“Is that Snowfall?” Moon asked.

“Does she know Winter and Lynx are here?” Sunny replied.

Thorn walked out into the square and greeted the icewings. Snowfall was gesturing angrily, and Thorn replied calmly. After a few minutes, Michael landed next to them and looked annoyed for a while. Starflight and Qibli pulled themselves out of the pool, and walked over to the others.

“What’s going on over there?” Qibli asked

“Don’t know, looks like Snowfall is mad for some reason.” Moon replied.

An icewing guard noticed them, and turned to Snowfall. He said something to her, and she turned to them with a confused expression. She turned and said something to Michael and Thorn, making them both frown, and walked over to them.

“What are you guys doing here?” She asked them. “Don’t you have dragonets to teach? Like her for instance?”

Kinkajou smiled at her. “Were here for a wedding.”

“What wedding?” Snowfall replied.

“Mine and Qibli’s.” Moon replied. “It happened yesterday, were going back to the academy tomorrow.”

Snowfall looked over at Qibli. “Wait, is Winter here?”

“Yeah, he was my best man.” He replied.

“You know where he is?”

“Basement.”

Snowfall turned and charged into the palace. Turtle watched her go and cast a confused expression at the others. Sunny shrugged, and laid her head back for a nap.

“Sun.”

Sunny opened her eyes and looked up at Starflight. Her headache was gone, but she still felt tired. She got up and nuzzled Starflight. It was already late afternoon, and the pools were empty,

“Where is everybody?” She asked.

“Dining hall.” Starflight replied.

“How long have I been out?”

“Don’t know, I passed out right after you did.” Starflight smiled. “The sun here is addicting.”

Sunny smiled, and they walked into the palace.

“Wonder what happened with Snowfall.”

“She’s going to be attending dinner with us.” Starflight told her.

After a few minutes, they entered the dining hall, and Sunny took a place next to her mother. Thorn and Smolder both smiled at her, but Onyx just ignored her. Snowfall was sitting across the table, Moon and Qibli were chatting with Turtle and Kinkajou in the middle.

“Where’s Winter and Lynx?” Sunny whispered to her mother.

“They should be here; they’ve been avoiding the queen all day.” Thorn chuckled.

The food was passed out, and halfway through the meal, Winter and Lynx entered the hall and sat down.

“Queen Snowfall!” Lynx spoke. “This is a surprise.”

“It’s clearly not.” Snowfall replied. “Since you two avoided me all day.”

“I do not know what you are talking about my queen, we were simply enjoying the sights of the city.”

Snowfall squinted at them, but didn’t reply.

“So, if I may ask, why are you here?” Starflight cut in.

“Just some official business, I did not expect to see you here though.” Snowfall turned to Thorn. “By the way, congratulations on your wedding.”

Thorn nodded.

“And my main purpose of coming here was to invite you to mine.”

Everyone at the table froze and looked over at Snowfall.

“Your getting married?” Thorn asked.

“Of course, can’t produce heirs without a husband.” Snowfall answered. “You, Smolder, Sunny, and Onyx are all invited.”

“When is it?” Thorn replied.

“Not for six months.” Snowfall waved her claw. “You have time to decide.”

Winter turned to her. “To who?”

“Calcite, you may remember him.” Snowfall told him.

Winter nodded, and Lynx whispered something to him.

“I know there is something you want to tell me; I don’t like waiting.” Snowfall demanded

“I uhm, wanted to ask you, for a blessing.”

Snowfall choked on her drink, and looked between the two icewings. “Wait, what?”

Lynx puffed her chest out. “Winter and I would like to request a queen’s blessing for our pairing.”

Thorn looked stunned. “They need those?” She whispered to Sunny.

“Icewing tradition.” Sunny whispered back. “For third, second, and first circles.”

“But I thought she got rid of all that.”

“They still try to follow it.”

Snowfall looked stunned, clearly not expecting this connection.

“Where is Michael when we need him to diffuse a situation?” Starflight breathed.

I’m back at the academy with Trice, Bea’s in Pantala right now.

Moon and Qibli were busily eating, not wanting to be involved in the conversation. Turtle and Kinkajou were watching with eyes wide.

