Chapter Nine: Outsider, Part One

Water flew forward with such force as Dustin walked forward, he scanned the sewer for anyone. It was dark and clogged, as it turned out the city did use it to transport dirty water. The city figured for nearly water damaging a courthouse and allowing Twilight to take over the courthouse for two days, the Outsiders might as well clean up the sewer that was now a mess.

"Ungrateful bastards." Dustin threw his hand forward, around him water surged; the tide grabbing the oil and then dislodging it from the pipe, luckily then water treatment would grab it once the water followed downstream. Of course right now the Outsider was missing two thirds of his team. Maybe it was known fact that when something dealt with water, that Dustin would deal with.

He didn't like the tunnels now, they appeared and dark and empty. Strange sounds that could be werewolves, or Neuroseekers or even Twilight could be wandering around him. And then as he heard the sound of metal touching the ground, looking back Dustin peered through the oil and attempted to see through what was calling to him.

"Well then look who we have here, a lonely Outsider."

Dustin turned around and looked back, dressed in a set of leather overcoat, black and grey armor underneath with a smiling grin, showing just one of his canine teeth. "Ronan" Dustin thought as he backed up, pushing one foot back into the ground and getting ready to run. And then the Neuroseeker's leaders ran forward and phased through the Outsider, quickly Dustin turned around.

"You abandoned by his friends for shitting up with me and functionally immortally, I can't decide if I should you let you live or let you die. I couldn't imagine how much angst and how pushed you would be dealing with all the guilt." Ronan said as Dustin turned and saw the leader of the Neuroseeker's standing before him, looking at it, Dustin frowned.

"Shut up, you don't know me. You are nothing Ronan, you are evil." Dustin said as he backed up and looked around. He looked for some sort of exit, just a beam of light shining up from the city, something to escape through. Looking around Dustin found none, and quickly back stepped through his mind. Which way did he come, where did he come from. Backing up the Outsider nearly slipped but quickly got his grip, as Ronan laughed.

"Careful Outsider, I am inside your mind and even if I'm not real. Still you're going to run because you're afraid of me." Ronan said as he walked forward and put his hand forward, Dustin backed up. And then he leaned forward, he needed to do nothing. Dustin gasped as Ronan reached forward and passed his hand through Dustin's body.

"My subconscious is really fucked up." Dustin said getting a smiling out of Ronan; maybe he could make the most out of it. Reaching forward, Dustin grabbed the wolf's hand. While he knew it was intangible, he still felt the enemy's touch and could feel all the fur on his hands and everything. Dustin backed up wondering what was wrong with his mind.

"You know my little daisy, all of the things you did. Everything you done so far is nothing compared with what you will have to do." Ronan said as suddenly they were engulfed into a black void, Ronan's arm spread bringing the change. Dustin looked around as suddenly he found himself in a regal room, a massive computer screen set to static behind him.

Dustin looked to the ground, many bodies on the ground; all of them sharks, all of them with black hair and a hoodie. All of them with the same look of shock on their face, Dustin knew what happened when he saw it and fell to the ground onto the blood stained ground. He shed of tear for the shark's only their shared race bringing their innocent demise.

"Such tears, what beauty your sorrow holds. The act of morning the dead belongs to humans, and such immortals as us do not have to worry about such death. But only in my world." Ronan said as he leaned down and wiped the tear of Dustin's face. The Outsider looked up to Ronan, the former Outsider smiling as seemingly his worst fears had been found.

"Frailty thy name is mortal. Have you not seen it yet, the undesired mortality of these human's push them to do such idioiticness; yet we the immortal are punished. Do you see what they did to you? Twilight only controlled their hidden feelings." Ronan said as he stood up and backed up and leaned next to one of the dead sharks.

"They will continue to do this, but join me, my beauty and we can exterminate these mortals. They will be wiped off this pitiful planet and instead we and the Kagens will reign." Ronan said as he smiled at Dustin and the shark could say nothing as he backed up, leaning against a wall and looking in sheer horror at Ronan. He held in his fright, his sorrow and his tears.

"Oh please don't cry my love, don't you realize. I did this all for you, so you could realize your true self. So that you might rightfully take you position as King of Sharks or did you forget that?" Ronan said as he walked forward and looked at Dustin, as he grabbed the table Dustin realized something.

