This.... dear goodness, why did I write this? Sometimes every time I sit down and start writing I just don't know when to stop....

What you have here is a very large chunk of back-story surrounding every character of Dragon Ranch. This information has been built up in my mind over the months spent on each chapter, and I never really got around to explaining or detailing much of it because I was too busy writing tons of porn (lol). A shorter version of this thing has been on SoFurry for a while. Most (but not all) of this information is tucked away in the actual chapters in ways you wouldn't normally notice.... I like to allude and reference things rather than slapping readers over the head with paragraphs of back-story.

Oh, and this is adult rated due to in-depth descriptions of dragon anatomy and naughty behavior.

I don't expect a lot of people to read the whole thing except maybe all the really bored people out there. But regardless, have at it, if you wish!

THE CHARACTERS OF DRAGON RANCH:

Kyle.

Age: early 20s. Brown hair/eyes. Being invited to come work on his cousin's ranch after months of unsuccessfully looking for a job, Kyle has no previous experience in working with dragons. Wide-eyed and naive about his new line of work, Kyle is widely considered an unskilled, but well-meaning newbie by his co-workers. Kyle is technically not an actual dragon rancher, has no handler permit, and is not affiliated with any guilds or unions. The reason for this being that as per state regulations, dragon handlers need to be certified with at least six months of experience before they can handle dragons in training. Willing to stretch the rules for his cousin, Emily lets him come in to work under a short leash and close supervision. She pays him under the table in cash. However, she was adamant that Kyle adhere to the state minimum 40 hours of mounted riding practice (with at least 10 being in the air) before letting him fly unassisted.

If you asked him, Kyle would not identify himself as an animal person. He initially disliked the idea of working with dragons, being accustomed to thinking them as difficult, unlikable, and unemotional creatures. It was only after getting to know a few of the dragons on the ranch that he realized how intelligent, affectionate, and expressive they can be. Kyle quickly became attached to two of the dragons on the ranch, Relia and Nixi, viewing them as close companions. Kyle likes biking, napping, watching movies, and the occasional drink. He is a casual fan of the Denver Broncos. Kyle's parents live in Illinois.

Emily

Age: late 20s. Orange hair, blue eyes.

Emily is a hard-working and serious-faced dragon tamer who owns the ranch and can be described as a stereotypical farm girl in looks and temperament. Emily is a ginger, complete with frizzy orange hair and freckles. When she was little, Emily tried to stow away with her beloved Crestie, Dart, when her father reluctantly sold the dragon off to a wealthy exotic pet enthusiast. Emily loves working with dragons and treats the creatures with a lot of respect and reverence. She takes her job seriously and it irks her when her co-workers (especially her cousin Kyle) treats her dragons more like pets than the dangerous creatures they are. Emily has a well-developed sense of responsibility and views everything on the ranch as under her control. She is without a doubt the hardest working on her ranch as well, and is not afraid to get dirty either. Emily's mother divorced her father when she was young to marry another man, and several years later, her father passed away in an unfortunate accident. Emily does not keep in contact with her mother, harboring resentment over what she views as betrayal. She tends to treat Kyle as sort of a younger brother due to the combination of blood relation the fact that Kyle is very much still learning his job.

No one knows if Emily has ever experimented with a dragon before. At the very least, she seems to have an idea that sexual human-dragon interactions might occur on her ranch, but declines to acknowledge or talk about it.

Ethan

Age: late 20s. Blond hair, blue eyes.

Ethan is a laid-back and easy-going rancher. He worked with horses before coming to Emily's ranch. Ethan fashions himself as a modern cowboy, even down to the boots and hat. Ethan speaks with a bit of a southern drawl, having been born and raised in Texas. Ethan likes to drink, hunt, and is very good at poker as well. Ethan also smokes marijuana, but tends to keep that secret to himself. Despite his rustic persona, Ethan keeps up with technology. He loves to listen to music with his phone and earbuds during the work day. Ethan playfully teases Emily by calling her "Ma'am", which she resents as it makes her feel old. Ethan likes working with dragons, and due to his former experience with horses, is a capable trainer. Ethan is left handed.

Ethan has no qualms about engaging in occasional sex with dragons of either gender, finding the fact that they're dragons to be more important than what's between their legs. Ethan is partial to the male Black-crested Sable named Glycon, and prefers to spend time with him the most. Glycon was the dragon that first opened Ethan up to the idea of human-dragon relations. Glycon and Ethan had enjoyed each other many times before Kyle first came to the ranch. Ethan has since then also been with Iris and Kobal, two Yellowtail Garls.

Rachel

Age: Early 30s. Black hair, brown eyes.

