All's fair in love and Pokemon contests
Ryan always enjoyed Pokémon contests, although, he rarely attended unless his friend Nissa and her Vulpix Passion were taking part. Although he genuinely enjoyed the spectacle, he was really attending for Nissa's sake, both because she was an important friend and because he hoped that perhaps, one day soon, their friendship might become something more.
Things looked good too. Passion had worked hard over the last year and Ryan and Nissa were confident that she would blitz the qualifier and win her place in the National Tour. Unfortunately, disaster strikes! And Passion injures herself exiting the stage. Nissa's contest dreams were over, as were Ryan's hopes of cultivating something in the excitement of victory but sometimes, the universe has unexpected twists in store.
This is a trade with the wonderful XD4000 who I have really enjoyed leasing with over the last few weeks. Word limits...sort of fell by the wayside on this one as I was enjoying writing it too much : ) I am somewhat concerned that the length will put some people off and I considered releasing it in multiple parts but it really is a single story and even if you don't read it all in one go, its probably best posted as a single file.
I really did enjoy writing this one and I hope you guys enjoy it too! And I am really happy with the accompanying picture : ) I think it came out great!
Pokémon contests were not really Ryan's thing and yet, every time he saw one live, he wondered why he wasn't more interested. He had to admit the stage impressed every time with its surprising sense of scale and complicated lighting rigs; Arrays of tiny spot lights roamed in perfect synch across its surface while upbeat music seemed to reflect the excitement that was already palpable amongst the audience.
Ryan scratched absently at his short brown hair, his hackles rising in response to the room's energy. The audience wasn't huge, this was a preliminary round before the first round proper. The top four today would qualify for the national championship but what they lacked in attendance, they compensated tenfold with noise. You would think that there was something exciting going on with the way they were whooping and cheering but the only people on stage were a couple of technicians.
He adjusted his green, dress-shirt slightly, before wiping a light sheen of sweat from his forehead. Even with the small crowd it was very hot and he had dressed fancier than most. Smart jeans and a brand new shirt purchased just a few hours ago formed his wardrobe but it was worth it to look good for Nissa. He glanced sideways and smiled, feeling his pulse rise slightly. "When is Passion on?"
Nissa's face lit up and you could almost see her body tense as if she wanted to jump up and down. She moved an arm, thick with brightly coloured bracelets to clear a long, blonde strand of hair from her eyes "Third" she said "This year we are getting past the qualifiers for sure F! We worked so hard for this"
Nissa loved Pokémon contests and had been training hard with her beloved Vulpix Passion for quite some time. It was one of the reasons Ryan liked her. Well, more than liked her. She was one of those people who just seemed to enjoy being alive. Her passion and enthusiasm for her Pokémon was something he had always admired and he certainly made sure to attend any contest she was taking part in.
"Absol!"
Nissa leaned down slightly and scratched the fluffy white Pokémon gently "I know you are hungry Chaos but don't you want to see Passion compete? She has worked so hard for this"
The large, white furred creature gave her a slightly flat look and settled down to watch the stage. Ryan knew Chaos could be grumpy but he did get on perfectly well with Passion, after all, the pair had produced more than one egg.
Ryan sighed slightly and looked back to the stage. A change in music and a shifting in the pattern of lights announced that the contest was about to start. He stole one last side-ways glance at Nissa before settling down to enjoy the spectacle. Maybe he should say something after the contest, finally confess his love. If Passion did well then perhaps there would be a good atmosphere for it. He gave a small, self-indulgent smile. He knew he would chicken out but for the moment, he enjoyed the fantasy. If Passion won, he would ask Nissa on a date.
"Good Afternoon everyone" came a loud voice over the tannoys "Welcome to the 3rdpreliminary heat at Ebon town's famous Pokémon contest centre! The top 4 contenders today will earn entry into the National Tour! The first round of which will be being held here in just three days!"
The music built to a crescendo as if to further punctuate his point before fading again "I know you are all eager to get started, so with no further ado, please make some noise as we open with the cute contest!"
There were a series of cheers and the lights dimmed slightly. The music switched track, yet again and soon a Pikachu appeared on the stage from behind the curtains. "Please, welcome our first contestant, Lumi the Pikachu!"
Lumi was dressed in a rather ridiculous pink and white frilled dress, if F and parents almost as if she was some kind of anime magical girl. The electrical mouse moved across the stage rather clumsily before turning to face the audience and using attract. A large pink heart, lazily drifted through the air towards the audience, before fading to the sound of a single "Pika!" There was no denying that the 'chu' was cute, though, recently, Pikachu's had been struggling in these contests due to a certain amount of audience fatigue, they were very common entrants after all.
The Pikachu struggled through the rest of her routine. If it was to be judged purely on appearance she would be in with a good chance. Her costume was well designed and a good fit to her small frame. Additionally, she had just the right amount of pudge to maximize her cuteness, unfortunately, she was unpractised and her routine was far from expertly performed. In the end, she achieved a polite clap and a 6.0 from the judges. Ryan could spot the disappointment in her trainer's eyes from here.
The Pikachu was followed by an Eevee, always a good choice for the cute contest. This adorable ball of fur performed a fair bit better, weaving and dancing across the stage, stealing the crowd's hearts with a series of well-orchestrated physical attacks. The Eevee moved well, using the entire stage though, his routine was perhaps a little too athletic, integrating some elements that would have been more suited to the cool contest.
The Eevee earned a respectable 8.5 and a fair few enthusiastic whoops from the crowd. Ryan glanced over and couldn't help but grin. Nissa was enraptured with the display and was clapping her hands with all her might. It was adorable and once again,, her enthusiasm tugged at his heart.
The Eevee was followed by a Mareep and then a Luvdisc. One by one, a whole host of adorable Pokémon performed upon the stage. Had the contest been based on looks alone, almost all of them would have got high scores but appearance and costume was only one element of the scoring. Skill and routine mattered, and honestly, the level of competition was actually a little underwhelming. It was a qualification round in fairness and he guessed that this was to weed out the Pokemon that looked the part but were not ready to actually compete in a serious contest. Last year, Nissa had failed to make it past the qualifier but she had worked so hard since then with Passion. They had spent months working on her routine, really working to break through that casual barrier that the qualifiers were mainly aimed at. Ryan had watched a few of those practice sessions. Passion was making top 4, there was no doubt.
After the Cute contest was the Cool contest and it was opened by a flawlessly groomed Umbreon. Ryan had never seen such an impressive specimen, his black fur seemed darker than night and his yellow markings shone so brightly they left an afterimage as he moved. His expression seemed almost contemptuous of the audience; as if he did not care they were there. The audience seemed to love this confident attitude.
"I love Umbreons" smiled Nissa "I would like to get one to accompany Chaos, how cool would they look together! I'd even be tempted to do some 2v2 battling with them...if I could find some trainers that would go easy on me"
Ryan gave an amused sniff "Battle? You freak out if Passion sits on her tails, I cannot imagine you allowing your Pokémon to get injured like that"
She gave him a slightly defensive look "P...Passion is delicate...Chaos here is tough, aren't you hun" she scratched his head with a grin "Yes you are...yes you are!"
Chaos gave her a flat look "Ab....sol" We both giggled at the big creature's irritation until we were interrupted by the announcer awarding the Umbreon a 9. He was almost certainly through to the first round proper, Fourth place in the cute contest had only gotten an 8.6
The contest continued with a wide variety of entrants showing off an impressive array of skills. The competition here was a little stiffer than it had been in the cute contest but in the end, the Umbreon was joined by another pair of Eeveelutions and an Alakhazam.
The smart contest was up next and it ran much the same. Again, the competition seemed a little sharper and Nissa was just as enthralled by this contest as any other. She had always wanted to enter the smart contest but she just didn't really have a suitable Pokémon at the moment. Ryan could understand that, he felt the appeal himself but he wasn't a Pokémon trainer, he would be starting from absolute scratch. Thinking about the effort required to reach the skill level of even the clumsy trainers on show quickly put him off.
Finally, it was the Beauty contest and it was opened by a Glaceon. I could see Nissa tense slightly and push forward closer to the stage. This was the contest she and Passion had entered and it seemed that the first competitor was a strong one. The Glaceon strode across the stage like she owned it and her appearance was striking. It was almost like she was smiling, radiating a sense of self that I could feel from here. She cast ice beam into the air, almost casually, as if she was making the decisions on the fly rather than using a routine. A series of snowflakes drifted down like a shower around her, reflecting the spotlights into a dazzling dance of colour.
I could feel Nissa start to get nervous. This was easily the best performance we had seen all day and it was simply on another level. I wasn't entirely sure Passion could compete with this and if the other competitors were similarly talented, then it felt like Passion might be out of luck.
The Glaceon proceeded to perform move after move, each, while her graceful dance seemed like the most natural, effortless demonstration of her elegance. Her beauty was striking, it left a mark on everyone who watched and when her routine was finished, well, I could swear the venue made enough noise to convince anyone outside it was a full house.
The Glaceon earned an incredible 9.8 and was followed up by an Arcanine. The creature looked stunning but its routine was lousy. I could almost feel Nissa's relief without looking.
Finally, it was Passions turn and Nissa's adorable Vulpix strode out with an aura of self-confidence that was almost as impressive as the Glaceons. Her fur was incredible, a crimson red that had been brushed and styled to perfection. There couldn't have been a single hair or tuft out of place. A thick, black silky bow wound itself around her neck and a second was stuck to her ear like a rosette.
She danced a few steps forward and took a bow before the audience, her tails, flittering behind her like a one-Pokémon Mexican wave. "Vulpix Vul." She said calmly before taking two steps back. There was a pause, a rush of drums and she started to move. Her motions were elegant in the extreme and with a small and sudden raise of her head the room seems to glow with beams of warm, embracing light, emanating throughout the arena. Every time Ryan had watched them practice they had always opened with sunny day. The Audience seemed enraptured, so the strategy seemed like a successful one.
The adorable fox followed up with a series of precise, stylish motions, blasting out waves of flamethrower across the surface of the stage. Each explosion of fire was accompanied with excited oohs and ahhs from the audience as if they were watching some kind of elaborate firework display. As Passion moved, she shifted through a series of delicate dance like steps, punctuating the movements with careful blasts of fire. Finally, she performed a clever little dash to position herself centrally to the stage. Launching herself into the air, she initiated a flame spin at the apex of the jump, landing within a dazzling cyclone of fire that corkscrewed around her.
The audience cheered loudly and applause thundered around the room. Passion actually seemed to shy back a little from the attention, losing a little of the grace and poise she has so effortlessly demonstrated. Nissa's face was awash with joy and pride as she gazed lovingly upon her scarlet Pokémon. The score was announced as 9.5 and Ryan wasn't sure whether he or Nissa cheered louder.
Passion began to step down from the stage as the applause began to subside. Nissa's face was a picture of joy and to Ryan's delight, she turned and moved in to hug Ryan, a motion that Ryan enthusiastically returned! Unfortunately, a sudden sound of concern from the crowd caused Nissa to look back to the stage and Ryan stumbled in a rather embarrassing way. He turned to see what she was looking at, playing with his sleeve, a slight heat in his cheeks the only evidence of his aborted embrace.
