle, keeping a momentum up to use to help the force of her swing. Moru swiped through the air at her, but she dodged up over the colossal hand- getting yanked to the side by the wall of air pressure its movement created! Hatsuko slammed Daisuke down against Moru's long tusk, unable to damage it but creating a sharp spike of pain, making the kaiju flinch back. She then stood up on the kanabo balancing her weight on it, spinning around it and flipping down onto her other leg, continuing her motion as she lifted her right leg and swung the club again, this time cracking Moru on the nose, hard enough to break the skin in spite of the club having no sharp points.

Daisuke's voice resonated from the steel of the club. "That fighting style..."

"Sento, yes. You told me to learn from my mistakes, no?"

"Heh, just surprised you managed to pick anything up in all that chaos."

Senri brought Moru's arm up to grab and crush them mid-air, but Hyaku Token coiled around the extremely thick neck and bit Moru's head from behind! He did not bite hard enough to break the skin, but his giant neon orange mandibles were strong enough to hold the colossal head still- preventing her from looking anywhere other than straight ahead! His giant horn-like antennae wiggled in the air a moment as he concentrated. Hatsuko used a wind blast directed at Moru to launch herself backwards and out of harm's way. She cannot hurt Moru with wind- but she can still use it to shove herself around faster than she can normally move herself.

Senri growled at Hyaku Token. "Whispering memories into her mind from when she was a human. You cannot break her free of my control. Those same memories fuel her resentment of other humans, and her hate is how I control her."

Hyaku Token grumbled- he was trying to force her human memories to bubble up and allow her to regain control, but she did not have a particularly happy life as a human- thanks to other humans. Remembering her humanity will only make her angrier, which only increases Senri's foothold.

Hatsuko tossed the maul into the air spinning toward Moru, then closed her wings and fired herself forward like a cannon ball with a wind blast! She caught Daisuke by the ring pommel, and his weight forced her to spin around- she spun several times around, keeping their combined momentum and brought the maul down on Moru's head! Senri managed to turn the head enough that the blow landed at the base of her right horn- but hit hard enough to shatter it! Several chunks of the horn were broken off, and even more narrow cracks dug deeper into the horn- deep enough to make it bleed.

Senri punched them mid-air when she tried to get back, but then opened the fist and closed it around them to crush them before they were knocked far enough away! Daisuke knew they could not evade this time and transformed into his true form, then stretched his giant scrotum around them to create a perfect sphere! Senri tried to crush them but the ball just squashed out sideways and bounced back into its spherical shape. It was like a stress ball- it's too bouncy to break. Annoyed at their persistence, she did not even bother trying- instead she wound up and threw it like a baseball into the buildings below!

Daisuke whipped into the side of a home so hard they ruptured the front wall, tumbled through a partition wall, shattered a coffee table and broke several tea cups, slammed through a second wall, steamrolling a dresser on the other side, bounced over a pleasantly soft bed, and then out the back wall of the house!

Daisuke turned to his demi-human form, slamming his giant scrotum into the sidewalk behind him, then his feet shoved into the side of his huge balls, stopping his own momentum with their weight. In order to do that though- he had to let Hatsuko go, so she hit the pavement and rolled several more feet before being able to stop.

His scrotum is extremely thick and durable- but even it had several bleeding scrapes on it now from shattering through several walls of the home. He turned to Hatsuko who slowly got up off the road- bleeding from her left wing in three places.

"Are you okay??"

"Been... better."

Her wing had been punctured by Moru's spiked knuckles when they were hit- but since they were hit mid-air there was nothing to knock them against, so the spikes did not dig deep luckily.

A man swathed in a thread-bare beige linen shawl wandered up casually at Moru's feet, strumming softly on a shamisen, looking up at her past the brim of his bamboo hat. "Damn. Wasn't enough to try to stomp beautiful Kyoto flat as a pancake- you're also adding decent exposure to your list of offenses by doing it naked. Could see that red mound from five miles away."

"Don't you mean 'indecent exposure'?"

He shrugged. "Eh, view ain't that bad from down here."

