Some Time Alone

Redux yawned as he crawled out of bed after the fourth day in a row without no more than four hours a sleep a day. He turned his head to the right and he saw Keurin sleeping peacefully on his bed. To the sanitation workers, he explained what they are suppose to clean during a certain part of the day and how to clean some of the crazy tall machines carefully and want chemicals to use because some of the chemicals used are only meant to be use in case of an chemical spill.

To the cooks of the factory, he taught them the order of sequence that they most cook the corn and what spices to use for the week and as well, how to put out a fire if one should happened. Since they were using grease to cook the corn, using water would only make the fire bigger and consume the building faster. Redux, however, knew how to stop the fire fast. He showed different methods but he always prefer the first one, which was just baking powered all over the fire. It was a lot less dangerous than any of the other methods like, putting a lid over the flame.

When Redux arrived at work and walked through the door, he was immediately over run by all his employees that had question. "Boss! Thank goodness your here, we need help. There something jammed in the machine and we don't know how to get it out." Redux nodded and had the employees show the way to the machine. As soon as he got it unjammed, he walked back to his office but as soon as he got in, he was called out again. He had to go to the warehouse to help workers find boxes and bags for the packers and also what they needed to order so they don't ever take a day off waiting for supplies.

It took Redux about three hours but he finally got some time to himself and relax a little from all the craziness that has been brought upon him. He rest his head on the desk for a second, trying to recovering from the lack of rest, and just when he thought everything was fine, he heard his phone ringing. He groaned and tiredly reached for the phone and answer it. "Hello, thank you for calling Corn Nuts, how may I help you?"

"Redux! It is you!" The stranger responded on the other side of the phone.

Redux was shocked as he heard the familiar voice.....it was his old manger of sanitation. "Hey Nick. Sorry I can't talk for long, all the new employees are always asking for help."

"Wait! Before you go, can you hire me? I didn't know that the old factory was rebuild and I could sure use a good job; I hate working at fast foods."

"YES! A million times yes. This job is getting to me, it too hard running all four departments and first and second shift. I need help, please come back."

"When do you want me to return?"

"I prefer now but since it so short notice I doubt that, so maybe tomorrow at about noon."

"I can be there now if you really need help. I can take over the sanitation and the cooks for you, so all you have to worry about is the packers in the factory."

"Thank you so much Nick. I've barley gotten any rest and I've been extremely stressful. Right now is the only time I had free for the last three weeks."

"Wow, you need help badly. I'll be there in about a couple minutes. Tell your workers that I will be taking over sanitation and the chefs."

"I will, just get here soon, I will tell security to let you in when you get here. I will tell everyone the news and get them ready for your arrival."

He looked around and looked for the time. It was just about noon, and Keurin wanted to help Redux relax when he gets home. Keurin quickly made the bed and got dressed to go outside and get some items he was gonna need tonight. He walked down the stairs and walked to the newest stores to buy some chocolate and other gifts for Redux. He returned home fast and quickly got everything ready the night when Redux returns home. "I tried my best to give them the basic. If I was only in charge of them, I would have done better but since I had to take control of the whole factory by myself, I just taught them the basic."

"I will get them to the back to the original level that we had the old employees themselves."

"Thank you Nick, I will send the other group here in about five minutes."

"Alright, I will work fast here."

Redux walked back into the office and he looked out the window and saw that things were started to get into a smooth, steady rhythm. He looked at the production they had for the day so far and was amaze at how they were ahead of his prediction already. He couldn't believe that they were ahead already. He looked back out the window and saw that his employees were struggling but they were working hard.

Time flew by faster than it hard before now that Nick was there helping Redux run the factory and answering questions that were ask but soon there was an accident in the kitchen and a grease fire broke out and the fire keep growing. Redux quickly meet Nick in the kitchen and ask how the fire broke out. Before Redux could even ask, Nick pulled the fire alarm and everyone quickly ran outside. Once outside, Nick explained that a chemical spill caused the fire to start and if they were to put other chemical to natural the other chemical then it would cause the fire to grow bigger.

"What if you put baking powder on the fire, it works."

"But with that chemical it might not work"

"I'm not about to lose the factory again, there has to be a way."

"I'm sure the fire department know how. Let them take care of it, it their job anyways."

The firetrucks showed up and quickly rushed inside to and started to put of the fire while everyone but Redux returned home. Redux was force to stay to see the damage and see what they might need to reorder to the destruction of the fire.

~3 Hours later~

Redux was tired after all the work and he should have been home about three hours ago but because pf the work he needed to do and the orders they need to place including the new machines. He walked inside his room and turned on the lights. The first thing he notice was the candle on the table next and then he saw Keurin sleeping on the bed. After eating, the song could still be heard in the background, it switch from songs, that was meant to be one song. "Simple Gifts" with the first movement, "In Yonder Valley," then the second movement with, "Dance," the third movement with, "Here Take This Lovely Flower," and finally the last movement called, "Simple Gifts." Keurin loved the song and so did Redux, and during the second movement, Keurin and Redux started to dance with each other. Although the both of them didn't know how to dance all that well, they both tried.