Rachel is sexy, playful, teasing, and attractive who looks younger than her age. Rachel has worked on the ranch years before Emily's father had passed away, and has known Emily for a long time. After the accident, she offered to move in with her to help Emily manage the transition through the difficult situation. Emily agreed, feeling uncomfortable with being the only one living in the large ranch-house she and her father used to share. The two girls have since then been living together, though in a purely platonic relationship. Rachel is widely regarded as a talented dragon handler by her peers and is "second in command" on the ranch. Rachel adores dragons and tends to baby them, often talking to them in high-pitched "cutesy" voices. She is in a long term relationship with Jake, another employee on the ranch.

Rachel has experimented with Relia twice, with the first time also being with Jake.

Jake

Age: Late 20s. Brown hair, brown eyes.

Jake is serious and stern, but opens up to those he is comfortable with. Jake used to work as a veterinary technician at an animal hospital before meeting Rachel. The two met when Emily was forced to call the animal hospital after two Black-crested Sables (one being Relia) became injured in a fighting bid for alpha status among the rest of the Cresties. The two began dating and eventually Rachel convinced him to start putting hours into the ranch directly. They have been together for almost two years and are busy trying to figure out the details of their long-term future before they decide to tie the knot. Part of the problem is housing, as Jake shares an apartment and Rachel lives in Emily's house, and neither can move in with the other (as Emily feels uncomfortable at the idea of sharing her house with a married couple). Jake played football in highschool and college and still keeps in very good shape to this day. On the ranch, Jake is considered the unofficial medic for both human and dragon needs, due to his history of working in an animal hospital. Jake is far-sighted and keeps a case containing reading glasses in his pocket.

Long before Kyle arrived on the ranch, he and Rachel were accosted by Relia when they were bathing the dragon in the outside showering stalls. The two knew Relia was in heat and antsy, and this was not the first time she had come on to the pair. But due to the dragon's insistence, and the convenience of the location, the couple decided to experiment with her in the showering stall. Both felt ashamed and embarrassed afterward and did not explore beyond their one time (However Rachel recently did experiment with Relia again shortly before the dragon left the ranch). The pair did note that Relia had warmed up to both of them considerably afterward the event.

Aden

Age: mid 70s. Brown/gray hair, blue eyes.

Aden has been working with dragons long before Emily and Kyle were born. He, Carl (Emily's father), and Paul were originally the three main dragon tamers on the ranch. Aden stayed after Carl's death, offering his help to Emily as she took up the responsibility of managing the ranch herself. Now old and grizzled with a graying beard, Aden only comes in a couple times a week to help with things along the ranch and check up on how things are doing and isn't seen very often. Emily always appreciates his help. Aden should be retired by now, but continues to work part time due to the fact that he has a dwindling savings account and can't afford to stay retired. Everyone on the ranch respects Aden's knowledge of dragon handling.

Carl

Age: deceased. Hair/eyes: NA

In her late teens, Emily inherited the ranch from her father, Carl, after an unfortunate accident involving an out-of-control dragon that accidentally took his life. Carl loved dragons with a passion. He was very laid-back and casual about dragon handling, even letting them come up to (and sometimes inside) the house, fed his dragons by hand, and often went flying without a harness or saddle. Carl put much faith in the bond between he and his dragons. Though his death was an accident, Emily blames her father for being too lax about safety and not respecting his dragon's temperament and aptitude for violence and disobeying orders. It is a touchy subject with the ranch owner to this day. Her father's death and the way it affected her is big reason why Emily is strict about safety and critical about how people handle dragons on her ranch, frequently reminding her employees of how dangerous and temperamental the creatures really are. This sometimes gets on her co-workers nerves, however no one will press the issue out of respect to her and her late father.

Paul

Age: mid 50s. Brown hair/eyes

Paul is a second generation American of Egyptian decent with extensive knowledge of dragon handling who worked with Aden, Emily, and Carl for many years. After the incident that ended Carl's life, Paul left the ranch to accept a management position at a large dragon breeding facility in Arizona. Paul is a stocky, short, balding, and boisterous man with a loud laugh and many stories. He has a son, Silas, who by contrast is skinny and quiet. Silas, who is attending college for a degree in law, resents his father's quirky and somewhat embarrassing career choice of a dragon breeder. He generally wants nothing to do with dragons, but gets dragged to the occasional trip or project where his father tries to get him to bond.

