Unicorn's Nightmare: Save Me
#2 of Unicorn's Nightmare
What a man will do to save the one they love cannot often be described in words, and more often than not history forgets the deeds they would do, both good and bad. However, this is one time when the pages of history would be left stained by the efforts of a man willing to do whatever it took to find and rescue the one he most cherished.

If there was ever an embodiment of determination, then Revis of Harthstone was it. The stallion held a glint of unbreakable willpower in his eyes -- it was why he had been made the leader of the rebellion. Revis had a gift for strengthening the souls of everyone around him, making them feel like they could win, that they could actually make a difference. After all the time they'd spent under the forced rule of a cruel tyrant, the spark of hope that Revis had given them was exactly what the people had needed.
Even so, it had taken time for him to really build up the rebellion. Finding volunteers and willing soldiers was difficult, when most simply wanted to protect their families -- and to even speak of rebellion was to put not only them, but their entire family at risk. It was for this reason that Revis searched for those like him, for others that had lost the people they held most dear to them.
They were the people who no longer had anything to lose, and if anyone had the strength to bring them together, it was Revis.
The stallion had never looked more handsome than in the moment he stood before his little army, ready to storm the tyrant's fortress. Long, black hair hung over his shoulders, with a broadsword attached to his hip. His clothing was light aside from that; no shirt at all, and only leathers for his lower half.
Revis had always preferred agility in combat, and never bothered with anything more. It had its consequences, certainly; the scar that cut across his muscular chest was more than enough proof of that. But he was still alive, and that was what mattered.
"My friends," he began. He was soft, but in the silence that came in the wake of his voice, one would be able to hear even the sound of a leaf fluttering to the ground. "It is time. Donavis' fortress stands before us. We have torn down his defenses, freed the people from the sadistic guards he employs, but the fight will not be over until the tyrant is gone."
Revis bowed his head for a moment.
"If there was any other choice, I would take it. A man such as him is insane; he does not deserve death, but healing. For him, however, there is no more healing to be had. He is dangerous, and believes we are better off in a world without gods and without miracles." Revis' eyes blazed.
"But we know the truth. Many of you might think we would not have made it this far without the favor of the gods, without miracles to guide us along. I contend that you are the miracles, that the people of Midstram are a gift from the gods! We have beaten back Donavin time and again, torn his wretched claws out of villages and towns, and now we will do so one final time."
The stallion reached for his sword, grasping its hilt and thrusting the gleaming blade into the air. "And we will win."
The words were quiet, at odds with the strength of his action -- and certainly at odds with the reaction it drew from the crowd. Loud cheers, shouts, and more blades gleamed as they too were thrust into the air; men and women alike were stomping their feet, hollering. He'd given them energy. He'd given them hope.
Donavin would fall, and Midstram would be returned to its people.
Back in the confines of his own tent, Revis sighed quietly. He stared at the gleaming blade of his sword, watching the reflection of his face within it. A handsome horse stared back at him -- but it wasn't him. Those eyes were tired of all the fighting, tired of the war. Revis was not a fighter by any means; given the choice, he would have preferred to remain living a peaceful life, an isolated life.
Donavis had taken that option away from him when he'd lost his mate as a result of the gryphon's rule. Revis ran his fingers along the length of the steel, careful to avoid the edge; it was sharp, even now. It had been enchanted so that no matter what happened and whatever he put the sword through, it would always, always remain sharp.
"Nevrlisyst..." Revis whispered the name to himself, closing his eyes. Sometimes, he felt almost as though he could summon his lover to him as long as he said the name with enough conviction -- but each time, when he opened his eyes, there was nothing there.
This time was no different. Revis just couldn't help but feel like he had to try.
Truth be told, the stallion had no idea how their fight against Donavis would go. The gryphon had scientists that had advanced his technology to far greater heights than even Revis could ever have imagined; at the start of his reign, he had used sword and cannons, same as everyone else. Then things had begun to change. They saw vehicles that could move on their own, apparently powered by little more than steam, weapons that would fire a projectile infinitely faster than an arrow that could easily kill a grown man...