“I uh, Lynx?” Snowfall finally spoke.

“Yes?”

“When did this happen?”

“Little while ago, why?”

Snowfall shook her head in disbelief. Moon chuckled, and everybody turned to her. She looked up with a blush and turned to Snowfall.

“He’s not all that bad. You grew up with him, you should know how he really is.”

Winter frowned.

“For a while I had forgotten you were here.” Snowfall replied. “I guess you got a point there.”

Lynx smiled over at Winter, then froze and cast a nervous glance over at Moon, who paled suddenly.

Starflight smiled at Sunny. “Wonder what that was about.”

“You can read minds too, why don’t you find out.” Sunny shot back.

His smile fell. “I don’t really want to do that.”

“I was joking, relax.”

Snowfall sighed. “Do you love him?”

Winter looked shocked.

“Yes, I do.” Lynx smiled brightly “I have for a while, a long while.”

Winter blushed, and gripped her talon in his.

“Then I give you my blessing.” Snowfall waved her talon.

Lynx smiled and nodded. “Thank you, my queen.”

The rest of the meal was quiet, nobody said a word as they finished their food. As everybody was leaving, Thorn motioned for Sunny to stay, and she told Starflight to go ahead. Thorn, Smolder, Onyx, and Sunny walked into Thorn’s office, and sat down.

“So, I wanted to talk to you all, about the future.” Thorn told them.

“What about it?” Onyx asked.

“Well, Sunny already has a partner, and I wanted to know if you were considering one.” Thorn asked.

Onyx blushed, “I, uh.”

“It’s okay if you aren’t, I know it can be hard to get out there.” Thorn added.

“Oh.” Sunny cut in. “I think you should spend some time in the rain kingdom, you might meet some new people.”

Onyx shook her head. “I can’t stand it there; I think I’ll just go to another city for a while.”

Thorn nodded “I also wanted to talk about if you were considering having children.”

The three of them turned to Sunny, who blushed and looked down. “Yeah, but there is something you should know about Starflight.”

“What is it? Is he okay?”

“You know who Mastermind is?”

“His father, right?”

“He is also the son of Queen Battlewinner.” Sunny told them.

Onyx’s jaw dropped, and Smolder gasped.

“So, your dragonets…”

“Would be heirs to both the sand and night kingdom.” Sunny replied

Thorn smiled. “Now, what are the chances of that, four of the dragonets of destiny are royals.”

“We do want dragonets, but we don’t know when just yet. Were just waiting for the right time.” Sunny explained.

“Who else knows about him?” Thorn asked.

“Michael, Glory, Deathbringer, and I think Fierceteeth might know. Oh, and Moon probably.” Sunny answered.

Thorn nuzzled her daughter. “Well, that was mainly what I wanted to talk about. I really just wanted to get you thinking about what’s to come.”

Sunny nodded. “Oh, and I wanted to tell you, I’m not going to Snowfall’s wedding.”

Thorn raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

“She knows full well about me and Starflight, yet didn’t invite him.” Sunny replied. “Also, I don’t really know her.”

“She no doubt just forgot about him.” Thorn replied.

“She didn’t.” Sunny replied.

Thorn nodded. “I’ll tell her your busy.”

Sunny smiled and hugged her mother, then walked out of the room and back to Starflight. She found him in their room and cuddled up next to him.

“What happened?” He asked her.

“My mom wanted to talk about dragonets.”

Starflight blushed. “What do you think about them.”

“I want them, but I don’t know when.” Sunny replied.

“I’m ready when you are.”

Sunny snapped her head over to him. “What?”

“I can wait, but I’m ready.”

She smiled. “Let’s get married first.”

Starflight woke and looked over at Sunny, she was still asleep on his chest, and he smiled at her. He looked out the window and realized it was almost time to leave. He leaned down and nuzzled her lightly.

“Sunny, it’s time to go back to the academy.”

Sunny opened her eyes and yawned. “Michael’s probably waiting for us.”

They got up and stretched, then grabbed their satchels and walked out into the square. Michael was in fact waiting for them, but he was the only one there.

“Of course, Kinkajou and Turtle are running late.” Michael mumbled.

