Fates of the Unicorns - Chapter 13 - Captured

SPOILER WARNING : If you are new to the story, this chapter contains plot and character development spoilers for the over all story. This is an onging story, and this chapter assumes you know the story and characters.

Dana sat against the wall as far as she could get from Sabeth, not wanting to talk to her but also not wanting to chance getting into another fight. Being tied up most of the night was not pleasant at all and she had been relieved when the guards finally let her down. Since then she and Sabeth had been avoiding each other, and that suited her just fine.

Trying not to think about what might be happening to Tamira and the other unicorns her Master had taken earlier that day, Dana thought back to happier times from before the dragons raided. Back then she thought she had a miserable life. She never had any friends because of the terrible untrue rumors about her family. But she had been free. Nobody was going to rape her, or eat her. Her parents may not have had much social standing.. but they could comfort her and she missed them terribly.

It was going to be a long night without her friend. How cruel that she would find one here of all places, where it was only a matter of time before they went their separate ways, or were killed. She closed her eyes and wished for sleep to come and take her from her misery. Sleep did eventually take her, but even there she could not escape.

...

The sounds of fighting and shouting came in through the closed door clearly as Dana huddled with her parents and her infant brother. She wished she could be as calm as him, unknowing of the dragons just outside who were doing who knows what to the unicorns they caught. Killing them? Eating them? Taking them away? She knew they would come for her family too, and nobody was going to save them. Before she was pulled inside she saw some of those big monsters flying low. They had unicorns in armour clutched in their paws. They had already died trying to stop them and there was nobody left. Her mother shushed at her bother as he stirred, his tiny horn gleaming in the light as he fussed softly.

The door opened without so much as a knock and in stepped an armoured dragon warrior, dull red scales making him look like a demon to the terrified family. He looked around and focused on her father who had stood up, levelling his horn at the dragon.

"Don't you dare touch my family" he snarled, and shoved slammed a hoof into the dirt floor to fling himself at the invading dragon, the sharp horn pointed at the dragons heart. The dragon didn't react until the last moment, jerking to the side so the lethal horn passed between his torso and left arm, the unicorn's head slamming into the armoured shoulder and making the father see stars.

The dragon gripped the stallions head with his left arm, pinning the base of his horn and swung a fist up and into the unicorn's stomach. A moment later he raised his arm and brought his elbow down onto the back of the unicorn's head and let him drop to the floor in a twitching heap.

Dana cried out as her father fell, "Nooooo..." she said and shrunk back as the dragon's gaze turned to her and her mother.

The dragon planted a foot on her father and shouted, "Four of them. Middle aged male and female, an infant and a filly." He pointed at Dana and said, "You, come with me now."

She wasn't a filly was her first thought, she was nearly 18! Then the command struck her. Come with him? No! She shook her head as her mother put a protective arm around her. She closed her eyes and hugged her mother.

The dragon let out a growl, "We will allow your parents to remain to take care of the infant, if you come quietly girl. Make me come get you, and the first thing I do will to kill your father." His toes curled and dug into the small of her father's back, the unicorn squirming and still trying to recover from the blows.

Dana squeezed her eyes tight and wished with all her might for them to go away, but nothing happened. Slowly she opened them, turning to look at the big dragon. Nobody was going to help her she thought for the second time that day. No unicorn fighters to the rescue. No father to stand up and make them go away. She could go with them now, or delay leaving by however long it would take for the dragon to kill her family. She slowly stood, pushing off her mothers hand and looking down at her. She could see that her mother understood and she stepped forward, putting on a brave face.

Her expression lasted only a second before the dragon grabbed her by her horn and yanked, pulling her forward to stumble over her father who was trying to get up now that the foot was off him. Then she was past them and realised she might never see either of them again. She tried to turn her head for a last look but her horn was gripped too tightly. "Mom..." she whined, struggling.

The dragon clamped a strong, smelly paw over her mouth to silence her, then spoke to her mother, "Tell your man that if anyone leaves this house before we go, all will die." He pulled Dana forward as he backed out the door, kicking it closed.

