(New) In the Five Temples region Poke centers are more like hospitals with maternity, surgery, and trained staff. The poke marts are separate buildings. Female pokemon tend to miscarriage if put in a poke ball.
(Old) Female pokemon tend to give live birth in the region except; flying and bug. Some lay eggs but they tend to have linage from other regions. Poke balls are not used. They believe it is a form of enslavement. They are only used in emergency situations.
(Heat)
It was mid winter and Susan was in heat. Gordon knew the scent and planned a party with a large meal. Susan had picked a spot. In the human part of the city had several above ground parks. The park was beautiful full of flowers and a large lake. There was a sign posted at the entrances. It stated, "Mating Season, keep children out. Enter at your own risk." A few ground keepers were there to discourage pokémon making nests. That night Susan and Gordon were under a new moon. The party was with their friends celebrating mating season. Partners would join in groups and mate. The idea was getting the rest of the group excited and then raise the young as a group in the wild. It also synchronized female giving birth. Vital if they had no aid in the woods or cities. Their friends thought it was forever for them to mate. It usually took weeks for partners to mate not months. Susan and Gordon came early to set up with fruits, berries, day old bread, and some meat. A charmander cooked the meat and roasted the berries. The group ate and drank. Gordon was cleaning Susan heading down to her vagina. His penis was erect and she was purring as he headed down. Gordon asked her, "Are you ready?" She nodded, "Yes." He began to walk around her and mount her. He cleaned her vagina then, got on top of her. He slid in her and was slowly humping her. She was purring deeper and began to moan. Gordon was speeding up and was panting almost overcoming her. Soon her vaginal walls tightened and he was slamming in her. He was knotting and she was having an organism. He felt her fluid surround his penis and he ejaculated several times in her. The others began to mate around that time and the two were on round two. Susan was sore and cleaned Gordon tasting his semen. She wobbled home and felt satisfied. The two mated in different positions for a week until she knew she was pregnant. She was going to have a litter with Gordon and they were overjoyed about that. They really loved each other. For the first two weeks she was acting strange. Her hormones were imbalanced and Gordon did not know how to handle it. The ninetales he had never acted this way, he sought a male with more experience. He found out some female's act strange for the first month of pregnancy. He did more hunt for her to allow her to forage close to home. Susan was wobbling and could not travel as fast or as far. Susan soon felt her litter kicking and she started to build the nest out of old blankets and grass. She dough a hole for a fire pit, because, they did not want their home to burn down. She was beginning to lactate. Gordon was grooming Susan one afternoon until he heard an unusual sound in the factory and went to check it out. The factory was abandoned, but the humans had left half empty barrels of chemicals there. The labels were long gone and he avoided the area. He noticed some shadows moving in the area and claimed to ownership. They were a group of sandile evolutions looking for a good nesting spot. The head Krookodile challenged Gordon. Gordon used quick attack and missed. The krookodile countered with thunder fang and that missed. The proximity to the barrels caused a spark and a barrel exploded. A fire started and they all fled. Gordon ran to Susan and helped her get out. The fire caused the other barrels to explode and flaming destruction flew on the side buildings. The fire department could do nothing and let the fire burn down the building. The complex was completely destroyed. Susan and Gordon looked at each other and thought, "Where would we live?" Gordon tried his first trainer but, the place was too well guarded. They fallowed her home from work on night. They went south through the mountains on a path, very few knew about. They entered Unova when Susan was about to give birth. She gave birth to three eevee's and three moewth's. One male eevee was brighter in color than normal. It was early spring and their children were not old enough to move. Gordon was on edge after he saw a trainer capture a pokémon with a poké ball. Susan was nursing and unable to move around too far from the young and she was an easy target. If she was captured, their children would die. They were hiding for two weeks when they were spotted by an articuno. She landed and watched Susan wonder, "Why are the young that small?" Live birth was rare in the region. She said, "They look so cute and tiny. I have never seen any young that small before." Susan replied, "We lost our home and need to travel north over the mountains. They are too young to move and if I am captured they will die. Please stay for a week, and then fly us north?" The articuno was surprised and agreed. When they arrive in their own region they found Gordon's first trainer and she was moving. The new home was by the west temple with his trainer. It was a small house and they were not happy. She gave the group except for the shiny eevee who she wanted to a friend in unova who owned a farm. She could not afford to keep them there and asked if they would live there. In unova the house was big and spacious. There was a female zangoose who lived there. She became jealous of Susan. Susan had a loving mate and all she got was mate that left when she had an egg. "Gordon. Why do I never have mates that stay with me?" The zangoose asked.
"I did not mate with Susan for months and when we did we loved each other. Susan has love young and I fell for her. You think that romance for a few days makes them love you? That is not the answer. You need to know them, before you make eggs." Gordon told her. She processed what he said and realized something, "Pokémon lay eggs, not live young! I have never heard that and you are lying!" Gordon looked at her and replied, "In Unova humans use poké balls. If a female is pregnant then, they are captured. Then they have a miscarriage; they lose their young! Eggs are not affected and it hurts to see your mate lose your children! Eggs hatch and grow faster. Egg layers outnumber live birth here. You lay eggs so, what reason does a male have to stay?" She was angry and did not understand. She left to find Susan and when she found her Susan was unable to move fast. She grabbed Susan and hit her in her whom screaming, "Why does Gordon love you, and not me!" Susan was pleading for her to stop. Gordon ran over and tried to fight the zangoose. Susan tried to walk and pulled herself to the door and scratch the door. Their owner saw this happening and ran out to recall the zangoose. Gordon was thrown and severely injured. They were rushed to the pokémon center. "What do you mean you do not have the right equipment! You are a medical facility treat them!" Their owner ranted causing a commotion. The Nurse Joy replied, "Our budget is too small and we never have pregnant pokémon. Go to a regular hospital." The two were taken to the local hospital. He needed x-rays and Susan was in bad shape and in late term. The doctor walked in and said, "This is the first time in twenty years I have seen a pregnant pokémon. What happened to her?" "My zangoose attacked her and she is in late term." Their owner said.
The doctor looked at her and felt around her. He looked grim when he said, "This is not good. By now she is near labor and with these injuries none may survive. We need to take some test and check on both of them. Most pokémon in her stage are unable to move very far. I suggest they stay overnight." The two shared a bed in the hospital, late that night Susan was in labor. She was in unusual pain. Gordon was scared when a nurse came in. She looked at Susan and realized she was giving birth early. Two eevee's and one meowth were born. The nurse was rushing the bed to surgery. By the time they were there she had passed. Gordon could only watch. He stayed with her on the bed in the bed grieving. He looked at his young when the doctors were doing a C-section for the other young. One meowth and one eevee were still born. Gordon looked at his children and one female eevee was there. She was an albino. The other two were males that looked normal. They were given milk and Gordon was still depressed. When they went home, he saw the zangoose and said in an angry tone, "I will never mate with you, you killed her." Then, he walked away. She realized that she went too far. She tried to apologize but he did not listen.
