Fade To Black
Chapter 1
"A New Beginning"
Long ago in a land far away from the land now known as America there lived three brothers, the oldest, the middle, and the youngest. Unknowing to many people the three brothers were not of the human kind, in fact they were something much, much worse. Sucking the blood from the living allowed them to live on as they started to breed with others of their kind. Slowly the population grew and grew, but it all went crashing down on them once the humans found out what they really were, one by one their people were killed. Steaks plunged through their hearts, garlic burned their skin, and purified water kept them at bay. The three brother all retreated in separate directions with their mates in hope to find salvation else were. Many today consider this just a myth, but I assure you it's not, they are very real, and they have returned to undo what they did wrong so many centuries ago.
The sun rose high in the sky above the town of Saint Waterloo. The birds were chirping as people headed off to work and children headed off to school. The most prestigious school in the county was in fact Saint Waterloo High School, they held a very tight honor code to the faculty and students that filled the buildings and classrooms, "To learn is my duty, to have fun is a pleasure." It sounded silly but the principle, Dr. Halloway held it close to him. It was a very special day for him because is daughter Julie was just starting tenth grade at the high school. She left her previous school because of the numerous times guys tended to gang up on her, he knew she was beautiful but he didn't want anything bad to happen to her and with him looking over her he would make sure of that.
The bus smelled of air freshener and a slight aroma of nacho cheese filled the air as they approached the main building. One by one the bus doors opened allowing the students new and old to step off and head towards a new beginning. It seemed like a nice place, the halls were clean of any trash and the building was cooled down. She let out a deep sigh before heading north of the main office towards Algebra, that was before someone bumped into her, knocking her down to the ground.
"Sorry!" yelled the boy as he ran beside another boy who looked African American, both had book bags grasped in their hands as they ran towards the office,
Soon to follow two bulky guys followed, both knocking her down again..
"Geez, I thought this place would be a little more less insane."
"You will have to excuse my brother, he can be quite a nut at times."
Her eyes ran up seeing a girl with white hair and blue eyes holding a hand out for her.
"It's ok, why was he running from those two guys, did he do something to them?" she asked as she was pulled up.
"Sort of, he found their book bags full of porno magazines."
"So he took them?!"
"It's ok, trust me he's not a pervert, much, he's taking them to the principle. You might call him and his friend the rule upholders, by the way I'm Salena."
"I'm Julie, how long have you been here, you look younger than most people here."
She in fact did, she looked to only be five feet two inches and well, her body hadn't matured to a teenage girls level.
"Hmmmm, I would say about three years. My lunatic brother has only been here one year."
"Tenth grade?"
"Yep, but don't worry if you have him in any classes he won't be as wild. He's almost top of the class in all his classes. He may not look like it but he's smart."
"What about his friend?"
"You mean Jerel? He's pretty smart, he mainly makes Bs."
She let out a heavy sigh as she hung her head.
"Don't be gloomy, this school is pretty nice, just watch out for Josh, he loves girls with your looks."
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, she had Salena to help her, but she wasn't so sure about her brother and his friend.
"Well see ya." Salena said before running off towards her next class.
She waved goodbye before starting off towards her own class. Her heart was starting to slow down, it wasn't so bad, nothing has happened and she was at her first class. Only a few people were in the room, most of which were talking to friends. Her book bag landed on the ground before she took her seat in the middle of the rows of desks. Her eyes drifted from the clock to the door as more people started pouring in. It wasn't until two loud voices enter the room that she sat up straight.
"Hah! Suspended can you believe they got suspended?"
"Yeah, they'll be out of our hair for weeks!"
"Dude, the was, excellent!"
Of course, it was the two goofballs, Jerel and, wait Salena hadn't told her the name of her brother. They both marched down the rows before taking two seats beside her.
[Fun facts: When I was coming up with designs of the characters of Jerel and unknown boy I was having a hard time, so I said screw it and took two pictures of two of my best friends from high school and anime them up.
Originally this story was a romance story..... however after reading Twilight I then slapped myself, burned the book, and started thinking up new ideas.]