"You're real aren't you?" Dustin said frightened as he looked around, this wasn't his mind. Ronan was playing his game, of course Ronan could pass through his body. And then Ronan smiled, seemingly confirming it to him.

"Mini teleportation is so functional today isn't it my flower." Ronan walked forward and leaned down next to Dustin, Dustin shook in fear and then he felt the wolf's hand on his. Looking over Dustin saw the madness in Ronan's face, like an endless staircase it continued forever and Dustin couldn't tell where the madness would end.

"Trust me you will work for me my love, my high general. And together these Earthlings who constantly disrespect those above them will feel the pain they have caused us. And you will work for me on your own accord; I will and can convince you." Ronan said as he stood up and then looking to Dustin broke out in a fit of laughing. Dustin leaned against the wall, standing up as he watched the wolf laugh in madness.

"Please stop this, don't continue on. You can just give up like this and we'll take you back. No one more has to die." Dustin said in complete desperation and Ronan stopped laughing. The wolf stood up and Dustin suddenly found himself facing a challenge he wished not to face. Ronan's face shifted from joy and instead to anger. He walked forward to Dustin, his hand extended.

"Sorry my flower but some pedals will be plucked." Ronan said as he put his hand onto Dustin's chin and grabbed it, the wolf was one motion away from snapping the shark's neck. Dustin lost control as he found himself stuck in-between a wall and a wolf. Ronan's grip tightened and Dustin saw the wolf's pupils flash red as his grip strengthened.

Dustin tried to stay brave, tried to hold out but he found himself screaming in pain. His jaw started to falter, he couldn't take it long; his jaw would crack; Dustin screamed out in pain. The wolf didn't react as Dustin's pain echoed around the room; instead he moved his hand and his grip over to the shark's check.

"Make your choice and you can have this." Ronan pouted as he leaned in and started to kiss Dustin. The shark found himself helpless as Ronan started to reach around, he shark shivered as he felt Ronan's hand touch his back. Could this be it, could this be what he was waiting for? Maybe this wouldn't be bad, maybe he could be a werewolf and be equal with Ronan?

"Do remember that I am evil, so evil that I can kill you in a blink."

And then like that, Ronan threw him down to the ground and in a flash; Dustin was back in the sewers. Dustin shivered as he looked around, all the sharks that died just because they were of the same race. Dustin curled up on the sewer and started to cry. He was about to compromise his morals all for something old, what did that make him?

Taking a breath the Outsider stood up and looked around; what was this all going to lead up. One of them would die, Dustin wished every night and to every star that he could find some way to prevent it. But it seemed that this was the future and right now the future seemed to suck. Dustin backed up and held in his tears, tears would be for after the battle.

...

"Hey, Elias did you fix the wormhole on top of the building?" Colin asked as he looked around and saw the aura of his lover sitting down on a chair, sitting in front of a computer chair. Standing up Elias yawned and the shark stood up as he looked over to Colin. Elias walked forward and wrapped his arms around the lizard.

"Ah come on why do I have to do that?" Elias said as he started to kiss his lover's neck, Colin shivered as he pushed the shark off and laughed off his uncomfortableness. The shark walked backwards and looked up, maybe a wormhole on top of the building wasn't his best idea.

"Because every time I look up; I can see a massive swirling ball of death." Colin spoke, looking up and seeing the massive conjunction of aura energy spinning and generally doing its own thing. Elias put his arm around Colin's neck and rubbed them together. "Stop it."

"Oh come on, fine then I'll get to that." Elias said as suddenly there was a massive screeching sound. Falling to the floor, Elias was knocked against the ground as the Kagen tried to cover his ears. His body shook and the Kagen screamed out in pain, Colin fell to the floor and suddenly looked at Elias, his aura was shifting it was going through multiple colors and seemingly going crazy.

"Elias what the hell is wrong, don't do this to me." Colin yelled as he shook the Kagen and got no reaction, he turned and grabbed his phone. No, Colin told himself, he couldn't take the Kagen to a hospital, they might prod at him or do something accidental to him due to his alien biology. And then the Kagen stopped, Colin took a breath of relief. "Oh god you're ok, what was that?"