“Moon and Qibli are on their way.” Sunny told him. “But I didn’t see Winter and Lynx.”

“They already left, trying to get away from Snowfall.” Michael told them.

Starflight chuckled. “The look on her face was priceless.”

After a few minutes, Moon and Qibli joined them, and not long after Turtle and Kinkajou did as well. They flew home, chatting lightly as Michael boosted them to Jade Mountain. It only took a few hours, and they soon landed in front of the academy. A few students greeted them, and Sunny walked over to one and struck up a conversation.

“In two weeks, the whole academy leaves for a field trip to the Summer Palace.” Michael told them.

“That was planned fast.” Starflight replied.

“I forced Coral into agreeing to it. In exchange for me repairing the whole thing.”

Starflight nodded, and followed Sunny into her classroom. There were multiple little workstations, and there were a few dragons sitting at them, painting idly or practicing on their instruments. It was the end of the third period, so some students were filing out, and others were piling in. They smiled over at Starflight as they took their stations, and Sunny greeted the class.

“Your painting isn’t due until tomorrow, but if you want to turn it in now, that’s okay.”

A few students nodded, and set their paintings in front of Sunny.

“Nice job, that looks really nice, what a pretty tree.” She said to them.

Starflight smiled and sat down behind Sunny’s desk.

“Your class is nice.” He told her.

Sunny smiled back. “I like it.”

“Your students seem to be enjoying it.” He motioned over at a smiling rainwing, who was drawing widely on her canvas.

“Yeah, I don’t really have rules or assignments for art, just paint something.” Sunny replied.

Starflight nodded. “Were going to the Summer Palace in a week.”

Sunny smiled. “Everybody’s excited about it.”

Sunny sat next to them and started working on a scroll. They relaxed the rest of the day, and found their way to a staff meeting while the students were going to bed.

“Hey Starflight, Sunny.” Clay greeted them. “How was the wedding?”

“It was nice, I’m still surprised they invited me.” Sunny told him.

“Really? You helped me so much, how would you be surprised?” Moon cut in.

Sunny blushed. “Yeah, I guess that makes sense.”

“Also, you invited me to yours, it makes sense for you to come to mine even if it was before yours.” Moon added.

“Attention everyone.” Tsunami called to them.

They all turned to her.

“We are proud to announce our first field trip, thanks to Michael, we are able to travel to the Summer Palace for a few weeks.”

There was some clapping.

“Also, we have a very high rate of attendance from the students, and even higher mark averages.”

Everybody smiled.

“With this news, we can now prove that this is definitely a successful project, and the queens have agreed to continue sending dragonets here from now on.”

There was more clapping, and Tsunami smiled and nodded to them.

“Funny thing actually, we’ve had better attendance from our students than our teachers.” She chuckled. “Due to some weddings, and more about to happen, such as Sunny and Starflight’s, Blue and Cricket’s, and apparently Peril and Clay’s, but they don’t have a date yet.”

Everybody turned to the mentioned dragons, and smiled in congratulations. Sunny blushed and hid beside Starflight.

“That’s all I had to say.” Tsunami added. “Is there anybody else wanting to say something?”

Everybody looked around, and when nobody said anything, Tsunami nodded and dismissed them.

Sunny walked up to Cricket and they started talking enthusiastically. Blue finished his conversation with Qibli, and walked up to Starflight.

“Hi, you proposed?” He asked Blue.

“Yeah, and none of you told me she already saw it coming.”

“It was obvious, how did it turn out?”

“It was nice, there was a full moon out, and I found this cool pocket of trees not too far from here. I also got some of her favorite foods from Michael. Then I proposed, and that’s it.”

“Simple, nice.”

“How’d you do it?”

“The day she told me she loved me back, I asked her to marry me.”

“Just like that?” Blue looked surprised.

“Just like that, it was meant half as a joke, and half telling her how serious I was, but she said yes.”

“That’s nice, but seems kind of rushed.”

“Everybody else thinks so too, but I waited years for her.”

“Did you hear the sand kingdom is doing some kind of celebration of the end of the succession war?”

“Really?”

“It’s been five years, I guess they want you to come and participate as the guests of honor.”

“Thorn didn’t mention anything about it.”