The dragon pulled Dana into the street and by his grip on her horn forced her to look down at her hooves. She saw a pair of dragon feet walk up in front of her and then a quick view of a brown sack before it was pulled over her face! She screamed into the bag, her own breath quickly filling it as it was secured. Trying to get it off she raised her hands and found herself tripped and fling flat onto her face, arms pulled back and bound, her ankles forced into a pair of chained cuffs. She cried at the pain and terror of it all and was half pulled and half dragged forward. She stumbled, trying to keep her hooves under her while she was taken, the chain connecting her ankles was short and made it hard not to trip. The sack was rough and hurt her nose, the fabric making it hard to breathe. Before long she was stopped and forced to her knees. There she sat, panting in the bag and shivering in fear, waiting for what would come next.

She could hear cries and whinnies of other unicorns near her, but couldn't smell a thing with the sack over her face. Her knees hurt but whenever she had tried to shift her weight off them she got a smack for the trouble and she soon just sat still and whimpered at the discomfort.

Without warning she was yanked up and forced to yet another location where she was shoved rudely down to a kneel. This time she was not left alone. Her head was grabbed and forced down and she heard some sort of metallic squeaking before she could feel her horn knock up against something. Then she whinnied again as she felt her horn tightly trapped, unable to budge or turn her head even the tiniest amount. Light shone into her eyes as the sack was pulled off and she blinked until her vision returned.

What she was was that her horn was clamped down into a metal vice She strained to get a look at the thing, eyes rolled up as far as they could go to try and focus on the spot where the steel vice jaws were clamped down on her horn. There was a dragon on the other side carrying a massive wrench and she was helpless to do anything as he began to do something unseen to the tip of her horn. She could feel something hard touching the end through the vibrations at the top of her skull where her horn joined her head but did not know what they were doing. She caught a glimpse of the dragon grabbing one end of the wrench and then yanking with a loud groan of effort.

Dana howled as a horrible grinding and scraping noise seemed to fill her head, starting and stopping in short bursts timed with the dragons efforts. Then it was over, her eyes watering from the sudden headache. The dragon worked the vice and as soon as it loosened she was pulled up and dragged away. She stared upward, the familiar tip of her horn was gone and was now replaced with some sort of metal cap. She shook her head to try and shake it off but was cuffed in the face. She didn't offer any further resistance as she was brought to within sight of a large group of bound and kneeling unicorns.

A dragon stood next to several furry scribes, all looking at him attentively. "Name?" he asked Dana in a gruff voice.

"Dana..." she said softly, biting her lip in nervousness.

"Name your parents and siblings" the dragon said next as the scribes scribbled.

"Why do you want..." she started and was suddenly screaming in pain. Fingers had dug into her neck and shoulder from a dragon behind her and was pinching and pressing cruelly. It only lasted a few seconds before the dragon let go but her neck and arm throbbed from the abused pressure point. "Ahhhh!" she managed.

"Parents and siblings" the dragon said again, calmly.

She shook her head to clear it, "But the dragon said if I came you would let them live and.. ahhhhhh!" The dragon had pinched down again, longer and harder this time. It took her a minute to stop whimpering after the punishment and cringed when the calm dragon spoke again.

"You will answer the questions or you will continue to be punished. Your notes say your parents will be allowed to stay and care for their infant. We can go ask THEM instead if you wish..." said the dragon without emotion.

"No!" she said quickly and rattled off their names. "Ok? Please.. don't hurt them."

The dragon simply asked her another question, "Do you have children?"

Dana said, "Of course not!"

"Straight, lesbian or bisexual?" he asked next.

Dana gasped at the rude question, blurting out, "None of your... owwwwwww!" She arched her back as both sides of her neck were pinched this time and cried at the pain that throbbed after she was released. She swallowed when she could catch her breath and answered without being prompted, "I like boys."

"Which of your parents is not a pure-blood?"

"Neither!" she nearly shouted and then cringed.

The dragon simply considered a moment and asked, "Then why do so many claim you have horse blood in your family?"

She groaned, would this follow her even here? She said coldly, automatically for she had explained this many times before. "My parents had a daughter when I was still very young. She was born with patches of color. But it wasn't because of tainted bloodlines, she was sick, something was wrong with her and she died soon after."

"Your parents did not kill her to try and hide their shame?" said the dragon.