The audience were huddling over the barriers at the front and Ryan had to stand on his tiptoes to try and see what was happening. Passion was standing on one of the light ridged steps leading down from the stage, looking a little distressed. As he watched, she took a step and winced, almost collapsing on to her front paws. The Vulpix whined slightly and sat back on her haunches as concerned noises drifted from a muted crowd.
The music dimmed significantly to make way for the announcer. "Please quiet down folks, our excellent competitor Passion seems to have a made a misstep on the stairs. Can her trainer Nissa please make her way to the stage."
Nissa, grey faced, moved quickly to the aisle and rushed down towards the stage. Ryan stood uncomfortably and moved over himself to the aisle edge. Nissa collected up the little fox cradling it in her arms, making a series of calming noises. The audience burst into applause as Nissa made her way back up the stairs.
"We will take a 5 minute break before continuing folks" boomed the announcer "We still have many fantastic competitors to come, so please, try and contain your excitement as we get things ready!"
Ryan glanced back to the Absol "I think we are probably going to be leaving Chaos" The sleek ball of fluff looked up at him, tilted his head and announced a lazy "Absol." He climbed to his feet and padded up behind Ryan as Nissa approached.
"Is...is she okay?" Ryan asked, genuinely concerned. Passion seemed to be almost slumbering in her arms, cradled delicately, held tightly against Nissa's soft bosom.
Nissa looked up with a pained, almost tired expression "She's twisted her ankle...It's not serious but" she bit her lip and scratched Passions vulpine ear "I...don't think she will be able to take part in the next round"
Passion shifted slightly in her arms and licked her hand "Vul...Vulpix, Vul" to Ryan's surprise she didn't seem that distressed but perhaps that was because her ankle was being supported. He supposed it was one of those injuries that only really bothered you when you had to aggravate it.
Nissa scratched her head gently while speaking in a soothing tone that couldn't entirely hide her concern "I am sorry Passion. We will go to the pokecentre, perhaps they can do something to help" she shifted her grip to hold her in one arm while reaching down to her side with the other. A sudden, explosion of red light announced the activation of Passions pokeball and the little fox vanished, converted into energy and pulled within the orb.
She spent a moment to smooth down her dress and then took a number of deep breaths to help her calm down. She looked up at Ryan, her hands balled slightly, her face an almost comical exaggeration of determination "I am going to the pokecentre, do you want to come?...I understand if you want to watch the end of the competition"
"Of course I want to come" blurted out Ryan "I want to make sure Passion is okay"
Nissa nodded sharply and the pair left the thumping music behind.
Ryan always liked pokecentre's. Hospitals were a place of the sick and dying but pokecentres tended to have a very different atmosphere. That wasn't to say of course that sometimes a pokecentre didn't have that kind of vibe, badly injured pokemon were brought in fairly regularly and there would be moments where the atmosphere would understandably sour but the fact that a badly injured pokemon could be transported in a pokeball, typically meant you didn't have that mess of blood and stomach churning injury on show you did in a hospital.
Secondly, the level of care at pokecentres meant that injuries were rarely terminal. Ryan often wondered why the miraculous medical techniques offered in the centres could not be adapted for Humanity but he was not a scientist and so he could only speculate as to the complexities behind such technology.
As he watched Nissa approach the counter, he hung back with Chaos and considered the third reason he liked pokecenters. They were not just places of care, they were very much community centres and the place was filled with people and Pokémon meeting, talking and laughing. Ryan felt a stab of envy as he glanced around the room and sighed "I should probably get a Pokémon, what do you think Chaos?"
The Absol looked up at him and made what could be best described as a shrug "Ab"
Ryan gave a small laugh "You don't care huh? I guess you are happy enough with Passion, you two make quite the cute, if unmatched pair"
Absol settled back down on to his haunches not replying. Ryan almost giggled "Nissa should really enter you into the cool contest, you always seem so chilled."
His conversation with the unresponsive Absol was ended by Nissa's approach. Her face was turned down slightly and there was a depressed, resigned look to her face. Ryan didn't say anything, he just looked at her with a soft, supportive smile and waited for her to speak.
"They said she will be fine" she began, the 'but', telegraphed clearly in her tone "but they won't cure her in the machine. There is a shortage of some element needed and so they are restricting its use on minor injuries" she looked up and rubbed her eyes "There is...there is no way it will be healed in three days"
"I'm so sorry" said Ryan, genuinely disappointed. He was sad because Nissa was sad but he was also disappointed for Passion. She was always such an energetic creature and she really was very pretty. It was hard not feel affection for such a critter.
Nissa gave a brave smile that contrasted with the water in her eyes "There is always next year isn't there? They said the ankle will take two to three weeks to recover and then we can get straight back to training!"
It looked like she was about to say something else but paused and pulled her phone from her pocket as it played a small notification tone. She tapped the screen a few times and seemed to freeze. Water began to pool in her eyes and she rubbed them with one hand. The mixture of pride and sadness in her voice tugged at Ryan's heart strings and he could feel his own emotions start to rise. "S...She came second" she had to pause biting her lip, her body physically shaking "T...The Glaceon won but...but we qualified for the tour"
She shifted slightly, obviously finding it hard to speak "I...I'm sorry Ryan. I need to go home" she took a couple of deep breaths and tried to give a reassuring smile "I am okay...next year. Next..."
Chaos pushed up against her supportively "Ab...Absol" he said quietly and she started to cry. It seemed like she was going to try and say something else but instead left quickly. Chaos following behind like he was her honour guard.
Ryan looked at the ground, feeling pretty awful himself. He felt bad for Nissa and Passion but part of him also felt bad for opportunities missed. This had been a chance to get closer to Nissa which was something he had really been looking forward to. He had joked about asking her out for a date, and realistically, he probably wouldn't have done it but any opportunity, no matter how slim, was gone now. He briefly pondered if that made him a bad person. Nissa's dreams had been dashed and part of him was bothered at the loss of his own opportunities.
He took another glance around the pokecentre and started his walk home. His mind was occupied by Nissa and Passion most of the way. He wished there was something he could do to help but it was difficult to see what could be done. He considered whether perhaps he could take the fox to another pokecentre but Ebon Town was kind of remote. There were a couple nearby small towns and a pokecentre up by Gloomshadow woods but if there was a shortage at one, it was almost certain that there was a shortage throughout the area. Additionally, travel even within the local area could be dangerous for non-trainers. Gloomshadow was a little safer with mostly weaker Pokémon but it was also the smallest centre, which Ryan knew got its supplies from Ebon Town.
He had to pause suddenly as he almost walked into a signpost. He gave a cheesy, embarrassed smile while running his fingers through his hair. He glanced around to check if anyone had noticed his folly and gave a small sigh. There was no one around - in fact, he realised, he had wandered completely the wrong way.
He looked up at the sign and bit his lip "Gloomshadow Woods =>" he had been so lost in thought, he had just wandered this way without thinking. The Woods were large and sprawling with a pokecentre at its entrance and a series of path ways covering much of its edges. Pokemon were common here but generally mild in nature. It made the area popular with both hikers and new pokemon trainers.
Gloomshadow woods also had a rather mystical reputation. Fanciful reports of powerful and mysterious Pokémon deep in the woods regularly swept through the town, drawing the occasional potent trainers to its depths. Other, more mysterious tales were also common, various supernatural and spooky goings on drew its own crowd. Hexmanics and psychics often came to meditate and investigate, though, as far as Ryan was aware, nothing concrete had ever actually been found.
He was about to turn for home, a note of irritation rising in his mind at the added travel when he stopped. He glanced up at the sun which was still high in the sky. It was just an hour or so past lunchtime, perhaps a walk in the woods would do him good and perhaps he might think of something as he went.
The branches of Gloomshadow woods cast blessed shadows upon the ground, helping to subdue the potent warmth from the afternoon sun. Ryan tried to put the dreadful situation from his mind simply trying to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the pleasant, muted sun. He took in his surroundings, trying to pick out Pokémon hiding in the trees, within the first hour he saw a variety of flying Pokémon and a whole hoard of bugs.
The paths were well marked and maintained by a variety of dedicated Pokémon rangers but the woods were large and for the most part it only took around ninety minutes to pass through the well maintained edges into the older, less maintained walkways. His stomach rumbled slightly and he wondered whether he should turn back but honestly, he didn't feel like going home yet. He had never been so far into the forest, usually choosing a route which ran alongside the woods edges but today it seemed, he was venturing deep.
As he walked, he spotted a Girafarig in the distance and blinked. He had never seen one before and did not know they were native to the woods. The twin faces stared at him for a moment and disappeared with a burst of speed into the plush woodlands; perhaps tales of more powerful Pokémon deeper into the woods were not entirely untrue. His curiosity piqued, he continued to range down the path. It wasn't badly maintained, its tough, caked earth had probably been resurfaced within the last year but the occasional sprouting of weeds breaking through its surface and the plants slowly claiming its edges, suggested this path was probably only maintained once or twice a year, instead of weekly like the outer paths.
Still, even without regular maintenance the path was clear and easy to see. This wasn't some kind of crazy wilderness and there was no real danger of getting lost. Suddenly, he noticed something surprising in the plush undergrowth of the deep forest. A path was leading off from the main walkway to the right, so overgrown that he had missed it until he was almost standing on top of it. A flood of wildflowers seemed to flow across its overgrown length, an explosion of vibrant colour that seemed strangely limited to the region of the almost lost path. Without this strange, natural feature, it is likely he would have not been able to pick out more than the first few meters of the forgotten track but with the flora showing the way, its route was marked out just as clearly as if the flagstones were still visible and polished.
Ryan was visibly quivering. It was like every muscle in his body had contracted and didn't want him to move. He had heard about this path, it was one of those superstitious rumours, a tale for children and tourists.
' A path of flowers will lead to your heart's desire'
The rumour said that if you followed the path, the goddess would listen to your petition and grant your wish. What goddess the legend referred to, never seemed to be clarified, it was a stupid legend, seriously lacking in context but...It couldn't be true, could it?
It took him several moments to calm down enough to move but once he did, he began to take shuddering step, after shuddering step towards the path. It was like he was a man possessed, starting to slowly stride forward, doing his best not to harm the wildflowers that dotted the way. After a few minutes, he settled down a little, moving into a more natural stride, though, still trying to avoid harming the flora.
All sorts of crazy ideas were running through his head, though, he was trying to keep himself grounded. He didn't really believe that there was such a thing as a wish granting goddess, though, with the incredible variety of Pokémon that existed and the awesome abilities exhibited by some of them, it made it hard to completely rule anything out. He continued to move through the woods, unable to see the main path any longer. That made him nervous but the stretching line of wild flowers did stand out from the verdant, green, arboreal undergrowth and so he wasn't too concerned, confident he could make his way back as long as there was enough light to see his botanical guideposts.