There is an endangered species breeding program for Yellowtail Garls. The program is a region-wide effort run by the national Dragon Breeders Guild to increase low Yellowtail populations. Paul, being a breeder, invested much time and effort into the program, orchestrating a massive number of contacts and ranches to register their Yellowtails. When Paul contacted Emily for the program, the latter asked if she could have some of her other dragons (including Relia and Mitka) bred as well. This personal favor was technically illegal as Paul would be doing this with trailer equipment and gas money provided by his job. It would be suspicious if Paul returned from Emily's ranch bringing back more than just Yellowtails. Still having close ties to Emily through her father, Paul agreed on the condition that he could buy a few dragons off of her to increase his facility's dragon stock so that he could write off the trip and breeding efforts as work-related expenses.

This agreement set in motion the events that dominate the latter half of the dragon ranch story. In the end, Paul took all five Yellowtails to be bred. Emily also requested a number of her dragons to be bred, including Relia, Glycon, and Mitka. Paul also bought a male and female of each of Emily's three species of dragons. Of those six, only Nixi was identified in the story.

THE DRAGONS OF DRAGON RANCH:

RELIA

SPECIES INFO: Relia is a species of dragon called a Black Crested Sable. A Sable is a genus of mountain-dwelling dragons, of which there appear to be multiple species. Like all dragons, they are warm blooded despite their reptilian appearance, which allows them to sustain a metabolism capable of producing the energy required for active flight. Black-crested Sables can and will live in temperate climates, even being able to tolerate snow, provided they have suitable shelter to hibernate in. The "crest" of any Sable is large, raised section on the top of the head made of flat, chitinous armor plates that sweep backward in an attractive curve. For this species, the crest shows off vivid black shading with dark red edging. It is a sexually dimorphic (gender-specific) trait, and in this case, only males display the crest. The crest forms upon sexual maturity and lets the males display their virility to other members of their species. Black Crested Sables normally live solitary lives unless mated. Males stay with the female until the hatchlings begin to fly. When food and shelter is abundant, Black Crested Sables can come together to form large colonies ruled by one "Alpha", which may be either male or female, chosen by dominance. Females are called matriarchs, and males, patriarchs.

"Cresties", as they are affectionately called, have a fondness for goat and pig meat, which is their natural prey. In the wild, Cresties stalk their food from the air and dive bomb, aiming to knock out or kill the prey with the initial hit. If still alive, they latch on with their sharp claws and go in for the kill with their teeth. Like most dragons, they do not actually use fire to hunt or kill, only to intimidate. Wild Cresties have been known to kill and eat humans in extreme circumstances, though they do not actively hunt them and prefer to avoid contact. Cresties are distrusting by nature and often show a gruff, stern personality to humans, though proper training and a certain level of trust will bring out their more mellow, gentle side. Cresties can be rather loyal, laid back creatures once a trust of humans has been built up. They can be quite an intimidating species of dragon and are known to growl, snort fire, and put on other displays of aggression if displeased. Cresties like to be stroked on their snout, chest, and rump and do not like their wings and horns touched. Like many dragons, they are consummate groomers and like to keep their bodies clean and free of grime.

Cresties are common beasts of burden on many dragon ranches, due to their hardiness, loyalty, and ideal size. They can also be readily trained to accept mounted riders with little fuss, provided trust exists between the human and dragon. As such, Cresties are popular riding dragons, especially for those unwilling or unable to to handle the larger, more difficult-to-control species. However, it comes at a price, as Cresties cannot fly with the extra weight of a rider. A properly trained Crestie is hard working, laid-back, and fiercely loyal.

TORSO: Relia is a full-grown female about the size of a small horse, with her shoulders coming up to a human's midsection. Her neck is of average length for a dragon. Relia has a stocky, thick, muscular body with bumpy and ridged scales on top. These top scales are a very dark gray, almost like charcoal. These rough scales do a transitional color fade to her underbelly color. Her underbelly is light smoky gray, with smooth, pebbly skin. She does not have any banded scale plates. This lighter color continues down most of her tail and completely up her neck. Relia has a line of spines trailing down her head, neck, and upper back that stop at about the shoulders, in the spirit of a horse's mane. They are pointed and stand up. The tips look sharp, but the spines are actually quite flexible, and have webbing between them. The spines are black and the webbing is dark red and move with the dragon's emotions, fanning out when angered or excited.

LIMBS: Relia's legs are strong, heavy, and muscled. Her feet are large and powerful-looking, tipped with thick, black claws. She has a wide, muscular tail that is unadorned. The tip is narrow and limber enough to wrap around small objects. It is a whitish, smokey gray and smooth on the underside. Her limbs are colored light gray on the inside of her thighs. Relia's hips and thick thighs lead to an almost horse-like rear with defined buttocks, albiet with a thick tail and stockier, more muscular legs. Her rump sits under her tail, creating a curve where her crotch begins, instead of the tail being flatly connected to her belly like many lizards. Relia's tail is prehensile and she can grasp, wrap, and pick things up with her limb. The tip is narrow and limber enough to wrap around small objects.