"NO!" shouted Dana, angry enough to not fear the punishment. "They loved her. Nursed her around the clock. Tainted blood! Unpure! All lies. I was there. I know!" As she panted quietly her anger faded her fear returned.

The dragon snorted with amusement, "If you WERE a half-blood, we would have let you go. We are here to take unicorns back with us and would not bother bringing back a tainted mare."

Dana suddenly felt like a fool. I just threw away my only chance of escape!

Laughing, the dragon stroked the side of Dana's muzzle as she recoiled from the touch. "Such a pitiful expression. Don't be too hard on yourself.. a little bite.. a taste of your blood would have told us the truth. Lying would have only led to more punishment and pain."

Dana looked down at the dragons taloned feet and whined softly to herself, her mind a mess of emotions as the dragon toyed with her. She hoped that now that she told him the truth about the rumors that he would leave her alone.

But the questions simply continued, many more personal about herself and then he began questioning her about others that had been captured. "What is his name?" "Who is his father?" "What job does that one do?" "How old is she?" "Name his sisters." She occasionally balked when a revealing or too personal question was asked but eventually just answered. She only lied once but somehow the dragon knew instantly and she spent several minutes on her back, gasping for air and trying to recover before the questioning continued. She did not know how long she was there.. hours.. days.. but the sun was still high when she was finally taken away so it could not have been as long as it felt. She was exhausted and ached all over from the gruelling experience.

She was brought to the group of kneeling unicorns she had been questioned about and shoved down roughly to her knees. The dragon that brought her smacked her face and then forced her to look at a unicorn lying bloody and unconscious, or maybe dead. "That one tried to stand up. The next one of you to do so will get worse."

Dana stared at the beaten unicorn and made sure her rump was firmly seated on her chained ankles no matter if it hurt or not. That unicorn had BITE marks on him and she shuddered in the primeval horror of prey seeing the results of a predator hungry for her flesh. She slumped and looked away, seeing a young male next to her and realised it was one she knew from school.

"He means it..." the boy said quietly, sneaking a glance at the dragon who was now standing guard a distance away to watch the whole group. "I'm scared" he admitted.

Dana nodded, "Me too Tanal." She wanted to lie down but it would probably hurt and moving didn't seem very smart. She thought about her family. Hoped they were safe. Nothing she could do for them now. She glanced at the unicorn next to her and shook her head sadly. A few hours ago she would have been nervous that she was going to get teased about her lineage, but now she realised how easy and lucky she had only having to deal with stupid name calling. Being captured by dragons put her former troubles in a new light.

Tanal didn't say anything for several minutes and then suddenly blurted out, "I'm so sorry I was mean to you Dana. Maybe this is punishment for that. I.. I never REALLY believed that stuff you know."

Dana turned her head away, not wanting to bring the subject up even if it seemed unimportant now. It still stung. Besides.. if he was the one who was bad why was SHE being punished too? She decided to ignore the apology and looked around at the other unicorns here. There were maybe twenty of them. She saw many classmates, but didn't see any children or anyone too old. Why were they only taking some of the town and leaving others? She asked Tanal, "They said my Mom and dad could stay... why?"

He seemed upset at having his apology ignored but answered, "I dunno. But others said the same thing. They are leaving young kids and the elders. Maybe they are going to kill them because they are too much trouble to take with them?"

Dana shook her head violently, "No.. no I won't believe that. Besides.. they could have killed them when they took me. They beat my dad" she said, choked up and sniffling.

With a nod he fell silent too.

Dana peered up at Tanal's horn tip, also capped but she could get a better look at it from the side. It was scratched up along the outside where the wrench had grabbed it and screwed it on. She shook her head a bit but didn't feel the slightest rattle. It was on there good she thought.

As the day moved on, more and more unicorns were brought cuffed and horn-capped. She watched them brought in. So many of them. She winced every time anyone she liked was brought up. There were not many mares that would socialise with her, but a few let her tag along at times and she was grateful they put up with the abuse from others when they did. By mid-afternoon the terror had faded to a dull fear and she was surprised to find herself actually bored. Several times she caught herself wishing something would happen, and then hoped even harder it would not.