He glanced up as he attempted to judge the time from the position of the sun. There had to be at least three or four more hours of sunlight left, so as long as he didn't spend more than an hour traveling on this path, he should be able to get back to the forest walkway before dark, not that traveling through more established paths at night was particularly appealing but perhaps it would be worth it to investigate this unusual feature.
He was starting to get really quite hungry as the forest gave way to a small clearing. Tall, vibrant grass flowed like an olive sea before him, moving with the wind like waves, breaking on an arboreal shore. Tall, wild flowers dotted the leafy oasis, giving it an almost surreal feeling, like an artist's painting that had come to life. A fantasy meadow too vibrant to exist in real life.
If that was not enough to dispel his hunger, the forgotten statue at the centre of the clearing was. This, it would seem, was the goddess. The figure was a vaguely angelic humanoid with heavy, feathered wings, though, the statue had suffered significant erosion from unknown years in the meadow. As Ryan pushed his way towards the statue he couldn't help but contemplate how long this figure must have been sitting here. It was clear that at one point the angel was finely featured but the surface had been scoured smooth by unknown decades, perhaps even centuries of weather.
The overgrown meadow proved energy sapping and by the time he reached the statue he was breathing heavily. He leaned against the stone, spending a moment in the lengthening shadow of the figure. He wiped sweat from his brow as he glanced up towards the sky. Ryan bit his lip in a moment of concern, looking around the meadow. The sun had moved significantly towards the horizon and the long grass of the clearing was starting to take on a sinister cast bathed in the evening light. He had perhaps only a few more hours before dark and from where he was standing, he was not even entirely sure where he had broken through the trees.
He gulped slightly and looked back to the statue. He would examine it for a few moments and head home. As long as he could find his way back to the main path, overgrown or not, he would be okay. It was true that there was still some danger on the main walkways from nocturnal Pokémon at night but at least he could not get lost.
He sighed slightly and felt annoyed at himself for getting carried away "You are here now, it's going to be fine" A moment later he pushed right up to the statue, clearing the grass away from the front of the plinth. It was clear at some point there was some kind of inscription, a message and perhaps some fanciful stonework to frame it, but now, it was faded and lost to time. Who knows what it might have said.
He placed his hands together and bowed his head in silent prayer. It was not that he was religious or anything, he just thought it was sad that this statue that had clearly meant something at some point was lost and forgotten, the work of a master left to decay, deep in a forest that no one visited. Rather than a prayer, it represented a mark of respect and sorrow.
He gave the figure a slightly sad smile and started to wipe his hands on his dress shirt. He had bought it for his 'date' but the long grass had left its marks and he was covered in burrs, little leaves and damp marks from pushing past the grass. He spent a moment running his hands down the surface, trying to clear it, before realising he was just going to be pushing back through anyway. He took a step and paused, glancing back at the statue. The legend...It was why he had come here after all, could it do any harm?
He bowed his head again and closed his eyes "To the forgotten angel, please hear me" his words felt foolish but there was no one around to observe his fancy "I wish I could help my friend Nissa win the Pokémon contest. It really matters to her and all she wants to do is complete...even if you could just make it so she could take part, I think that would be enough" his hands were tightened into fists as he bit his lip hard enough to almost draw blood "It's not such a bad wish, it would make three people happy...Nissa, Myself and her Vulpix Passion...is that enough to turn a selfish wish good?"
He opened his eyes looking down. Why did he feel so sad? So morose? He wiped his eyes with his sleeve and almost immediately regretted it as he trapped a small, sticky piece of plant into his eye "Ah, Damn...ugh" he managed to clear it out but it left his eye watering "...Figures." He glanced back at the statue and sighed "...Good bye"
He began to push back through the grass towards the point he had entered the meadow. He was not entirely sure where it was but even just based on the facing of the statue he had a pretty good idea which way to go. It was hard not to regret his choice to follow the path as real fatigue was starting to set in. Much of the grass was waist height and it really was draining to push through it. It didn't help that his clothing seemed to pick up hidden pockets of water as he went and a sense of regret was really starting to set in.
"Floette!" came a high pitched, soft voice as one of the wild flowers suddenly spun up into the air like a helicopter. A tiny Pokémon was holding on to the stock drifting into the air. Its face was smiling and it chittered happily.
"Oh" said Ryan "Aren't you a cute one! I don't think I've seen a Floette before" the friendly expression on its face seemed to give Ryan some strength. It didn't look threatening, so he wasn't too worried about being attacked.
"Floette!" came another voice from behind him as another of the tiny creatures appeared, this one riding a flower of a different colour. "Flo!" "Ette et!" "Floette" the tiny creatures voices were joined in chorus as the meadows flowers exploded into the air one by one in an outrageous cascade of colour, a swirling chaos of reds, yellows and blues that reminded Ryan of paint mixing in a bucket.
His face was one of absolute joy, he found himself turning, watching, as the tiny Pokémon filled his vision, each calling in their soft, sweet voice, each beginning to glow.
Wait, what?
Ryan took a step back in shock. What was going on? There had to be hundreds of the creatures and each one seemed to be glowing with a powerful white light. It was so potent that the world seemed darker in contrast...no, the world was getting darker, everything seemed to be fading out to black. He stumbled and fell on his ass. He couldn't see, the grass was still there, he could feel it but the world was an inky black. He could almost imagine he had gone blind if it wasn't for the floating, glowing Pokémon that still moved, chittering through the darkness.
Purple clouds started to waft through the void and golden stars began to scream through the sky. They stretched as far as the eye could see and the stars raced to destinations unknown. It faded out almost as soon as it began and the world returned to view but the memory remained like a brand upon his consciousness. The Floette were still floating around, chirping happily and drifting through the meadow. What had just happened?
Ryan scrambled to his feet from where he had fallen in the grass and started to stumble towards the clearings edge. He was absolutely covered head to toe in the detritus of the meadow but he couldn't think about that just now. The spectacle he had observed had been incredible and part of him was still in awe but another part of him was frightened. He regretted once again his decision not to become a trainer. With the correct training and experience, perhaps he might have understood what had just happened there but as things stood, he really had no idea.
He reached the edge of the forest in total panic, where was the path? The light was starting to fail and the tiny Floette were still mobbing around him. In his mind, their cute calls had gained a sinister edge and it was making it hard to concentrate. He just wanted to get home, get to bed and pretend none of this had happened, well, at least until enough time had passed to turn it into an exciting anecdote.
It took several minutes of searching along the treeline before he found the line of wild flowers "T...Thank god" he moaned, tears in his eyes and he immediately pushed into it. With a whoosh! The pathway of flowers exploded into the air, more Floette joining the swarm that was swirling around him. He watched in pure despair as the pathway literally floated away, dissolving before him "You can't be serious...no...NO!" After a moments desperate pause, he started to stumble in the direction the path had been.
"It's... It's okay" he reassured himself, trying to ignore the Floette. "There were a few turns but...but if I keep walking, I have to hit a path and then...and then I'll find my way out"
He pushed forward as hard as he could but it was difficult. Initally, he tried to follow the remnants of the path the Floette had been lining, but that soon proved impossible, the path was completely gone in a lot of places and where it still existed, it was becoming harder and harder to make out the signs in the advancing darkness.
Suddenly, he fell and landed heavily with a cry. He glanced back rubbing an elbow to curse the tree root that had rudely assaulted him. There was no tree root though, just a shoe that had escaped his foot. He grabbed it quickly and went to do up the shoelaces, furious at himself that he had let this happen; if it had been a mud pool or something, he could have lost the shoe permanently, which would have been just terrible. Thing is, the laces were tied...
His eyes widened "Wait...What the hell?" the shoe was loose on his foot, as if it was two sizes too large. The other one was the same and he felt a moment of almost total confusion. This made no sense. Was this a dream? Had he fallen and hit his head somewhere? Could he be lying unconscious in the woods? He shook his head, he had no time for such fantasies and pushed on as best he could with his loose shoes.
The Floette joined him on the journey, a colourful cloud of squeaking pests that just helped to keep him on edge. He had been pushing hard for 15 minutes or so when he came to the conclusion that he just had no idea where he was. It was getting harder to see and his shoes were flapping on his feet in a way that was making walking more and more dangerous. He had heard the distant hoots of Noctowls and the screeches of Zubats. He stopped panting, perhaps he should curl up next to a tree and hope for the best, continue in the morning.
He bit his lip and looked across the swarm of Floette. They were still glowing softly, causing the creatures to still be clearly visible against the deepening darkness. He grumbled to himself as he observed the scene "You could have at least provided enough light for me to continue if you were going to do this" The Floette chittered. They drifted, and then Ryans trousers fell down.
He looked down in shock and reached to pull them back up but the sleeves of his shirt fell over his hands. He looked back up at the Floette, a sense of dread descending over him "Are...are you doing this?" he asked "A...Are you shrinking me? Am I getting smaller?" he quickly examined himself and it genuinely did seem to be the case...he was actually shrinking.
He looked up at the swarm and rang his hands, an action that made him look like a child dressed in his fathers clothes "P...Please stop" he whined "I'm sorry I disturbed your meadow, I will go home and never come back! I promise! I won't even set foot in the Gloomshadow Woods again"
The creatures ignored his pleas and just continued there swarming and chittering. They didn't seem angry, if anything, the little fairies seemed happy, they weren't being aggressive, they were just floating around him, calling out "Floette!" "Floette!" "Floette!"
Ryan was so confused and he was starting to feel very strange. He was pretty sure it was a mixture of hunger and terror at the ongoing situation but there seemed to be more to it than that. Little aches and pains, pulls and itches, were developing all over him. It was a bit like when you did too much exercise before you were ready and the next day nothing quite worked properly. That didn't really explain it but it was the best he could do.
He reached up to scratch his ear which was feeling particularly itchy and felt...fur? "What!" he exclaimed and suddenly took tight hold of it, trying to examine it with his fingers. His ear had stretched out slightly, taking on a more pointed shape. A dusting of fur seemed to be spreading slowly over it and a quick check revealed the same thing was happening to his other ear. He could almost feel them slowly distort under his touch, stretch, shift and plush beneath his fingers. To make things even stranger, they seemed to be moving, slowly sliding up the side of his skull.
"this...is impossible" he said with shock "What...what are you doing, please stop!" the voices of the Pokémon drifted through the night like wind through trees, almost as if he had set off a wave of conversation that was spreading throughout the group.
He shifted slightly and once again his trousers collapsed to the ground. He looked down, it was hard to say just how small he was but there was no point pulling them up again. There was probably little point in wearing his shoes either and he chose to step out of both. He looked around in the dark trying to judge his new size but it was impossible. There was almost no reference points and the twilight of the evening barely penetrated the branches of the trees.
Little, subtle changes to his bone structure as well as alterations to his muscles and tendons were starting to cause his stance to become a little more uncomfortable. He didn't really understand what was going on but he was feeling unsteady on his feet and found himself leaning against a tree to keep himself upright. His ears had continued to shift but now, new patches of fur were breaking out like a rash across his form. He groaned in complaint at each new discovery, protesting to no one in particular. The russet brown fur was beginning to slowly coat his form, spreading out from the initial patches like a growing stain.