Who was to say that Donavis wouldn't have yet another surprise ready for them, when they stormed the fortress? Surely the gryphon would be sure to keep the best of his technology to himself. They needed to be prepared for any surprises they might encounter -- but knowing there might be a surprise was very different from being able to defend against it.
At this point, however, it no longer mattered. They were at final battle -- there was no retreating, no second guessing. He'd only returned to his tent to give himself a moment to grab his armor and steel his resolve; now, he needed to go out there and lead, and bring his army to victory against Donavis.
"For you, Nevrlisyst," Revis said softly, and donned his helmet.
The sun dipped over the horizon, the last, dim rays of the day slowly disappearing in favor of the gentle glow of the moon. It was then that Revis' army attacked -- in the dark of the night, where it would take longer for them to be seen and for Donavis' guards to be mobilized against them. Any guards that were on patrol were quickly taken care of with a well-placed arrow before they advanced; in this way, they were able to approach the fortress without being noticed. It loomed above them, large and terrifying, its architecture clearly built to intimidate.
Revis didn't care. He gestured, and a mage in the front touched a hand to the door; it opened gently at his touch, and they made their way in.
That was the first step.
It was then that they encountered their first surprise. Revis had thought it strange that there were so few guards outside, but now he knew why; the majority of them had been replaced by... automatons, for lack of a better word. Gleaming, golden gears interlocked together, and complex clockwork metal plating. Mismatched eyes glowed blue in the dark, and the mindless creatures swung at them, uncaring for their opponents' startled shouts.
But once Revis' army rallied themselves, they were easily taken. It was only then that Revis noticed that they seemed to have been patched together at the last minute -- almost as though it had been done in a hurry, because...
Because all the guards had left. They'd quit.
It clicked together all at once; the abandoned armor, the silence, the rumors they'd heard only days before about a favored guard captain being killed in a fit of anger. Donavis had incurred the wrath of his own men. Which was a good thing; this would make the coming battle a whole lot easier. Even these, the steam automatons that Donavis had somehow produced -- they were weak and rushed, easily defeated by the right application of force and trickery. Given time, they would no doubt have become a formidable force, but now Revis' men blew easily through the mechanical creations like they were little more than paper.
And then they were at the throne room. The room where Donavis sat on his chair, his famed steed standing docile beside him. A nightmare stallion.
Revis felt anger surge within him -- a feeling that was unnatural, for him, and one he did his best to quell. What made it worse was the little smirk that the gryphon wore, as though he was certain that there was no chance of him losing. How he wanted to wipe that smirk off the bastard's face...
But Revis hadn't been lying earlier, when he'd said that Donavis was gripped by a madness that deserved pity more than it did anger. Slowly, he forced himself to calm, though his gaze kept drifting towards Donavis' horse. Its mane was a faint, flickering black, as though formed out of shadow itself, and its coat had long since lost all its luster, and was colored a dull grey. Its wings fluttered behind it, but even they seemed somehow forlorn.
It had once been a person, he knew. A demon, yes, but a demon that had chosen to take the shape of an anthro horse -- but Donavis had broken him, forced him into little more than a feral beast whose mind was no longer his own. He felt the pang of sympathy in his heart, but forced himself to focus.
"Donavis." His voice was firm, despite his emotional turmoil. "You are outnumbered and outmatched. It is time to surrender."
The gryphon only chuckled. It was a dark, terrible chuckle, one that sent a chill through Revis' body; it took all of his strength for the stallion to hold his sword steady. Others around him did not fare as well, their stance wavering and their swords dropping -- but seeing Revis steel his resolve, they did the same.
"Surrender?" Donavis' voice was almost... jovial. "I am on the verge of killing the gods themselves, my friends. Why would I surrender now?"
And then Revis saw it -- the ring he held in a hand, clutched around his claws. It was a ring that some said was capable of destroying gods. Revis had known this was Donavis' plan; the gryphon had never made his goals a secret, but to think that he was actually close to accomplishing it--
Revis dashed forward, sword held at the ready. There was no time to allow Donavis to evoke even a fraction of the ring's power. His body sped forward, unnaturally quickly, and the nightmare stallion beside the gryphon king let out a whinny as he did so. His sword clashed against the steel plate of Donavis' armor. Magically enhanced, no doubt.
