About two weeks later, I heard a knock at their door. "I'll get it," I said, standing up from Seth's lap from where I had been watching a movie. His father paused it and smiled at me and then Seth pinched my ass. I glared at him as his eyes twinkled with a silent laugh.

His family and me had grown much more comfortable with each other. It was almost like I had known them for years, not just weeks. I laughed his father scolding him as I put my paw on the doorknob. I opened it and smiled at the cop I saw on the other side of the door. "May I help you Officer?" I asked him.

He looked at me for a moment and then looked a picture he had and then held it up to show me, "Is this you?"

I smiled and nodded my head, "Yes sir, that is me."

"Do you know that you've been reported as a runaway?" he asked.

I burst out laughing and said, "If I had been reported as a runaway all you had to do was go to my school every schoolday for the past two weeks to find me."

"But, your parents..." he started.

I cut him off with a smile and said, "My parents could care less about me running away, in fact, if I had actually ran away, they would have had a party. No, my parents know exactly where I am, and they know that I'm in love with another boy, which is why they reported me as a runaway."

He looked at me curiously and said, "Why would they report you for that?"

I chuckled and said, "Gays in this town are very much hated by most people, my parents included. They wanted to ruin my happiness. I mean, look at the picture, I was twelve when that was taken. I haven't had another picture since, not even for my school I.D."

The cop looked at me and then he said, "Alright, I believe you. I was never here, ok?"

"Yep," I said smiling at him, "Goodbye Officer, have a good day."

"You too," he said.

I closed the door as the cop turned away and walked down the steps and towards the driveway. I walked back into the living room and plopped myself down into Seth's lap, and rubbed my head against his chin. He smiled and said, "Who was that?" as he put a blanket over us again, tucking it in around me.

"The cops," I said.

"What did they want?" his mom asked, looking up from her embroidery hoop.

"My parents reported me as a runaway." I said as Seth's father played the movie.

"What did he say?" Seth asked, kissing the top of my head.

"I explained to him what was going on and he believed me." I said.

"Really? A cop from this town?" he asked.

I shook my head and said, "County Police handle missing person reports."

"Aha," Seth said. And with that, we all settled in to watch the last part of the movie. When the movie was done I slid off of Seth's lap and stretched, letting out a long, loud groan that Seth had come to know meant I was ready to go outside. He laughed and wrapped his arms around me. "Where are we going this time?" he asked.

"I was thinking we could go get my little brother and we could go to the park," I said, smiling at him.

"I thought your little brother hated you?" he said.

"Naw. He acts like it and we were never close, but he doesn't hate me." I said, "Besides, I kind of want to talk to Stephanie."

"Alright," Seth said, smiling at me.

Seth kissed me on the cheek and walked upstairs, coming back down with our shoes in paw. I put mine on and then walked to the door, waiting for him. He put his arm around me and walked out the door, and we chattered happily as we walked down the long tree lined driveway.

We walked into the town, my feet almost starting to hurt and we headed in the direction of my old house. When we got there I opened the door and walked inside and my mom looked up and scowled. "What the fuck are you doing here?"

"I technically still live here," I said, giving her a scowl right back. I started upstairs, Seth waiting downstairs near the door, and I walked upstairs into Stephanie's room. I smiled at her and said, "What's up?"

She jumped and looked up from the computer and she stood up and hugged me, "Nothing much, working on school work."

"Ahh," I said.

"Why are you here?" she asked curiously.

"Came to see if Tevin wanted to go to the park." I said.

"He probably does. He almost always wants to, but dad won't get off his lazy ass and take him." She said, "And I can't."

I smiled and said, "Then I better go help him out," I hugged her and said, "See ya later."

"Bye," she said.

I walked out of her room and over to Tevin's room. I knocked before opening the door, only to see my twelve year old brother sitting on his bed pawing. I blushed deeply and turned away. "Cody!" he said. I heard him scrambling and I knew he was pulling up his pants.

"Sorry!" I said.

He laughed and wrapped his arms around me and I turned to look at him, smiling, "I was going to ask if you wanted to go to the park but it looks like you're busy."

"No!" he said, "I want to come." I could tell he was eager for it.

I smiled and said, "Put your shoes on and we'll go."

He walked back over and plopped down on his bed, pulling his shoes out from under his bed. I smiled as he put on his shoes and then stood up, stretching his arms. I held out an arm and he put himself under it and I smiled as we walked out into the hallway and down the stairs. As we left our mom shouted, "Oh yeah, go off with the faggot why don't you!"

He whimpered and pushed himself against my side, looking down. I scowled at her and said, "It's better than staying here with the laziest, fattest bitch in the world."