WINGS: Relia's wings are dark gray and she has fully formed dactyls ("wing hands"). The inside of her pagatium (wing membranes) are dark red and the claws are black. Relia's species are adept flyers but they are too small to take off with a mounted rider except with great difficulty.

HEAD: Relia normally looks proud, fierce, but at the same time feminine. Relia's irises are dark red and her pupils are oval. Her entire face is dark gray with a very light, smoky gray along her throat and under her chin. She has two straight, slightly curved horns that are black in color. They are smooth to the touch. Typical of many Cresties, Relia has no ears, instead having a reptilian tympanum. Her left horn is broken off at the tip by about two inches, having been lost in a long-forgotton tussle with another Crestie. A fracture runs down part of the horn, and a simple metal band has been shrink-fitted into place just under the snap to prevent the horn from cracking further. Relia has a mouth full of teeth, along with a thick, muscular tongue that is slightly pointed at the tip. Relia normally has a very stern and proud face, in similar vein of an eagle's expression. Relia has small, raised bumps and crags on her forehead and along her lower jaw line. These bumps would have grown into an armored crest had Relia been male. Relia, like most dragons, can readily breath fire, though her species prefers to use the tool to intimidate rather than to injure.

BEHAVIOR: Relia is quiet, grumpy, and distrusting. The Crestie is widely seen as a very difficult-to-control dragon, quick to aggression and stubborn to follow orders. Despite this, she does have a more mellow side, though it rarely comes out. Like most Cresties, Relia is direct and forward about her wishes. She's a dragon that knows what she wants and often decides to go out and get it herself. Even moreso compared to her species, Relia is very slow to trust humans and refuses most who try to ride, pet her, or control her. However, she has a clear loyalty to the few who the dragon has taken a liking to. Despite trust issues, Relia has an odd fascination with humans and finds their upright posture and various actions strange. The dragon is known to watch human behavior purely out of curiosity. Relia finds humans difficult sometimes and pays close attention to their facial expressions to read them, occasionally staring straight into their faces from up close. Relia understands a decent portion of human speech. Her animalistic behavior can mask her intelligence, and has been known to plot out actions in advance. Being often quite stern and unemotional, Relia is not always an easy-to-read dragon. She communicates with body language and expressions first and foremost, along with sounds such as chirps, growls, warbles, and trills. Relia shows affection through physical contact such as nuzzling and rubbing.

NAUGHTY BITS: Relia's crotch is smokey gray. She has a separated vagina and anus, which differs from some species of dragon (most notably being the eastern variety). Her scales get smaller and smoother as they near her crotch, leaving the area soft and supple. Her vagina is flush with her body and somewhat inconspicuous normally, but her outer lips swell and puff up when aroused, showing a noticeable sign of arousal. Relia also releases pungent pheromones when in heat. She has a large clitoris that is normally internal and pokes out from the apex of her slit when aroused. She gives off more than enough fluids which collect at her slit and even drip down during heat. Relia has powerful internal muscles that can massage and knead whatever lucky male she is mating with, making for a pleasurable fit even for anyone less endowed than a male Crestie. Her muscles automatically start a rhythmic, powerful wave of contractions just before and during climax. These motions "pull" the male in and encourage his seed to travel deeper inside her vent. Her climax can last minutes with the right stimulation. Her anus is fleshy and slightly protrudes. The dragon must be warmed up to tailhole play but will permit it if she is in the right mood.

NAUGHTY BEHAVIOR: Sexually, Relia is direct and forward, but she is not adverse to foreplay. Relia is very casual about inter-species sexual activity, even moreso than most dragons. To her, a human is just as valid of a partner as any dragon. Despite her normally gruff personality, the dragon can very expressive in reaction to pleasure. Relia loves to be stimulated by human hands and is a bit jealous of how articulate they are and how well humans use them. In fact, the dragon believes that human hands and lovemaking skills more than make up for the smaller girth of men compared to male Cresties. As previously mentioned, her tail is prehensile, and Relia is known to use her tail in foreplay to squeeze and feel up certain body parts. Relia also loves the scent of human musk and the taste of their fluids, often times being delighted to lap up semen from inside her slit or even taking a human in her mouth to get to the source, where she will use her jaws and tongue to knead and massage the male as she delivers a sucking pressure. Experience has taught the dragon that bobbing her head up and down is an effective tactic as well, though she finds the action unnatural to perform and does not prefer it.

