Title: The Cold Dawn

Chapter:1

I meet her on a sunny and breezy Canadian spring day when mysterious black obelisks appeared all over the world and giant creatures called digimon ran rampant all over any area were they appeared. While most had no idea what the digimon were I found out after three previous incidents concerning the digimon Myotismon, Apoclymon and Diaboromon.

Once the black obelisks appeared I ran to grab my jacket the three Japanese type swords that I bought and sharpened which were one katana and the other two were like an short sword and dagger but in the same shape as the first sword. I had looked out the window to see people running away from the dark spire like they had seen monsters or something "of course they seen monsters" I said to myself with a chuckle.

"What are you doing son we have to get out of town those things will get us if we don't" I heard my mom yell as she grab the essentials and the family pet dog, "Mom just get going I'll be fine I'm going to help get everyone out of town I'll catch a ride later" I said to her. I was running towards it like I was being drawn to a omen of doom and a dark destiny, how little I knew how close I was to being right.

I was getting closer to the black spire and no one was around at all, with everyone gone I was wondering why I was still here but I couldn't help but get closer to the massive object that seemed to reach for the sky.

I was so perplexed that I almost didn't see the huge odd looking green glob that was rummaging through the garbage can near by, I had tried to walk slowly away from it so I could see if it was hostile or not from a safe distance but a tendril eye looked out from the garbage can then the rest of it moved away from the trash and started to move towards me.

"Hi" I said to it hopping for a response but all it did was gurgle and look at me like I was food then just lunged at me. I barely had time to draw the dagger like sword while I rolled and raised my right arm hopping to hit the digimon.

When I finished rolling I turned to face the monster but it was already disappearing before my eyes. Once the blob had disappeared I started to wonder if there were alot of digimon like these, but I quickly dismissed the question and started to run to the spire once again.

I went about 20 feet when I heard a sound that was alot like the flap of wings, not just small but massive sized wings and when I looked up I seen a huge flying creature that looked like a wyvern with red wings, blue scales, and a skull covering its head. If that thing decided to come after me it would be hard to get rid of.

I quickly ducked behind a near by building that smelled of incense and perfumes, a welcome from the garbage stink that little green blob got me covered in.

The flying digimon completely ignored or just didn't notice me, "what's going on" I said out loud why wasn't it coming after me it wasn't like there were many people around but my answer soon came.

There was a thunderous boom and the ground shook, the noise came from the towering black spire. I ran towards the spire with out thinking like I was being drawn towards it like a bug to a light, just hopefully not the same fate.

As I closed in on the giant obelisk I could already see that a battle took place, the road looked like it was bombed and the buildings near it were in such bad shape that many of them had collapsed and some looked like they were about too.

I couldn't see who lost the battle but I could clearly see what won, a giant gorilla with what looked like a high-tech cannon on it left arm. It was breathing heavily 'Must have been some fight' I thought to my self

That was when I noticed a boy no more then 13 years of age with a normal build and brown standing by the creature with a concerned look on his face , 'but why would the boy be concerned about that digital creature' I wondered but then I noticed in the boys right hand was a digi-vice "so that's why" I thought out loud he must be a tamer.

"Hello there" I yelled to the boy. I guess he didn't notice I was there cause a moment later he jump just about 10 feet in the air literally, 'HOLY SHIT' I thought, how the hell did he do that but questions would have to wait.

"What are you doing here its dangerous" the boy yelled back. I was already walking up in front of him when I said "I figured it was by the mess around here I was just wondering if you needed any.........LOOK OUT" I pointed behind them at the same wyvern digimon I seen before.

The boy and his digimon wasted no time "Gorillamon" the boy yelled, his digital partner was already in place pointing his cannon arm at his enemy in the sky "Energy Cannon" it yelled and a green energy shot out of the cannon and blasted the wyvern digimon out of the sky and it fell into the ground with a thunderous crash then disappeared before our eyes.

"Well that was close" the boy said while shaking my hand "Thanks alot for your help I don't know if we would have made it if you didn't see that Airdramon just now" he continued "Isn't that right Gorillamon", "Indeed but we aren't done yet we still need to take down that spire quickly" the giant ape said.

"Do you have enough energy for that" the boy said with a concern, the gorilla replied "Yes but it will take a few minutes to gather the energy"

The Gorillamon still looked worried and I figured out why "You're worried if you'll have enough time before another digimon attacks am I correct?" I said, they both looked at me in shock like I said some something wrong.