"He's back, I can feel him in full control. The neuroseekers are coming and leading them is not Ronan, but Twilight and soon this city will be invaded." Elias said as his voice shifted, quickly pitching high and low as he stood up. And then Colin quite unceremoniously slapped him. The Kagen looked dazed as he recovered but seemed to be forcefully exited from his daze.

"Oh god, thank you. A little bit of Kagen madness got me there but Twilight is coming. And he is coming within the next minute, I can feel it in the air and I need to go. No we need to go." Elias said as he stood up and looked around, he seemingly was searching for something. Perhaps an energy, but then the shark stopped an then looked north.

"He's in Times Square something big is about to happen there." Elias exclaimed as he hooked on to the hand of Colin and pulled him away. They exited the dull Outsider base and presumably went off on their own adventure, Colin getting pulled along as Elias dragged him.

...

And then Twilight appears...

The Kagen shark stood in the middle of Time's Square, quite literally stopping traffic as he looked around. Someone honked at him and the shark only smiled and stood in place. Some cars drove around him, but for the most part he was now dealing with his own captive audience. Thousands of horns blasted at him, a cacophony of traffic.

"Hey get out of the road asshole, don't you get it that we're trying to go places and you're taking up our time!" One man screamed as he opened his window and tried to convince the shark to exit the middle of the road. The car, a tiny minivan, started to spin it's wheels as it trying to convince the shark to leave or face worse consequences.

"Oh please don't burn out your tires I wouldn't want to see your whore wife get angry because she now has to go ask the man at the auto shop to help her out and when she can't pay she'll have to help him as well." Twilight giggled as he stood in front of the traffic, truly the greatest incarnation of an asshole.

"Why you, I going run you over." The man yelled as he let off the brake, the car screamed forward as it released it energy on the ground and suddenly blasted forward. Twilight only laughed as he extended his hand and then as the car just touched his hand, seemingly time froze. Opening up his energy reserves, a massive beam of energy blasted out and through the car and then time continued.

"What the hell are you!" The man screamed as he landed on the ground, he was still holding onto the steering wheel but that wouldn't be much good. He looked over, the other half of his car landing on the other side of Times Square. The Kagen could only laugh at what he did.

"Why haven't you heard the news?" Twilight asked as he turned and cracked his fingers, tiny arcs of electricity traveling between as he walked over and looked down at the man. No one would be moving now; surely the car blocking the path and the threat of death would be enough to hold them into place.

"I am the Kagen God, no, Kagen Overlord, Twilight. You humans have been getting in our way for so long and now we will be rebelling." Twilight said as he touched the man's face and released his energy. The man was blasted away, surely all the bystanders looking in shock as the Kagen did his job and blasted away the man's head.

Blood was spilled onto the road and the Kagen walked away, his job at this moment done. Standing back up, Twilight looked around and wondered if anyone else would be going and attempting to escape his own personalized version of hell. He looked around and smiled, now was his time and moment to do his best.

"Now then don't move or else this will be a thousand times more painful for you as it is for me." Twilight said as he opened up his arm and then in between his palm an orange ball of energy formed. As he extended his arm, the ball started to grow and encompassed the Kagen. Surely people would be trying to leave but found that traffic now blocked them off as well.

And then like that the ball exploded in size, quickly it encompassed the whole of Times Square. And Twilight smiled, looking around at the orange shaded world, through all the tall grey buildings, he estimated their might be a hundred thousand people around him. And surely that would be enough even for him.

"So then you now get to be a part of my grandplan, you get to be a part of something greater, something better than you." Twilight said to the crowd, partly through his voice partly through psychic transmission. Everyone stood at end and then Twilight lifted his hand into the air. And like that all the mortals in the area started to glow orange.

And then Twilight snapped his fingers, in an instant a hundred thousand people's life energy all flowed through the ball and instantly they were turned into an orange energy. Regeneration energy, the Kagen smiled as he put his arm out and grabbed the energy, it flowed into his hand. The ground shifting as the energy shook the island.

And then the Kagen smiled, looking around only one body remained; the one dead body. And thus satisfied with himself; the Kagen said nothing as he extended his hand and was engulfed in a massive blast of regeneration energy. And with a new face the Kagen walked away from his latest masterpiece. He smiled, surely this would raise something even the Outsiders couldn't deal with.