He ran his hand across the plush, burnished-red fluff and blinked. It was soft. Really soft. It was not that he had expect it to be rough but fur didn't get like this unless it was really well looked after, shampooed and conditioned, brushed and styled. This was sort of like Passions fur and not what you would find on a wild or even a typical trainer's Pokémon. He looked up at the Floette and with a pained voice asked "Why...why are you doing this to me?"
They didn't answer, they just continued to swarm, though, they did seem to have some interest in Ryan's transformation. He had no choice but to discard his shirt at this point, he had gotten even smaller and it was just getting in the way. The dull red fur was getting brighter, taking on the colour of flame, with the exception of his arms and chest which had turned to a pleasant warm brown and a pure, creamy white respectively. The colouring very much reminded him of Passion and he was struck by a moment of clarity "A...Am I turning into a Vulpix?" he asked in shock, noting that the pitch of his voice seemed to have climbed several tones.
Again, they didn't answer and so he looked over his still shifting form. His fingers seemed to be getting stiff, as were his shoulders. He tried to consider what other Pokémon wer coloured like this but his mind was drawing a blank. He checked his ears again and they were now large and triangular sitting atop his head. He found he could move and angle them, bring them closer to his head or push them away. For a moment it was all he did, despite everything, there was just something fascinating about having full control of these ears. They picked up sound much better than his old ones, the secret sounds of the forest laid bare before him. His hair had also plushed up, though, it had migrated to cover only the space between his ears. A small, if fluffy fringe sat at the front while he could feel the hair at the back gathering, curling into that trademark Vulpix 'do'. He couldn't see, but strongly suspected that it had shifted to a vibrant red.
His body seemed to be sliming, not just getting smaller and his hands were getting stiffer and stiffer. As he looked at them, the fingers seemed a little shorter and he was having trouble pulling them apart. Little pink splotches, pads, seemed to be swelling like a bruise from beneath the plush fur. He looked up at the Floette "I knew it" he said with resignation "You are turning me into a Vulpix, Vul, Vulpix?"
His eyes shot wide and he slapped his 'hands' over his mouth "Oh god...it's true" He bit his lip to try and control his emotions "Why! Please Vul, Vulpix!"
"Floette?...Flo, make the wish, Ette?"
Ryan felt tears welling in his eyes as his hands completed their transformation into paws. His torso seemed to be bulking up in length while his limbs in general were getting shorter bit by bit. He was finding it harder to speak, his voice modulating and repitching towards a higher register. He didn't quite sound like a Vulpix yet but he wasn't far away and the fact that some of the words he tried to say came out as "Vulpix", was...well...terrifying.
Wait... Had he understood some of what the Floette were saying?
He could feel a tight itch and a sense of constriction from his nose as he fell forward on to all fours. He probably could have resisted it a little longer but there didn't seem much point, his thighs clearly didn't want to be on 2 legs any longer and Ryan collapsed, landing on his new hand paws, before pushing back onto his haunches. He quickly realised that his legs had been largely going through the same process, his feet changed into paws and his ankles lengthened into a more animalistic shape.
He looked up at the mob of Floette "W...What did you Vulpix?" he groaned slightly and tried again "Vulpix, Vul, Vulpix?"
His final attempt had lost all traces of humanity, he sounded exactly like any other Vulpix and yet, somehow he understood there was a meaning to his 'words'. He knew that all he had said was the word Vulpix in a variety of configurations but at the same time, in his head, he heard "What did you say?"
It was hard to tell which Floette responded but the voices seemed to float out from within the crowd "We granted its wish. Why is it complaining?"
Another voice responded "It is Human, It cannot be expected to understand"
Another "Its wish has been granted, it need not understand"
"What" said a confused Ryan, still feeling a shifting and pulling to his nose "W...Wish?"
Ryan's face was beginning to push out now into a short muzzle in what might have been the weirdest experience of the entire transformation. This required everything to change, his muscles, the shape of his skull, even the position of his eyes. It stretched and pushed, pulled and pinched. His teeth were shifting, changing shape and position as his eyes moved slightly towards the front of his face. For a moment, everything was a blur, the world doubling up as his moving eyes went out of focus. If he could see himself, he would have realised just how large they had become, a watery pool of muddy brown that provided a perfect focal point to his pretty, vulpine face.
Soon, it was over and he opened and closed his jaw, moving it from side to side, testing its new configuration. His hair had finished bunching up into a series of curls, though, you could hardly tell in the dark. The rest of his body had mostly completed its changes but little pops and shifts were still occurring here and there and his body was still very gradually getting smaller. Most of the pain and discomfort had passed however and had faded to a sense of unfamiliarity. There was something else as well, something he couldn't quite put his finger on, as if there was another element of unfamiliarity he could not quite identify.
"Yes" came a voice from the mass "You wished to help your friend win the contest"
"Now you will be able to" came another
"We heard your wish and we have granted it"
"Not like this!" whined Ryan "I wanted you to heal Passions ankle or something" He was starting to feel strangely warm, like a flush of heat was running through him. It seemed to be in sync with an embarrassing warmth radiating from his crotch. Additionally, there was a pressure developing at his tail bone and he moved a little away from the tree on his unfamiliar paws to give his expected tails room to develop. Walking in this new form was...strange but not as difficult as he might have expected. It was like it had come parcelled with a set of natural instincts, as long as he didn't think too hard about it, they helped him with his movements.
"Passion is not here, a wish is not all powerful, there are rules" came the reply
"There must be a cost" added another
"This one does not want to be a Vulpix, perhaps that is cost enough?"
Ryan looked at them confused "What do you mean there must be a cost. I don't understand any of this" he was going to say more but the sudden explosion of tails from his ass sent him stumbling forward, head first into the leafy undergrowth. He moaned quietly from the plush blob of fur that he had become. One by one, like a set of party streamers, his curled tailed flowed out from his ass. Within moments, he was the 'proud' new owner of 6 plush tails.
"You thought a wish would not have a cost?" came an incredulous voice
"The universe demands some degree of balance, you can't have your desire without paying a cost"
"This one knows nothing, some Humans cannot be helped."
Ryan was still feeling hot, his crotch was hot, his cock was tight and erect and he groaned, lying upon the ground "P...please, this is a huge mistake" he moaned "This isn't what I wanted" his cock seemed to shrink beneath him and a new surge of panic flooded through him. to his complete and utter embarrassment, he felt significant waves of arousal from his shrinking member and he released a loud Vulpine moan "A...a girl?...N...Noooo!....why?" he shifted on the ground panting and pushed himself back to his feet, almost backing his ass into the tree, trying to ignore the pulsing sensations pouring through him.
"Not what you wanted? You shouldn't have made the wish. Such a thing cannot be stopped once it has been started" came a confused voice.
There was a pause and then a patient voice spoke up in soothing tones, as if explaining something simple to someone who really should understand "You are a replacement for Passion, of course you will need to be a girl"
A much more impatient voice cut in immediately "We are getting off topic, the cost must be chosen"
Ryan groaned and pushed his ass up against the tree. The sensation of his diminishing cock was maddening. It was sending powerful, erotic sensations throughout his tiny, fluffy body and he couldn't help but release little barks of pleasure, stolen against his will from his lips. An opening, small at first, was forming beneath his tiny cock. It sent firebursts of heat throughout him as it plumped, growing larger. His cock got smaller and smaller until it nestled into a tiny nub at the top of her new vulpine pussy and she cried out in arousal "Vul....Vuuuulpix!" she collapsed into a bundle of panting fur, drooling and twitching in a pile. Despite the waves of intense pleasure and continuing arousal, one thought was forefront to her mind "How did this happen?"
The Floette swirled around her in a vortex of maddening colours.
"Are you sure she does not want this, she seems to enjoy this form"
"Enough, the payment"
"Perhaps a condition? She must win the contest that seems so central to all of this?"
"Yes, that is it, that will be the condition"
"Very Well, if you win the contest you will be returned to normal"
"But if you fail, you will remain a Vulpix forever"
"What if someone uses a firestone?"
"...A Vulpix or a Ninetails forever, not that it matters. Thanks for that interruption"
"The words of the condition are important"
The world seemed to fade slightly as the Floette argued. The conversation continuing as the fatigue of the day finally won and sweet oblivion overtook Ryan. Soon, she was deep in sleep.
"Ryan" came a voice "Ryan!"
Ryan shifted slightly from where she slumbered. The Early Morning sun had broken through the thick branches of Gloomshadow woods and she smiled, unconsciously in response to its gentle warmth.
"Ryan!"
Her eyes shot open. That was Nissa... Wait, she was lying on the ground outside? In the middle of the woods? Oh...oh god, that...that couldn't have been real, could it?
She jumped up and quickly confirmed her new status. It was almost like she ran through the emotional roller-coaster of the previous night once again but in the end, all she could do was release a slightly distressed "Vuuulpix!"
"Was that a Vulpix?" came Nissa's voice, tinged with surprise "There aren't any Vulpix in Gloomshadow woods...Maybe it was a trainer. Hey! Hey! Is someone there? Please help us, our friend is missing"
Ryan struggled to her feet and padded across the forest floor towards the voice. After a few moments she paused and realised how naturally she was moving. She tried a little jump, first low and then higher, this time twirling in the air and landing gracefully upon her new paws "No way. How can I do this?"
That was definitely a Vulpix came Nissa's voice, this time closer "I think it was over this way?"
Ryan paused and bit his lip slightly. Maybe Nissa could help him somehow...even if she couldn't, a familiar face would be more than welcome and she dashed off once again. It took only a couple of minutes before she burst from the forest edge into the hard packed earth walkway.
A look of shock graced Nissa's face as her eyes fell upon her and she reached to her side to check her pokeballs "She...She looks almost exactly like Passion"
She was with another one of their friends, a guy called Frank and he seemed similarly surprised "Yeah...they could be sisters, twins even. Where did you get passion from again? Perhaps they have the same parents"
"I had to have her imported from Garet City, her egg was in a shipping container for weeks...It seems almost impossible. It could just be coincidence?"
"Hey it's me" said Ryan nervously, scratching at the ground with embarrassment "I don't...really understand what has...oh...I am just making Pokémon noises to you, aren't I?"
"She seems quite tame huh? Are you trying to tell us something little one?" asked Nissa
"Uhm" asked Frank "Could this be the solution to your problems? If you could train her in the next couple of day's maybe you could enter her instead of passion and if you somehow managed to win, then Passion would be healthy again for the next round?"
Nissa looked towards Frank biting her lip "Passion has been practicing for months, there is no way we could do it in three days..." she glanced back at Ryan "But...ugh...Maybe I should try, what's the worst thing that happens, I pull out anyway?"
Frank nodded "And worst case scenario, Vulpix are rare around here." He gave a small grin "2v2 battling with a pair of Vulpix sounds fun"
Nissa paused and a look of determination came over her face, honestly, Ryan was starting to get nervous and she wasn't sure what to do, she felt a bit like a Stantler in the headlights. Nissa pulled a pokeball from the side of her bag. "Chaos, I choose you!" she threw out the pokeball and an explosion of red light formed into the familiar black and white furred Pokémon.
