Cocoshark's Mistake
This was a fun art trade that I did for qundium featuring his Cocoshark ending up on the wrong end of a contract. I don't think he minds. Or, well. If he did, he doesn't anymore.Story was written by Me.

Cocoshark's Mistake.
The bright sun of the coast bore down on the black furred cyborg. Kaj usually preferred to stay up to the north, in the cities where it wasn't anywhere near as warm as it was in the hot and humid coast. But, when money was on the line, the canine was willing to deal with being uncomfortable for a few days. As he relaxed in the self driving car, enjoying the AC while it lasted, he read through the dossier on the target that his client had given him.
Apparently the 'Cocoshark' had been a long time nuisance to the client, a small business owner on the beaches. Although the exact details of the reason were not presented in the job description, not that the canine asked too many questions anyways, it was made clear that the cocoshark was a thief and he was to be dealt with permanently.
Liquid entities were always a problem for the wolf. Flesh and bone? You could deal with that with a gun or a knife. But liquids? Bullets go right through them. Knives too. Many of them are exceptionally difficult to kill as a result, but the dossier did not say that the merc needed to kill him, just that he was to be dealt with in an indefinite scale. The cyborg's augmented eyes drifted towards the duffle bag in the passenger seat, where his plan B was kept. He wasn't entirely sure if it would work, but he could hope.
A chime from the GPS indicated that he was approaching the area that the target frequented. Hopping out, the heat and humidity immediately overwhelmed the dark furred canine. Walking to the trunk, he retrieved a few ice packs, and slipped them into pockets on the inside of his jacket that were usually reserved for weapons. With a wave of his hand, the vehicle sped off to find itself a parking spot.
Feeling somewhat better with the ice packs, Kaj began pacing along the sidewalks of the beach, his cybernetic eyes scanning every face along the way. The image of the cocoshark was kept in the corner so he could keep track for anything the facial recognition software missed. After about twenty minutes, the wolf was starting to regret wearing a black jacket and pants. His gear wasn't meant for long term heat exposure, nor was it designed to regulate heat of these temperatures. He was about ready to take a break when a voice called at him, near the railing.
"Orange juice~" The voice called. "Have some fresh orange juice!" It was a grey furred otter, sitting up on a little table with some glasses of juice sitting on top. He waved the wolf over with a smile, happy to have a customer. "Welcome! Do you want some juice?"
"Sure, why not. Got any that are chilled?" While the canine had no qualms with juice, the cups that were just sitting on the folding table didn't look too appetizing. The otter pulled out a nozzle from under the table, and poured a fresh glass for the wolf. The canine could already see the condensation collecting on the outside of the glass as he reached for it, drinking it all down, not wanting to take the glass with him.
"That's gonna be five bucks." The otter said, tone much less friendly, much more authoritative. Kaj nearly spat out what was left in his mouth. He wanted to protest, but it was a little late, and his own fault for drinking it before confirming the price. He held up his hand to attempt to send the otter some money digitally, only for the otter to interrupt him. "Cash only."
He sighed and reached into his pocket to pull out his wallet. "A little steep, don't you think?" Kaj mumbled sourly as he sifted through the bills, and pulled out five singles, and tossed them onto the table. Sure, it was a refreshing glass of OJ, but not worth five dollars in the wolf's eyes. Still, he was maintaining his temperature better again, and was on the lookout for the Cocoshark once more.
It was another hour before his sensors located the target, relaxing against a railing next to the beach in a blue Hawaiian shirt without a care in the world. With his target in sight, the wolf hummed to himself, walking without looking directly at the shark. Once he was next to the shark, he would 'trip,' and fall onto the ground right behind him. "Aw fuck!" He shouted out, loud enough to be heard.
The shark turned around in surprise, looking at the wolf sprawled out on the ground. "Are you alright?" He asked, looking down at the wolf, before reaching a hand down to help him up. As the wolf's hand reached up to clasp the palm of the shark, a discharge of electricity shot forth, running through Cocoshark's fluid body, stunning him, and causing him to destabilize into a puddle on the ground.
"I'm alright now." Kaj said, smirking, glad it was easier than anticipated. From out of his jacket pocket, he pulled out a hand vacuum and started slurping up the shark into a convenient container, leaving behind the shirt and collar. The wolf's car pulled up as he reached down and grabbed the collar, smirking as he approached the street, his car arriving to meet him. He tossed the bag of white coconut milk and the collar into the passenger seat, before buckling himself in. Kaj was happy to be back in the air conditioning of his vehicle, as it drove off.