Relia can be quite dominant at first glance, though she is merely a straightforward dragon and enjoys being a submissive partner. In fact, the dragon can be direct enough to pull you toward her rear with her tail and growl until you mount her. Relia has a kink in that she enjoys watching her partner and knowing they are being pleasured. She seems to have some penchant for intimacy during sex. To this end, Relia often likes to wrap her tail around her mate's torso or limbs during sex and foreplay to hold and squeeze them, as she likes the aspect of intimate touch. Relia likes to be bent over and taken by a rough dominant male, though this is hard for a human to do due to her larger size. Relia also enjoys being mated on her back, as the intimacy and vulnerability of the position plays to her kinks. Other positions are acceptable for her as well. Relia is known to plot out in advance with her tools of seduction to get what she wants. As a dragon that likes to study and watch humans, Relia will remember her mate's preferences and turn-ons and use them to her advantage. Relia can be compared to a killer cougar... the type you meet in a bar in a red dress, not the type you meet in the wilderness! She's there, sipping a martini, staring at you from across the room, plotting how to make her move.

NIXI

SPECIES INFO: Nixi is a species of dragon called a Yellowtail Garl. A Garl refers to several species of small water dragons that used to be common in tropical habitats, preferring to live near rivers, swamps, and ponds. They are now very endangered due to loss of habitat, pollution, and poaching of their colorful coat of scales. Yellowtails are so named due to their long tails which end in a vivid yellow hue. Yellowtail Garls are amphibious creatures and are great swimmers, capable of holding their breath for long periods of time. The species is warm blooded, which allows them the high metabolic rates necessary to sustain flight. Yellowtail Garls prefer to form small family groups ruled by a matriarch. Females are always the more dominant gender and choose their mates. Males may stay until the hatchlings can fly. After that, the female kicks the male out of her den. Males are slightly smaller in size and have less pronounced head frills. They also lack the swatch of blue on their snouts, but are otherwise similar to females in appearance.

Yellowtails are inquisitive, stubborn, energetic, and playful in disposition, and take easily to human interaction, provided lots of affection is involved. Due to their exuberant playfulness, the dragons must be kept occupied with toys while in captivity or will become restless. Nixi and her kind will take to various dog toys, including rawhide chews, and even some toddler and infant toys as well. They also love to splash around in water. Yellowtails, like most dragons, like to be stroked on their snout, chest, and rump and do not like their wings and horns touched. Yellowtails are active hunters in the wild and have been known to hide in grass reeds or under water in order to ambush their prey. Their coloring is natural camouflage. looking up from the water, they blend in with the sky above, and out of water their green blends in with foliage. They feed on water birds, fish, and small animals that come close to the water's edge to drink. If given a pond or stream to live near, they will hunt even in captivity, for the thrill of the chase. Like many dragons, they are consummate groomers and like to keep their bodies clean and free of grime. Despite being an aquatic dragon, they have many traits of land-dwelling dragons, most noticeably ears. They also lack the more alligator-like, streamlined body design of many aquatic dragons. Biologists suggest that Yellowtail Garls were originally land dragons that took to the water and adapted aquatic traits as their species evolved.

As an endangered exotic species, Yellowtails are kept on dragon ranches to protect and bolster their low population numbers. Many ranch-hands also enjoy the species as a sort of companion pet, though Yellowtails, like all dragon species, are widely considered too dangerous and unpredictable to be completely domesticated or live in-doors. A properly trained Yellowtail can be friendly, affectionate, and caring.

TORSO: Nixi is a full grown female about the size of a jaguar. Her shoulders are about the same height as a human's when on their hands and knees. Her neck is of average length for a dragon. Nixi has a sweeping, shapely torso that is streamlined with smooth, waxy scales. Her hide is vivid and colorful and gives the dragon an exotic appearance. Her scales are large and smooth to the touch. Their waxy coating makes them a slightly shiny. Her back is predominately a bold, aquatic green that has random, faded patterns of splotches and bands that are shaded blue with slight hints of purple. She has banded belly scales which are a vivid, sky blue. Nixi has a single webbed frill that starts at her head and travels the entire length of her body, all the way to the tail. The webbing is a bold, sky blue, while the spines are golden-yellow and tipped with bulbous ends.

