This is a work of fantasy with a leveling system written into the story along with title affects. This story is mean to be an out-left for me and all comments are welcomed be they good or bad.
Exposition
James sighed as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. James smiled as he looked at his crop fields of potatoes, corn, and watermelons. Past the fields was a long row of wild plum trees James had grown from the seeds found in the forest. With a smile, he leaned on his hoe. Nodding his head, James stood back straight up and threw the hoe over his shoulder. He smiled as he looked over his crops and was happy for the break from his quests as an adventure. James was one of the few humans that lived in this country. His name has started to get around with the nobles.
"I need to get home, Emerald should be home from the market soon."
James started to walk home and listened to all the sounds around him.
"Hey, James."
James looked up and saw a female griffon flying overhead. James waved to her as he walked over to the water well. James set his hoe against the stones and pulled the bucket up. Taking a drink, James started to think.
'With the price these nobles are paying for these years' sweet potatoes and russets potatoes harvest, we could buy more land from the local lord or I could build a bigger house. I'm so glad I bought those bags before I was brought here.'
"Lost in thought again?"
James looked over and saw his wife, Emerald, sitting on the porch swing. Blinking, James looked at her. He wondered when she'd gotten home. She had her long black hair down, a white blouse, and a black dress skirt. James smiled as he looked at his wife's beautiful light purple eyes. James saw the brown outline of her chest fur from the middle of the untied top of her blouse. He smiled as he looked at her face's soft black and brown fur.
"Can we talk James?"
"This is unusual for you. Is something wrong, Emerald?"
James sat beside her, and she moved close and rested her head on James's shoulder. Emerald nodded as she looked out over the fields. Her tail tapped against the wood of the swing.
"No, I was just thinking. We've been married for a year and our farm is getting so big. I know you can handle the size as it is but maybe we should hire some workers or have some pups."
James blushed as he turned and saw Emerald smiling at him. James laughed as Emerald's top opened a little more.
“You do know it's not easy for humans and beastmen to have kids."
Emerald laughed as she lifted her head off James's shoulders and smiled as she stood up.
“I guess we'll just have to try a lot."
James laughed a little more before he stood up and pulled Emerald into a kiss. Emerald hummed as the kiss broke.
“Good boy. But, save some of the passion for later. You get your treat after you finish the day's work.~"
James smiled as Emerald swayed her hips as she entered their home. James laughed as he leaned back into the swing, thinking of his past.
New world chapter one
James a nineteen-year-old college student struggling with a minor in construction carpenter with a major in infrastructure construction. James sighed as he left the grocery store. He stood tall at an even six-foot with an above-average athletic body for a baseball player. He had curly, dirty blonde hair with bright blue eyes. He had on a pair of blue jeans with a form-fitting black shirt. In his hands were four bags full of the gardening supplies he'd bright for his mother. On his back was his backpack with a metal bat and a maple wood bat he carried home from his team's practice with two bags of potatoes. James sighed as he walked down the street, trying to remember what his next exam was about. He closed his eyes and sighed as he unknowingly walked under a bridge. A dim light shined, but James didn't notice as he walked forward with his eyes close. But stopped when he felt something brush against his leg, and his eyes snapped open.
"What the?"
James saw a bush and blinked before he looked around. He was suddenly in a very dense forest. James turned and saw a broken-down stone arch resembling an old church arch. James dropped the bags as he looked at the old stonework.
"What the hell!?"
James looked around, trying to figure out what was going on. He grabbed his backpack, ripped the zipper open, and grabbed his phone. But, once he turned it on, there was a blue screen. A second later, the screen turned back before not turning on anymore. After a few seconds of frustratingly trying to get the phone to work, he heard a voice.
"Please choose a main class and a secondary class."
James jumped, dropping his now useless galaxy. He looked around as he pulled out his metal bat.
"Please choose a class."
"Class!? What the fuck do I look like? A fucking warrior or soldier to you!?"
A bluish-green color screen appeared in front of James.
'Congratulations, you have been awarded the title of a great adventure by combining the classes of warrior and soldier. You will gain a permanent percentage boost of ten percent of stats. A fifty percent boost for experience until first rank up.'
"What the hell?"
James tapped the screen, and a set of stats appeared.

Two skills available skill
Heavy hitter: Using this skill with all your strength, you can deal a critical blow on an enemy or monster. But at the cost of lowering defense for an hour.