The rest of the force knew better than to interfere when Revis was fighting. The horse would focus his attention down into a laser, and anything that got in his way was more likely to get hurt than to be able to help meaningfully.
Blade clashed against armor and talon, both fighters moving with surprising grace despite their size. Revis had trained himself to move quickly, to dodge blows that mattered and to take the ones that didn't; Donavis, on the other hand, had the advantage of his wings. A single flap could generate enough force to launch him out of the way of one of Revis' strikes, allowing him time to gather himself and try a different tactic...
But there was a winner, of course. It was a battle to the death. Revis would have spared the gryphon, even then, but Donavis was gripped by his insanity -- he proclaimed he would not live in a world where the gods ruled, as there was no true free will. His movements had become even more frantic and erratic as he tired, until he dropped his talons mid-fight just as they would have blocked an otherwise fatal blow.
Revis' blade had cut straight into the gryphon's neck.
The flag of the resistance was raised soon afterwards. There was celebration, certainly -- wild and loud, with cheers and music filling the air. No one saw the leader of the rebellion step quietly to the side, pressing his medallion into the hand of his second-in-command, a handsome lizard named Gevar. He knew what it meant. The medallion was the symbol of his leadership over the rebellion, and he had never hidden the fact that he would one day hand over his position to the other man.
Even Gevar, however, did not see where he went after. Nor did anyone notice that the feral nightmare that had once stood by Donavis' side was no longer tied to its pole. The coincidence was undeniable, yet perhaps even those that did notice decided that the leader of the rebellion a deserved a final gift after leading them to their own freedom.
History would never know what happened to the pair. Revis and the nightmare stallion both faded to the annals of time, replaced instead by tales of Gevar the Mighty, the heroic lizard that led his band of troops from the scattered remains of Donavis' twisted army.
But Revis' tale was far from over.
He led the nightmare slowly into a hidden glen in the nearby forest -- a quiet, beautiful sanctuary, lit only faintly by the moon. Donavis had always called his steed Curse, as though it wasn't enough to bind a living being to his service; he treated the horse terribly, and spoke of it with the pride of a master who had broken a slave. Even his name had not been left to him. It was meant to be lost, forgotten.
But Revis knew the truth.
"Nev." His voice was soft. He looked deep into the nightmare's glowing eyes, searching for even the faintest trace of the man he had fallen in love with so very long ago. "Nevrlisyst, my love. Are you in there?"
The horse let out a soft whinny, nuzzling against his hand -- but there was no understanding in its eyes, no recognition or love to speak of. Revis stroked his hand gently through the stallion's dark mane, his voice almost seeming to choke on itself. "I am sorry it took me as long as it did to find you, Nev, but... I am here now."
He took a breath. Exhaled. Inhaled. Exhaled.
On the second exhale, he changed.
It had been so long that Revis couldn't remember the freedom of being in his true form. He'd forgotten what he even looked like; part of him wondered, almost, if the life before he'd led a rebellion to overthrow a tyrant had simply been a dream. But no -- he could see his coat changing, a pure blue spreading over his normally brown fur. He could feel the mane on his head slowly growing, spreading from his shoulders down to his waist.
Most striking of all, however, was not the pure blue coat or the hair. It was the horn -- and it flared to life with a burst of light. Revis let out a gasp as he clutched at his forehead in pain, and Nevrlisyst let out a whinny of alarm, rearing back onto his hind legs. Revis was thankful that the stallion hadn't run; his head throbbed with pain, as it did every time he made this transition. The magic to hide his true nature was not trivial, and it came at a cost.
He was a unicorn. His horn spiralled out of his forehead, beautiful and shimmering in the moonlight. Nevrlisyst had always told him how beautiful it was, and Revis had always been bashful about it. He'd thought the demon was just lying to him to get into his pants. As it turned out, well... Nevrlisyst had absolutely been trying to get into his pants.