"Yes but how do you know so much about digimon" the boy asked I simply replied "I did my research after that incident in Tokyo a few years back and it was hard to miss that massive battle that was shown in the sky oh and that other incident that was seen on all the worlds computer."

"Well that would explain it" he said "Suffice it to say I still have alot to learn" I mentioned, it was then the boys digi-vice started beeping like crazy "Not good" the boy sounded worried that was when a new digimon started to appear.

A mist appear in front of the black spire and like something from a movie a figure slowly appeared in the mist, then when the mist dispersed our opponent was reveled.

He looked like an ancient samurai in full armour and a katana he was drawing from its sheath, it looked like he was ready for fight. "I still don't have enough energy for my attack" the Goillamon stated with worry.

"And we can't fight this Musyomon in our condition" the boy said "Don't worry" I said "I can try to buy you enough time to take down the spire."

"ARE YOU CRAZY you'll be killed if you fight him by yourself" they boy yelled at me "Calm down, just take out that spire so we can all get out of this in one piece" I said.

I drew my sword and charged for the Musyomon, like-wise the digimon did the same, soon we would clash swords and one thought went through my mind as I ran towards my opponent 'Am I Insane or just crazy'.

The swords clashed with a loud clang and our dance began. I did everything I could to stay alive I blocked most attacks but those that I couldn't block I was barely able to dodge. I managed to get in a few attacks myself but I couldn't get in a clear hit.

I went for a different approach and back up as far as I could with out putting the gorillamon or the young boy in danger. I charged for the Musyomon for one last attack and just like in a movie there was a moment of pause as I passed the digimon.

I couldn't tell if I got him but when I seen the bloody and painful gash to my side I guessed I had lost the duel. I felt sorry that I wasn't better and that I wasn't able to do more then what I had already done.

All of a sudden I heard Gorillamon shout his attack "Energy Cannon" and I looked up to see the spire being blast into many pieces but at the same time I heard another voice "GET OUT OF THE WAY OR YOU"LL BE CRUSHED" the voice came from the young boy but I had lost so much blood that I couldn't move or even stand up anymore, all I did was fall to the ground with a THWACK and I waited for my end.

I had so many questions to ask him I didn't know where to begin, just then I thought of something that I needed to know "Tell me, what happened after I fell" I asked. Alex looked at me like he knew the question was coming "Well.......after we shot the spire it was starting to crumble and neither me nor Gorillamon could get to you in time" he paused for a moment to gather his thoughts "It was just then like it was watching over you that a digimon that looked like a yellow fox just appeared in front of you, picked you up in her arms and jumped out of the way."

There was another pause of silence while he seemed to collect his thoughts "She looked wondrous though, elegant and strong she had no problem handling you" "Ah she!?" I said while giving him a confused look, "Yeah she was female digimon that stood upright and was some what human in shape but still looked like a fox for sure" he added.

So a female digimon saved my life "Interesting........but what kind of digimon what she" I asked," That's the thing" he said "I never seen any digimon like her before" "But didn't Gorillamon know anything" I asked him. He looked at me like he was wondering the same thing "I tried to ask him but he avoided the question, and there is something else too......... I looked up at Gorillamon when the fox digimon appeared and it looked like he saw a ghost."

Very interesting, it looks like gorillamon might be hiding something I thought. "Oh shit the time, I've got to go I'll see you later ok" then Alex bolted out the door like he was dog chasing after a cat "WAIT" I said but he was already gone. "Must have been something important" I said to myself as I laid back looking up to the roof thinking about all that had happened.

"I know, why not get the guys down at the R&D division to check it out" the little Monkeymon said, "Monkeymon be quiet" Alex said while covering the monkeys mouth to stop him from saying anything else.

"What's he talking about" I said while giving Alex a squinty eye stare, there was a moment of pause as I stared into him. "It's nothing, nothing at all" he said sheepishly, I relaxed my eyes and said "Ok I'll leave it at that...for now".

"Would you mind if I took a few pictures of it before the runes disappear" Alex asked while taking out a camera "Sure but you'd better make it quick" I responded, with that he took a few quick camera shots. "Ok now for my last question and this one is more for Monkeymon" I said while both me and Alex looked toward Monkeymon.

