Commission for blinkblinkblink
When the meek and mild Elena is assaulted by a bully panda named Ariel, she feels like all hope of a normal life in college is out of her grasp, but thanks to a friend, Ariel soon sees the error of her ways...
"Higher Education"
It was a perfect day outside; the sun was shining through the classroom windows, letting in the best amount of warmth to keep Elena comfortable without making her sleepy. Still, that didn't keep the young squirrel from yawning a bit and stretching her arms out as the professor tapped out a series of calculations on the board, his instructions were somewhat lost on her, being her last class for the day, she would rather be out enjoying the freedom of the outdoors. She was so lost in her daydream that she didn't even realize that the professor had glanced in her direction and asked a question:
"Ms. Mariksen, I would appreciate it if you could answer me instead of staring dreamily outside?" He repeated with a throat clearing that made her jump to attention.
"Oh! I'm sorry... I wasn't even paying attention."
"Clearly." He responded in a deadpan tone of voice just as a soft tone vibrated throughout the room, indicating the end of class. "Alright class, I know it's going to be very hard to remember this, but I need a clear explanation of Lyan's Law of Algebraic Calculations written up in your own words by next class." He said, pressing his glasses up the ridge of his nose as the entire room began to file out. "And Ms. Mariksen, I'd like to speak with you please."
"Oooohhh!" A few girls near Elena uttered tauntingly.
"What're you like, twelve?" She said to the group before rolling her eyes and heading down toward the professor.
Professor Dickson was a lemur; scrawny, gangly and looked a bit like a bobblehead with the strange proportions of his head-to-body size. But he was always nice to his students, and had become one of Elena's favorite professors. He was sitting at his desk as she approached and for a moment, he didn't look at her, instead flipping through a portfolio on his desk. He sighed after a moment and turned his golden-amber eyes to her. "So, am I boring you this late in the semester, Elena?" He asked with a serious gaze.
"What?" Elena scoffed. "No, you're not at all! It's just that it's a Friday and I've been cooped up in the dorms all week thanks to the rain. Now that it's all sunny out--"
"I understand, I really do." He said removing his glasses and placing them on his desk before leaning back and placing the tips of his index fingers together at his lips. "You are one of my best students, Elena. You've always had your assignments in on time, always had such exemplary work to show for yourself, but lately I've noticed that your attention has been sort of waning; both during class and even in your work. Normally I don't even take a second look at your papers before I give you the highest marks of any of my students, but in the past couple weeks they've been slipping noticeably."
"I'm sorry about that." She said. "I'm just dealing with some things right now, but I promise I'll get better."
"Mmhmm, and I believe you mean well. I just don't want to see my brightest student in any sort of trouble." He paused and frowned. "You're not in any trouble here are you?"
"No, no. It's nothing like that, my school work is always the priority. I just have some personal stuff. That's all. I won't let it interfere anymore."
"Okay." He answered before sitting back in his chair. "Tell you what; if you promise me that you can deal with whatever you've got to deal with, you can pass on the assignment I gave to the other students tonight."
Elena shook her head. "No, no I'll still take it." She said. "I mean, I know Lyan's law so I can make a good report out of it. I don't want to take any special treatment from my professors." She chuckled. "Everyone thinks I'm a little teacher's pet as it is." She smiled. "I'll get my life sorted out, Professor. But thanks!"
"Alright. That's all I needed to hear." Dickson said, leaning forward again. "You can go now."
His pleased demeanor seems to calm Elena's frayed nerves, she smiles and nods. "Thanks, Professor." She said as she turned and began to walk toward the exit.
"And Elena?" He called after her. She turned and saw that he was still looking at his books, not glancing up at her as he read. "My privileged students should know that my name is Nick, not 'Professor' right?"
"O-okay then. 'Nick'." She said, trying not to sound awkward and failing. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Have a good day outside." He said. "It is really nice, I hope to crawl out into it soon and enjoy it myself."