But he hadn't been lying.
Revis smiled at his lover now, grasping the horse's jaw with a gentle hand and planting a kiss on the creature's nose. "I will save you," he told Nevrlisyst softly, and he could feel the horse shudder at his touch. It didn't know why his touch felt so familiar -- not yet. There was a ritual he could use to restore Nevrlisyst's mind and his personality, however, and now that he was back in his true form he knew exactly what he needed to do.
Revis sighed, taking a step back and touching the tip of his horn to Nevrlisyst's forehead. It was an affectionate gesture he'd shared with the demon in times long past -- his horn was one of the few weapons that could kill a demon, and between the two, it had always been a gesture of trust and affection. It was heartening to see that even without his mind, Nevrlisyst did not rear back or try to flee.
It meant that Nev was still in there, somewhere.
Revis had to admit, even in his feral form... Nevrlisyst was beautiful. The demon had shown it to him before, though he was shy about it; he felt like it showed his bestial, animalistic side, and he had been worried that Revis would hate it. The night they shared then was proof that the unicorn loved his mate no matter the form. And really, Nevrlisyst was never different -- anthro or feral, Revis had always been able to recognize him. There was a beauty in both his forms; as a steed, he had strong, supple muscle, intelligent eyes...
And a big, thick cock. That was something Revis wouldn't be forgetting about in any particular hurry, especially after that first night.
The unicorn closed his eyes, feeling his power flow through him. He placed a faintly glowing hand on Nevrlisyst's flank, muttering soft, reassuring words to the steed; he stroked along from the beast's neck to his tail, feeling the horse tremble beneath him. There was a part of Nevrlisyst that was trying to come out at his touch -- a part that was fighting its way through the magic Donavis had placed on him.
There was more than just that, of course. Nevrlisyst's body was reacting physically to his touch; the horse's cock had stiffened beneath him, flared head and ridge already ready to mount. The nightmare whinnied, rearing back a bit and causing those heavy balls to swing along with the movement; Revis had to take a moment to swallow his lust, to forget about how good it had felt when Nev had taken him so thoroughly with that very cock...
No, there would be time for that later. For now, he needed to get his mate back, and that meant filling the beast with his seed.
He slid his hand along Nevrlisyst's flank as he moved around to the back of the horse; the nightmare seemed to understand what he was doing and what he wanted, from the way it gave not even a whinny of protest. It didn't even make a sound when he licked his fingers and pressed the slick digits to the horse's hole; if anything, the tail swished out of the way, letting him press against that twitching pucker and tease the demon.
Feral or not, Nevrlisyst was still a demon, and demons loved sex in all of their forms. Sex with a unicorn was a bonus -- it was corrupting to the recipient, if the demon willed it to be. That Revis had never been corrupted was only another mark of what he'd had with his mate.
One finger slid slowly into the horse, and he felt the demon shudder against him, letting out a soft whinny of protest -- but the horse didn't move. There was a part of Nev, it seemed, that understood what he was doing, and it filled Revis' heart with joy to think that his lover might be so close. After years of searching, to think all that remained between them was a ritual of unicorn seed and blood...
Slowly, he pushed a second finger into the horse. Nev was more than flexible enough to take him, but Revis had always been careful with his lover -- often to the point that Nevrlisyst would tease him for worrying about breaking his demonic lover.Even his bestial form seemed to agree; he whinnied again, this time backing up slightly to force his fingers a little deeper.
Revis shuddered, feeling the lust and arousal start to flood his body.
He pressed his shaft against the demon horse's waiting hole, groaning softly at the feeling of the twitching hole pressed against the flat head of his shaft. It was difficult to push in -- he could feel the rim of muscle stretching awkwardly before it finally popped around the flare of the head of his cock, and then a second time around the central ridge -- but god was it worth it.
Nevrlisyst was tight. He hadn't been used for years, but demons couldn't typically handle that; they needed their sex, and they needed it frequently. It was no surprise that Nev's hole was practically wet with anticipation by the time he pushed in, and he grunted at the ease with which his cock slipped in; before he knew it, he was already halfway in, and he could feel a warm, undulating passage wrapped around the upper half of his cock.