"Ok now its time to fess up what do you know about that she-fox digimon" I asked him, I noticed that Monkeymon was squirming a little bit when I asked that question like he was dreading it.

"I...I can't" he studded "Why not?" Alex asked, "It's not my place to, its taboo to even talk about" Monkeymon said while looking around like he was expecting something to happen. "Why not, what aren't you telling us" Alex demanded "I'm sorry Alex but I just can't the only one that can tell you is the digimon herself" he said with a disappointed look on his face

"Then tell me how do I find her" I asked "You don't she will find you, and it looks like she has already" Monkeymon said while he picked up the digi-vice and placed it in my hand. Monkeymon went back into Alex's back pack and they both left soon after "What's going on" I said to myself as I laid down to think once more.

I had a few more days in the hospital before I went home, some family members visited me while I was recuperating but I barley noticed I just kept thinking about that fox like digimon.

I didn't see Alex anymore after that talk from before and what did Monkeymon mean by 'The only one that can tell you is her' what was he so afraid of. I rested up a few more days after I got home but I felt fine the whole time, nothing was wrong with me, even when I went to change the bandages on my side I noticed something unreal my side had completely heal not even a scratch.

It was all so unreal no human has that kind of healing, but I never told anyone that would just make them worry too much so I continued to act in more pain then I really was.

About one week had passed when my parents had to leave to pick up my brother that was living in Sechelt in the south-west of B.C. They would be gone for a few hours so when they left I went to relax normally for once with out them worrying about me.

I was on the couch watching TV when I heard a loud boom out side "OH shit not again" I was thinking but it couldn't be, all the spires were gone. I ran outside to see that there was something going on in a field right across from were I live where semi-truck normally are parked.

I ran towards the field where I could see that two digimon were fighting each other one was a huge creature that looked like a T-Rex with feathers adorned on it, but also standing beside it was a person with a slightly thin build and a digi-vice in his left hand.

The other digimon that was fighting was very familiar it looked like a humanoid fox with yellow and white fur here and there. There were strange signs on her legs, right around the knees, that looked a little like the one of Yin and yang that seemed to change color with every move she made.

At that point I realized that it was her that I had seen the night before in the hospital and a few other times after that as well being that one that saved my life. I wasn't positive just from looking at her but I just felt it and I had to help.

I ran towards the fighting but when I had got there the yellow fox like digimon was badly hurt, then I heard the boy yell something "Now we've got you, there is no escape now...Allomon" the digimon was preparing to attack but stopped as soon as I tackled the boy which was older then I'd thought about 16 years old give or take.

"What are you doing" the boy yelled at me, I wasn't sure what I was doing within a few moments I had closed a huge gap between me and the boy that seemed almost unreal. I held the boy in a strong head lock and all I felt was rage for some reason and feelings that didn't make any sense.

"If you continue to attack her I'll snap your neck" I said with a low deep growl that seemed in-human enough to chill you to the bone "Ok.......Allomon stop we're getting out of here" the boy said with fear. The Allomon had went back to his rookie form and I had let the boy go afterwards giving him a cold deep stare that he had winched at.

Once they had left I ran over towards the fallen fox digimon, when I gotten up close I could tell that she really was female the face was beautiful and the body even though it was battered and bloody was elegant and had nicely shaped breasts.

"Ok Alex has really over done it, but I like that tub though" I said but I was hungry and breakfast was calling even though it was in the afternoon. I left the bathroom and checked the one beside it, it was the master bedroom with a huge bed and what looked like much of my things there. I got a closer look to see that they were all my stuff "That sneaky bugger" I said, Alex was going to get it when I got my hands on him. I searched through the draws to find many of my cloths there, I grab a plain green t-shirt, boxers, and some black sweat pants, I left the socks since I rarely ware them around a house.

I walked back to the kitchen smelling the delicious food along the way, as it turned out Rena was a natural at cooking. I saw that Rena was just standing there waiting for me "You can eat at anytime you want to you know" I said "I know but what kind of mate would I be if I didn't wait, besides it customary to wait for the man of the house to show up" she told me as I sat down.

"Guess it must be a pain when the whole family is waiting for the father uh" I said with a grin "At times yeah, you wouldn't believe the excuses my father used at times to weasel his way out of trouble" she mentioned to me while still standing. "Aren't you going to sit down" I asked Rena "I'm waiting to see if you like it" she said with a bright smile.