And then suddenly the Kagen felt a bullet enter his shoulder. The sound hit his head in a second and then looking forward; he looked forward and saw someone before him.

"Sorry Twilight but revenge is mine and you will not repeat this again, men you know what to do trap him!" Thaddeus yelled as suddenly one of his men threw forward a tiny encased explosion. The grenade flew forward and the Kagens smiled, how cute they were going to explode him to death.

"Yeah no Thaddeus, when I am done with this I 'm going burn the entire United States and there is nothing your tiny controllable mind..." Suddenly the Kagen looked around and at the ground he felt energy, the Kagen realized something, it wasn't a grenade it was a mini forcefield. Those were the worst types of mini, next to the mini-refrigerator, why limit yourself to so little food? Either way just like the mini-refrigerator, Twilight could make this a little bigger.

Reaching down the Kagen grabbed the grenade and then gave it some energy, it was only supposed to work on its own supply of energy, but there was no reason it couldn't work with a bit of his. And thus the Kagen smiled as the forcefield turned from green to orange and extended far past his body.

...

Reaching up and grabbing up the ground, Dustin pulled himself into the dark alley; looking around something didn't feel right. And then suddenly the Outsider felt a concussion force pushed on his chest, knocked back into the wall; the Outsider grunted. An orange forcefield forced itself through his shark body and through the builds.

Dustin stood up as his ears were filled with a deafing noise, it was like all the static in the world was around him. Dustin covered his ears and looked around, running out of the alley, the Outsider found himself on Broadway Avenue. Looking above him, he could see the clouds and the skies, but orange. It wasn't sunset, in fact it seemed that an orange transparent layer of goop floated above them.

"A forcefield" Dustin figured as he looked above, people covered their ears but it seemed the static was letting down. Looking around, Dustin turned his head and figured that the forcefield was most likely extended around the island that left a few million people stranded. "Ok well then we won't have to worry about Ronan then, no one gets in or out. Sewers are probably cut off as well, but signals inside might still work."

Dustin looked down to his phone and pulled it up to his face; he still had three bars and at least then it seemed that he might contact the other Outsiders. Dustin smiled a bit looking down at the ground as he felt a bit of guilt. Looking around, people stood up and looked at him.

"Ok, no one worry. I'm sure this has a completely rational explanation that we just need to see yet." Dustin said as he looked around, people were looking for some sort of completely rational explanation that they haven't seen yet. They all looked around at the shark and Dustin knew this was his time to stand up and then his phone rang.

"And I can tell you after this." Dustin said as he picked up the phone, it was a group video message. Walking away, the shark looked down at his phone and he saw two groups on the screen. One was Elias and Colin, they were outside the base and looking around seemingly at the sight that had occurred in the sky, and the others were Thaddeus.

"Dustin no time, Twilight is coming. He can absorb people he wants you, run for your life." Thaddeus yelled and then suddenly the phone slipped to the ground, Elias looked in shock as suddenly the Kagen shark's brother appeared and sunk his fangs into Thaddeus's neck. The military general fell to the ground and Twilight laughed as he looked down to the phone and smiled.

The screen went to static as Twilight's foot smashed the phone into omnishambles. And then suddenly there was a slight movement of air and looking forward Dustin watched forward and Twilight was standing before him. The shark smiled looking at Twilight and stood still only extending his hand.

"Now then be a gentleman and join me as a general?" Twilight said as he stood up and then looked at Dustin, a bit of teleportation energy around him as he walked forward. Looking around Twilight viewed the people around him and smiled a bit as he started to walked forward. And then he extended his hand and an orange ball appeared.

It extended out and suddenly the ball extended out through people, they glowed and were frozen in place. As Twilight smiled, he gripped his fingers. Dustin looked in horror it seemed he had been spared from what ever had happened. And then suddenly the people exploded into tiny orange bits and their tiny bits were all pulled into Twilight's hand.

"You are truly a monster, stop this now and we can spare you." Dustin said as he stood still and extended his hand. He hopped that Twilight would come to his sense and join them, he would be quite useful in stopping Ronan and right now it seemed like he needed everything he could get. The shark only smiled and laughed, looking forward as he thought of something.

