Freddy the Blue Jay, former high school track star, goes to a party reconnects with a powerlifter who competed while they were still both at school. Now it's after the party and he and the big lug of a raccoon don't want to go home, just talking about whatever. But then the bigger guy gets an idea, and Freddy's about to learn there's a reason raccoons are called 'washbears'.

It was well past midnight, and Freddy and Reggie were still standing out on the street. The party they'd left together was long over, but they didn't feel saying goodnight, not yet.

Freddy was wearing his letterman jacket, wing-hands tucked into his pockets, and a pair of jeans that would show off his tight runner's ass if he pulled the hem of the jacket up in back and splayed his tail feathers right. The blue jay was leaning against a streetlamp, eyes rarely leaving his companion.

Reggie was a bit more antsy in his body language. The hefty raccoon idly swayed from foot to foot, his striped tail swaying back and forth behind him in counterpoint. He gesticulated with his hands as well, the slender fingers coming out of his fairly loose sleeves. At least they were loose around his wrists. The thickness of his arms drew the jacket's fabric taut, while his chest and belly strained the buttons on the flannel. Despite the definite layer of fat on the procyon, the distribution belied what Freddy knew: He was a powerlifter. He might have been able to pick up a car if so motivated.

They had both been in sports in high school, though on opposite sides of the programs: lifting and track hardly intersected. Reggie, however, had outgrown his old letterman as he had continued to just get bigger and more cuddly looking.

Freddy thought the rounder cheeks suited his friend, but he didn't mention it. No need to rush along to that bridge to cross just yet. After what had gone on with Ben and Ray he was a bit more open to other guys but there was no way of knowing if the raccoon was as well.

Just as Reggie was petering out of the topic he'd been rambling on about, his stomach let out a loud empty complaint. He planted one of his paws over his belly and squished down on it. "Jeeze... been a while since I stopped grabbing snacks at Tommy's."

The blue jay shifted his hips to press with his shoulders off the pole, walking over to the raccoon. "Well, I bet there's a few places open this late. I don't mind hanging out in a diner or something. Beats standing."

The broad raccoon shook his head, stroking down over the flannel to de-crease from when he'd crumpled it inward. "Nah, I'm not in the mood for junk food..." He sniffed the air, and his eyes brightened. "You know what we should do?"

Freddy chuckled at the look on his friend's face. "What?"

"Go skinny dipping in the park." Reggie grinned broadly. "Just a block or two away, got that nice big pond..." He swayed a bit more, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

The bird raised his brow at the suggestion, then chuckled, a grin coming to the corners of his beak. "You know what? Why the fuck not?" He pivoted in his sneakers and started to walk that way, his gait naturally fast.

Following behind, the raccoon more lumbered, his ringed tail flicking around behind him.

Freddy pivoted to walk backwards. "What, not gonna race me?" He teased lightly, before smoothly finishing his turn to walk forwards again.

"Oh no, I learned my lesson on that a long time ago." Reggie had found his stride, however, momentum on his side to keep on moving. His stomach let out another empty growl as they crossed the street a block away from the park.

"You sure you don't wanna grab something to eat first?" The blue jay experimentally shrugged his shoulders, feeling the hem of the back of his letterman come up. With calculated precision he flexed his tail, spreading the feathers as he raised them away from his backside. He hoped he was subtle enough to look like he was stretching rather than giving a display. He peeked back at his friend to see if he was looking, but the raccoon met his glance.

"Nah, then we'd gotta wait before swimmin'" The powerlifter chuckled, waiting for the bird to look back forward to let his eyes drift down. His belly let out another rumble as he licked his lips idly.