It was mid afternoon when it happened. More unicorns had been brought in by ones and twos and there were twice as many of them now. A shout and cries of fear sprang up behind Dana and she turned to look. Over a nearby hill came a dozen drakes, gliding down to land in a nearby field. Several unicorns struggled up to their feet to try and shuffle away, others scooted backward on their rumps.

The dragons quickly herded the unicorns back with kicks and threats until one shouted over the cries and pleading. "Your rides are here. They will not eat you if you behave. We will also not kill your remaining families if you behave, so you will do as you are told!" He started to grab unicorns from one side of the group, pulling them up to their feet and pushing them in the direction of the drakes. Some resisted and were hit until they moved.

Dana was one of the first to be grabbed and she whinnied in fear for her life, not believing what the dragons were saying. There was no way those beasts were not going to eat her. They were so big, and those teeth. She stumbled as she shuffled but caught her balance as she made her way forward. She had no choice she thought. It seemed like it should take her hours to reach the drakes at the slow pace she moved at, but all too soon she was near one. She had to be shoved several times to get as close as the dragons wanted. After one look into the beasts gleaming eye she focused her own eyes on the ground, terrified.

A dragon grabbed Dana by her shoulders and held her as another slid a bunch of leather straps around her. They went under her arms, around her chest and down between her legs before being pulled up tight. "I wouldn't struggle if I were you. If you poke your ride with that horn he might eat you, or just drop you" said the dragon who had finished buckling the strap. He then hooked a thick strap hanging from the side of the drake and hauled on another.

Dana yelled as the straps bit in and she was lifted off her hooves to dangle at the dragons side. She couldn't even hold on, her arms still bound beside her. She thrashed around, trying to get comfortable but it was no use. She was stuck hanging off the side of the dragon, getting a much too close look at it's scaly side. Other yells and threats caught her attention and she saw others being harnessed and strapped into the rest of the drakes, hanging off both sides of the creatures. She hung there in misery and fear as her group was rounded up and hung. As soon as the last of them were attached she heard the riders barking their commands. Above her the giant wings spread and she let out a high pitched scream at the sudden huge shapes above her, and then her scream cut off as the dragon launched into the air with it's powerful hind legs, shoving her hard down into her harness as her stomach seemed to drop into her knees. It was too much for her and she slumped into a faint.

...

Dana woke with a jolt and rubbed at her shoulder, remembering the pain from the straps. Strangely her arms had hurt worse than the crotch strap. The stallions didn't get off so lucky she recalled, many spending the first few hours after the ride curled up on the ground.

She snorted softly as she realised that waking up from a bad dream wasn't the relief it used to be, now that her life itself was a nightmare. She blinked at the morning light and wondered what woke her up.

"Hey look, Tamira's back" said a unicorn closer to the door. "I was so scared for her when that dragon said she was going to dinner with him!"

Dana stood, shaking the sleep out of her head and going to the back of the cave. She relaxed as she saw her friend was not obviously injured. She looked closer and saw that the warrior was quite a mess though. The fur around her muzzle was crusted with dried, well she didn't want to speculate. The rest of her fur and hair was messed up as well, but the worst was her crotch and thighs, still damp. She winced as she saw there was some blood there too, not to mention her visibly bruised pussy, now an angry red. She realised where she was staring and brought her gaze back up to see that Tamira was watching her. Dana felt her face heat up and wanted to look away, but was too happy that Tamira was here and safe to do so.

Tamira gave a little smile and said, "Yeah I know, I'm a mess. I could use another bath."

"Where is Telly?" asked a unicorn to Tamira's side.

"She was ok when I left.. she was... umm... tied up like a statue" said the tall warrior.

Sabeth snorted, "And you just left her there?"

Tamira turned away and started to walk off when another unicorn told Sabeth to knock it off before she gets in another fight and punished like she did with Dana. She turned around and looked at Sabeth coldly, "You got Dana punished?"

"That stupid mare hit me! She deserved to get tied up. I got punished for it too!" said an angry Sabeth.

Tamira stepped up to Sabeth who backed away from the larger female. "The next time Master Rahmor comes to drag one of us away, I'd like to see you try and stop him. Then you can talk. Until then, shut the fuck up or I will do it for you."