And then suddenly the Kagen shark jumped forward, Dustin tried to grab water or anything but felt himself knocked to the ground. He looked towards his phone and saw Elias's horror filled face as he was knocked onto the ground. And then Dustin disappeared, going off on his own adventure.

...

"Oh god where is he!" Colin yelled as he tried to understand what was happening; Elias looked worried his face was filled with some sort of horror. And based on the words that he heard from the phone, it could only be one thing. Twilight had taken Dustin, looking around he tried to view around maybe Dustin was teleported around them.

"I don't know!" Elias said as he looked at the computer, he looked it was nothing to be understood. While he might have been a thousand years old Kagen shark with knowledge from multiple forms of himself, the shark still knew jackshit about computers. And Colin wasn't going to be able to use much with it. Both of them looked at each other and they took a breath, they needed to be calm or else this would be quite inefficient.

"Ok, we just need to breath. He might be at some sort of compound or he could be in the sewer, but we can't just go around crazy looking for him. We need to be accurate and we need to find him in some sort of way that we're not going to lose him." Elias said as he took a breath and looked at Colin, they needed to be careful and they needed to not be stupid. Looking at the computer, it seemed they would be going on some sort of wild goose chase, but Elias didn't want a goose chase.

"I think I have the answer to that." Colin said looking at Elias. He remembered a way that he'd be able to find the shark instantly.

...

"Are you sure about this, you remembered what happened last time." Elias said as he looked at Colin's idea, as they stood in the still abandoned office of the City Hall. Luckily Ronan's auras scanning machine still stood and if Colin was right, he would be able to expand his mind and be able to find Dustin in a second, seemingly the lizard was sure.

"Quite." Colin said as he grabbed the edge of the machine and climbed up into the harness. If he sunk into the machine's code just right, the least comfortable thing for him would be the harness. But still he could see the worry and sorrow in Elias's face; this was bringing up some hard memories as it seemed for the Kagen shark.

"Don't worry I can be fine, all you need to do is connect the neuro interface to me and activate it and then my mind will handle the rest." Colin said as he leaned over, the gyroscope his body hung to spinning as Colin reached forward and tried to comfort the shark. He didn't want to worry the Kagen much, the Kagen had already gone through so much.

"Ok, if you say so but if you feel anything then I want you to tell me the instant you feel something bad happening." Elias said like a mumbling fool, there was sweat running down his face and he looked horribly worried. But this was something they needed to do if they wanted to survive the Kagen's assault, if it meant they had to relive some memories from the Winter of Neuroseekers then so be it.

"Ok, fine." Elias said as he took a breath and walked over to the machine, grabbing the neural web, he looked at it and tried to make sure nothing would be wrong with it. As he looked at Colin, he took a breath of worry as the shark looked at the lizard with the white cap on his head.

"Let's do this." Colin said as he gave Elias a hopefully comforting thumb up and watched as the shark walked over to the console. As the shark looked at the lever, he took another breath and put his hand onto it. Waiting a second, he pulled it back to the activation of the machine and then he was knocked back.

Thunder stuck his body and he was knocked back on the ground, Elias reached up and attempted to grab Colin but found himself unable to do so. The machine activated and quickly it trapped Colin with its forcefield. Holding still the lizard was floated around the gyro sphere and spun around. Elias looked up horrified to see his lover floating above on the machine, spinning around Colin looked so peaceful. Elias nearly passed out, but stood awake for his lover as he floated around.

...

Colin closed his eyes, as the neural interface activated and he found his mind taken away from his aura filled vision and into darkness. And just like last time, there was light. Instantly like a massive explosion, he saw everything; the history the universe was instantly seen and calculated inside his head, and right now Colin was a god.

As the machine floated him around Colin, suddenly found himself floating over Earth. He was in space, and he could see everything below. All detail from as tiny a bug to a large as a mountain could be with in his vision and the Outsider saw it all in glorious color vision. He could see the intricate greens of the trees and how working together they painted the continents green. The blues floating around the ocean and the striking brown that human civilization had put together.

