Ander - Part 2: Subchapter 6
6 "So you're worried that your family might come after you, eh?" Rufio said, merrily puffing away on his pipe while his wife changed Ander's bandages. Even though they were discussing important matters, Ander got the distinct feeling that that wasn't...
Ander - Part 2: Subchapter 25
25 _It's been nearly a month..._ Sarah thought, _a whole month since I last saw him..._ She struck the soil with her hoe hard enough to bury the blade up to the hilt. The sun was already beating down on them all, even though it was still early...
Ander - Part 2: Subchapter 24
24 "I would only ever see your father one more time, on the night of your birth," Sarah said, her voice trembling. She kept staring off at nothing in particular, like one who has received news so terrible she couldn't yet process it. In a way, that is...
Ander - Part 1: Subchapter 5
5 Her aim was true, but Banno's reaction was faster. He plucked it right out of the air, almost casually, like he was picking an apple from a tree instead of a sharp rock aimed directly at his face. It might as well have been standing still for all...
Ander - Part 1: Subchapter 4
4 It would have been difficult for them to make their way through the jostling crowd if they didn't have Banno. Those that noticed his massive form quickly squeezed together to let him and his brothers by, while those that didn't were simply shoved...
Ander - Part 1: Subchapter 3
3 This was not at all what Ander was expecting. Most Wolves would be inside their tents on a hot day like this, or maybe lounging by the river, but _this_? It seemed like every Wolf in the tribe was gathered near the centre of the village, talking...
Ander - Part 1: Subchapter 9
9 The first thing she became aware of was the pain throughout her entire body, an ache unlike anything she has experienced before, as if every muscle had been shredded while she slept. But how? And why? She was vaguely aware of these questions, but...
Ander - Part 1: Subchapter 8
8 "This is the worst idea ever!" Kiana grumbled, wrenching her cloak free of pesky brambles for what felt like the hundredth time. Honestly, the way they were constantly grabbing and tearing at her clothes you'd almost think they were doing it on...
Ander - Part 1: Subchapter 7
7 Kiana didn't want to hear all this again. She knew perfectly well what had happened, even more so than they did, but she couldn't very well tell them to shut their filthy mouths, could she? No, not if she had any sense left in her stupid, empty...
Ander - Part 1: Subchapter 2
2 "Hezzi! Wait! Something's not right!" Ander said, coming to a dead stop. "Huh?" the young grey Wolf was already halfway towards the gates, no doubt eager to tell everyone about the kill. "What's wrong?" "What do you see, Ander?" Banno asked. They...
Ander - Part 1: Subchapter 1
Ander By Contrast (aka Necrobat) Chapter 1 The Bonds of Blood 1 He could smell it coming, bounding through the woods. He could smell its fear. Even worse, he could smell the ecstasy of those chasing after it. The ecstasy of his...
Ander - Part 2: Subchapter 5
5 Hezzi was in no hurry to go outside. It would take a while for all the Wolves to gather, and he still had some thinking to do. He looked down at the broken carving still clutched in his hand, the sharp splinters of wood sticking out like arrows. So...