Elena headed out into the main hall, which had, for the most part, been cleared of most of the afternoon traffic. She shifted her pack over her shoulder and made her way down the hall toward the stairs, looking at her watch, she tapped the screen and the 3D digital display opened the time: 3:14; her classes were done, but she wasn't planning on headed back to her dorm right away.
Darien's Grand College of Washington DC; or GCWDC was among the largest new colleges in the new Grand design. Unlike colleges of the late 21st century, the Grand colleges were set like small cities, where the majority of the school's complexes, walkways and even parks were indoors in a self-contained eco system to better lessen environmental impact to the planet. Established in 2026, it is the newest and most technologically advanced school in the country, if not the world. Five and a half square miles were dedicated to it, but still it was good to step out into the fresh air every now and again.
Elena found a dispenser chute and withdrew a card from her wallet before setting her bag on it. She swiped the card and recited "Seven-two-two-four" there was a flicker and the chute closed as it shot her bag into the network. It would soon arrive in her dorm room and be waiting for her when she returned. She descended the steps leading to the second level and followed the hall to the moving sidewalk that would lead her to the nearest exit door. She gazed down into the massive dome flooring down below which was teeming with students, teachers and the general habitat of maintenance workers that lived here. She quietly leaned against the railing that moved along with the sidewalk, being sure to scoot forward anytime someone chose to pass her. After a few minutes she came to her junction and gingerly stepped off, onto the solid platform. Elena turned around to face the walkway again, a strange feeling told her she was being watched and she grew nervous. She extracted a phone from her pocket:
"Call Jain."
"Calling Jain. One moment." The phone responded as she lifted it to her ear.
"Hello?" A hoarse voice answered the phone followed by a somewhat phlegmy cough.
"Jain, hi, it's me." Elena said. "You sound terrible! I guess that's the reason you weren't in class today, huh?"
"Y-yeah." She responded. "Sick as a damn dog." She said. "Sorry I couldn't be there today."
Elena blushed. "Oh, don't worry about it, I'm sorry I bothered you."
"Why did you decide to call? What's wrong?"
"Mmm..." Elena said looking over her shoulder again. "It's nothing much, I just wanted to check in with you."
"That bitch Ariel isn't trying to do something is she?" Jain asked. "Because if so, tell her I'll kick her ass if she tries."
Jain always looked to Elena like a little sister, she was always on the lookout for any trouble directed toward her and would in particular, always try to prevent any bullying caused by a red panda named Ariel, whose threats had become pretty much a daily occurrence since the semester had begun. Elena could only roll her eyes to think of the trouble Ariel had caused in High School, but it seemed as though the 'fun' of messing with her had doubled since then. "No. I mean... I'm worried, but I haven't seen her in a few hours."
"Good." She said. "Just call me if she makes any trouble. Anything to get me up and moving, I think I was delirious a little while ago. I kept on shouting at my cat to leave the holodeck..."
Elena cringed, there hadn't been any feline pets around for ages. "Just... get some rest and we'll talk when you're feeling better."
"Okie cookie..."
Jain's senses seemed to be slipping with either the sickness or the drugs she was using to feel better. Elena felt it best to simply hang up the call. She checked her watch again, the display read 3:30. She still had an hour before exiting the dome was not possible for the rest of the evening and when she looked up, she noticed the bathroom sign that indicated one in the corridor near her. Not one to really take the call of nature outside she decided it would be best if she used it and washed up before stepping out. She tended to be gone for a couple of hours, even if it were to smell the roses in the garden almost two sectors away and nothing else. She walked to the ladies room and pushed the door open to let herself in.
The stalls were vacant, she swiped her finger along the display for one and it opened. She stepped inside and the door closed behind her. It didn't take long before she heard the door open again, then the beep indicating someone was trying to access her stall. "Someone is in here." She said, and the person moved to the next stall. After Elena finished she stepped back out and washed her hands, looking up at the reflection in the mirror.