Dana watched Sabeth mutter and toss her braided mane before saying, "Your not worth it." and wandering off.

"More like she knows Tamira could stuff her horn up her own ass if she wanted too" said one of the unicorns watching.

Dana let out a giggle, the tension leaving her and she smiled at Tamira. "About time you told her off" she said.

Tamira shrugged, "I do feel bad and guilty about not being able to do a damn thing about the raid. But enough is enough." She slowly walked to the front of the cave to look out at the sky, Dana following behind her.

Dana stood beside her, looking out at the dawn as well. She tried to ignore the smell coming from her friend. Eventually she asked, "So. Was it... bad?"

Tamira snorted a bit, "Well I don't like him any better than I did before, that's for sure. But... it was not as bad as it could have been I think. I imagine he was doing his best to, umm, seduce me maybe. He wanted me for something but I turned him down."

Dana leaned back and said aghast, "Turned him down? What did he do?" She looked over Tamira again for signs of any missed injuries.

Tamira chuckled and swished her tail, "No, I didn't get beaten. He wanted me to turn on my own kind. He said he wanted me to do it willingly and that I could decide for myself. Offered lots of rewards if I did. Of course I told the..." she paused and leaned close to whisper, "...the little shit no."

Dana stifled a giggle at the whisper, the secret insult feeling like a mighty blow against her hated Master. "What did he want you to do" asked Dana, now curious.

"Be one of his guards. Punish slaves when he wanted. Fight slaves of other owners in some weird ritual combat." She spat, "I swore to protect furries from things like this, and he expects me to beat them on command?"

"Oh" she said and sat silently for a while, thinking. After a few moments she said softly, "If it came to that, I'd want you to be the one to beat me."

Tamira looked at her, shocked. "What? Why?"

"Because if you are the one to deal out punishments I can trust you will do only as much as it takes to satisfy him, and no more. I'm sure you know that the idea of unicorns being pure and true is not exactly correct. We have our bad apples too. I have seen some of them at work. And that cat guard.. she loves to hurt or humiliate us as often as she can. I'd much rather have you watching over us than her."

"I don't know... it just seems so wrong. I'd be betraying my oath to protect."

"If you don't do it, someone else will. I think it's obvious why our Master wants you. You will kick some serious ass in whatever task he sets you on. He wants your strength, but he is also going to get your sense of justice and fairness."

Tamira swallowed and looked away, "I couldn't ever hurt you, Dana."

Dana scooted around to face the warrior, "Yes you could, and you will. You swore to serve. To do the hard thing, not the easy one. This will be hard, but you will do it because it's the best of many lousy choices."

Tamira said, "I'll think about it.. thats all I can promise."

Dana leaned over to hug her friend. "Good."

Tamira blushed at the hug and squirmed a bit, "Come on.. I'm a mess. I'll rub some of it off on you."

Dana smiled and sat back.

They sat silently and watched the goings on down in the valley of the dragons city for some time as the sun warmed them.

Later in the afternoon they were startled by a commotion at the back of the cave. "Oh Telly!" a voice called out.

Dana and Tamara got up and headed back with the other unicorns to see what the fuss was about. Pushing through the crowd they saw Telly kneeling on the floor crying, hands held between her legs. There was blood on her thighs and her hole body was shaking.

Tamara helped several other mares gently pick Telly up and carry her away from the guards, setting her down as gently as they could while she sniffled and whined.

"What did he DO to you...?" asked a wide eyed mare.

Dana recognized her as the one who was always far too interested in getting details out of anyone brought back. She moved to stand between her and Telly, blocking her view and questions.

"Hey, I was talking to..." the blocked mare started.

"Shut up Maegan" said Sabeth with disgust. "Can't you see shes hurt? I swear you have the manners of a mule!"

Dana for once was grateful for Sabeth being such a bitch and turned her attention back to the poor unicorn on the ground in front of her.

"I'm afraid... help me?" whined Telly.

A mare was kneeling down beside the stricken girl now, stroking her face, "Just tell us what you need."

