The young Man-Cub let out a tired yawn as he lazily pulled himself out of bed, rubbing his eyes as he started to stretch. _'It's gonna be a long day...'_He thought as he casually snatched a banana out of the fruit bowl and made his way out the door. A familiar voice called to him, snapping him out of his thoughts. He turned to see none other than his best friend Shanti gleefully strolling towards him. "Oh hey Shanti, anything interesting happen today?"
"Not much, aside from the fact that I came across something _very_unique this morning!" Shanti playfully responded as she reached inside her dress pocket. "I was getting some water when I found this little thing in the river..." She explained as she pulled out a small necklace with a purple jewel attached at the end.
"Wow Shanti, I've never seen anything like this." Mowgli exclaimed in astonishment, leaning in to get a closer look. "This is just..." He trailed off, his eyes widening as he continued to stare at the jewel.
"It's a real beauty, isn't it?" She smiled, slowly swinging the jewel side to side as she held it closer to Mowgli's face. "Y'know, if you look at it when the light of the sun hits it just right, you can see a beautiful pattern within the crystal." She explained, her cheerful smile changing to a coy smirk...
Mowgli however was too distracted by the swaying jewel to notice Shanti's slight personality change, his eyes following its movements as it swung from side to side. "A... pattern...?" He asked in a slightly dazed tone, watching as the sunlight occasionally reflected off of it, shining a beautiful array of rainbow colors before the Man-Cub's eyes. "Oh... You're right... I can... see it. It's just so... so... wow..." Mowgli mumbled, his breathing slowing down just a bit as he continued to stare, the colors felt so enticing... so alluring... so... so familiar...
"Relaxing, isn't it?" Shanti asked in a soothing tone, watching as Mowgli's eyes became glazed over, with his lips curling up into a small smile.
"Yes... so relaxing..." Mowgli sighed softly, his eyes never leaving the jewel even as his eyelids drooped.
"The way the colors spin, shift, and sway. The relaxing feeling flowing through your mind and body..." Shanti continued, giggling a little as the Man-Cub's legs began to quiver as his arms slumped down to his sides. "And when you gaze at it just long enough, it starts to feel like you're just... sailing on a silver mist~"

"...owgli? Mowgli!"
Shaking his head, Mowgli looked around and saw that he was still in the marketplace with Shanti, with everyone going about their normal business. "Wh-whuh? What happened?"
"You kinda zoned out for a moment." Shanti replied, fastening the necklace around her neck while inspecting the jewel. "Anyway, I'm gonna show this off to some of my friends, you got any plans for today?"
Just as he was about to reply, Mowgli felt a shiver go down his spine. The Man-Cub then turned his attention to the village gate, it was hard for him to explain, but he felt a sudden urge, some sort of... compulsion to head into the jungle... like it was calling to him.
"Well... I've got a full day ahead of me..." He began, turning his attention back to his friend. "I think I'm gonna spend some time in the jungle." The Man-Cub added in an almost stoic tone before making his way towards the village gate at a hurried pace. "I'll see you later Shanti!" He shouted over his shoulder.
Shanti simply waved goodbye... with a small yet seductive smirk. "Have fun, Mowgli~"
Mowgli wasn't sure just how long he had been traveling through the jungle, however for some strange reason every so often he would feel an urge to make a detour or stop for a small snack upon spotting a fruit tree... and yet, before that thought process was completed, he would immediately feel the urge to keep going... as if something was pushing him forward non-stop.
It wasn't long before the Man-Cub arrived at his desired destination; a calm river not too far from a tree with branches just low enough for him to climb onto, it was one of his favorite resting spots outside the village.
While he perked up at first, he suddenly felt a nagging feeling in the back of his head. Something felt... off. 'Why did I just leave like that...?' Mowgli pondered to himself as he walked up to the base of the tree and sat on one of the larger roots. 'I mean, I love staying in the jungle, but this felt... different... like I had to come back no matter what...'
"...and what brings you to the heart of the jungle today, Man-Cub?"
Before he could ponder any longer, he heard a familiar voice from the branches above. Looking up, Mowgli saw none other than Bagheera resting atop one of the sturdier branches.
"Oh hey Bagheera. Uh, I'm looking for Baloo, I guess..." Mowgli replied as he laid back against the trunk, hoping that chatting with one of his old friends would at the very least get his mind off of things. "Have you seen him anywhere?"
Bagheera arched his brow and let out a tired yawn. "Ugh, if I know that bear he's probably messing around with the Bandar-log at the old ruins..." He began, his tone implying a bit of aggravation. "...and it's gotten even wilder since he brought in the girl bears..."
However as the panther continued to talk, Mowgli found himself paying more attention to the way his tail swung back and forth, his eyes following its motions as it dangled temptingly in front of him. The Man-Cub just couldn't help but focus on the tails swaying motions, causing him to slip into a deeply relaxed state as it washed away his stress...
"...and all I want is to relax..." Bagheera continued before yawning once more. "...but they keep me up so late that I can't keep my eyes open during the day..."
The Man-Cub, in his relaxed and content state, was only half-listening to the panther. His eyelids were now half-closed, content on gazing at the swaying tail dangling before him. "Y-Yes... Mowgli mumbled with a dazed look on his face, he just couldn't take his eyes off of the panther's tail, its motions made him feel so relaxed... he wanted this feeling to continue... to last forever...
"Glad someone understands." Bagheera grumbled. "Honestly, without them partying non-stop I could slip into a silent slumber... and rest in peace~"

"Mowgli? Are you alright?"
The Man-Cub snapped out of his dazed state, shaking his head once more. Looking around, he then noticed that the panther had leaped down from the branch he was resting on. "You looked pretty out of it for a moment..."
"I-uh, y-yeah. I was just a little more tired than I thought..." The Man-Cub replied as he stood up and started to stretch...
...and yet for some strange reason, he felt that _compulsion_again... that sudden urge... but this time, said urge was to head deeper into the jungle. "I... I think I need to go... I'll see you later Bagheera." He sighed, walking past his old friend wandering deeper into the jungle...
...not noticing the coy smirk on his face. "Enjoy your trip, Man-Cub~"
As the Man-Cub traveled further into the jungle, he soon found that nagging feeling returning... and it wasn't long before he found himself in a simple clearing with no other paths leading outwards, all he could see were more plants, a few fruit trees...