She was a meek-looking squirrel; big purple eyes, a set of buck teeth that barely protruded from her mouth. Soft light brownish fur, she was the typical size for anyone in her family and they'd never had an issue with bullying. She cupped her hands, filled it with water and splashed it over her face, wondering exactly why Ariel seemed to target her so hard.
As she looked up from the sink, she shrieked at the sight of Ariel's face standing beside her in the mirror. Instantly, the panda grabbed her with both hands and slammed her against the wall, causing her to strike her head and cry out in pain. "So, where's your bodyguard today? Huh?" Ariel's hands were pretty strong and squeezed on Elena's shoulders tightly.
Two of Ariel's friends; a fox named Amanda and another red panda named Bree were beside her, grinning stupidly like they'd just caught Elena with her hand in a cookie jar.
"Ow! Ariel, you're hurting me!" Elena complained, grabbing Ariel's wrists and feebly attempting to unhinge her grip. "St-stop it... ahh!" She was roughly bumped against the wall again.
"Is your little wolfy friend too sick to come to your rescue this time?" Ariel ignored Elena's pleas and pouted her lips out. "Are you gonna cry, baby? Are you?"
Elena's eyes were beginning to tear up, she was worried what Ariel would do to her. She was so timid and nervous that she didn't have the nerve to fight back, instead opting to try and pull herself from Ariel's grasp. "P-please..." She whimpered.
"I'll let you go. I mean after all, above all things I do see myself as a merciful type." Ariel said after a few moments. "But you've got to do one thing for me."
"Sure, sure. Anything... just stop this please!"
Ariel smiled before speaking very clearly for the squirrel. "I want you to say that you aren't as pretty as me; that you're just a pathetic, lowly nerdy bookworm. That you'll never have a guy in your life, that any guy who looks at you will immediately be turned off. That you're too ugly to even get laid and nobody wants you..."
Elena whimpered and hesitated for a moment, but a squeeze to her shoulders forced her forward. "Okay..." She spoke, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks. "I'm a-a pathetic lowly bookworm, a nerd. I'm too ugly to ever have a guy or get laid. Nobody wants me."
"Hmm." Ariel pondered. "Well, it's not exact, but I suppose it'll be a pass." She said as she abruptly released her grip. "Now get out of here before I change my mind."
Elena burst out into tears before running to the door of the bathroom and escaping, leaving Ariel and her friends to laugh after her. As she fled, she failed to notice another figure near the door, who turned to watch her run, then glare at Ariel and her friends as the bathroom door swung shut once again.

The sound of a whistle blowing interrupted Ariel and her friends as a volleyball came back across the net. Missing each of them and simply bouncing off the floor of the gymnasium floor, they turned to see one of the gym workers rush out to point at them.
"Ladies, I've told you before that if you're planning on doing a group sport, you need to play it outside the main congregation area."
"Oh we were just bopping the ball back and forth..."
"In front of fifty weight machines that people are waiting to use, you've got an official warning, Ariel. Now please find another place to do this, or you can leave."
Ariel scoffed as the coyote walked off toward other machines. Bending down and pulling a towel out of her bag with a pink bottle of water, she took a sip as her friend Amanda reached for her own. "So, the girls are wanting to head over to Jamba's for a drink, did you want to come with?"
"Nah." Ariel said after a moment's thought. "I think I'm just going to hit the showers and head back to the dorm. I'm kind of wasted at the moment."
"Mmm. Okay." Amanda didn't seem too off-put by Ariel's decision. "Well if you change your mind, just give us a call and you can catch up, okay?"
Ariel smiled. "Okay. Thanks."