When the shark finally woke up, it was someplace... completely new. It was dark, with the only light coming from a few computer screens, and a single light bulb over the glass tube he had been placed inside of. There was also a large pole that was spinning in the middle of, swishing his gooey body around. "Hey! Hey, what's going on!" He called out, a mixture of heat and the mixing pole making it difficult to form anything but his head for any extended period of time, flinching as a white powder was poured in from above. "Where am I!? What is this stuff?"
"Oh, good, you're finally awake." Kaj stepped into the light, stripped down to just what appeared to be a pair of orange briefs, putting his heavy arguments on full display. "I must say, I was expecting this to be a lot more difficult, but you're a bit of a pansy, aren't you?"
"Hey, go to hell!" The shark said, before the pole would come back around and turn his head back into goo, reforming a few seconds later. "You didn't answer any of my questions!"
"Fair enough. Doesn't really matter now. You're in a warehouse that I have commandeered for this particular project of mine." The wolf huffed out, clearly not too thrilled about the heat. "You have been targeted by a client of mine for removal. Instead of attempting to find a way to kill a creature made out of goo, such as yourself, I elected to remove you in another manner. And the powder that has been being dumped on you for the last hour is food grade gelatin." He paused a moment, shifting a bit as some of the lights on his metal limbs glowed a brighter blue for a second, and he let out a heavy sigh of relief. "I think that answers "Where you are, what's going on, and what that stuff is." The canine reached up and pressed a button on a remote, and the stirring rod would retreat up into the roof.
With that done, Cocoshark was able to fully stand up in his proper form, even if he felt unusually... heavy. "That... Uh. Well, I wasn't expecting you to answer so easily. Uhm... Why? Why me? Why uh... Gelatin?"
"I don't know." Kaj answered simply, shrugging obliviously. "Job said you were a nuisance and needed to be removed. I'm paid to do jobs, not ask questions." The wolf turned and walked to one of the walls, just outside of the light, and the sound of a heavy switch being flipped echoed through the room. In an instant, the white light above Cocoshark winked out, and a number of deep blue fluorescent bulbs lit up along the walls. In an instant, it went from being swelteringly hot to bone chilling cold. With the same flip, the lights on the wolf shifted from blue to red, giving him a much more ominous look in the light.
"As for the Gelatin... It is quite a challenge to deal with liquid creatures. Even the smallest holes you can escape out of." He explained, as the cold creeped further and further, infiltrating the glass tube, making the shark shudder and shiver. "As it happens, though, being made out of coconut milk made my life a lot easier. After keeping you warm and liquid, and mixing you with the Gelatin, all I need to do is chill you in order for it to set, leaving you nice and solid." The wolf grinned at him, the red lights casting a malicious shadow upon his face.
"What, w-ait, not!" Cocoshark lifted his hands and slammed his fists on the glass, but it wasn't budging. Again and again he tried, as the frost started creeping up the glass. He tried to look around, find some kind of escape. Jumping for the top of the glass tube, but it was too high. He lost track of time in his escape attempts, until the glass tube rose up on its own accord. Cocoshark stumbled out, trying to move quickly, but he was too cold, too heavy. He tripped and landed on his hands and knees, gasping for air, as the cold made it hard to get a proper gasp.
Kaj took a moment to pull his jacket back on, before he walked over and knelt beside his captive, running a hand down the cocoshark's back. Somehow he was still warm, like the cold wasn't touching him in the slightest. There was an unfortunate moan that left the shark's mouth, but Kaj had work to do. "Be a dear and don't struggle too much. I don't want to have to go buy more gelatin and find a way to re-liquify you. I don't even know if that would be pleasant." Out of his pocket would come a ring. It looked like it was made out of silicone or rubber or something. As Cocoshark opened his mouth to protest, the wolf stuck it into his mouth.
Surprise and shock was the first thing from the shark, as Kaj's hands came down on his muzzle to hold it right at his lips. His warm fingers rubbed at the sides of his muzzle. The heat kept the gelatin from settling properly, liquifying the muzzle area, but once he let go, the chill resumed, and solidified his muzzle, wrapped around the rubber ring, sealed in place. A hand came up and tried to pull it out, but he was too slow for the wolf. The shark's hand was grabbed by the hot metal fingers, and he shivered as his fingers started to melt away under the heat, let go only once his hand had been replaced with a round, smooth nub that looked more like a paw than a hand. While still reeling from the first, his second hand was reduced to a paw as well. "Oooohhh!" He protested in clear distress, as the canine pressed a finger right to his throat, and pushed a metal D-ring up against it, so that it would be fused into place, but even after that, the wolf wasn't done. Once in place, he slipped the familiar red collar around his throat, grinning at the jingle of the bell.