Colin shed a tear for all that he missed, but knew that this was his only way of finding Dustin. To be a demi-god, someone who could see all and calculate all would be his best bet. But then suddenly the image shifted, something was wrong; as the image glitches out Colin realized something, images were leaking out of his memory.

And then he found himself floating in the middle of the air, looking around he found his body over a thousand neuroseekers, all with their guns pointed into the air. That could only mean on thing and as the flashes of lights suddenly all flew out Colin wished he didn't have to relieve this memory over and over and over and this time in color.

But seemingly the lizard looked in fear as he saw his father's body drop in front of him, just barely making eye contact. And then he was struck, his father cried out and was quickly silenced, Colin knew that it was over quick and he looked away in respect of his father. Concentration as he attempted to shut the neural web out of his memories. Instead focused on Dustin, the shark would be his target that would be who he was grounded on.

And like lightning striking suddenly Colin found himself in a strange world, floating above New York City - City Hall, and right now the lizard was looking everywhere and forward at once. He could see in all directions, everyone's true body and everyone's aura body. It was quite intense and as the lizard looked out in all directions, he attempted to find where Dustin had gone, where had the lizard been taken.

Through his mind, he look a picture of all the auras in New York City; in an instant he managed to see all auras all with unprecedented level of clarities and sharpness and instantly he cross checked them all with Dustin and when he was done the lizard had smiled, he found the shark in an apartment, somewhere south of them around SOHO. The lizard felt pretty good for his accomplishments today, feeling less like a burden and more like he was helping.

And then the image shifted around, before Colin could close the neural web or transport in the apartment that would contain Dustin instead once again the world around him shifted. Colin found himself standing on a cliff side, and next to him another familiar face, his father.

"Son let me ask you, do you always see visions of dead people?" His father asked as he stood over the cliff, seemingly stuck on the edge and not able to move away from either. Colin looked at his father as he felt his mind start to burn, this was too long someone needed to eject him quick or else his mind would burn due to the calculations inside his head.

"Not always, but some auras stay in their bodies a little longer after death, I think some can still hear me before they leave." Colin admitted too his father, as Dwight stood on the edge, his arms crossed back behind his arms and a smile on the older lizard's face. And then on the other side of him, a shark appeared, it was Bright.

"And do you believe that we all have a future, that we can all find forgiveness inside ourselves?" Elias asked, instantly Colin knew that he was taking about his own sins, something that the shark had did in his older days back when the Kagen Empire was fighting its own massive universe scale war against the Riftwalkers. To Elias, Bright, whatever his name was Colin already knew the answer.

"I can see it inside your head, whatever you have done you have already forgiven yourself for... And I will say that to you every time you ask me until the end of time." Colin asked as he looked at the shark who this time shifted, into a younger shark a thinner shark wearing a black and blue hoodie but he could imagine the shark in the same red armor as a Kagen.

"Even me, even I, the bastard..."

And then the Kagen switched this time to a younger Bright, his face filled with inexperience and seemingly nervousness as the young Kagen stood in front of Colin. Colin smiled at the Kagen who looked nervous, seemingly the shark's smile was slowly changing into something else and Colin didn't want to be around when that change fully occurred.

"Have you seen what I have done?" Bright said and in some sort of act of universal tomfuckery, Bright touched his head to Colin's and suddenly a flash.

...

Three Outsiders entered the house and as they turned the corner, they found the situation. Bright was holding a gun against a woman's head; she clearly had nothing to do with Bright and was obviously a hostage. Eric pointed his gun forward towards Bright's head.

Molly ran into the room and began to attend another woman that was knocked against the ground and bleeding. Bright, Eric and Jackson all knew what was at stake and who had a gun pointed at each other.

"Well then Outsiders are you willing to lose a life to prevent the transformation of millions, but then again can you pull the trigger quicker than me?" Bright asked, carefully forming each word and enunciating each syllable knowing how they would influence the other two. However, it would be Jackson that had the upper hand.

Once the confrontation reached a certain point, he had slowed time down to a point that he could see everything happening and react accordingly. He waited for Eric to react and pull the trigger, he needed to make sure the battle went off without a hitch and he would need to correct Eric's mistakes.

Then Eric acted, he quickly pulled back his trigger finger and a chain of motions was set in place. The bullet flew out of the gun with flames from the muzzle flash quickly disappearing as the bullet travelled forward in slow motion.

