Lost in your Eyes - Chapter 2
#10 of Lost in your Eyes
The two furs walked home together, conversing during the fifteen minut walk from school to Mike's house.
"So, Max...can I call you Max?" Mike tilted his head, not really liking the name introduced to him. It was far too long to remember how to spell. Max nodded, "Of course. I think Max sounds cooler, anyway." He looked around at all the various restaurants and vendors that laid on the path to Mike's house. "You should show me around town on Saturday, if you're up for it." Mike smiled bashfully, scratching the back of his head. "Heh...yeah, I will."
"So, I never asked you what your name was, or if I did I completely forgot." The fox walked backwards as he looked at Mike, making sure he could paint a picture with a name. "The name's Flash, Mike Flash." Mike turned bright red and looked away after saying something that cheesy. The fox giggled quietly. They remained silent for a little while, letting the cheese melt away some. Mike would soon find his voice again. "So, why'd you move here, Max? Not much excitement around this town."
Max slowed down a bit, glad that somebody was curious about such a thing. "It's an interesting story, really." Max coughed a bit, clearing his throat for his story as they kept walking. "About a month ago I went blind, and my parents were torn asunder from that fact. They dipped into their rainy day fund in hopes to find a way to restore my sight, but there was nothing that could be done unless I had a very risky transplant."
"My parents had enough money for the procedure, but there were no fresh eyes available. It required a recently passed away fur for the transplant. Well, 3 weeks ago we were told to quickly come to the hospital in Eshanville, here, for the eye transplant. I felt pretty bad when I was told a young fox around my age passed away, and he was an organ donor. I would be using his eyes. But I wanted to see again...I pray that whoever had those eyes before will forgive me for stealing them." He looked up at Mike who stopped walking all of the sudden. He turned to face the blank stare of a wolf. "Mike?"
Mike began to shake with mixed feelings of anger, joy, passion, and revenge. "W...what was the donor's name?" Mike glared at the fox with an intimidating stare. Max backed away slowly, fearing that he said something to anger the wolf. He struggled to answer the wolf. "D...Darty...I think...Darty Oard." Mike's face became pale and he fell to his knees. Tears drowned his eyes and his breath became sporadic.
He couldn't believe it...Part of Darty was still alive...part of his lover was in somebody else. He felt...happy. He rushed over to Max, paws holding his face steady as he gazed lovingly into his eyes...no...Darty's eyes.
Max was frozen, confused by the onslaught of mixing emotions from the wolf. "Wh...what's going on, Mike?" Mike gave a stifled laugh, wiping his nose on his arm before he kept walking home with the fox. "I guess I'll tell you when we get home, hun."
Max was no fool. That 'hun' was the big clue about what Mike was feeling. Whoever this Darty was was Mike's lover...so Mike was gay. Max felt his heart flutter as he had just struck gold. His first friend in this town is one of the sexiest things he's seen in school. To top it off, Max had something to hold Mike's attention. Perhaps he could finally find love with another male. He followed Mike home, wanting badly to know right away what was going through Mike's head, but he wanted to be sitting down next to him. Was this love at first sight? It sure seemed like it from the way Mike was acting.

They arrived at Mike's house around five in the evening with nobody home. "My parents won't be back until around eight or nine. They always come home late on Tuesdays." Mike led Max inside, holding the door open for him like a true gentelemen. The living room was quite large, plasma screen TV just to the left hanging on the wall, two love-seats sitting across from each other on the right, and a computer with desk and a computer chair in the corner. An open archway just ahead lead to a tiled room which Max assumed would be the kitchen. Mike led max down the hallway on the left, and then they entered the first door on the left in the hall.
"This is my room...make yourself at home, I guess" Mike wasn't impressed with his room at all. There was...nothing...but a bed and a closet for his clothes. "I don't spend much time here, if you haven't guessed." The fox patted Mike on the back before entering, sitting on the foot of the bed and patting for Mike to come join. "Tell me what happened back there on the street, Mike."
The wolf shut the door behind him as he sat next Max, a little closer than what was expected if he were straight. "The donor of your eyes...was my lover." Mike looked down at the floor, sighing. "So yeah...I'm gay. And if I made you feel uncomfortable by staring, I apologize...I really needed to see Darty one last time, and I just felt like I was seeing him again through you." The wolf let out a couple sobs as Max scooted closer to the poor wolf. He held him in a gentle embrace to help comfort his friend. "Wow...I'm so sorry..." the fox began to weep as well, but not as serious as Mike was. "Mike...I know we just met today...and we've hardly known each other...but could we...spend more time together?" Max was bright red with embarassment after asking Mike out.
Mike looked up at Max. "Why do you want to date me so soon? I thought I would be the one asking you out too soon...considering" Mike chuckled a little bit, his sobs slowly going away. "Well...I guess I'm mostly intoxicated by your eyes as much as you are with mine. And I have a thing for guys who aren't afraid of showing their emotions in front of me..."
The two of them were smiling at each other, locking eyes for a moment until the trance of passion passed between them. Their smiles faded, passion's hands pulling their heads to the side gently before pushing their lips together. Mike gently brushed against Max's lips, enticing a quiet moan from the fox. Mike pushed forward, getting on top of Max as he heated up the kiss by parting lips and exploring the fox's insides. They both moaned in pleasure to the kiss, feeling each other get stiff in their pants. Mike started to grind against the tent in Max's pants on instinct, lusting for more of the fox. He hadn't felt such desire for anybody since Darty's passing.
Max reluctantly pushed Mike off. "Wow...um...before we get too serious with this...I need to make sure you're not just interested in me because of my eyes..." Max closed his eyes, hoping Mike would understand. "Otherwise...it'll be like you're cheating..." Mike sighed, jumping to the head of the bed as he whined in frustration. Max came over to Mike and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "I'm going to go home and finish my homework. Think about what I said. I don't want the two of us to start a relationship if it's based on something that is passed." The words stung Mike hard, but he couldn't deny the truth. If he only felt something for Max because of the memory of Darty...he would only be using Max as a means to his own end. "Alright, Max...sorry if I got a little carried away." Mike smiled at Max. "No worries. We can still be friends at the very least. Just please...please think carefully about this. I don't want to be hurt later on." He smiled back at Mike and left the bedroom, and then the house. Mike laid back on his bed, breathing out a grunt of relief as his erection subsided and he was calm again.
Now he had time to think...
He missed Darty, but he knew he was starting to move on. Seeing Darty's eyes again brought back his feelings of passion, but what he wasn't sure was whether that passion was for Darty, or for another male. He didn't want to start dating the fox just yet, but wanted to get to know him. Perhaps in time he'll learn to love Max for who he is, not juse fot his eyes. As of right now, he had to admit that his love was for the eyes...a physical attraction.