"Oh come now. You might as well, let it happen. It's not like I'm going to have a turn heart halfway through or something." Kaj jumbled out, the cocoshark trying to plead with his eyes. Another item from a pocket, something that looked like the black glass of a visor. "Besides, I need to hurry before you fully set, or I have to start all over again." With his hot fingers, he rubbed an area around Cocoshark's eyes, and placed the black glass over it. It set into the liquid area easily enough, and once the chill kept it from going anywhere, on the wolf's side of the visor would be a small loading bar. On the Shark's, hypnotic spirals started swirling around. He couldn't look away, even as he shook his head back and forth.
But, Kaj used that distraction to his advantage. Reaching between the captive's legs, his hands groped at the shark's package. He made small, soft circles, rubbing it, sure that it was pleasurable for the shark, but when the wolf was done, all that would be left was a nice smooth ball. Finally, a similar action to the mouth, he would use his heated finger to loosen the rear entrance of the soon-to-be-drone, and slipped a similar rubber ring in its place. He was done for know, and needed to wait for the cold to do its work.
Cocoshark moaned out loud, rubbing at his face with his useless paws, trying to pull the visor off, but it was flush with his face. He tried to pull out or spit out the ring, but his lips weren't working, and he didn't have a finger to push in. On and on the hypnotic spirals chewed away at his mind, slowing his movements more than the cold ever could. He stumbled onto his side as the last of his strength was sapped out of his body, his eyes growing unfocused, letting the spirals do their work.
Finally, the wolf was able to turn off the heavy chill, resuming a rather neutral temperature. Walking over to the drone, barely twitching in its stupor, it wouldn't be able to notice the knife. Carefully, Kaj sliced at the joints, specifically the shoulders and legs, leaving him just a wiggling helpless torso. It was like cutting right through flan, or peanut butter. The finishing touches would be some diodes that the wolf would push into the smooth plates. This way, whoever purchased the drone would be able to install whatever kinds of limbs that they preferred onto it. He did the same for the removed limbs, that way if the natural look was preferred, it was still an option. The canine retrieved a large suitcase from a nearby wall, opening it next to the limbless toy. Inside was foam with pieces cut out, which easily fit the four limbs of the toy, as well as the main torso.
A series of phone numbers would flash through the wolf's HUD as he searched for the Client's phone number, and dialed it. "Job is done." The cyborg stated bluntly, zipping up the suitcase. "I'm sending you the pick up address. I think you're going to like what you see." He hung up without waiting for a response, leaning down and picking up the suitcase ."Come." He teased, before carrying the toy out of the room.
There was a nearby cafe that had some nice outdoor seating with umbrellas to beat the heat. Sitting at his side was the suitcase, containing the drone that he was about to give away. What he wasn't expecting was the grey furred otter that approached him. The wolf squinted at him, confused. The otter was just as confused as he pulled out his phone, and double checked. Finally, he sat down at the table with the wolf. "You uh... Huh. I didn't know-"
"That's fine." Kaj said with a shrug. Wasn't the first time he accidentally ran into a client like this. "I figure that you'd like this." The wolf hefted the suitcase off of the ground and onto the table, opening up to reveal the drone, writhing and wriggling helplessly in the foam..
"Fully integrated equipment. Unable to disobey orders given to it. Limbs are removable, so by all means feel free to use it as an elaborate body pillow if you like." he explained, talking with the casualness of talking about a car. "Both entrances will ensure pleasure for whoever is taking advantage of it. Now, there's just the matter of my payment." His smile and aloof tone turned serious in an instant, as the canine's mechanical eyes focused upon the otter.
"Oh! No worries, I have it right here." He set a very large wad of cash onto the table. The wolf ran his fingers through it, mechanically counting them. Satisfied with the count, he pocketed the bills and stood up. "Alright. Well, it has been a pleasure doing business with you. Enjoy the toy. Or don't. Make your money back by selling it on the market, dump it in the sea. Leave it right here for someone else to pick it up. I'm not a cop. I'm not gonna tell you what to do."
Kaj's car drove up to the sidewalk, and the wolf left the otter with his new toy, before going back to the city where things were much cooler, and the sun wasn't trying to murder him.