"I know its good not only can I smell it but I have never complained about your cooking yet" I said with a smile "Not even when I burnt everything trying to cook you a meal, you still ate it with a smile...sort of" she said while I got her to sit down. The food looked very good and I was starving that I started to scarf it down, "Now I know two ways to wake you up" Rena mentioned, I already knew of the two ways she was talking about the smell of her cooking could revive the dead and the other was kind of obvious.

Once I had finished my meal I just waited for Rena to finish her meal while I did the dishes. "So tell me what brought all this on all of a sudden" I asked her while rinsing the dishes, "I've cooked for you before" she said like she was trying to change the subject. "You know what I mean.....about last night" Rena had stopped eating and went to sit down on the couch in the living room I went over to join her, "You see I was in heat" she said with embarrassment, it took me a moment to think about what she was talking about.

"That's ok but feelings do matter" I said while contemplating my next move "No please don't get me wrong I do love you that's why I wanted to be with you during my first" she said with such worry "And I love you two but why did you choice me?" I asked. "Well you see when I wanted to go to the human world to find my tamer much of my family was against it because they knew that my first heat would becoming soon" she pause a moment then continued "I went anyway's thinking for sure that if needed I could make it back to my home before anything happened but I didn't count on meeting you..........you see for most Renamon male and female there are a few signs that you are in heat or in males case ready to mate."

Rena had to take a deep breath and gather her thoughts then continued again "For most its just the overwhelming need to breed but in rare occasions there is more to it then that, sometimes dreams occur when you and your perfect mate or I think your people call it soul mates have dreams about one another with out knowing who they are. I know we both had a dream like that sometime back."

Rena was right I did have a dream like that 4 months ago when I first met Rena I thought it might have been her but now I'm sure "Though your human I was amazed that you fought a Musyomon and lived as long as you did, I guess then I started to fall for you even though I knew you were human and my tamer to boot" Rena had alot on her mind I never interrupted her once "Renamon also have a keen sense of smell to tell when a suitable subject is ready to mate, I had sensed that smell on you but at times it was over powering" Rena had stopped talking like she was waiting for me to say something.

"Then over time we developed feelings for each other not just because we were ready to mate but because we were meant for each other and we got along together so well" I had said to her she replied simply "Right". I leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek "Well the dishes are done I think I will explore this new house of ours some more then there's only one more thing we need to figure out" I said. "What would that be?" Rena wondered "What in the world are we gonna tell our parents" I said like I didn't care about what they thought, "I'm not sure love but we will figure something out" Rena motioned as she went to finish clearing the table.

I had already searched most of the house except for the one room at the end of the hall way, I had stood just staring at it like something out of a horror movie "What am I doing" I said to myself I walked to the door and opened it to see a luxurious den with a huge fire place, a leather recliner with a small table beside it with a reading lamp on it. I looked at the walls to see several huge bookcases stacked with books of different kinds and on one shelf all of my books and even some new ones of the series I was reading.

"Yup I'm most definitely gonna kick his ass" I said out loud. I was done exploring the house so I looked through the books on the selves seeing all kinds of things, dictionary's, biographies, histories, legends, classic novels of all sorts, but one caught my eye that was called 'The History and Legends of Egypt and Japan'.

I took the book down and sat in the recliner and began to read it, it was interesting how some mythical creatures appeared in both of there histories that looked like digimon, one legend in japan that told of a magical fish that looked like a coralmon, and some cats in Egypt that wore rings on there tails 'Gatomon I believe'. All the while I had seen pictures in each others history of creatures that looked the same, the Egyptian god Set as well as his followers, and the Japanese creatures that protected some sacred forests, both looked like Renamon in such remarkable ways that it couldn't be coincidence.

"So Renamon have been to earth before" I said to myself in contemplation, if so did Rena know about this or does she think I shouldn't know just yet. I had no idea that I had been there for a few hours reading until Rena had teleported in the den and sat on my lap, "What you reading love" she asked "History on Egyptian and Japanese culture it seems that many mythical creatures look like digimon" I said to her as I gave her a hug.

"So what's next for us" Rena asked me I wasn't sure so I didn't say a word all I did was sit there with Rena on my lap staring into the empty fire place.