And it was warm -- even warmer than he expected, in fact, the hole seeming to heat up around him as he pressed into it. He heard Nevrlisyst grunting with pleasure, and his senses told him that the demon's cock had stiffened, dripping corrupted seed onto the ground that turned the grass black. The beast's strong, massive body was pushing back against him need it, as if Nevrlisyst himself was doing it. He could remember the first time his mate had allowed him to fuck him... he'd done exactly this, push desperately back into his cock as though all he cared about was more.
It brought back so many memories.
Revis could feel his breathing stiffen, turning ragged as he slowly forced himself in and out of the demon horse's hole. It almost seemed to resist him, every time he pulled back -- it stretched with his cock, glistening wet with his precum. Fuck, half of it wasn't even his own pre; the nightmare was so eager that he had created his own lube, something that happened rarely with Nev. The demon had only ever done it when he was really, really needy. How long had he been starved of sex?
Part of Revis was glad, of course. Nevrlisyst was his. The other felt sympathy for his mate, and he quietly told himself that he would make up for all the time the two had lost together. He was slow and careful with every thrust, slowly sliding his throbbing, equine shaft into Nev's hole -- watching with wonder as the stallion took his entire length with seemingly no effort at all, letting out a neigh of pleasure instead. Revis was doing all he could to make sure his lover was enjoying it.
Revis wouldn't lie, though. It felt good for him, too -- that warm-yet-soft flesh squeezing gently around his cock with every little movement. He steadied himself on the horse's flanks, feeling Nev buck into him a few times; he heard a whicker, and despite himself, he grinned. "Enjoying yourself, love?"
Nev pushed back insistently, instead of responding, and the unicorn let out a groan of pleasure as that hot passage twisted and squirmed around his cock. He could almost swear it had been built for him, with the way it squeezed especially at the flare of his dick; he let out a whinny of his own, and began to thrust in earnest.
The unicorn's muscles gleamed in the dim light. The soft, blue coat of fur was only accentuated by the thin sheen of sweat as Revis grunted, shoving his cock into his mate again and again. He could feel Nev's flanks heaving, moving up and down as the horse's breathing grew heavier and deeper, and he began to thrust in earnest.
There was a benefit to having an equine shaft -- the flat head allowed him to hammer quite literally into his lover, and he felt more than he heard the loud whinny that Nev let out as he thrust in; shudders of pleasure through the horse's body, the heaving of his flank, the heavy breathing and the dripping cock beneath. He could feel it when the nightmare stallion finally came, too; that strong passage gripped and squeezed impossibly tight around his cock, milking him, and he came with a gasp. "N-Nev..."
Streams of seed filled the stallion, and he bucked helplessly, caught in the throes of his orgasm. His chest heaved, even as Nevrlisyst practically rode him by shoving back against him again and again, and he groaned as his cock threatened to become overly sensitive. There was already streams of his own seed, splashing down his thighs.
It was, however, far from over. There was a connection he'd had with his mate, one that had been broken when the demon had been summoned and his mind shattered; now, with his seed and its healing properties, that connection was being reestablished. It was just enough for him to feel the glimmer of intelligence returning to Nevrlisyst... and just enough to feel the overwhelming lust that the stallion felt.
Revis shuddered. It had been a long time since the demon had been able to satisfy himself in any way, it seemed.
He fell to his hands and knees, in part out of exhaustion and in part because he felt the mental nudge from Nev telling him to do so; the stallion was starting to exert that level of dominance that he'd once felt. Nevrlisyst always taken whatever he wanted from the unicorn, and Revis had always had a weakness for that big, thick equine shaft... he'd never been able to say no.
The demon would have stopped if he had, of course. He liked to project dominance, but he was hardly as mean as he pretended to be.
Revis grunted as he felt a big, thick shaft press against his hole; he was almost afraid, really. It had been so long since he'd done this... The unicorn spread his legs apart slightly, trying to remember; Nevrlisyst couldn't exactly prepare him, while he was in feral form.