Telly sniffed and looked at her, then spoke. "He.. he did that thing with his.. his... he made it sharp. Oh it hurt so much!" She shivered and rocked, now being hugged on both sides by mares trying to comfort her. "He... he said I'll have his eggs now! I don't want to!" She brushed at her stomach like she was trying to get something off of it. She moaned again, trying to forget the terrible rape.. the feel of the dragons spines going sharp while he was deep inside her.. his hot breath against her neck as he pinned her to the bed.. the smell of the female dragons sex as she cried and screamed, her muzzle trapped between the strong scaly thighs.

Oh no thought Dana. He said he would do this, but poor Telly.. she is such a sweet thing.

The unicorns at her side whispered comforting things to Telly, but everyone knew there was nothing to be done. Eventually all but a small group of her friends left, muttering and talking in quiet voices.

Tamara looked angry and upset. "I was there this morning. I should have tried to bring her back with me."

Dana felt terrible about the poor girl, but shook her head, "He wouldn't have let you. Probably would have done even worse to punish you for asking."

Tamara said, "I still should have tried. Shouldn't have left her there."

"You KNOW you couldn't have done anything, Tamira. Can you imagine what would have happened if I stood up when he took you three and told him to leave you all alone?"

Tamira winced and said, "Don't even think about doing that!" She then sighed and nodded, "I get your point. But I still feel terrible."

"We all do... watching someone taken away.. not knowing if they will return, and when they do, seeing the result of his.. his.. playing."

Tamira was about to promise Dana that she wouldn't let anything happen to her, but both of them would know it for the lie it was. She indeed might have some small amount of leverage with the dragon, but not enough to stop him from having his fun. She was trying to think what to say when she noticed Maegan had settled down behind her, trying a bit to hard not to look like she was listening in. She leaned closer to Dana and stage whispered, "Let me tell you the rest of the things our Master did to me..."

Dana huhed under her breath, wondering where that came from. She didn't really WANT to know any details. She was about to say so when she also noticed Maegan as she scooted closer.

Tamira let out a snort and turned to aim an angry gaze at Maegan. "If you like seeing your own kind get raped and tortured so much, why don't you ask that dragon to let you watch next time! Maybe he takes requests!"

Maegan stammered and shrunk back from the angry warrior. "I... but... no... I don't!"

"Right. It's pretty obvious that you get turned on when he brings one of us back." said Tamira with a glance down at Maegan's chest, her nipples poking through.

"It's not like that." protested Maegan. "I don't want him to hurt any of you!" She covered herself with an arm in embarrassment.

"Then why do you keep bothering his victims?" interrupted Dana.

Maegan bit her lip nervously, looking around behind her at the others and scooted closer. "Please.. please believe me, I don't like it that he hurts you. I just.. I just want to know."

Tamara and Dana just looked at her and shook their heads in disbelief.

Maegan continued hesitantly, "I'm not a bad unicorn. I don't want him to be hurting you. No.. I really wish that he would.. would... take me instead."

Dana looked horrified, "You WANT him to rape you?"

"No! But... don't tell the others.. but I kinda.. well.. umm.. used to have my boyfriend.. err... tie me up?" she finished weakly.

Tamira snorted and made a fist, "So you DO like seeing us come back all abused..."

"No no no! I just... I wanted to know what sort of things he did. I thought.. maybe if I went willingly he might not be so mean to me... and everyone else. But I was afraid to say anything to him.. maybe it would just make him hurt me more..." She wrung her hands in her lap now, looking embarrassed and ashamed.

Dana signed and put a hand on Tamira's shoulder, "Ok.. I think she is little messed up, and rather insensitive, but it can't be easy for her. Maegan... don't bother anyone anymore, ok?"

Maegan nodded glumly, "I didn't realise how much it was bothering everyone. I'll back off." She stood and left the two mares alone again.

Tamira snorted again, "How can anyone LIKE being beaten and raped and told what to do?"

Dana shrugged, "At least it's better than her wanting to do the beating and ordering. Hey.. why did you join the military if you didn't like being told what to do?"

"Well thats different!" she protested. "It's not the same at all you see."

Dana didn't see, but didn't like the whole subject. She WAS a slave and didn't need to talk about it too! She dropped into silence and glanced at the rest of the mares. They were all subdued now after Telly's return. Everyone knew the dragon could come back at any time. Any one of them could be next. Yet there was nothing they could do but wait.