The man turned back into his true form- the kitsune Genki. Inari had summoned him back to the shrine to help, because he was relatively close by still. Genki has one more tail than Keiko does- eight, four leaned left and four leaned right. Genki was born with black fur, but Inari's blessing turned him fully white. Thanks to Keiko encouraging him; Genki has become one of the myobu kitsune! He has the divine blessing of Inari Okami as well as his own music powered magic.

Senri hissed and punched down at him- but Genki formed a wall of his eight tails and stopped the blow! Genki himself is nowhere remotely close to being strong enough to hold back a hit like that, but because he is carrying the divine blessing of an Okami- the blessing negates the black magic Senri is using to create this form. Hyaku Token let go of the head and flicked his tail up into the air- several segments of his long body broke away and transformed back into humans who then rushed down to get to Genki! Senri stood up straight and started to wildly swat at them, trying to crush them against the ground of buildings like flies. Every time she crushed one however- it vanished, and another segment appeared on Hyaku Token's main body. They are not a whole being themselves, so trying to kill them doesn't work, it just returns them to his main body. You'd need to kill all 50 of them for any of them to actually die.

Hyaku Token only needed one of the many he sent out to reach Genki. Patting the fox on the head- he transferred visions of his shared memories with Moru. Hyaku Token basically gave Genki a glimpse of who Moru is- so he could identify friend from foe, and isolate Senri in the kaiju.

Senri stomped on the last one, returning it to the centipede, but Genki who was right beside him scattered- dividing into eight different white fox to evade the fist, then climbed the fist from eight sides before uniting back into his true form on the back of the hand and running up the arm! Senri reached over to try and crush him against the arm like a fly, but Genki turned into his demi-human form, slowing a bit, and ducked- causing the hand to slam down ahead of him instead of ON him. He casually dashed over the hand to resume running, making Senri growl. She tried to grab him again and without slowing down, one of his tails divided into another fox; transforming its tail into a sword and flicking it at Moru, cutting her hand. Though, it was more like a paper cut to her.

Genki transformed another tail as it divided from him, into a long white spear and turned to kick the butt of the handle, sending it spiraling into the air. The first one resumes its normal shape, jumping up and grabbing the handle of the airborne spear, and Genki grabbed its tail and used it to spin around and throw the spear at the incoming hand! Senri pulled the other hand back and shook the spear out of it, and the two tails turned into a human form- though looked younger than the primary Genki.

"Hey me, we should play something for this sleeping oni to wake her up!"

"Wow me, that is a great idea- glad I came up with it."

Genki started to play his shamisen as he ran up the arm, backwards- so he would see any attempts at a third attack coming. Senri could not focus on one of them because they are both the same person, in two places at the same time- so all she could do was shake and hope to knock them off of her- they are getting too high up to actually attack.

"Annoying- FUCKS! I mean... fox."

Senri was suddenly distracted a bit- she could feel someone breaking Keiko out of her induced sleep! Senri is running out of time. These opponents are already a nuisance enough- she cannot defeat a seven and eight tailed fox at the same time on top of this. If Keiko shows up- its game over for her. And thanks to all these yokai bombarding her and Moru- their trail of carnage has been relatively narrow, and stopped far short. Senri had aimed Moru at the local prison- though on the opposite side of the district. She was going to stop the demon there and make sure to specifically kill every person there. Those people were hated even by other humans- so Senri especially hates them. But they were still not even close to the prison.

In Keiko's dream, she suddenly sensed Daisuke had some sort of ill-intent. Because they had been having sex several times she at first assumed he was just going to play a mean prank or something, but it was too dark for that. Too hard to be Daisuke in the first place. As soon as she dashed away from his embrace the stripes on his body suddenly expanded, turning his entire form black, and his body melted away to reveal Senri in his place.

Keiko drew her ears back and bared her fangs. "Who the hell are you?"

Senri was a bit confused herself. "S-Senri. It seems someone has broken my distraction."

"Distracting me from what?"

Senri huffed. "Wouldn't you like to know? You always like to stick your nose in other people's business, so I had to distract you, to keep you out of mine."