Jackson knew what he had to do; he scanned the area and found Molly looking at him and Eric with a worried face that he knew Eric must have missed. He took a look at Bright and saw his trigger finger slightly twitching, he knew that the Dragon would be able to react perhaps quicker than a normal mortal and Jackson knew that he had to act.

He aimed his gun forward and lined it up with Eric's bullet's future path. Using his eyesight and his head he made a very educated guess and fired his bullet. He stopped his powers and as time returned to normal the situation played out.

Eric's and Jackson's bullets collided in the center of the room, their metal fusing and splitting in two different directions. The first flew through Bright's head and his brain, knocking him out.

At the same time the second bullet travelled at his gun and as it approached it traveled right into the muzzle. Bright's hand gave out just after he pulled the trigger and the gun flew out of his hand.

Everything stopped as Bright crashed into a table with a blood hole in his head and a bullet flew out of his gun right behind the woman's head. She screamed and ran over to the other woman and began blurting gibberish as Molly, Jackson and Eric took a look at Bright's body. He was dead alright....

"Yes Bright, even you the Dragon Emperor can find forgiveness somewhere. Just imagine all the good you will do instead of focusing on the past." Colin said as he winked at the shark and then he disappeared. Seemingly something was wrong with his head he was seeing memories all distance, maybe some from the future.

"You still don't get it do you, he was asking you to forgive yourself after all this time you don't have to feel guilty about my death." Dwight said as Colin turned away, he didn't want to hear that. Maybe he should have, but he ignored that.

"I don't have to do that." Colin said as he turned away from his father, seemingly still stuck in some sort of mind set about the times.

"Then you will die an old and bitter man." And then the neural net shut him out, instantly Colin was knocked against the floor and he felt his body failing as the lizard feel out of the harness and landed on the floor. But he remembered where Dustin was, he could feel the shark and just looking off into the distance, he was sure that he could see just the tiniest detail of the shark's aura.

Looking back at Elias, he made sure that he was going to hide what they discussed inside the machine. He didn't need to bring that up now, now was Dustin's time to be rescued and the lizard decided to take the noble path of ignoring his own pain in order to get Dustin rescued.

...

"Ok you are sure this is the building?" Elias asked as he stood in the elevator, a tiny instrumental theme being whistled over their head. Colin looked up into the sky and nodded, looking at it he could see Dustin's body, he could see Twilight's body both of them were on the top floor, strangely it was a bit random. But given the mental actions of the shark recently it wasn't out of his actions.

"Ok then, we are nearly there. Be careful with the gun and don't shoot at anyone's face just go for the Kagen's legs." Elias said as he prepared himself and made sure the lizard was accustomed to using the gun. Standing carefully Elias prepared himself and walked forward.

As the elevator doors opened to the top floor, Elias formed a ball of energy ball in his hands and looked forward. Opening the door, he walked forward and looked to the last apartment. Elias started to walk carefully and let Colin follow behind him as the two of them walked towards the door.

"Careful don't do anything stupid, and I'll do the same." Elias said as he reached the door and with his spare hand found it was locked. Elias took a breath and grabbed the doorknob with his other hand, instantly it melted in his hand and Elias backed around the door as he grabbed it open.

Stepping around the molten doorknob and guiding Colin around it, Elias quickly ran forward and looked around. In the living room, no one was inside. He turned back towards Colin who seemed to be afraid. And then forward, there was no one inside the living room.

"What are you waiting for they're right there." Colin said as he pointed forward and then Elias looked around the room, finding something under the couch with his vision. Looking down it was a tiny ball on the found, with a few projectors on the ground. Looking around it, it looked familiar to Elias and then he realized what it was.

"Now look at your faces, I managed to trick the unassailable Outsiders. And right now, you have no idea where Dustin is but you should now that this hologram is quite more than soild. In fact In would say that it contains a large portion of the energy of the humans in this building." The hologram ball spoke from a speaker as suddenly it started up, three balls of lights shining bright and releasing three lights, a hologram of Twilight forming and continuing the holograms words.

"What, stop this Twilight! Tell us where Dustin is, we did not go this far to be tricked by a hologram and an aura projection." Elias said as he realized that was what threw Colin off, surely by now Dustin was in some place where they couldn't be tracked.