LIMBS: Nixi's legs are strong and agile. Her limbs are covered in green scales that have occasional splotches of vivid sky blue. She has large paws that have blue webbing between the toes, which are tipped with dark gray claws. Her tail sits above her legs, giving dragon a shapely, almost mammalian rear with defined buttocks (as opposed to a purely flat, crocodilian crotch). Nixi's tail is the trademark of her species. The tail of a Yellowtail Garl is long compared to most other species. Their webbed, round-tipped frill travels down the length of the tail, and the tip ends in a flashy, golden yellow color. There is a leaf-shaped frill on the tail that is used as a paddle in the water or to display various emotions. It is larger on the top half than the bottom and can fold up when out of the water. The webbing is blue. WINGS: Like most Yellowtails, Nixi's wings are green. She has fully formed dactyls ("wing hands"). The inside of her pagatium (wing membranes) is sky blue, and her claws are dark gray. Being predominantly an amphibious species in a dense, tropical habitat, Yellowtail Garls are not very adept fliers, but can fly for short distances and glide well enough. Their wings are kept flush against the body while underwater to reduce drag.

HEAD: Nixi has a chipper, inquisitive look with expressive eyes and a mouth tucked into a slight smile. Her irises are golden-yellow and her pupils are round. Her throat, chin, and lower jaw are banded blue, while the top half of her head is green. Nixi has some deep blue scale plates running down the top of her snout and along her eye ridge. Her upper lip comes to a downward point and hangs over her lower jaw. Her body-long frill starts at the top of her head. She also has frills that run the curvature of her lower jaw. Like her other frills, they are blue with yellow spines which are tipped with soft, bulbous ends. Nixi has a small pair of elongated, conical ears which are quite expressive and move with her emotions. Like her frills, the ears have yellow-tipped bulbs on the lower half. The ears fold against the head while under water. Nixi has a pair of thick, slightly curved horns that are smooth to the touch and dark gray in color. She has a mouth full of teeth and a long, muscular tongue that ends in a somewhat pointed tip. Yellowtails can breath small bursts of fire, but are known to rarely use it.

BEHAVIOR: Nixi is cheerful, persistent, stubborn, and energetic. Many of these traits are shared with the species as a whole, but Nixi, being a dominant female matriarch, is much more aggressive and tenacious than other females. She can get jealous over outsiders giving attention to other Yellowtails in her colony, and has been known to bite and lash out at humans. Nixi is a very expressive dragon and communicates with verbal cues such as growls, warbles, churrs, and trills, along with visual cues from her eyes, ears, frills, and tail. She finds humans amusing and understands a bit more human speech than she would like you to believe. The dragon enjoys teasing and playful behavior, and can be quite affectionate to those she likes. Nixi has been known to use her forepaws in rather human-like ways, grasping and holding objects to examine them. Nixi shows affection through physical contact such as nuzzling and rubbing. The dragon has a knack for being cunning has been known to set traps and plot actions out in advance. Her animalistic behavior belies her intelligence. Nixi very much enjoys going for a ride in a truck or ATV. She likes to close her eyes and spread her wings in the wind.

NAUGHTY BITS: Nixi's crotch is covered in banded sky blue scale plates. She has a separated vagina and anus. Outwardly, her vagina appears to be a somewhat inconspicuous slit normally flush with her body. When aroused, her outer lips swell, puff up, and part slightly, showing pink inside. She will also emit noticeable pheromones when in heat. The dragon gives off ample lubrication, typical of her species. Nixi has a noticeable clitoris, which is normally internal and pokes out from the apex of her slit when aroused. Her vent also has powerful internal muscles that can massage and knead whatever male she is mating with. Because of this, she is a tight fit for any mate, dragon or human. These muscles contract in an automatic, rhythmic pulling motion just before and during climax to encourage the male to release his sperm and to facilitate the movement of his seed down into her womb. This is a shared trait between many species of dragon. Her climax can last minutes with the right stimulation. Her anus is fleshy and slightly indented. Nixi really enjoys occasional tailhole play and finds the area quite sensitive to stimulation.

NAUGHTY BEHAVIOR: Sexually, Nixi is quite a promiscuous dragon. She has been known to seek sex from both genders of dragons and humans. Nixi seems to be one of the rare dragons that will in fact seek out and prefer humans for sex rather than her own kind, much to the jealousy of male Yellowtails. If she is interested in sex, Nixi will let you know with trills and affectionate churrs, suggestive nudges, pawing, playful nips to your crotch, tugging on your clothes, and other ways to get your attention. Nixi is very expressive in reaction to pleasure, especially receiving oral pleasure, which the dragon appears to enjoy very much. Nixi also greatly enjoys the touch of human hands and their varied acts of foreplay, finding humans to largely be more satisfying lovers than males of her own kind. She especially enjoys the smell of male musk and fluids, even to the point where she will seek it out from the source or lap at her slit after sex. The smell and taste is a turn-on for her. When performing oral, Nixi will use her jaws and tongue in tandem to knead and massage the male in her mouth as she suckles. Experience has taught the dragon that bobbing her head is an effective tactic as well, though like Relia, she finds the action unnatural to perform.