“Smolder’s running it, and he wants to keep it down low for the general population.”

“Then he should have told us.”

“It’s not for like, five months, so I think he wasn’t worried about it.” Blue shrugged.

A little hivewing dragonet ran across the room and jumped into Willow’s arms.

“Is that Bumblebee?” Starflight asked. “I don’t think I ever met her.”

“Then let’s go say hi.” Blue replied.

They walked over to the two leafwings and dragonet.

“Your supposed to be in bed.” Sundew told the little hivewing.

“I has bad dream.” Bumblebee buried her face in Willows arms. “Big scary dragons in my room.”

“There weren’t any scary dragons in your room.” Willow nuzzled her.

“But it’s so dark, how could I tell?” Bumblebee sniffled.

“Because, there are no scary dragons in the entire school!” Willow replied. “You want to know why?”

“Why?”

“Because we are protected, by a powerful friend.”

Willow pointed over at Michael. Bumblebee followed her claw and looked over at Michael as he was talking with Qibli and Riptide.

“Who’s that?” Bumblebee asked.

“You met him, remember?”

“No, him.” Bumblebee motioned to Starflight.

Willow looked up and smiled. “Hey Starflight.”

“Hi, I don’t think I ever met this adorable dragon.” He motioned to the hivewing.

Willow set the dragonet down. “This is Starflight, he’s a dragonet of destiny, I told you about them.”

Bumblebee nodded. Are we really teaching them about a false prophecy? Starflight thought.

Just because somebody made it up doesn’t mean that it’s false. A prophecy is a prophecy when it is believed by many.

Are you saying it’s a real one?

It was believed by almost every dragon in Pyrria, making it ring out into the universe as a real one, so yes.

Starflight lowered his head in front of Bumblebee.

“Hi.”

“Are you related to Clearsight?”

Clearsight no, Darkstalker yes.

Wait, what?

You’re a descendant of his sister, Whiteout. Don’t think about it too much.

“In a way, yes, but not like you are.” Starflight smiled at her.

What about Sunny?

Stonemover’s animus genes come from the seawings. You remember the story, Fathom had children, and one of them fell in love with a nightwing. They were a much better couple than Darkstalker’s parents.

Bumblebee looked over at his wings. “You’re pretty.”

He spread them slightly. “Thank you.”

“Are all nightwings this pretty?”

“I’ve been told that I’m one of the better ones.” Starflight replied “Look over there, you see her, that’s Moon, you probably met her.”

“Yeah, she’s pretty too, but not as much as you.” Bumblebee replied cheerily.

Starflight glanced over at Sunny and noticed that she was staring at them with a strange expression he had never seen before. He motioned her over, and she smiled and approached them.

“You remember Sunny?” Starflight asked, and Bumblebee nodded. “Pretty color.”

“Yeah.” Starflight glanced over at the leafwings.

Willow chuckled, and Sundew smirked. Sunny smiled at Bumblebee.

“Hello there, how are you liking the academy, it’s probably really different from where you used to live.”

“It’s too dark in my room.” She replied. “Scary.”

Sunny looked over at Blue. “Well, maybe you can make a night-light for her.”

Blue flushed. “I forgot I was a flamesilk for a little bit, yeah.”

He reached out and pulled a couple strands of glowing silk from his wrists. Then he made it into a bracelet and handed it to Bumblebee.

That’s weird, but cool.

Imagine being able to spit boulders.

Starflight’s gaze shot to Michael. You can do that?

And more, the species I currently am is capable of harnessing the power of the elements. You are element dragons, but you just can’t use element power very well.

Starflight chose to not ask any further questions, and looked over at his mate as she was talking with the little dragoness.

“What do you think about the school in general?” Sunny asked.

“It’s kind of like how Cricket described her school to me, but less mean and less rules.”

Sunny smiled. “I’m glad to hear that, do you think you would want to come here one day.”

Bumblebee nodded enthusiastically.

“Alright you, it’s past your bedtime.” Willow told her.

Bumblebee yawned and nodded; Willow led her out of the room.

“I think I’m going to hit the hay too.” Sunny told everyone.

“I’m coming” Starflight replied, and they both walked out of the room.