Keiko pounced on her, but then her head was smacked back as she collided with the floor in the real world! She pounced in the real world, and woke herself up when she fell off the bed head-first. Inari chuckled at her, picking her up and plopping her on the side of the bed to make sure she collected herself. The dream was induced by Senri, so Keiko was especially disoriented and need a bit to get her thoughts to stop spinning. She blushed, noticing the bed was a bit damp where she had been laying too. What a horrible way to end such a pleasant dream.

Senri shook Moru's body, sending the shed-sized breasts wobbling all over the place unintentionally in her attempt to knock Genki off. Genki had a hell of a time staying on Moru's back, but he managed it. Every time he was about to fall one of his tails split off, grabbed his illusory clothing in its maw and yanked him back up onto his feet before re-merging. Moru is so colossal compared to him that it actually isn't all the movement that threatens to knock him off- it's her giant muscles squirming around under her flesh every time she tenses them, causing their proportions to shift and tighten, which is what Genki is trying to stand on. He misses several notes as Senri forces him to wobble around and trip several times, but he is an expert at playing the shamisen, and his concentration is not so easily broken.

Senri does not know what he is even trying to do- she is not exactly a music buff, and the melody is not familiar to her. It is to Moru however. Genki is taking the information Hyaku Token gave him and trying to translate it into a unique melody to encapsulate Moru's emotions. The music is abrupt, sharp notes and abrupt shifts in tempo, but it resonates with Moru's memories. Senri's shared hate and memories do not resonate with Genki's music- which highlights them for Moru. The parts that do not match the melody do not belong- she is able to identify what is truly hers and what belongs to the wretched cat!

Senri recognized the disorder the music was creating in her puppet and became more desperate in her attempt to knock him off! She could not swat him off while he danced back and forth on her shoulders, so she fell backwards! Senri was going to crush him under Moru's body weight! Hatsuko quickly grabbed up Genki in her talons and flew him into the air as the gargantuan body slammed into the ground. Her arms were punctured on the frame of several buildings. The giant red skinned body crashes down through the stone tiled rooftops and the broken framework of the walls jams into the flesh like the splintered end of a broken wooden pencil.

Her falling sent out a shockwave of air pressure strong enough to shatter the glass from windows of homes in a mile radius. The impact shook the ground so badly that it bounced hand carts a half foot straight into the air off the pavement! Black blood oozed out from the new wounds like tar, painting whatever it rolled over.

Hyaku Token coiled around her throat, trying to prevent her from standing back up. Genki continued to play his music mid-air, being held aloft by his shoulders thanks to Hatsuko. Daisuke wait at the read on a rooftop of a half caved-in home, looking for a chance to attack.

Moru growled. "Get... out!"

Senri emerged from Moru's chest, looking out of breath. Moru's enormous mutated body started to turn to colored smoke! The more smoke that lifted, the smaller and more normal her form became- rejecting the nekomata's black magic! Hyaku Token hissed at her and immediately slithered toward her! Even his spit is a powerful acid- if he so much as drools on her, she is dead. In her true form Senri is absolutely tiny compared to Hyaku Token though, which makes it fairly easy to evade his attacks, even though he is very fast. He slithers past her several times, missing and having to try and loop his long body back around. Every time he misses he ends up ripping a rift into a nearby building or the road- when he passes her he extends his arms, which are encased in chitin as hard as steel. So the sides of his body with his limbs extended can essentially act like a gigantic chainsaw blade.

Senri went to turn to the left to slip between the nearest buildings that were still standing, but Daisuke dropped off the roof and spun mid-fall to slam her into the ground under the weight of his giant testicles, pinning the cat! Senri fell into the shade of his balls and climbed back out of his shadow behind him to escape, but Hatsuko plopped Genki down nearby and dove on her like a hungry hawk. Hatsuko landed talons first, gripped her around her torso, and then yanked her leg back- cutting Senri into three separate pieces!