Ryan took a half step back in absolute shock. This is _not_what she had expected and from down here, Chaos seemed absolutely huge, towering above her like some kind of colossal monster
"What now?" asked Chaos in his rumbling timbre. He looked back to Ryan and grinned "Oh Passion, your looking better...Wait. You're not Passion"
"Chaos use Night Slash!" called Nissa and Ryan scattered back several steps in panic.
"Wait Chaos...wait, don't hurt me. I'm Ryan! Ryan!"
Chaos just gave a lazy grin "Sorry, don't know how you know my name but, order is an order" Suddenly he was in Ryan's face. She had not even see him move. There was just this blur of black and white, and then red and pain. Streaks of violet sliced through the air as Ryan was sent tumbling backwards with a cry "Vuuuuuuuul" she landed in a heap, panting hard. Her vision blurred slightly as a dull pain like a full body bruise thrummed through her.
She looked up just in time to see that spinning red and white ball coming towards her. She tried to move but her fluffy body would not respond. The ball struck her and the world turned red. Her vision started to artefact like low quality video before dissolving into blackness.
When the world faded back into view a few seconds later it was very much like someone turning up the contrast on a TV screen. First, there was nothing, and then colours bled into the darkness until a leafy field formed around her.
She looked around with shock and pushed to her feet. She felt...fine. She was still a Vulpix but the injury Chaos had given her was gone. She examined her surrounding, trying to work out what was going on. Warm sun beat down upon well-tended grass as a mild breeze caused cattails to shift amongst the greenery. The meadow was dotted with wild flowers, though, not like the field in Gloomshadow woods, this one was well tended and just the right length for her little legs to easily move about in. To her right, was a large lake, sparkling crystal blue water reflecting the sunbeams from the sky. A series of little lakes and pools surrounded it on one side, steam rising, suggesting they were some kind of hot springs. To her left, was a small copse of trees sat upon a series of rocky outcroppings...what was this place?
Suddenly in the sky appeared a series of boxes like a computer overlay. Ryan gasped as she looked across the images that were forming 'Vulpix. Lvl 3. Nature : Gentle.' A bunch of attack and defence stats were listed below...were those _her_stats? What...what on earth. She could see that supposedly her moves were Flame spin , flamethrower, sunny day and energy ball. Were those the same moves Passion had? She thought that maybe they were.
Suddenly, text appeared in the sky : "Do you want to give your Pokémon a nickname"
As she watched, the yes option was selected and the Text "Vixie" seemed to be entered.
Vixie's eyes suddenly went huge. She couldn't remember her name, it was like it had just been deleted and replaced with Vixie. Any attempt to think about it returned her new designation. She looked around wildly before looking back to the sky. The boxes had faded and the summer's day had returned. She had just been renamed. Would the humiliation ever end?
Vixie was not sure how long she was left to explore her habitat. It wasn't infinite in size, perhaps a couple of miles from one side to the other. After spending a bit of time looking around she thought it might be terrain specially designed for a Vulpix. The hot springs were certainly delightful and she suspected the water was very hot but she was a fire Pokémon and as a result seemed to find the high temperatures very pleasing. She enjoyed just relaxing in the water and slumbered for some time, trying to consider what she should do next.
This went on for some time before a strange glow started to flood through her little world. She blinked and looked up. Her statistics appeared in the sky once again and as she watched, her HP bar filled from almost empty to full. The glow faded and she went back to relaxing in the hot spring. It was fascinating just how relaxing this intense heat was.
Perhaps another hour passed before anything much happened. In this time, Vixie discovered she could rather easily expel huge bursts of flame from her mouth, more than that, she discovered it made her feel even more relaxed. Now that she thought about it, she was sure that Nissa had told her that Vulpix needed to periodically release flame to stop themselves from overheating, there seemed little reason to assume she was not the same.
Suddenly, unexpectedly, the world faded to black and then, like a video clearing up, Vixie quickly found herself in a new place. She looked around in surprise and confusion, though, she quickly realised she was in Nissa's house, on the floor of her living room. Chaos and Passion were there too, staring at her, and Vixie found herself taking a little shuffle back.
"I'd like to introduce Vixie everyone! She is the newest member of our family" Nissa beamed down smiling at the little Vulpix and Vixie felt this huge flush of sensation and emotion. Her heart had always fluttered when she looked at Nissa but this was different, this was something more than that, like an instinctual understanding that this was her mistress...oh god, what had she gotten herself into.
"And Vixie" continued Nissa "This is Chaos and Passion!"
Passion took a few slow, careful steps towards her, moving with one paw held slightly in the air "You" she began "Look exactly like me" she tilted her head with a slight smile "How... unusual" there was something unfriendly about her smile that just heightened Vixie's nerves. Well, perhaps unfriendly was unfair, calculating? Considering? Plotting? Definitely not friendly though.
Absols grin was not much better, it felt like she was being weighed and measured "Not exactly Passion, but close enough." His expression turned rather lewd "I wonder if she tastes like you or squeals like you"
Vixies face went bright red, he didn't mean...he didn't, surely. "Uhm...Uhm...nice to meet you?" offered Vixie "I am Vixie"
"Our Mistress already said that" replied Passion "Perhaps this one is not so bright"
Vixie shifted back on to her haunches, her tails bouncing nervously behind her "I...uhm...sorry."
Chaos snorted and took a few steps towards her, causing her to shrink back slightly "She really does look like you Passion" he tilted his head slightly "You don't know her?"
Passion sniffed "No idea, As long as she remembers I was here first, I don't care if she wants to tag along and be my shadow" her smile widened "Besides, if I need to, any misunderstandings can easily be corrected"
`
Chaos looked back at her with a grin "Your shadow huh? I can think of a lot of fun things to do with two Passions"
Passion rolled her eyes "Don't you think of anything else? Maybe mistress will send you a daycare centre and you can fuck all the little sluts you want"
Chaos grinned back "Oh, I've got all the little sluts I need here" he looked towards a very nervous looking Vixy "Especially now"
Vixy glanced around, shifting from foot to foot "Ah...uhm...I'm not..." she shivered slightly "C...Cant we just be friends?"
Chaos snorted looking at Passion "Look at how timid she is." He looked back to Vixie with a rather predatory grin "I think we will have quite a lot of fun Vixie"
Nissa looked down with a big smile "Aww, look at you guys getting on so well together!" she paused for a few seconds and wrung her hands "I...uhm" she rubbed her head nervously "Passion" she began "I was thinking that, uhm, we could perhaps try and enter Vixie into the contest in your place. I know the chances of winning after just a couple of days training is virtually zero but...if we could manage it somehow, then we could switch you back in for the second round"
She lowered herself slowly to the floor and pulled Vixie and Passion into her lap. Vixie gave a small yelp as she was pulled up and squashed into the fluffy form of her doppleganger. It was the strangest mixture of pleasure and discomfort. Nissa's tender stroking felt, well, it felt amazing. Passions warm, fluffy body squashed up against her side felt pretty great too. The problem was that she didn't really know how Passion felt about her, she had seemed kind of contemptuous and being forcibly squashed up next to her, heightened her nerves even further.
"I'm going to need your help Passion...I know it would feel weird training someone to compete in your place but I promise, it's just while you are injured" Nissa paused slightly and scratched Vixie's ear with a small smile "I'm not going to discard you when we are done either Vixie, I might train you to battle or let you laze around at home with Chaos" she gave a small laugh "I know joining our family was a shock Vixie but trust me, you are going to have a great time"
Passion yawned from her perch and glanced sideways at Vixie, sporting an amused grin "You will make a poor copy. It's easy to look like someone, it's harder to be them and you are not me"
Vixie gulped "I uhm...I didn't say I was you Passion. You're so amazing on the stage, I could not hope to be that good"
Passion paused and frowned slightly "And how would you know that exactly?"
Vixie considered for a moment how to respond. Should she tell them that she was uhm...was...damn it, she couldn't remember her old name. Nissa had just said it earlier and it had gone from her mind allready. She bit her lip slightly "I mean...just look at you, you are so pretty and elegant! I don't need to see you on stage to know how good you are"
Passion snorted and glanced at Chaos "Perhaps we can keep her about. Timid isn't the word" she looked sideways, a grin splitting her face "Want to be our slave little one?"
Vixie did not get a chance to reply because Nissa spoke up, jostling the pair against each other "Of course Passion, I don't want you to push yourself. You need to let that foot of yours heal. Winning the competition isn't nearly as important as your health"
Vixie was shivering slightly under Nissa's careful touch. Nissa's Pokémon had always seemed a little standoffish, perhaps even arrogant but she had not imagined for a second that this is what they would behave like. Had Passion actually asked her if she wanted to be their slave? She looked to Passion and tried to give a smile "I...uhm...Do you think you can teach me with your injured foot?" She had to win. It had not been quite so obvious before this moment but after meeting Passion and Chaos, she had to win. If she didn't, then...oh god, she could hardly imagine what her future might be like if she was forced to remain Nissa's Pokémon.
Passion yawned slightly and shifted "My foot's fine. I hate those stupid contests, I faked the fall"
" WHAT!" shouted Vixie, causing Nissa to shift and start to scratch the base of her ears, trying to calm her down, despite herself, Vixie found an insidious relaxation start to creep through her body, god, Nissa knew exactly where to touch her and it felt so good.
Passion glanced at Vixie with a sense of irritation "what does it have to do with you?"
Vixie lay her head down and burbled. All this crazy stuff she was going through and Passion wasn't even hurt. What had she done? This was such a huge mistake.
"Your foot however, will be genuinely injured during training if you don't put in a good showing" sniffed Passion "I won't have some upstart little tart ruining my reputation, even if I don't want to actually do it"
Vixie looked up. She would train her, there was still a chance. She gave a sharp nod and responded nervously "Yes mam"
"No!" Passion declared with irritation "When you use Sunny day, you must be angled 30 degrees from the centre of the stage in order to highlight your fur in the most effective way"
Vixie panted. She had been put through her paces for almost four hours now as Passion ran her through section after section of her routine. Nissa had taken a break to get food and had left Passion in charge, who was taking advantage of not having to pretend to be injured. "I...sorry but it's so much to remember in just a few hours"
Chaos was sitting at the side-lines watching with a lazy, amused smile "Let her be Passion. If anything, I am amazed that she is moving as well as she is. She might not know how to use the moves effectively but she has your grace and poise somehow" his voice slipped a few notes gaining a slightly worrying undertone "You two are so alike, I can't wait to have some fun with you"
Passion glanced back at him with irritation "Shut up Chaos, I am nothing like this little kit." She paused and gave a small sigh "He is right though, your movements are unnaturally good. Are you really a wild Vulpix? What's your deal?"