Nixi is outgoing and not adverse to trying new things, including tailhole play and toy usage. Nixi in particular enjoys teasing and playfulness during sex. She has a kink in that she likes to stalk and seduce her mate, taking great pleasure in foreplay and teasing beforehand. Nixi enjoys putting on a show during foreplay, as she feels empowered by her ability to elicit arousal out of her partners. To this end, the dragon studies her mates and will remember their preferences and turn-ons to better toy with her lovers. She enjoys setting the pace and making the moves, coming on to her mates and often grinding, licking, nibbling, pawing, and doing other forms of physical touch to get them aroused. Nixi prefers to mate sitting on top of her partner, as this gives her control over the pace and plays to her dominant nature. Nixi can sometimes scratch and bite if she becomes too lost in the moment. Although a dominant dragon by nature, Nixi also enjoys a dominant partner, as she savors assertiveness in her partners, and can switch roles as need be. Nixi, however, does not like to be mated on her back, as the submissiveness of the position clashes with her dominant personality and makes her feel vulnerable. However, the dragon is willing to permit the position for Kyle, as a level of trust exists between the two. Nixi has since figured out that Kyle prefers the position and will allow it because of that.

Nixi also has an unusual attachment to the vibrating dildo that Kyle bought for her and Relia. She views the toy as "hers" and it irks her that Kyle will not let her keep it.

KOBAL:

Kobal is an adolescent male Yellowtail Garl. He is slightly smaller than Nixi, due to sexual dimorphism (gender differences). Being a male, his head frills are less pronounced than Nixi's. His build is slightly more limber and skinny, because the dragon has not fully reached maturity. Kobal also carries a more masculine face, being more angular and square, however this is balanced out by his youth and cheery expressions. His back pattern differs from Nixi. Being a male, his snout has no swatch of blue scales on top.. only a few sparsly-speckled patches. Other than that, his body differs little from Nixi's in overall appearance. (see Nixi's description for more detailed information on Kobal's appearance and his species information)

BEHAVIOR: Kobal is a submissive yet cheerful dragon, and is last on the pecking order of dominance among Yellowtails. He very chipper and playful, partly due to his adolescent exuberance, but acts skittish, timid, and passive when provoked or in unfamiliar situations. He is a pleaser by nature and is quick to obey. Kobal constantly seeks approval from human and dragon alike... the dragon loves to be pet, stroked, and nuzzled. His constant pining for approval and attention sometimes gets on the nerves of some of the employees on Emily's ranch. Kobal loves to play with toys, and enjoys diving and swimming around. Some ranch-hands have noted that Kobal especially loves to chase after his favorite toy: a worn and chewed-up solid rubber ball.

NAUGHTY BITS: Kobal has a protruding, stubby, wedge-shaped pouch of skin between his legs that is similar in function to a mammal's sheath. It is referred to as a genital or pubic ridge. There is a vertical slit down the front of this ridge that is the opening of the genital slit. Behind this ridge is a wrinkly patch of scales that holds the dragon's testicles. The scales that cover his sack are soft and the skin is very stretchy. Being a warm blooded creature, Kobal's testicles are external, but hug very close to the body. They are normally held just inside, appearing as a pair of shallow mounds underneath the dragon's tail, but the testicles descend when the male is aroused, relaxed, or simply hot. Kobal's phallus is dark, ruddy red in color and smooth to the touch. His body produces a thin lubricant inside his slit that helps him evert. The head is triangular and pointed, and flares out behind the shaft. Behind the head, the dragon has a slightly tapered shaft that curves slightly upward. The shaft is wider at the base and has a row of bumpy ridges circling around the last two inches. Kobal's length and girth is comparable to an above-average human male. Kobal constantly leaks precum when completely aroused, helping to lubricate any hole. His prostate throbs rhythmically in time with the leaking of his precum, and can be felt through anal penetration. His urethra (pee tube) is visible down the length of the underside of his his shaft. Kobal's prostate contracts and hardens, his shaft stiffens and throbs, and the head of his shaft widens during climax. Like many species of dragon, Kobal produces a respectable amount of semen, more than any human.