I slammed the door and, growling, started down the steps of the front porch. "Don't listen to her," I said.

I looked at Seth and turned my scowl into a smile and hugged him. "Tevin, this is Seth, Seth, this is Tevin."

He smiled and held out his paw, "Hey," he said.

"Hi," Tevin said, taking Seth's paw.

I smiled and said, "Come on, let's go to the park. I want to spend some quality time with my baby brother."

Tevin glared at me and I laughed and wrapped an arm around him. We set off walking, me pulling Tevin to my side and Seth with his arm around me. When we got to the park I slammed my palm to my forehead and said, "Much good the park does if we don't have anything to do while at the park."

Tevin smiled and he said, "It's just nice to get outside every once in a while."

"Why don't you hang out with your friends?" I asked him.

He sighed and shook his head, "I don't like anyone here. They're all so..."

"Cruel? Mean? Nasty?" I asked.

He nodded his head and said, "Why can't we live in one of those nice little towns where everyone knows and likes everyone else."

I chuckled and ruffled my brother's hair and said, "Bro, when I find one of those I'll tell you."

He glared at me and I smiled. "So, what do you want to do?" I asked him.

He shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know."

"There has to be something you want to do," I teased him.

He blushed and said, "I can't think of anything."

I smiled and said, "Fine, let's walk."

We started to walk again, towards the lake and as we were walking on the shore of the small lake I grinned suddenly and pushed Tevin into it. Unsuspecting he stumbled into the water and fell on his ass and I started laughing as he glared at me.

I pulled Seth into the water after me and I pushed Tevin deeper into the water. "What was that for?" Tevin asked, coming up from under the water, sputtering as he spit out lake water.

I grinned and splashed him, "I just supplied us with something to do."

Suddenly, I felt a paw on the back of my head and I quickly held my breath as Seth dunked me under the water. When I came back up I glared at him and pushed him. He grinned and hugged me, pulling me under water yet again, but this time he came with me.

"I'm happy my cell phone is in its water proof cover." He said, grinning at me.

I blushed and said, "Sorry, I forgot."

He kissed me and said, "Be a little more considerate next time babe."

"Alright," I said, looking down at my feet for a moment before Tevin jumped and wrapped his arms around my neck, trying to pull me down, and succeeding. I splashed him again and I started to go out towards the deeper part of the small lake. "The only problem with this lake," I said, "is that it only gets to about ten feet."

"And that's a problem?" Seth asked, still standing in the shallows as Tevin and I swam around, splashing each other.

"There's just something more interesting about swimming in deep water," I said, grinning at Seth, "come on out hun! The water is fine out here."

Seth blushed deeply and said, "I'd rather not."

"Aww," I said, "Why not? My big kitty afraid of a little water."

"Yes, actually, he is." Seth said, blushing deeper, his face turning from red to purple.

I swam back over to him and said, "You don't know how to swim?"

He shook his head and said ,"I never cared to learn."

I grinned and pulled him to a point where the water was up to his neck. "Lean back," I said.

"What?" he asked. I could tell he was scared right now.

"Lean back," I said, smiling, "I'm here sweetheart, I can pull you up if I need to and your feet still touch the bottom."

He shuddered but leaned back, and I pulled his legs up slowly until he was floating on his back. I smiled at him and said, "Now your floating."

"How is this going to help me with swimming?" He asked curiously.

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "Unless your going to go out for the swim team all you have to do is flip over and start moving to be swimming, it's that easy."

He looked at me for a moment and then he tried it, moving onto his stomach and then he started to move his arms in an awkward dog paddle and soon he actually managed to stay afloat and move. I smiled at the triumphant grin he had on his face and I laughed and leaned into him when he came back so he could stand again.

"I love that smile," I said.

"I know you do," he said, nuzzling my neck.

I looked at the watch Seth had bought me, luckily it was waterproof, and saw that we had been there for at least two hours. We stayed for a few more hours before Seth announced that he and I needed to be leaving. Tevin groaned and looked down and said, "Today's been so much fun. I wish it didn't have to end."

I smiled and then I looked at Seth and said, "Maybe he could stay the night?"

He considered for a moment before smiling and saying, "I'll call my parents and see."

He walked out of the lake and, making sure not to get his phone to wet, called his parents. He came back smiling and said, "He can."

Tevin grinned happily and hugged both of us. "Come on," I said, "let's go get your stuff for tonight and then we can go to Seth's."

Opinions please, and please, tell me what you think of my new banner. I made it myself and I'll be redoing it soon because the size proportioning and positioning of the words are sort of off, plus I sort of made it seem more like a banner for a story. Done with my rambling :P