Vixie glanced between them shivering. What was she meant to say? That a bunch of Floette granted her wish and turned her into a Vulpix. That they seemed to have granted her some of Passion's skills at the same time? They would laugh at her...more than they already do! No, the best she could do was try and ride this out, win, and then get her body back. After that, Fuck Passion, lying little vulpine git. Vixie was still annoyed to discover that she wasn't actually injured.
"Enough wasting time" said Passion "Do it again and this time do it right. We need to reserve plenty of time to practice the flame spin landing. It's not a simple move"
Vixie grumbled slightly and nodded "Yes mam" and took the position. It was strange, using the Pokémon abilities was easy. She just knew how to do it. There was an energy within her and she just knew how to shape and direct those energies to produce the desired effect. Things like flamethrower were incredibly simple, she just opened her mouth and the fire that was within her surged forth. Flame spin was a little harder, at least to keep the shape good and clean. An unstable flame spin was probably fine in battle but not in a beauty contest!
She wasn't using either of those moves though, she was using sunny day and as she stepped through the positions Passion had taught her, she closed her eyes and imagined the sun beating down upon the room, she imagined that the fire within her was the sun and that it was high in the sky. It required a little concentration but she knew how to do it and once again, she felt the heat of the sun explode above her, warming the room like a summer's day. This time she landed better and looked back to Passion with a big, beaming smile.
Passion didn't return it however, all she said was "Better. Do it again"
Vixie released a small sigh and nodded her head. She ran through the routine three more times, each time mostly correct until Passion seemed finally satisfied "Good" she said "Perhaps you will not drag my name through the mud after all"
Passion took a few steps forward into the middle of the room, throwing Vixie a hard look until she cleared the space and moved to sit next to Chaos "This" she said "Is my Flame spin dance, It took quite some time to get this down...enough time in fact that I am sick of doing it" the irritation in her voice was fairly palpable and neither Chaos or Vixie responded. Passion was quite the moody fire-type and Vixie had come to learn that there were times it was best to just keep silent.
She took a step forward and launched into the air, she arced high, landing on her front paws before turning and dashing in the opposite direction. She moved with grace and poise and while Vixie had seen it performed before, she had never seen it so close or from this perspective. After a series of careful and precise jumps, she sprung into the air and began to turn, initiating the flame spin. Fire formed into a perfect coil around her, a flawless spiral which reached the ground simultaneously with her delicate paws, a cage of flame with Passion at the centre.
Vixie couldn't help but slump back onto her haunches allowing her to clap with her front paws "That...that was amazing. You are so talented Passion, why do you not want to do this?"
Passion snorted "Just because you are good at something doesn't mean you want to do it. Why should I dance about, while a bunch of morons sit and cheer at me?" She tilted her head "How many of them really understand the routines? How many know the amount of work required to develop and practice these moves? Almost none of them! They cheer because it's colourful and exciting, not because they recognise the talent and effort that just demonstrated to their tiny minds." she sniffed slightly "Who wants to perform for those fools"
Vixie tried not to look embarrassed. She was pretty sure she was one of those fools. Honestly, she had never really considered the hours and effort required to prepare for one of those contests, even when Nissa and Passion had been going through it. She just enjoyed it because of how great all the Pokémon looked and how awesome all the routines were. She went there because it was entertaining...wasn't that enough?
"But...but a lot of people really enjoy watching the performances even if they don't realise what was involved...do you not enjoy the fact you are making all these strangers happy?"
Passion snorted and started laughing "A bunch of strangers? Who_cares_ if they are happy? Well, if you want to excite a bunch of strangers, feel free. It is after all you who will be performing this time, make all the strangers happy you want"
Vixie nodded slightly and wondered if she still didn't really understand. The wish seemed to have granted her all the abilities she needed without really having to practice. Well, not all of the skill perhaps but she certainly wasn't starting from scratch. Even her masculine origins were not a problem. Her body moved in a naturally feminine and graceful way without her trying at all. It seemed the wish had changed her in all sorts of ways "Anyway" said Passion "The Flame spin. We will need to work through the dance moves before you actually use the ability, so repeat after me" she paused "Normally, I'd say this would be impossible to perform, even clumsily, after just a couple of days but you seem to be a natural. I have never seen someone pick this up so quickly"
Over the next few days Nissa went out to search for Ryan two more times but something strange happened as time went on. People seemed to sort of forget about him as if it was a distant, fuzzy memory. On Nissa's second search, she almost seemed unsure exactly what she was looking for by the time she finished her circuit.
Vixie was not present for these searches and so she was not entirely aware of the way her previous existence seemed to be fading. She did, however, find the way that people seemed to mention her old self less and less to be rather unsettling. She had little time to dwell on it though, because for two days, Vixie and Passion spent hours running through the complicated routine. Vixie felt some satisfaction at her progress, though, Passion offered scant and sardonic compliments at best. Chaos was slightly kinder, through half the time, it was laced with poorly disguised commentary on how he wanted to fuck them, preferably at the same time. None the less, by the end of the second day, Passion reluctantly admitted that Vixie wasn't completely terrible. Not on her level but good enough not to embarrass herself in front of the crowd.
Vixie had to admit that this terrified her. Passion hadn't won her qualifier. There was a Pokémon who had defeated her for sure in the contest and it was likely that there were skilled Pokémon in attendance from other heats too. If Vixie wasn't as good as Passion, how was she going to progress to the next round and if she didn't beat the other competitors, then she was stuck as Vixie, she wouldn't turn back into ...whatshisname.
Passion sniffed in irritation "Ill admit it, you have picked this up faster than I thought possible, you might have true talent at this" she tilted her head slightly "But in the end, it was still only a couple of days, you have to be realistic about it."
Vixie nodded looking nervous "But...but if I don't win, you won't get to compete in the next round and Nissa will be disappointed"
"Nissa will get over it and I don't want to compete in the next round" growled Passion "Anyway, technically, you don't need to win. Its top four again"
Vixie paused with a gulp, would that be good enough? They said she had to win but if the top 4 went through, didn't that mean that the top 4 won? She shivered slightly and tears began to well at her eyes. She had to hope. She couldn't win, she was sure of that but top 4? It might be possible. She had to hang onto that.
"Are you crying?" asked Passion without a trace of Sympathy "It's your _first_contest. What is wrong with you? How the hell did you survive in the wild? You must be some breeders Pokémon that got lost in the woods right? I am surprised you didn't get eaten or worse" there was a tone of disgust to her voice "Vulpix may be considered a cute Pokémon, look, I know that, we all do, but fire burns within us" she grinned slightly "And anyone who takes us for less than we are will get burned. Knock it off, you're an embarrassment to our race"
Was...was that a pep talk? Vixie thought it might be. She nodded slightly and gave her a smile "T..Thanks Passion, I will try not to be an embarrassment"
"See that you are not" said Passion as if it was a command "Now, let's go find Nissa. I'm hungry"
For the rest of the day, Vixie practiced mostly by herself, trying to perfect the techniques that Passion had spent almost a year developing. There was something instinctual here, she had certainly been blessed with abilities and techniques she had not earned and yet, despite clear progress, she was not as good as Passion. Despite her hope of targeting fourth, her heart began to drop throughout the evening.
She was not quite sure what Passion was doing as she did not see her for the rest of the day. Chaos on the other hand, spent quite a bit of time watching Vixie practice. He rarely said anything but instead seemed to shift between expressions of thoughtfulness, lust and surprise. There was no doubt the fact that Vixie was so similar to Passion was quite a shock but he seemed fascinated at the possibility of suddenly having an unexpected twin to his preferred partner. It all made Vixie more than a little nervous and yet, the big Absol did tug at her in an uncomfertable way. Whenever she looked at him, a strange tingle ran through her form, a slight heat like a mild fever. He was handsome, that was certainly true. She had thought that when she was human and to her Pokémon eyes, his attractiveness had taken on a different quality...his personality though.
Vixie spent the night in her pokeball in that strange artificial paradise. She had to admit that it was a pleasant environment. She had come to love the hot springs that seemed to draw out all the stress of the day so effectively and the rest of the environment provided a significant variety of places to explore. As she closed her eyes to drift off for the night, she felt the world begin to fade in response to her mental state. "...Crunch time" she murmured as the light within the pokeball faded with her consciousness.
She was aroused the next day by being ejected unceremoniously from her pokeball into an unknown room. She looked around, still woozy, trying to ignore the sudden burst of anxiety triggered by the rude awakening.
"Oh...sorry Vixie, were you still asleep?" questioned Nissa's voice. Sure enough, that blurry shape resolved with a couple of blinks into the familiar shape of her mistress...uhm...Nissa. "Did you stay up late practicing?" she asked before bending down to scratch her ears "Ill love you no matter how you do, okay? Just have fun, don't worry about winning. Just take it easy out there"
Vixie shook her head and blinked her eyes another couple of times. Okay, now the world was fully in focus. This was one of the backrooms at the contest centre. She had never been here in here but she recognised the décor and the smell. Her vulpine nose was much more sensitive than her human one but it was able to pick up on things she had subconsciously stored before, detecting scents he had no idea he was picking up as a human.
Vixie looked up with a blank expression at Nissa. Don't worry about winning? She had no idea what was at stake! She could not afford to lose, this was not just about Nissa's entry into the second round. She had to win, or her human life was over. She grumbled to herself "Fun, huh..."
"I thought I told you to ditch that attitude" came an annoyed voice from behind her. She glanced back, it seemed that Passion and Chaos were already out of their pokeballs and lounging atop a series of cushions. Passion seemed to be making a lazy play at her injury which irritated Vixie significantly. If Passion had not faked that injury, this entire chain of events wouldn't have happened, and yet, she could not bring herself to complain about it. Her encounters with the intimidating pair had left her feeling meek before them and a couple of day's exposure, had not changed that. She knew who was ultimately in charge. They were both so confident that Vixie could not help but find it overwhelming.
After a moments pause, Vixie nodded slightly and sighed "I...need to try"
Passion rolled her eyes slightly "Well try, everyone tries, but at some point some Pokémon are just better than others, that's the difference between you and me" she paused for a second and tilted her head "Well...that's perhaps not entirely fair. You have...impressed me, but, you are not going to win." She sniffed slightly "Chaos finds your naivety attractive, it just pisses me off"
Chaos laughed "I find her sleek, fluffy body attractive. Who wouldn't? She looks just like you"
Nissa smiled widely at the group "Oh, how I wish I knew what you guys were talking about" she carefully sat down and lifted Vixie gently, pulling her into her lap "I bet they are both wishing you luck, aren't they"
Vixie gave her a sideways look and could almost imagine an anime-esque sweat drop at the side of her face "...Something like that" the other two Pokémon just laughed.
"Alright shh, calm down" Nissa soothed "We need to do some final preparations before the contest and remember, you are pretending to be Passion out there so try and get into that mind-set" she pulled out a small brush with a heavy steel handle and thick, plastic bristles. She began to run it through Vixie's fur, with heavy, but careful strokes.
Passion snorted slightly "Yes Passion, what mind-set would that be?"
Vixie shifted nervously, sporting one of those smiles you get when your brain has no idea what emotion to exhibit. She spent some time trying to format a response but ended up just lying on Nissa's lap, the heavy brush tugging at her fur while the pair laughed at her...oh god, she could not live like this forever.
