#31 of Slayer or Layer

Lorkos realizes that the power of the curse is doing more than just warping a few people. It's changing things completely in the village, to the point where it might be irreversible.

Slayer or Layer 31

For Lorvianne

By Draconicon

Due to the results of Mastar's spell and the feedback from the net of magic around Lorkos, the rebound had spread throughout the entire village. Lizard, kobold, anything that had scales already was slowly going into a more feral form, and anything that hadn't had scales when the magic had gone off started getting them.

Lorkos, as usual, wasn't particularly affected, but he could feel that there had been a change. He constantly worried that his heat was going to come back, that he would be left helpless to those urges again, and he worried every time that a male came to see him that he'd end up offering himself to them again.

So far, that hadn't happened, but it didn't stop him from being sure that it would, eventually. Only time would tell.

Shivering a little bit, he looked down from his watch-stone. The dragoness that he had become continued to feel a strange sense of responsibility for the people here, for the scalies here. They were...they were so...

Ugh...why can't I just leave?

That was the biggest annoyance. If heat coming back was the biggest fear, not being able to leave was the biggest annoyance. Every hour that passed meant that Ashin got a bit further away, and the further off the red dragoness was, the longer it would take for him to find her again. And he needed to find her, particularly if he was ever going to get out of this goddamn spell net.

He growled as he flexed his forepaws, thinking about how he wanted to -

No. No. That would bring the need back down on him, and much as he had managed to get used to being in a feral body with a feral pussy, he wasn't going to start that going again if he didn't have to. There was no need to start getting everyone riled up and ready to fuck him. Particularly with...

He glanced down again. There were a few lizards making their way up the side of the mountain, all of them on all fours. Some of them were moving a bit further ahead of the others, though, and were leaning on some of the rocks that lined the slopes. As they did, a shiver went down Lorkos's spine.

Even as a feral, he knew that he'd feel those cocks poking out of their slits. They were just big enough to be able to breed him if they got up behind him, just big enough for him to be able to cum from being seeded over and over and over again. If he went into heat, if he started producing pheromones, then he was going to set off a chain reaction that would spread all over the village. If that happened...

Well, he'd not be leaving for another week, at least. He sighed, lowering himself down again, grinding his pussy against the rock a bit before he made himself stop.

You are not a dragoness. You are a wolf MALE. This is a curse. You will get out of it. Just...not for a while.

No matter how much he had fought against the curse, he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was no way to remove it without Ashin's help. He had tried shamans, he had tried mages, and he had tried doing stupid stuff himself. None of it worked. All it did was make the curse stronger, and make it spread to others.

Like these poor guys.

The males popped up at his side, dragging themselves onto his rock. They were not quite lizards anymore, he realized, but somewhere between the big feral lizards and actual dragons. The beginning of shedding scales could be seen along their backs, and he knew that eventually wings would pop free from there. They would soon have the ability to fly, and despite their feral bodies -

"Great One. We must speak with you."

Despite their feral bodies, they had better minds than they'd ever had before. The males had always had difficulty speaking in fluent words, or sounding like anything but uneducated thugs. Now, they were speaking with the same formality as the females, and a part of him worried about that.

Shaking his head, the 'dragoness' looked down at them, slowly pulling himself to all fours and standing over them.

"What do you want?"

"We're running out of supplies."

"And what do you want me to do about that?"

"Scout, Great One. That is the responsibility that you carry."

"...That I carry?"

"The Great One chooses where we hunt, where we gather. If you do not tell us where to go, then we will take far longer to find our supplies, our food, everything."

Well, that explained how the villages with a 'Great One' managed to get so large and hold themselves together so well. They were used to having the support of someone much bigger, stronger, and faster than them to tell them what to do. A flying scout, eyes in the sky, would tell them where the best sources of food and water and more could be found. That would let them grow, let them succeed in ways that others couldn't.

Of course they needed him. Their Great One still hadn't returned, and that was why he hadn't left. He just felt like...like something bound him here, like they needed him. Now he knew why.

"Fine. What supplies do you need?"

"Food, for now. Enough for the village."

"Fine. I'll be back soon."

Shaking his head, the blue-scaled dragoness took to the skies, wings flapping hard until the thermals caught his wings. The feeling of the wind brushing over his body was as good as ever, and he sighed happily as he allowed the wind to carry him along.

Soon, he was around the mountain, flying through the little rocky peaks that came off the sides of the slopes. Not much could find him up here, and it was a good way to be sure that nothing ambushed him, either. No other dragons - Great Ones - were out here, but with the gryphons that the mammals were starting to send out...

Lorkos thought it might be a good idea to do a full scouting run, and he took himself higher. Best to be sure, at least, and it would give him something else to do before he returned to the boredom of the village.

Another day passed. The village fed itself on a herd of goats that Lorkos chased down the mountainside into their spears, and they thanked him for it. The mutations among them continued, the feral transformation spreading further and further. The kobolds in particular seemed to mutate quickest, becoming little imp-like things. Not quite dragon or lizard, they seemed to maintain the most of their normal form, becoming these little things that flitted about on leathery wings.