Gathering her bag and taking a sip of her water, she started back toward the locker rooms. As she entered the room, it sounded like an oversized metal chamber from how empty it was. Peeking around she was a bit disappointed there were no guys in here; after all, this gym was pretty coed in every aspect. She got to her locker and began to strip down, hearing something bang in the distance startled her, but as she looked around, she seemed to still be completely alone. She folded her towel and tucked it neatly under her arm as she put her clothes into the locker and locked it. She walked into the bath and ran her hands along the hot water of one of the tubs. Setting her towel off to the side, she climbed up and stepped into the water. Moaning softly as she settled down into the tub. She sighed and closed her eyes, she slowly sank into the water and emerged after a moment to take a deep breath and relax.
The water was hot and steaming, she just wanted to lie there and soak for a while. She soaped and washed her fur and eventually stepped out of the bath. For the furred students, there were handy, multi-directional blow dryers on a platform that she used until she was almost completely dry. She brushed as she headed back to her locker and was startled by another banging noise. Rushing to her locker, she put her clothes back on in a hurried fashion, then after a few flicks of her hair she looked over her shoulder and noticed a male was undressing just opposite of her locker row. She exhaled a sigh of relief as the man; now noticably a lion turned and looked at her, he didn't have a full grown mane like most of the lions did. Instead it was cut off along the front, leaving a clean shoulder-length mane of hair that fell over his back and the sides of his head. A strange purple marking on his face seemed to accent his feline eyes and his physique only seemed to light Ariel's up.
"Ah, hello there." She said.
The lion smiled a bit and leaned against the locker, not seeming to mind that he was dressed only in a pair of briefs. "Good evening. How are you?"
"Oh, haha. I'm fine." She said. "Are you getting dressed? I don't remember seeing you in the showers."
"Do not mind me, I've already bathed. But I forgot something and had to collect it and I just got back."
"I see." She said. "Well, it's a shame I missed it."
"No it isn't."
Confused, Ariel went back to finishing getting dressed. "So, do you have a name? Or should I just call you "burly lion in the locker room" to all my friends?"
"Ah." He said, reaching over the locker with his hand. "I am Malekai Domitius Atellus von Schattenburg." He took her outreached hand and kissed it gently upon the knuckle. "Pleasure to meet a woman as experienced in the art of man hunting as you are."
"Why, thank you." Ariel blushed, unsure how to take the compliment. "What do you mean by that?"
"I simply mean a woman as beautiful as yourself probably beds well with others."
Ariel blinked for a moment, before her mind rolled off the rails. "Wait... Schattenburg, why does that name sound familiar? Are you related to Louen Grünwald?"
"You know my father?" Malekai asked. "How fortunate, he is my most beloved relative." He smiled. "I come from a rather privileged family."
"You're lucky. All of my relatives are snooty and snotty and don't want to have anything to do with me."
"I can imagine..." Malekai spoke, his words trailing off.
"So, what do I call you? Do I need to address you as mister Von Schattenburg? Malekai Domitius...?"
Malekai chuckled, his voice resonating deeply. "No, please. Just Kai will do fine."
"Kai." She said softly, pursing her lips into a smile. "You know, you'll need to forgive me for not recognizing you off the bat, I've only seen pictures of your father and frankly you don't look at all like him."
"Is it because I shaved the mane?" He asked, stroking his chin where the bottom of his lion's mane should go.
"It could be." She said. "I've always had an eye for business, it's good to see that you've benefited from your dad's wealth too, I mean getting in here was probably not an easy task since you were born in Germany, right?"
"I like to think I live off my own achievements." Kai said. "I don't like to use my looks or... assets to have an advantage over those who have less."
"What could you mean by that?" She smiled as she watched Kai pull on his long coat, mostly covering his naked torso. He had put on a pair of black leather pants and boots as they spoke and hardly even noticed it.
"I am talking about you fucking professors to ensure your grades stay at the required levels." He said sternly, causing Ariel's face to fall suddenly into a look of concerned confusion.
"What are you--?"
"I am here with a proposition for you; stop your petty bullying, or it will come bite you in the ass."
Ariel scoffed, her teeth clicked and she crossed her arms in agitation. "Just what do you hope to get out of this? Who sent you?"
