The Silver Sorceress Chapter 1
This is just the first part, but I am planning some big things for this story. (pun intended) I hope you enjoy!
The Silver Sorceress
Introduction
This story takes place on the planet of Galdania. Galdania is a world of myth, castles, legends, magic, and power. It is a world of both human and anthropomorphic animals alike, full of magic and mystery. The story that follows is one of Sarah "The Silver Sorceress" Silver. Our story starts in the Kingdom of Nexius, where Sarah is about to discover something unexpected in her life.
Chapter 1: Legend
She was young, smart; brilliant, even. But there was always something that Sarah wanted more than anything. The human woman wanted to be more than she was now. She stared at her reflection. It started back at her with crimson eyes, the mirror detailing her features.
A sigh escaped her lips as she continued to look over herself. Her silver hair was cut short, and was perhaps the only standout feature on the young woman's body. It was tied back with a hair strap, though a few bangs spilled forward. Her face was young looking, looking no older than your average twelve year old boy or girl. But she was far older than that, twenty-two to be exact. Her five foot frame was not much to look at, though hidden beneath silver robes she was adorned in, one couldn't tell.
Ever since she was twelve, it seemed that puberty has passed by this young woman. But one thing for sure continued to develop in Sarah; it was her intellect. She had passed through her sorcery classes with great skill and high grades. She was the envy of most any other sorcerer or warlock in the Kingdom of Nexius. Many commented of prowess with magics of the world. It almost came naturally to her. Spells that took years to master for even the best of magician's took almost time for Sarah to learn.
Her mastery of magic had gotten much of the attention of others, garnering the nickname "The Silver Sorceress." The sorceress even held a rather high position in courts, one where she was free to research what she wanted. Sarah wore that title proudly, as it was just about the only thing she could flaunt. Sure she essentially had ultimate power at her fingertips, but it always felt like something was missing from her life. She had decided it was something to do with her looks long ago. Spell after spell she tried, to make herself grow to no avail. She later discovered through a spell there was something off about her power potential. Like she wasn't tapping into her full potential, and try as she might she couldn't figure out how to.
She was blessed with power, but often mocked because of her looks. A well respected sorceress by her power alone and yet mocked behind her back. The sorceress huffed and called for her assistant. "Come, Karia," she suddenly snapped. She was in no mood today to waste time it seemed. She needed to find something, something that pointed in the direction of her finding herself, of growing herself.
Karia came scurrying in the room, carrying several tomes and scrolls. The pantheress was tall, standing in at seven feet, with a musculature to go along with it. Her large breasts were still bouncing a bit as she came into her master's bedroom. The black pantheress was timid around Sarah, not because of her size, but because of her power. One of these days the one her spells would backfire, she was sure of it. "Yes, mistress," she managed to stammer out.
Sarah herself was in particular a nice person; she just didn't like it when others spoke about her behind her back. "We are going into town, to the archives," she said coolly turning from the mirror and then looking up at the pantheress, whom was dressed in dark navy apprenticing robes, that may have been a size or two too small.
Karia nodded, setting the tomes and scrolls down on a nearby desk, and then quickly shuffled behind her. Sarah pulled up her hood over her face, leading the way through her assigned quarters in the castle. Her silver robes flowed around her freely as she moved, moving towards the entrance. Karia quickly opened the door to the hall. The Lionguards nodded as the human passed by, making her way down the hall as Karia locked the door to her quarters and followed suit.
"What are you planning to find at the archives, mistress," Karia asked the Silver Sorceress, catching up to her.
"I am not sure yet. Something I haven't looked at before," she shrugged beneath her robes. The castle halls were busy today, many a noble or royal moving through, towards the throne room. "Hmmm...before we go...I guess we should go and see what is going on." The silver haired human turned and made way down the hall in the crowd of people, leaving Karia behind somewhere. She made a few nods towards people that she knew, pushing her short self towards the front of the crowd as they a crowded around the throne.