Soon, her pampering was complete and her fur shone like spun rubies. Nissa was a marvel, Vixie had always though that the perfection displayed by Passion was a result of her being a superior specimen but clearly the effort and care put in by Nissa was a big part of her flawless look. Nissa wound a small band around her neck, fitting a plush, black bow and following it up with a rosette style ribbon on her ear. She took hold of Vixies sides and lifted her, holding her firmly in front of her face.
The pride displayed by Nissa was almost overwhelming. Vixie wanted to win, not just for herself, but also for Nissa. She wanted to see that look again, she wanted to make her mistress happy, to make her smile. Somehow, Vixie knew that this sensation wasn't entirely natural. Ever since Vixie had been captured by the pokeball, it had been influencing her thoughts in subtle ways and yet, she found it hard to care. It felt...right. Regardless, she had plenty of other reasons to want to win.
The announcement came out for the cool contest entrants to make their way to the stage "Not long now" smiled Nissa "Just have fun" She spent another 10 minutes or so making small adjustments and adding a flurry of sparkling glitter to her tails. They could hear the muffled sounds and thumping music from the ongoing contest from somewhere deeper in the building.
Finally, Nissa announced they were done, and together, they headed towards the stage. Passion and Chaos remained behind in the little dressing room while Vixie and Nissa moved to a small area reserved for competitors to watch from. There were a couple of other trainers and Pokémon here already, though their focus remained on the stage, Vixie seemed to be largely ignored.
Watching the second half of the cool contest did nothing to settle Vixie's nerves. The level of competition was dramatically higher than it had been during the qualifiers and a terror welled up in her about her chances of finishing top 4. Something else was different as well - she had a better idea of what was going on. Passion had been entirely correct in what she had said, before, she had not really understood what was happening beyond a sort of general 'That looks good' or 'wow, that looks difficult' now, she could recognise some of the specific techniques being employed and the way that certain motions and moves were being linked together. Vixie couldn't help but be awed by some of the actions on display and if she managed to return to her Human body, she sensed that this would be the beginning of an obsession.
The cool contest ended with an impressive Charizard being crowned first. His routine had been incredible, involving a series of powerful moves being released mid-air during a series of complicated and difficult aerial manoeuvres. To a Pokémon like Vixie, the stage was huge but to a Pokémon like Charizard, particularly one who was wanted to use the space above the stage, it was an incredible challenge to keep his moves sufficiently tight and precise. Vixie found herself clapping her paws enthusiastically alongside the audience.
Finally, the Beauty contest was called and the Pokémon took the stage one at a time. Vixie was scheduled to go fifth and her heart fell, once again, as she watched incredible display after incredible display. The Glaceon from her own qualifier went first and turned in a performance just is good, if not perhaps even slightly better. The following display was not quite as impressive but still earned a 9.3 from the judges. By the time it was her turn to perform, she was concerned that 1st, 2nd and 3rd place were already out of reach.
The announcer called Vixie to the stage and Nissa gave her some final words of encouragement "Just have fun V...Passion. Do your best, that's more than enough for me!"
The announcer started talking about Passions performance during the heat as Vixie climbed the light edged stairs, miraculously supressing the quiver that wanted to run through her legs "Now please welcome our fifth competitor in the Beauty contest" he enthused "Ebon City's very own Passion!" the crowd cheered and yelled words of encouragement. Vixie's improved hearing could pick out a variety of hoarse and strained voices that she would not have noticed before. The Beauty contest was the fourth of four and the audience's voices were beginning to show wear, though, their enthusiasm remained strong.
"Passion has been training all year under her fantastic trainer Nissa and she cannot wait to show you her moves. When you are ready, begin!"
Vixie froze and glanced around the crowd. Despite how long they had been watching, they were still smiling, still shouting. Vixie supposed she could understand Passions point about their lack of understanding but they had turned out to see them perform and they were all so enthusiastic, how could you resist that energy? How could you not want to widen the smiles of that happy crowd?
Vixie pushed her nerves and concerns to the side. For a moment, she even forgot about what was at stake and simply began to move. The energy and warmth of the crowd was intoxicating and as she danced from step to step, leaping into the air, through dive and dash, she almost felt like the energy of the crowd was a physical phenomenon, bearing her aloft. As she expelled fire in careful, precise arcs and bathed the contest-centre in warm, nourishing sunlight, she felt like it was their voices as much as her inner flame, that was invoking her power.
Vixie had not danced like this at any point during her training and each time her twirls caused her eyes to fall upon Nissa, the delight and pride that shone forth, carried her even higher. She lost herself in the movement, in the crowd, in the sheer joy of it. She couldn't have told you if she made any mistakes because she was the dance. Observing it, or analysing it, would have been impossible, that would require an observer from the outside and she and the dance were one.
She had expected to be nervous as she positioned herself for the final leap that would initiate the flame spin, the big finale to her act that Passion had spent so much time perfecting but she didn't even think about it, it was just part of the flow, part of the dance. She leapt, and the fire burst forth exploding in a fiery vortex that drew a series of Ooohs and Aaahs from the audience. Vixie landed, head slightly bowed, the flames still spiralling around her. The audience dissolved into rapturous cheers and applause, their noise filling every space of the impressive arena.
Vixie panted as she maintained the pose. The final rings of fire were unwinding around her like a dissolving spring, guiding the routine to its end. She wasn't sure that she had ever worked so hard or so passionately on anything in her entire life. It was like her mind had been in autopilot during the entire thing, waiting to process any thoughts or feelings until the routine was completed but now, waves of emotion were rushing across her mind, threatening to overwhelm her. The fire winked out and she looked up with a slightly tired smile before falling back onto her haunches, still panting from the excitement of it all.
The crowd continued to cheer and shout as the judges discussed their decision. Vixie continued to draw energy from the crowd and by the time the announcement came, she felt re-energised and almost thought she would have been able to do it all again!
9.1! Vixie felt a sudden pang of...something. It was hard to tell what exactly. Part of her was very happy as 9.1 really was an incredible achievement, Passion hadn't thought she would get more than an 8.5. On the other hand, Passion had earned a 9.5 during the qualifier, so despite somehow performing beyond her wildest dreams, she had still failed to match Passions performance. As things stood, that put her in third place after 5 entrants and she was still unsure whether top four would count as a win for the Floette's wish.
"Passion everybody!" called the announcer and the audience burst into another explosion of applause. Vixie loped off down the stairs towards Nissa.
As soon as she saw her, Nissa lifted her up and started spinning in circles "Oh I am so proud of you" she smiled, tears, welling at the corners of her eyes "To do that after just 3 days, oh Vixie, I am so glad you became part of our family!" she squished the little fox right into her chest.
A short, pleasurable hug later, Nissa placed Vixie back down. She had not been able to stop grinning and her joy was still plastered on her face "I am going to stay and watch the rest of the contest, you can stay here or head back to where the others are if you wish"
Vixie considered staying, she really did, but she wasn't sure she could handle watching herself lose. She would rather find out later, rather than the constant assault of nerves that would occur as she fell first to fourth place and then...she shook her head, No! She could still win, it wasn't impossible. A 9.1 was a good score and would have seen her through the heat...but she definitely didn't want to watch.
"I'm going to go back" she said, as if Nissa could understand, paused, and then walked nervously away from the stage.
The doors in the contest centre had been designed so that Pokémon could easily open them and Vixie had no trouble making her way back to the dressing room. "Uhm, hey everyone...I'm back, I..." her eyes widened as they fell upon her two fellow Pokémon. Chaos was pushed back on to his haunches, his thick, red, slightly tapered cock standing proud while the pretty Vulpix Passion was lovingly licking its surface. She had frozen mid lick as the pair of Vulpixes locked eyes.
Vixies face went bright right "I...uhm...I'm Sorry, I... will go back to the contest"
Chaos's face broke into a big grin, though, his voice betrayed some of the arousal clearly flooding through his system "Nonsense, I had been looking forward to your return. Join her, I'd love to see the pair of you joining forces to worship me. I am still surprised that I have the opportunity to enjoy Passion in stereo"
Passion looked up at him, licking her lips "I am not enough?"
Chaos laughed "Of course you are enough, but who doesn't want more of a good thing? You don't want to play with our little toy?"
Passion glanced back at Vixie humming slightly "I...suppose if you are here to stay, I can share, there may certainly be some fun to be had in your apparent masochism" the look that crossed her face made Vixie nervous. What was even going on? She felt so confused and to make things worse, she could feel pulsing waves of heat flowing out from her groin. She supposed it was hard to deny that on some level the scene in front of her was rather erotic.
"N...No" Vixie said with a nervous, flushed smile "I think I'll Pa..."
Chaos rolled his eyes before giving Vixie a winning smile. Something about that smile was off though, something that had caused her words to slow and stop. What was he doing, that was more than just a smile, it was...
Suddenly, a series of little pink hearts began to form in the air around the big Absol, dissolving into little neon flecks that floated in the air like petals drifting on the wind...was that...was that attract?
Vixie's heart thumped and she stumbled a half step forward. Emotions were swirling through her violently. It almost seemed like there was a pink aura surrounding the Absol, that...beautiful, handsome Absol. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts but it wasn't working at all. The more she thought about him, and she could do little else, the more her heart seemed to thump in her chest and the stronger she wanted him.
Passion looked up at him "Was that really necessary? I suspect all she required was a little coaxing"
Chaos laughed "She was so nervous, I think it was. Don't tell me you care? You know if she wasn't interested the effect wouldn't be strong enough to draw her in like this"
Passions only response was to give him a flat look before continuing to caress his swollen member. Vixie on the other hand, was taking a few more steps towards him. She knew this was magic, she knew the growing desire and need that was thundering through her was as a result of Chaos's attract and yet it didn't matter. It felt real, it felt like she needed him, wanted him...loved him?
Vixie found herself squeezing herself in next to Passion, her own tongue joining hers in their tender, needy attentions. Passion gave her a sideways glance, which despite the obvious erotic lust, contained an element of irritation. Vixie was sure that her own lust must have been written on her face, in fact, she hoped that it was, because she knew that Chaos would take great pleasure from watching the pair in obvious need. Saliva was drooling, oozing from her mouth, while a slicker fluid was dripping from her pussy. Chaos had barely done anything and she was already a mess, they both were. More than once, as the pair licked upwards along the throbbing surface of the Absols cock, they met in the middle, and the two Vulpix briefly made out at the peak of his dick. This brought Chaos no end of pleasure.
"Ah, don't stop" moaned the much larger creature, pushing the pair together with his front legs "This is so fucking hot, who would have thought I'd ever get sucked off by a pair of Passions"
Passion stiffened slightly at that comment but she did not stop. Certainly, the pairs worship was effective, as little spurts of pearly white pre was beginning to spurt upwards and splatter onto their muzzles. At this point, Vixie was moaning lewdly while grinding her pussy against the rough carpet. She was so aroused and as much as she hoped Chaos was receiving her love, she needed more. She kept trying to take his entire member in her mouth, but every time she reached the top, Passion was there, and the two Vulpix would kiss messily, Chaos's pre, swirling in their mouths.