"No one sent me." He said. "But I came in response to your attitude toward Elena Mairksen. I saw what you did to her yesterday."
"So, what are you some good fairy godfather or something? Why don't you learn to mind your own business?" She asked. "You don't have anything on me, so I don't have to do shit for you."
"Mmm... I'm afraid you are wrong about that." Kai said as he reached into the breast pocket on the inside of his jacket and pulled out a small silver disc. Placing it onto the locker he smirked at her. "Let us see your 'extracurricular activities', shall we?"
Pressing the button on the disk, there was a slight humming noise before displaying a hologram on top of the shiny surface. Ariel looked in horror as the image showed her on top of a desk with a large bear under her. The audio wasn't on, but from their expressions the pair were screaming and moaning as he slid her down his shaft like a knife in butter. Both completely naked on top of his desk, Ariel could only stare in surprise at the quality this video had been taken in.
"That... that's not..." She said.
"You mean that is not Professor Greesus? Or that is not you fucking a forty-five year old professor?" Kai asked facetiously.
"You don't have any way to prove that's me." She said. "The quality of that holovid, it could easily be someone else."
"Oh, I could zoom in on it, I could make sure the quality is more your liking. Or I could turn it up, and move forward to this part, it is my favorite..."
Before she could say anything, Kai moved his finger along the ring of the disc in a circle, fast forwarding the hologram until a very different position could be seen. This time, the massive muscle-gut bear was standing on the floor while Ariel lay face down on the desk as he plowed into her again and again.
"Oh god! Yes! Yes! Fuck me harder professor! I've been such a bad stu-stu-student!"
"Ariel! Ariel! Fuck! Earn that A! Uuungh!" He growled and grunted as he continued to assault her, scratching his claws along her back as he lifted her off the floor with every slamming blow. Stretching her legs out, he let out a snarling roar and suddenly his cock fell from her, spurting cum across the side of his desk and onto the floor before Kai paused the playback.
"I'm confused, are you not worried about getting pregnant from being fucked so hard?" Kai asked.
"What the fuck do you want?" Ariel snarled. "I haven't done anything!"
"I want you to stop your harrassment toward Elena." He said. "For one thing it's ridiculous to hold such a grudge against someone who's done nothing to bother you."
Ariel's eyes were watering at this point; so beyond speaking correctly that for a moment all she could do was sniffle out half-cohesive words before beginning to talk again. "Y-you can't do this... it's blackmail!" She said in a half-screeching voice. "I'll be ruined!"
"Well, blackmail is an ugly word and a dirty business." Kai said, returning the holodisc to his pocket.
"H-how! How did you manage to take that? His office is has no surveillance in it!!"
"Well, I guess magic then." He said. "If you stop harassing Ms. Mariksen, you'll never have to worry about this disc seeing the light of day."
Ariel let out a long sniffle, running her arm across her nose and mouth. "A-and if I don't?"
"I bet you could guess." Kai said. "It'll be played on every holo-projector in this school, everyone on this... extremely large campus will know that not only are you cheating to have a grade point advantage over students who earn theirs, but that you are one of the biggest sluts in the short history of GCWDC. Your reputation will be ruined socially and academically." He paused. "Well, one of three anyway. I have vids of your friends Amanda and Bree doing some very un-lady-like things themselves." He smiled with a toothy grin. "The decision is up to you."
"Okay. Okay, just give me the disc and I'll stop bothering her."
"You have my word, if you stop bothering her, you won't have to worry about this ever again."
Wordless, but not being stopped by Ariel, Kai straightened the collar of his jacket and quietly walked past her on his way out the door. She turned around and her eyes followed him until he vanished through the doorway. Feeling weak in the knees, she crumpled down into a sobbing mess on the floor, feeling its coldness against her arm as she lay there.