They were constantly buzzing about the village, becoming like sentries and scouts along the paths. They seemed to take to it with a will, particularly as even they seemed to be gaining intelligence.

It was a chilling thing to see, both from a war-time perspective - the idea of fighting smarter opponents was not something that Lorkos relished doing, or something he wanted his own people to do - and from the perspective of what the curse was capable of. The fact that it could boost the mentality of others, giving them minds and intelligence where previously was only bestial instinct...

Well, it didn't bode well for others. What if he had the curse go out when he was around normal mammals? Would it drain them of their intelligence, since they weren't already scalies? Or would it turn them around, make them into intelligent, feral scalies? What was the limit of the curse, and what would it do to everyone out there?

And how would it be triggered? So far, it had only gone bad when the spell itself had been challenged, but he had been waiting around the village for over two days now, and it had already changed everyone drastically. It was like some sort of forced evolution, and he didn't know what to do about it. All he could do was keep watching, keep waiting, and keep hoping.

The third day rolled around, and Lorkos had to keep himself pinned to his rock with his claws and his tail, holding himself flat to the surface of it as the air echoed with the sound of rutting sex. He growled deep in his throat, a few clenches down between his hind legs reminding him of his own needs, needs that he was doing his absolute best to keep ignoring.

He'd woken up that day smelling and hearing an orgy in the village below, and it had sent a fire right down between his legs. The dragoness's body wanted to go down there and get fucked, get bred, get used. Not enough to indicate heat, thankfully, but enough to make him have to grip the rock for a full hour before he was sure that he was safe to let go.

Since then, the orgy had continued off and on throughout the day, almost like there was some sort of celebration going on, or as if everyone had gone into heat all at once. He grumbled to himself, occasionally having to go so far as to dig his forelegs and hind legs under the rock to hold himself to it, not trusting himself in the slightest to actually be let free.

The wind was his worst enemy. Sometimes, it blew the smells away from him, giving him a hint of freedom. He'd be able to think straight, be able to feel a bit better, and he'd feel like it was done.

Then it would change again, and suddenly he'd be washed away in the scent of horny scalies, forced to breathe it down and suck it in. His pussy had gone from wet to dry and wet again so fast that he wasn't sure if it even knew what it was doing anymore. Lorkos didn't dare lift his hips from the rock to check, considering that if he did, he might send his own scent down the mountain and draw them out of their village.

Gods...damn...it all...

The fourth day came, and with it came the first rumblings of something else down the mountain. Not lust, nor intelligence, but something else. Something new, something potent, something -

Magic.

Lorkos's eyes had whipped open as soon as he felt the tingle of magic on the edge of his awareness, and he stared down from his rock in pure disbelief. That had to be a mistake. He couldn't have actually felt someone using magic down there. It had to be -

Nope. It wasn't a dream. It was real. His jaw fell open as he saw a fireball, then an ice spike, and then more start to take form down there. The village had been affected by the curse so much that they'd unlocked the ability to use magic. They'd become so warped, so changed, that he had accidentally created a village of feral, flying, brilliant magic-users that were right on the edge of mammal territory.

...

There were no words for this level of fuck-up. He should have left the day before, or the day before that, but now it was too late. This place had already been leagues ahead of any other scaly settlement that he had ever seen or heard of. Now, they were on a whole other level.

I have to get out of here.

This time, the thought wasn't followed by any sort of protest, and Lorkos realized that there was no more reason for a Great One to be present. He had managed to break through the binding that kept him there. They no longer needed protection.

That's a scary thought...

Shaking his head, the dragoness flared his wings, pushing them out as far as they could go. He heard the voices down below, knew that there were some in the village that knew that he had noticed them. There were others that had to know what this meant, too, and he had to get airborne before they came after him.

Flap, flap, flap, and flap, and he was soaring high. He spread his wings, allowing the thermals to catch him, and soon he was rising higher. The village started to take to the air as well, some of them trying to catch up, but he was bigger, faster, stronger than any of them still. The curse hadn't turned them to dragons, yet; they still had limitations and most of them couldn't reach anywhere near his height.

The winds helped carry him from the mountain, and he soon left it behind. Lorkos didn't know what was going to happen next, but he only had one chance, now. He had to find Ashin, and there was only one place he knew to start looking.

Where it all began...

Lorkos flapped his wings again, taking himself higher, further from the earth. He was going to have to fly over some mammal territory to get there quickly. While it was a risk, it was one that he had to take. Otherwise, he'd be stuck in this form, forever, and the curse could bend itself even further backwards.

If that happened, it might not just be mammals that were at risk. All species could be. All of them turned from whatever they were to dragons. And if everyone turned to dragons, all apex predators, all without anything under them as natural prey...

A shiver ran down his spine, and he flapped faster. Ashin had to still be at the mountain. She just had to be.

What was he going to do when he found her? He didn't know. But he had time to figure it out. It was going to be several days in the air before he finally found the mountain, after all, and that would give him time to think.

Just don't get angry. Otherwise...

Yeah. Horny dragoness bad. He took a deep breath and kept flying.

The End