James was surprised as he looked at the screen. James couldn't help but think this was like a video game or one of those animes. Throwing his hand to the side, the screen vanished. James looked around, the bat still in hand. Sighing, unsure what was happening, James rushed to put the phone away and put the backpack back on. James grabbed the bag and then sighed before he started to walk.
'I need to find a place to hold up. I got food, at least. But I don't have a way to cook the potatoes. At least I have a couple bags of jerky.'
James started to jog through the forest. James was so glad for his years of endurance and strength training. As he jogged, James looked around to find a cave or something. He was a little worried since he didn't have a way to make a fire.
"AH!"
James stopped dead when a scream that sounded like it came from a young girl. Without thinking, James took off at a full run, rushing forward. James, without thinking, dropped his bags and backpack as he burst through the trees and onto a dirt road. James slid on the dirt used to the action. He stopped and saw an old carriage he had seen in a movie once. In front of him was a horse-drawn carriage. James saw five people with what he thought was a very well-made wolf face mask. On the ground in front of them was a man, if he had to guess. He had a head full of white hair. James, full of rage, thought that was attacking an older man, raised his bat, and charged the five. The five were stunned as he got close and swung the bat down as he screamed at them.
"THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU!?"
James jumped and used his weight to deal a devastating blow to the biggest one's right rib cage. He coughed as he flew to the ground from the strength of James's blow. James was sure he'd broken some of his ribs but didn't stop as he turned and nailed another square in the side of his head. His bat making a ping on contact. He flew down to the ground and slammed his head on the ground. James looked at the last three, and they all looked at him with fear. James stood between them and the guy on the ground. The other three looked like they'd be much younger.
"Get lost!"
They did as James said, grabbing the two on the ground. They started dragging them back into the forest. James huffed as he rested his bat on his shoulder.
"DADDY"
James looked down at the girl's voice and was shocked. The small girl looked like a mix of a white German shepherd and a human girl. She had the face of a shepherd. She was covered head to toe, full of white fur, long hair, and a short snout. He had paws on the ground with what looked like leather foreleg wraps. She was dressed in what looked like one of those noble-looking gowns from the thirteenth century. It was a dress covered in fancy lace and a bright red color with red gloves on her hands.
"Daddy!?''
James looked at the body on the ground and saw a grown male version of the young girl. He was dressed in a set of formal-looking clothes. It was a dark red color with the same leather wraps on, but on his face was a deep scar going down the side of his face. James dropped the bat and started to look over him. He had some blood coming from his mouth, and James started to check around his head. He groaned, and James smiled.
"Is my daddy okay!?"
James looked at the girl and then lo the little girl.
"I think he's just knocked out, sweet heart but we need to get help are we near a town?"
She nodded as she looked at her, and James noticed her eyes were bright sky blue, like husky eyes.
"I don't think so. My family lives farther north of this place. We were coming back from my uncle's lands. The servent who was driving our carriage ran once those bandits showed up."
James nodded as the older dog, or wolf, James wasn't sure, was coming back around. James decided to get him out of the sun. James wrapped his arms under his arms and then dragged him into the shade of a tree. James leaned him against a tree, and the girl held onto his pants as he stood up.
"Mister?"
James smiled down at her.
"My name is James, little lady. Now, I need to grab my bags I'll be right back."
"Okay, and my name is Margaret Bohun of the house of Bohun."
James nodded and guessed these must be nobles of some kind. James grabbed his bat, ran as fast as he could, and got to his bags quickly. He threw the backpack onto his back and then grabbed the grocery bags. Rushing back, James was happy to see the wolf holding his daughter. James saw he had two golden eyes. James decided to call them wolfs from now on, seeing both had eyes like wolfs or huskies. They looked up at James, and Margaret smiled as she moved away from her father and hugged my legs. James laughed as he patted her back.
"I told you I'd be back."
"Sir."
James looked at the wolf as he stood up. James set his bat on his shoulder, the bags of potatoes hanging on the bat.
"Yes?"
The older wolf got to his paws and spoke.
"Sir, James. I'm the Duke of the Western territory Sir Wildfang Bohun head of house Bohun. I'm sorry to ask this, but our servant left us, and he had the only weapon we had. We are not too far from the border if you'd help us to our home then I'll offer you a small plot of land and a house as thanks for save us."
James heard the voice again.
'Unique quest available. Help the Duke of the Western territory return home safely. As a reward, you will be granted three hundred gold and five hundred experience.'