***
The evening had grown rather dark as the sun setting in the sky made the impression of the night coming. There was a buzz in the street light above Elena's head as it flickered to life, followed by several walkway lights along the pathway next to the tree she was sitting under. She had been crying for what felt like hours that the sudden incursion of night startled her. She rubbed the tears out of her eyes and looked at her watch; it was almost seven o'clock, but she didn't want to go back inside right now. She just couldn't hope to face Ariel and her friends right now, she returned her face into her lap and began to sob softly still.
"My little liebling, what is the matter?"
The voice caused Elena to snap her head upright just as Kai's hand came down and petted her on the back of her head. "Kai..." She whispered his name before leaping to her feet and wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. Somewhat surprised by this, he slowly wrapped his arms around her and returned the hug as she sniffled and pulled back. "What are you doing out here? How did you know I'd be here?"
"You... always come out here, but this is the first time I've seen you like this."
Elena frowned and placed her hand on the back of her neck. "Oh... right." She sniffled. "It's ...it's this panda I know named Ariel. She bullies me, and it's not just the standard stuff like things that happened in High School, she just doesn't let up on me. I tried hiring a bodyguard to help deal with her, but she's sick today so Ariel and her friends didn't waste any time..."
"They didn't hurt you did they?" Kai asked.
"No, nothing more than my pride and feelings anyway."
"Oh Elena, Elena. When will you learn that you need to be more assertive? You can't let these bullies taunt you like this. You need to be stronger! Harder to defeat! These girls make you weak, but you need to show them you are not!"
Lowering her eyes, Elena let out a soft breath. "I know." She said. "But it's not as easy for me as it is for you."
"There are no excuses!" He said sternly enough to shock her, but then his expression lightened. "I do not like to see what they did to you." He took his finger and lightly brushed her cheek until she looked at him and he smiled in return. "These hündinnen did things to you that you shouldn't deserve. They hurt you, and they should not be capable of doing that."
"But what am I going to do?"
Kai shrugged. "I will be honest with you, I saw what they did and I've already had a little talk with the panda."
"Y-you did?"
Kai nodded slowly. "No one deserves love more than you do, and now that they know I am protecting you, they will never do anything to jeopardize that ever again."
Elena giggled a bit and embraced Kai's neck again, causing him to impulsively pull her closer into a deeper hug. "Thank you." She whispered into his ear ever so softly before he let her go again.
"Also, I have a gift for you, liebling." He said casually as he reached into his right coat pocket.
"Really? What is it?"
Before she could finish asking the question, Kai had pulled a gold amulet from his pocket. A mirror to the egyptian-style amulet he wore around his neck, it instead had a blue stone in the center instead of his black stone. She looked at it in awe as he leaned forward with it and latched the amulet around her neck. "It... it's beautiful!" She exclaimed cheerily as she looked down and admired the necklace.
"Take very good care of that." Kai said. "The stone is very special, whenever you are in trouble or you are hurt, I'll know it through the stone and I will be beside you in an instant."
"Really? How?"
Kai smirked. "Magic, of course." He said.
Giving him yet another hug and a peck on the cheek, Elena's mood seemed to lighten incredibly all of a sudden. "Thank you." She said sweetly as she again looked at the necklace. "I don't know how often you hear this, Kai... but you are a hero to me."
Kai smiled. "Anytime, Elena."
Pleased, Elena bid Kai a farewell before turning around and making her way back toward the door. As she gave him another wave, she activated the lock and stepped through to head inside, leaving the lion alone by the tree. Kai's expression fell into a frown, cupping the necklace he wore in his hand, it gave a slight flicker. "I'm such a fool..." He said to himself. "A hero? She doesn't even know what I am..."
There was a short silence before a voice interrupted Kai's thoughts: "Excuse me?" As he looked up, he was rather surprised to see an older, large white bear standing in front of him. Professor Gressus in the flesh. "I'm sorry, are you a student here?"
An uncontrolled grin came to Kai's face as he sat upright and looked the professor directly in the eyes. A look that clearly disturbed the bear. "Yes." Kai said. "As a matter of fact, I am."