He heard a snort from above him, and before he could even look up, he cried out. The equine had shoved his entire length inside of him, the flare on the head of his cock popping easily past his hole with the sheer force he had put out. Revis' body was jerked forward, and his stomach bulged obscenely from the force of the thrust.
He'd forgotten one thing, it seemed -- Demon precum was very, very good lube. In fact, it was often harvested for lube, precisely because of its properties. Many demons had cocks that were too large for their mortal partners, and so their precum was naturally enchanted; temporarily, it would allow flesh to be molded almost like clay, allowing them to stretch open their partner with no lasting harm.
And Nevrlisyst was using that property to its fullest, considering the way he was ramming himself in and out of Revis, not a care in the world except for the tight unicorn ass around his cock. Revis twisted around, resting his weight on a hand so he could look at Nev's face, and he was gladdened by what he saw.
Beneath that feral lust and need, there was a hint of intelligence. There was a hint of the old Nev, the one he'd fallen in love with... And the one who had fucked him exactly like this, once upon a time.
Given that fact, Revis could persuade himself to enjoy it.
It wasn't like he had much of a choice, anyway. The demon's precum had sensitized his flesh, and the sensation of being so utterly filled was something he had missed for years; that he felt it now made him almost scream with pleasure, and part of him wanted to debase himself, to beg for more like a common whore. One hand reached for his belly, rubbing at the obscene bulge visible in his stomach, and he heard the stallion let out a whinny of pleasure. Nevrlisyst leaned his head down and bit, the sound he made as close to a growl as he could get; a demon's show of dominance.
His teeth cut through the unicorn's flesh, but no further -- and as the salty, metallic tang of unicorn blood flooded his mouth, he shuddered. It filled him with a mixture of lust and love, a need to cum and make Revis his, but at the same time, it granted him back his intelligence. Memories began to flood back, faster and faster, and as they did, the stallion began to thrust faster and harder. He panting, his flanks heaving as he fucked the smaller unicorn beneath him, slamming himself into that hot little ass again and again--
And fuck, he was cumming, streams of demonic seed spurting out of his cock and into his unicorn lover. He was back into his body, and it was changing back into his true form even as he was stuck in the throes of orgasm.
It felt almost like having a second orgasm within the first -- the release of his power, the tingle of energy. His hooves softened, turning back into flesh, and five nubs of flesh grew into fingers. His coat, dull and grey, turned seemed almost like it caught fire. A flare of red spread from his hooves up to the rest of his body. Nev could feel his muscles rearranging themselves, giving him pecs, biceps, abdominal muscles...
And then he was him again, the demon horse that Revis had come to know and love, and his cock was buried deep inside Revis as he hugged the unicorn from behind. A rare show of emotion from him; he had to hide the tears that threatened to flow, instead allowing them to fall freely into Revis' mane.
"Revis," he spoke at long last, his voice hoarse from disuse. "Revis, Revis, oh god... You came for me. You came for me and you saved me."
"Of course I did." Revis groaned softly as he pulled himself off of the demon's massive shaft with a soft pop, his cock still hard and aching. Nevrlisyst might have achieved his second orgasm, but Revis certainly hadn't. He turned around in Nev's arms, pulling the demon on top of him and hugging them both, allowing them both to collapse together onto the forest floor. "How could I ever leave you behind?"
"That bastard summoned me." Nevrlisyst muttered, shaking his head. "He bound me. I couldn't find my way back to you, and I know unicorns can't use summoning magic; I thought I'd be lost forever..."
"I would never leave you like that." Revis was quiet. "I'd raze the world down to find you, you know that."
"I think you might have." Nevrlisyst let out a dry grin then -- a familiar smile that warmed Revis' heart. It would be awhile before he was truly over the years of his imprisonment... but they were together now, and whatever he had to face, they could do it together. "Thank you, love. Really."
"Does that mean you'll stop waking me up by teabagging me in the face?" Revis smirked, unable to help but insert just a bit of their usual, jovial interaction into the moment. Nevrlisyst stared at him for a moment.
Then he grinned himself, a handsome smile that lit up his whole face. "Hell no."