The hall was alight with conversation as the crimson eyed sorceress looked around noting not only several nobles from other nations but it appeared the full court had been assembled. Whatever was going on, it was important enough to bring everyone here. The King of Nexius, Seth, entered the throne room, a tall stallion of superior size and strength. The room when silent as the king came in, the large hooves clomping towards the throne, stopping before it and facing the crowd that had amassed in the throne room.
There was a brief silence before he opened his mouth to speak. His voice was deep, but seemed to have an air of concern about it. "I have gathered you all here today, because it seems that one of legends may actually be truth." He paused looking around the room, eyes stopping at Sarah before looking back over the room. "There have been reports of an army rising out of the Dark Crevace." That brought gasps, some in disbelief.
Someone else finally spoke, in the middle of the room; a snake from the sound of its voice. "That isss impossssible."
The King nodded and then waved for one the council to come forward, it appeared the council wizard had received a recording, as he was holding the capture gem. The capture gem was a magically infused stone that was able to capture moments and record them visually. Sarah knew the wizard all too well, a fellow human, much older than she, but was quite jealous of Sarah's power. His name was Alrick, an old man that wore too much of his ego on his sleeve. He presented the gem to the people.
The recording that was displayed was something that startled some, even Sarah her crimson eyes gazing upon the creatures that rose out of the Dark Crevace. Demonic creatures and even some dark and twisted versions of the various races on Galdania. The captured images stopped as Alrick set aside the King continued. "As you can see, one of our scouts spotted the creatures come out the Dark Crevace," the tone in his voice was grave. "But if you recall the legend, there would one called the Silver One that would rise about with great power to defeat this coming evil."
The King again looked towards the Silver Sorceress before looking back over the crowd. Sarah noted how King Seth looked at her. Did he really thing that she was the person that would stop this impending doom from the Dark Crevace? The young human snorted slightly and then turned, worming her way through the crowd back towards the hall. Well back on the way to the archives...
Thoughts were racing through her head now. Sure the signs pointed to her. Silver hair, the silver robes she favored...heck even her last name was Silver. And she was one of the most powerful sorceresses in the world. But that didn't preclude that she wasn't that powerful. She still have to get to her full potential.
The castle halls seemed to rush by her, as she stepped outside the castle walls. It was raining today, the occasional lightning bolt flashing across the sky. Sarah sighed a little, pulling up her hood again and then stepped out into the muddy road towards town. Her boots lightly pattered against the well traveled road, as she stopped by a passerby.
"You are The Silver Sorceress, no," the voice asked. It was low and husky, inviting in a way.
Sarah looked up from her gaze along the road crimson eyes focusing in on person before her. It was a tall wolfess, and quite possibly the most breathe taking one Sarah had ever seen. 8 feet tall, and had curves in all the right places. The armor she wore did little to hide the amazing figure this wolfess had. Breasts that were larger than her head and quite possibly larger than any other species sat high on her chest behind steel plated mail. The wolfess also had a deep black fur than seemed to absorb around her.
"Who...who is asking," the silver haired sorceresses managed to stutter out.
"Freya, a representative of the Brightstar Order," the wolfess answered. "I have come to look for you."
Sarah arched a brow looking at the wolfess. Her fur was getting drenched in the rain, "And what does the Brightstar Order want with me?"
"We have heard the news of the Dark Crevace, and we believe, and suspected for some time that you are The Silver One."
Sarah couldn't help but scoff at the statement. "I am sorry to disappoint, but I think you are mistaken. What you speak of is just a legend." And with that she began to move again towards town.
The wolfess continued. "Sorceress, have you ever wondered why you could wield magic as well as you do? To cast spells as effortlessly as you do? And what about your untapped potential?"
Sarah stopped in her tracks. How would somebody know what she was thinking? She knew that something was off about her, at least a little bit. And she was aware that she had not yet reached her full power yet. The Silver Sorceress turned and looked towards Freya. "You could help me with that?"
Too be continued...