NAUGHTY BEHAVIOR: As previously stated, Kobal is a submissive dragon. Because Yellowtail females choose their mates, it is not uncommon for single, ornery males to experiment with eachother out of frustration. As he is last on the dominance pecking order, Kobal has no chance with any females, and other males seek him out to be the bottom partner for male-on-male rutting. Being submissive and eager to please, Kobal has no problem with this proposition, and has grown accustomed to greatly enjoy the act of receiving to the point where he will seek out attention from other males. Kobal is also well versed in oral play, having learned how to perform fellatio on himself through trial and error. The dragon enjoys both giving and receiving oral attention.

Despite still wishing to mate with a female properly, Kobal does not mind having other males as mates due to his enjoyment of receptive anal sex. Kobal likes to encourage and let his mate take control, preferring to take a passive role. But, his submissiveness and willingness to please makes Kobal for a very reciprocal partner as well, and the dragon will take an active role simply just to pleasure his mate. Kobal enjoys giving pleasure because he views his partner's arousal as sign of being appreciated and liked. In addition to his preference for anal penetration, the dragon loves to be rimmed. Rimming combines his preference for anal penetration with nuzzling and licking, which are common ways his species to show affection. With proper coaxing, Kobal can be encouraged to take the dominant position on top. He views a receiving partner as a mark of trust and acceptance, which excites and flatters him greatly.

OTHER DRAGONS ON THE RANCH:

Elle: An old, female Black-crested Sable that is gentle, quiet, and easy-going with humans. Often described as "as tame a dragon as you can get", she is a great example of a beginner's dragon due to her good temperament. Elle is often rented out to customers who wish to start taking dragon riding lessons.

Glycon: A young male Black-crested Sable that has a somewhat quirky, skittish personality. Glycon prefers other males for sex. When Ethan first came to the ranch, Emily assigned him to Glycon as he adjusted from horse riding to dragon riding. Ethan took well to the male Crestie, and the two stayed together often. Eventually, Glycon started to come on to Ethan for sex. Ethan, who had no knowledge of dragon-human sexual iterations at the time, was surprised when he found Glycon began nipping and nuzzling his crotch, along with displaying traditional dragon courting behaviors. Glycon became more and more incessant over the course of a week before Ethan gave in. He found the dragon preferred receptive anal sex and surprised Ethan by being keen on reciprocating pleasure. Glycon was such an eager partner that Ethan became smitten, and the two had enjoyed each other many times before Kyle came to the ranch. Ethan has since then experimented with other dragons of both sexes, and has recently taking a liking to Kobal.

Iris: Besides Nixi, Iris is the only other female Yellowtail Garl on the ranch. Like Nixi, Iris is stubborn and dominant, and chooses her mates. Unlike Nixi, Iris is much more laid back in temperament and during sex, she prefers to relax and let her partner do the work. Iris and Nixi enjoy occasional sex with eachother, as both females appreciate the other's knowledge of what feels good to a female dragon. This same-sex behavior tends to frustrate the male Yellowtails even more, as because they are the less dominant gender, males can only have sex at the female's choosing. Iris is a carrier for Draconid Opterogryposis through her mother, which makes her unfit for breeding. Opterogryposis is a congenital disorder with a low chance of inheritance and is characterized by the shortening and deformation of the joints and muscles in the wings, leading to an inability to fly. Like Nixi, Iris will seek out humans for sexual pleasure, and has done so with Ethan at least once before Kyle arrived on the ranch. Iris finds a human's upright body shape to be amusing.

Dag: An aggressive male Yellowtail that has a quick temperament. Dag has caused troubles on the ranch many times, most recently by attacking and biting Jake on the arm, causing the latter to seek medical attention. Dag has mated with Iris before, but takes his frustration out on the other male Yellowtails when she is not willing to entertain his antics.

Mitka: Mitka is a male Spiketail Sliver, which is a large species of dragon capable of carrying a human in flight. A Sliver is a kind of sleek, lithe dragon with a long, narrow body and a large wingspan. Spiketails are not discussed in great detail, due to the species having a small role in the dragon ranch story. Despite this they are considered very important on the ranch due to being able to carry a human in flight and are in high demand by tourists and visitors.

Mitka's wingspan can cover two cars in approximation. As typical of his species, Mitka's topcoat is red while the inside of his pagatium (wing membrane) and underbelly is yellow. Spiketails are so names for the lateral row of short but wide spikes on the end of their tails. Domesticated Spiketails commonly have their spikes removed, capped, or dulled as a safety precaution, as the dragon will attempt to use them as a weapon if angered or provoked. Spiketails are considered vain and dislike being put into servitude. The species are thus difficult to train. Despite the natural sense of pride and arrogance Spiketails exhibit, Mitka is very well trained and follows orders readily. Mitka is rather timid for a Spiketail and dislikes unfamiliar situations. He easily takes to human interaction and is a good choice for newbie flyers.