Her blood sprayed across the ground but her body melted into shadow, slithering away and re-collecting a foot and a half away. Senri wobbled a bit- her body stiff from the pain inflicted by the attack. Moru wrestling away control squandered most of her spiritual energy, and now her physical body is exhausted too. Senri ran out of tricks; she could barely remain standing on all fours.

Hyaku Token transformed into an army of fifty people once again, walking around everyone else to make sure Senri could not make a run for it no matter what direction she chose. "Heh. Valliant effort! Beautiful carnage. But far too many holes in your plan- too much room for error. It is like a pick-pocket trying to steal out of the wallet of a police officer, while in the police station. SO much can go wrong. And lo- it has!" The captain drew his sword and pointed it at her. "Your biggest mistake was trying to fuck with my friend."

Senri huffed, one of her front legs buckling under her, forcing her to fall to her side. "It was the site of the largest beacon of hope for these wretched humans. If this carnage can happen under the watch of their precious guardians- then they will lose hope."

Daisuke crossed his arms. "Well, that won't work, either. Inari is going to manipulate things so that the officials report this as damage from an earthquake. People pass it off as a natural disaster- the people who seen us yokai directly are disregarded by the larger public. No official records get written to report the earthquake and... give it a bit over ten years- no one will remember this happened in the first place."

Senri sighed, blowing a cloud of dust off the ruin-covered laneway. "Humans are such contemptible creatures... why anyone defends them is beyond me. Now they continue to live in spite of my efforts- and they did not even save themselves. Superior beings saved them, and they won't even know they were saved in the first place! So they won't even be grateful for that!! AAARGH!"

Hyaku Token nodded as he put his sword away. "Mmm, I feel you there. The humans should have been the ones to stand up against the threat that was presented to them. But you were also using a puppeteered oni instead of your own strength. Disgraceful behavior from both sides, really."

The officer behind the captain drew his sword, followed by all the other copies of him, pointing it to Hatsuko before speaking in perfect unison. "And speaking of a worthy fight... we like your style, tengu. We challenge you to a duel!"

The captain turned to the others with a cocked brow. "Woah, woah, guys. We both got slapped around by a rampaging kaiju... neither of us are at our full strength, what the hell kinda fight is that?"

"Aww... yea..."

"Besides; we need to collect Moru and make sure she isn't, y'know, dead."

"Yea...."

The captain glanced at Hatsuko as he shooed the rest to go look for Moru. "But I am always looking for a worthy challenge, crow. If we ever meet again someday... heh. Look forward to it. Next time I will not hold them back."

Hatsuko blinked in confusion. "U-uh... okay?" She glanced at Daisuke and shrugged. "I guess that was a compliment?"

Daisuke chuckled, but then looked down at the exhausted Senri. "What do we do with this one now?"

Hatsuko bristled. "What do you mean? We kill her! Look at what she can do! This was absolute carnage. She even disabled Keiko!"

Genki spoke up, shaking his head, just strumming a soft melody randomly on his shamisen. "Nah. Killing the cat now won't fix the mayhem. Let her go- she knows she cannot do this sort of thing. The only reason she got this far is because she basically took a demon hostage. She can't do that again, either." Genki shrugged, looking down at Senri. "Besides- you already got away, anyway."

Senri scoffed. "Heh- cat's out of the bag." The decoy Senri melted back into pure shadow and vanished.

The real Senri dashed away the moment Hyaku Token started to bicker with himself, leaving a copy of herself behind made of shadows- using what little remained of her energy to maintain a weak decoy long enough to run away. A literal shadow-puppet.

Moru and Hyaku Token were taken back to the temple and brought through the same torii gate Senri used. Inari had used his trainee myobu kitsune to scan them all and find which one had broken prayer slips. The gate returned them to Onigashima, and the slips were renewed, preventing the torii from being used again. Moru did not act on her own, and Hyaku Token was just here to collect her again, so Inari simply told the others to remove them, not harm them in any way.

Now when Hatsuko circles overhead- she keeps a carefully trained eye on any black cats in the area. Senri was officially on her shit-list, if Hatsuko ever spots her in Kyoto again; she will attack first, ask questions later.