Suddenly, Chaos came, his cum spraying up into the air like a fountain. Vixie had seen actresses in porn get messily covered in cum during the climax before, but this was simply on another level. Absol weighed almost five times as much as the little foxes and his cum fell like rain. Chaos's entire body was convulsing with pleasure as every muscle in his body tightened in time with the spurting of his cock. His back legs contracted around the pair, squeezing them tightly together and Vixie could almost feel Chaos's arousal through his soft, warm flesh, heightening her own.
Passion was moaning lewdly herself, trying to reach her pussy with her paws, though, the Absol's tight grip made that almost impossible. Vixie on the other hand, was in a world of pure delight. She had brought her lover great pleasure and as a sign of that his seed was raining down from above. She moaned loudly and simply enjoyed Chaos's embrace "Ahh Chaos, please, m...more" she licked the cum from her lips and held her tongue out like she was collecting snowflakes during a storm. She moaned and mewled and shifted until her own body rocked in orgasm brought on purely from her desire for the big Pokémon.
Eventually, Chaos released his grip on the pair and Vixie found herself hungrily licking up the Absol's seed from the carpet, a little guilty shock of pleasure ran through her with each slurp.
Chaos grinned at the panting Passion, though lust still lay heavily on his voice "What did I tell you, quite the fun little toy we have here"
Passion just glared at him, ignoring the demeaning way that Vixie was acting "Shut the fuck up Chaos and fuck me"
Chaos gave a small laugh and rumbled "Yes mam"
He moved suddenly, causing Vixie to tumble to the side with a squeal and caught Passion against the ground with a paw. Chaos really was significantly larger and he pinned her like a cat with a mouse, squashing her shoulders heavily into the carpet. Passions body was pulsing with need and it was clear that she wasn't fighting against his rough treatment, instead, she pushed her ass into the air as best she could under Chaos's heavy pin.
Vixie quickly recovered, cum dripping from her mouth and felt a huge pang of jealousy. That being said, despite the fact that she wished she was pinned instead of Passion, she couldn't help but wonder how Chaos was going to fit, obviously he must be able to, since she knew that they had produced eggs before, but it just looked so...big.
Passion squealed out in pleasure as Chaos entered her, visibly distorting the flesh of her belly as he began to piston in and out of her pussy. Vixie couldn't help but dash up and look needily at Chaos "Me...me too" she moaned "Please...I...I want it as well"
Chaos looked down at her with a small smile and continued his rhythmic thrusting into the pinned fox "In good time Vixie. Be patient. I can only fuck one slut at a time" he paused for a moment and hummed "Or, can I..."
He suddenly flipped Passion on to her back while she was still impaled on his cock, causing her to release a wild mewl of surprise. She was a total mess, nothing like the dominant arrogant creature that had made Vixie's life so difficult. Drool was pouring from her mouth, while her fur was covered and stained in patches of saliva and cum. You could easily see where she had been pushed down into the carpet as her perfect fur had been messed up by her ordeal.
Vixie felt a little confused and bit her lip as she tried to control the inferno of lust and need that exploded throughout her body. As hard as it was, she would just need to wait her turn, she would just need to be patient and... Eep!
Chaos had snagged her with his right paw and somehow lifted her up, and then slammed her down on top of Passion. It happened so quickly, it was hard to actually tell what had actually happened but what she did know, was that she was now on top of Passion, looking down into her drooling face. Passion's fluffy body convulsed and writhed beneath her and she could feel the Absol's enormous member pushing in and out of the Vulpix's pussy. Lying on to top, Vixie was receiving almost as much stimulation. Each thrust of Chaos's cock, pushed against her own sex, and the constantly convulsing Passion writhed against her form.
Vixie was soon moaning and mewling alongside Passion, and cum and saliva, oozed in equal measure from her mouth onto the other Vulpix face. Passion was staring up towards her, eyes struggling to focus, lewd noises spilling from her lips. Suddenly, Passions limbs wrapped around Vixie like a vice and squashed her in close, embracing her in a sloppy, enthusiastic kiss. Vixie was having trouble keeping things together herself, her mind was starting to break down from the pleasure but she knew she wanted it, she was an enthusiastic participant and returned Passions kiss with gusto.
Chaos placed his limbs on either side of the pair and lowered his head to pin the fluffy pile into place. Suddenly and precisely, he pulled out from Passion before slamming his cock into the middle of the furry sandwich, fucking the space between them enthusiastically. With the pair roughly pinned in place, each stroke of his cock slid across both of their pussy's, causing the pair to cry out in progressively louder, lustier and messier moans.
The trio came together as Chaos sprayed cum between the two like he was filling a cream bun. Cum spurted out everywhere, from between their bellies, from between their tails and from between their heads. The gunk was soaking deeply into their fur as the vixens came just as hard, adding their own, slick liquids to the gooey cocktail.
The noises they made were primal, an expression of the rampaging lust running through them. The trio convulsed as muscles fired involuntarily and the world pulsed white with each vibration. Again and again the pulses came, slightly less intense each time, until the trio were left lying in a furry, messy pile.
Vixie panted heavily trying to ignore the heat that was still swimming through her head. It was kind of difficult to concentrate on anything with the potent hormones still flooding her system but slowly and surely, the trio detangled and the intensity of their copulation began to fade to a pleasant, if tiring afterglow.
Suddenly, Vixies eyes shot wide and she looked at Chaos "Ahh...Y...You used attract! D...did you really do that?"
_ _
The Absol gave a loud, rumbling laugh and leaned back onto his haunches "You seemed to enjoy it"
Vixie's face went bright red, She wanted to deny it but couldn't, in fact, at least part of her wanted to do it again...right now "Th...that's not the point! You messed with my mind!"
The Absol's smile widened further "Then you did enjoy it, you wouldn't have done it otherwise, it amplifies feelings, it doesn't create them" he tilted his head slightly "I could use it again?"
"No. Thankyou" Vixie said quickly and slumped back onto her haunches, much as she wanted to be angry at Chaos, she couldn't. The pleasant sensations were still thundering through her, still making it difficult to focus. She was still so horny that it was a fight to not start masturbating in front of him. Damn him! Taking advantage of her masochistic tendencies like that was cheating. She looked up and shivered slightly. If she didn't win...was this going to be her life from now on? To be the toy and plaything of these two?
The door creaked and Nissa entered, a huge smile plastering her face "Oh Vixie! I am so...pleased...with you. Oh, Chaos, not again"
Chaos laughed "Guilty"
The flurry of cleaning products that appeared and the speed at which the mess was cleaned up shocked Vixie. It was more than obvious that this was a practiced routine that Nissa had performed many times. There was gunk everywhere, splattered across the floor and the Pokémon were in a worse state, much of their fur matted with goop, yet, in less than ten minutes, you couldn't tell that anything had happened.
Nissa slumped down onto a chair and gave Chaos a hard look "I know you have a high Libido Chaos but I've told you so many times, keep it for home, you even involved poor Vixie in your perversions..." she frowned slightly looking at the pair before sighing.
"You know, you two look so alike that I don't think I can actually tell you apart, it is actually kind of shameful, but, it's really miraculous how similar you are"
Vixie blinked slightly "But I am the one wearing the bow...oh" in Chaos's rough treatment, her little accessories had been lost "Uhm...well, I am Vixie"
"She can't understand you idiot" said Passion.
"...I know" responded an abashed Vixie.
Nissa looked at the pair with a small smile "To make things worse, someone broke your pokeballs...I can't imagine who would even do such a thing, it's not easily achieved."
Vixie blinked, a strange flicker had run across Passions face. Did she know something?
"I'm really sorry about that but I've picked up some new ones, I even paid out the extra cash for Ultra balls! You guys deserve the best, so I got you an upgrade" she giggled slightly "I got you collars too, to help tell you apart"
"Did I win?" asked Vixie with a nervous tone
"Of course you didn't" said Passion "And she can't understand you"
"I know!" said an exasperated Vixie "And...and I got a 9.1, it's not impossible"
Passion looked shocked "A 9.1? Are you serious? How is that even possible after just three days?"
Nissa pulled out the first collar "Okay, okay...I'm soooo sorry about this but which of you is Passion"
Passion didn't respond, didn't even look at her.
Vixie gave her a confused look and tilted her head as Nissa spoke "Okay, okay, I'm sorry, I feel terrible about this but please, this will make things easier"
Once again, Passion did not respond and instead it was Vixie that spoke "Why aren't you speaking up? It's not her fault. We really do look alike"
Nissa giggled slightly and picked Vixie up "Thanks! I really am sorry, I promise not to do it again" and she wound the thin, black collar around her neck. The collar was made from a soft velvet bearing a heart shaped pendant stating "Passion"
Vixies eyes went wide and her mouth trembled slightly "No...no, I am Vixie, that's Passion"
Nissa placed her down and looked towards Passion "And that makes you Vixie I guess! come here" Passion gave Vixie a sideways, sly grin "I am not doing any more of those stupid contests" she reached her head up and allowed Nissa to wrap the collar around her neck.
"But...but...but" said Vixie before the world suddenly began to dissolve and artefact. Nissa had activated the new ultraball. "noooooo!"
As her new world faded in, she felt confused...why did it bother her that Nissa thought she was Passion, did it really matter? No? Yes? Argh! She couldn't explain why it mattered but it bothered her just the same. She sighed, no matter, Nissa would soon work it out. The pair were not in any way the same and she was sure that Nissa would quickly realise that she was Vixie.
She had appeared in a small town square, with small, Vulpix sized houses surrounding its edges. In its centre, was a huge, multi-teared fountain, sporting a variety of stone Pokémon, spraying boiling water from their mouths into the bubbling surface of its waters. She took a moment to glance around. This wasn't really a town, literally just a square of tiny building around a courtyard. Beyond the square rose mountains, meadows and coniferous forests.
Vixie climbed to the top of the fountain, its boiling water feeling pleasant and not painful in the least. From her higher vantage point she could see lakes of sparkling blue water and forests of autumn colours in the distance. The landscape wasn't void of structure either, with ruins and castles to explore. This seemed a much larger, more complicated environment than the pokeball, there was enough to explore here to keep a tiny Vulpix busy for some time.
Vixie's stats appeared in the sky
She blinked a few times looking up. If her old pokeball had been destroyed, she guessed she would have to be registered again with the computer.
"Would you like to give your Pokémon a nickname"
Vixie's eyes widened. "No."
P...A...S...S
"NO, NO!"
I...O...N
Passion looked down at her little red form in shock. She had only just managed to get used to being called...being called...oh god, what had her name been? She lowered her head and burbled, placing her paws on her ears. This wasn't how it was supposed to go, she had just wanted to help Nissa win, that's all; and she would have been happy, and he would have asked her on a date and...and.
Passion sighed. It was too late for that, this was who she was now, and there was nothing that she could do.
If she ever saw a Floette again, it was getting set on fire.