James smiled as he held his hand out to the Duke.
"Well, Sir Wildfang I don't have many other places to be some sure."
Sir Wildfang shook James's hand, then he put Margaret in the carriage, and James put his stuff on the carriage floor. Then sat down beside Sir Wildfang, bat in hand, as Sir Wildfang got the horse going again.
"So, what is a human doing in a beast kingdom? Why leave one of the bigger human countries for a smaller beast kingdom?"
James was quiet for a minute before he sighed and spoke from his new reality.
"I don't have any family left so..."
Sir Wildfang seemed to take it the way James wanted.
"I see, well allow me to formally welcome you to the great beastman kingdom of the east. Hopefully, you can build a better home here."
James laughed a little as he leaned back into the carriage wall.
"Well do you have any trade skills?"
"Ya, can read, write, do advanced math, and I was learning to be a carpenter to become an infrastructure construction manager. But, as of now, I don't know what I will do."
James saw Sir Wildfang smiling as he looked at him.
"Well, I'm glad to hear all that, and I'll give you work if you'd like. I only have a few educated hounds and griffons in my territory."
James gave that some real thought as they rode down the dirt road.
"I don't know, to be honest. I never was one for big crowds or the intrigue of the world of nobles. If you need more help, I'm happy to help you with some heavy work or paperwork. I could help with some of the least important stuff.
Sir Wildfang smiled as he looked at James.
"That's so nice! Daddy, Mommy will be so happy to have more time with you!"
James smiled as she looked back at Margaret as she looked at his through a window beside him.
'Sir Wildfang's respect for you has increased by twenty. You are now seen as a new friend. Margaret's respect for you has increased but seventy. You are now seen as a great human in her eyes.'
James heard a ding before the voice came back again.
'New title acquired puppies idle has been obtained. This title comes with the passive skill puppies charm. You will have a passive bonus effect with respect of young puppies. This will significantly increase your overall respect static with the population around you as time passes.'
James patted Margerat's head, making her laugh.
"Well, if you're willing to do heavy work, why don't I help you become my adventurer? Given you saved us from the bandits, you can handle yourself."
James nodded as he heard the sound of clanking metal. Sir Wildfang pulled on the reins. James and Sir Wildfang got ready for a fight. Margaret threw James's wooden bat out, and Sir Wildfang had it and was ready to fight this time.
"Sir Wildfang!"
James smiled as he saw soldiers coming up fast on horseback. James took the chance to look over the large group of wolves. Most were in light metal armor, and James could see most had darker fur. The three primary colors were brown, black, and grey. James also noticed that some looked more human while others looked more like dog breeds. Some looked like Dobermanns and Huskies, and some even looked like Rottweilers. The males seemed to have more dog-like features, and James noticed that the females seemed to be a little smaller and had more human-like features. James could see they had smaller shouts and frames and smaller paws and hands than the males. James sighed before he rested his bat on his shoulder as Sir Wildfang leaned on the bat as he spoke with the soldiers.
'Best to leave them before now. If this is like a game, then an asshole and his or her goons will show themselves soon.'
James jumped when he felt a hand grab onto his pants leg. James looked down and saw Margaret standing there. She looked up at James with a smile on her face. Moving her hand from his pant leg, she held her hands up at James. With a smile, James set his bat on the carriage seat and picked up Margaret. Margaret happily wrapped her arms around James's neck as she sat in James's arms. The soldiers seemed to be staying calm as they looked at Margaret as she rubbed her head on James's cheek.
'Hm, that puppies idle does work pretty well.'
James hummed as he walked around the carriage back to the door. Margaret hummed as she kicked her legs. James opened the door and set Margaret down inside the carriage.
"You wait here; once we get back to the territory, I'll carry you around all you want."
Margaret nodded as she sat back down on the seat.
"Sir ,James a word."
James looked back and Sir Wildfang and the soldiers. James grabbed his metal bat and rested it on his shoulder again.
"I guess were almost at your home."
Sir Wildfang nodded before he spoke up.
"Yes, and my troops have told me that the servant who ran was caught not too far after arriving at the city. But, as I was going to ask. I would like you to still guard us on our way home? My daughter has taken a great liking to you, and I do love to see her this happy."
James laughed and nodded as he held his hand out.
"Sure, but I'd like my wooden bat back, please."
Sir Wildfang nodded and threw it over to James. Neither of them had any idea of the road this meeting would set them on.