That night Keiko bombarded Daisuke was a thousand questions at once. He just chuckled and told her to wait till after dinner at least. He and Hatsuko were battered and bruised. The male Inari reaped a new harvest of divine rice, and the female Inari quickly prepared a feast of delicious rice balls for their dinner- hiding a different item of food in the center of each one, but mixing them up so each was a surprise.

After dinner, when the light started to fade and the stars came out to shine- Daisuke slipped off to the side of the shrine grounds to rest and look up at the sky. You could hear Genki strumming softly on his shamisen further into the shrine grounds, staying the night since he was already in the area. Keiko skittered around Daisuke before climbing his scrotum and lying in the middle like a hammock again. She flopped onto her belly with her face and front paws pointing at him. Daisuke just rest on his back with his black paws hanging in the air limply over him.

"So... a cat sings me some cursed lullaby, and I sleep through a quarter of Kyoto getting flattened under a castle-sized monster?"

"Yup. Glad someone already filled you in." He smirked.

Keiko danced her seven tails around behind herself- tickling his balls and making the scrotum tense up. "You're going to have to do better than that, buster."

Daisuke laughed, and started to tell her of the events that day. The nekomata Senri tried to bring down the town from under their noses so the people would lose faith in the shrine. She knew she could not kill many, and would inevitably be stopped from doing as much harm as she wanted to, no matter where she attempted an attack on the humans. So instead, she tried to hurt them a different way, a more permanent damage that could not so easily be repaired. Long ago Senri had a human family of her own, but they were killed by raiders. Senri herself would have died if it weren't for her own hatred becoming so powerful that it brought her back from the brink as a nekomata. She only hates humans though- which is why she chose such a passive way to try and disable Keiko. She doesn't want to hurt anything else, just the humans.

It was thanks to Hyaku Token that the other half of this story was revealed to Genki and then everyone else. Moru was picked on as a human long ago, and traded between unhappy family members. When she finally opened up and tried to become close to someone, she found out they were only using her- and his choice to side with them resulted in someone else dying. The only person who was truly trying to help her. That is also when she met Hyaku Token- and always hungry for a worth enemy he aided her in getting revenge, but her hatred twisted her, and turned her into an oni. In this more modern era- the oni are held off for the most part and leaving Onigashima or Yomi would be difficult, and attract almost immediate attention; so as much as she wants to hunt for wrong-doers to punish, she doesn't. Senri approached her with a promise of safe and easy travel to the realm of mortals so she could once again give bullies what they deserve and protect those rejected like she once had been. But once she agreed to go with the nekomata- Senri blinded her with her black magic and essentially used her as a puppet. Moru was completely unaware of what she was actually doing.

"Damn, I feel bad for them."

"Th-the... two evil yokai? Who almost killed us?"

"Yeeaa..." She rolled over onto her back and let her body slide down the bottom of his scrotum a bit, so her head was propped up to look at the stars too. "Senri cannot help but hate, her anger is what created her as she is now, and she hates because she was wronged by the humans. So... it was sort-of justified, but she can't STOP hating. And Moru was picked on as a human so badly she turned into a literal demon out of anger. She only targets bullies. I... I dunno. I never saw them in person. But based on what you have told me, I don't think either of them is actually evil."

"Senri tried to kill everyone in Kyoto and destroy hope itself. I am... PRETTY sure she is evil."

"Mmm, guess it doesn't really matter now. I missed the whole damn thing! At least I know you guys can handle yourselves without me, heh."

Daisuke nodded. "Yea- I seen Hatsuko using Sento's attack style today."

"The wolf? Huh, neat. She is a fast learner then, because we did not exactly spend a lot of time around him. I could teach her a thing or two with weapons too, that I learned from my master, but... she still don't like me much."

"Oh she does. Hatsuko just... doesn't know how to show it." He rolled over onto his paws, flopping Keiko over onto the grass. "In any case, I am absolutely exhausted. Coming to bed?"

Keiko grinned with her mouth full of little fangs. "Oh yes~ I had some wild dreams earlier... gave me some ideas."

"Aaand now I am worried again..."