The hologram laughed, some sort of character AI was controlling it and it seemed to hit the right amount of annoyance from the Kagen shark. Elias steamed as he realized that it would do nothing to fight, he needed to get information from the hologram and thus he reabsorbed his raw energy. Holding still he looked at the hologram and wondered if it did contain any information on the Kagen's current location.

"Oh please don't look surprised, you seemed surprised. Still I am just a hologram so how can I pick that up, or maybe there is a camera, or maybe inside that ball there is such a strong AI that it can simulate my mind and recreate me, but in that case does it even matter if this is a soild hologram?" Twilight said as he walked towards the back and grabbed it holding it up to his head as he looked at the beams of light that gave his thoughts life.

"But you only have a limited supply of energy, so then you will run out unlike Twilight. So please don't go on, we know what you have and we know how to defeat you. You have already lost this battle." Colin spoke, seemingly he was angry. Maybe he didn't like his time wasted or maybe he still didn't like the shark since he took Dustin from them.

"Ah yes Colin, I am surprised you all managed to get this far, I didn't think that would even be possible with your mind or maybe you used something else to track me?" Twilight asked as he walked around the room, holding the ball in his hand. As he smiled he placed it down on a table and looked at the two in front of him. He smiled and wondered how long he would have until they realized the ruse as well.

"So then no one in this building and I'm not going to give you any information I wonder how long you have until something happens, it be a shame if this whole thing was just a blow." Twilight said as his hologram decided to spill the beans seemingly this was when Elias realized what the shark was talking about. Looking back Elias watched as the door locked shut and the two of them were locked in.

"He's going to blow us up, isn't he?" Colin asked. Elias knowing Twilight's penchant for obvious tactics he looked at the hologram generator and knew that had to be the hologram generator. Of course the hologram too knew this and they both made a dash.

"Give me that!" Elias cried as he reached out for the table, and then before the hologram shifted and grabbed it out from the Kagen's grip. The hologram giggled a bit and looked below. Elias stood up and he had that look in his eyes, he was going to do something stupid again and Twilight decided to prepare him.

"Well then look at you the great late Kagen General of the war, I remember the men talking about you how they put you up on a pedestal and how much they adored you. And now look at you, struggling for a bomb while battling a holographic version of your brother, what would they say about you?" Twilight asked holding the ball firmly out of the reach of Twilight. Looking forward, the hologram knew he only had to distract for a little while more and then it would be too late for the group.

"So then I give this thing two minutes at most." Twilight said as he grabbed onto the ball and then twisted a switch. Elias looked, the ball wasn't even activated before but now the light from the hologram flashed red. The hologram of Twilight glowed red as he looked forward and looked at the Kagen shark defeated.

"Now then you two, clocks ticking so what are you going to do?"

...

"Now then take a look where I've taken you." Twilight said, Dustin's ears perked, and then a blindfold was taken off his eyes. Dustin closed his eyes, and then readjusted, as he opened his eyes looking around the place seemed to look strangely like the Outsider base, in fact it was the Outsider base.

"Would they ever look here for an Outsider and Colin cannot see inside of here thanks to the Azbantium walls; he'll see my little auragram somewhere down south and then the two of them will be nothing but little chucks on the walls of my apartment." Twilight said as Dustin tried to retort, but found a piece of ducktape over his lips.

Stuck to the chair, Dustin looked around as he realized something, the computers were still quite open and Twilight now had full access to the Outsider database, an idea that with any enemy was frightening but with the madness of the Kagen shark it seemed only twice as worse. Twilight had that smile on his face that Dustin feared and now was not the time to see it, trying to move his fingers he found they were taped down quite good, it would take him a while to escape the bounds of the shark.

"Of course your friends will find it hard to escape when both of them are of course without any leads on your location." Twilight said with a smile on his lips, this was his victory, this was how he won and this was what he would tell to everyone and to think about it would have been because he managed to beat his brother, and finally defeat an Outsider team.

"My victory will lead this world into a new age and together we will destroy them." Twilight said smiling at he looked at the shark, smiling at his victory, the Outsiders would soon know the true definition of pain.
