Burying Bones Chapter 2: Aftermath and Awkwardness
#2 of Burying Bones: A CPT Side story (WIP)
By the next day the fight is forgotten, the siblings are back to ignoring each other as usual. Alex decides to spend some time exploring the forest in search of new Pokémon and Arkanon is glad to be heading out with her. Saki and her Gardevoir are asleep on the floor, Saki still held in Jade's arms. Jade stirs as she feels Alex and Ark leaving the house, but she doesn't wake.
"So, where should we look next? I still want to find that blue eyed Pokémon we saw last night. I want to see if I can capture it." Alex comments, earning a growl from Arkanon. She ruffles the Growlithe's fur and smirks at him, finding his jealousy cute.
"Don't worry Ark; you know I'm not going to replace you. You're too cute to be replaced." Alex comments. The Growlithe sits down and proceeds to groom himself, looking more than feline while doing so. Alex sits down beside the puppy and gently strokes the striped fur on his head. She remembers when she first got the Growlithe, and how happy she was waiting to show him off to her parents.
"Saki! I caught a Growlithe! You have to see him, he's so adorable!" Alex shouts as she runs inside holding a Pokéball, her hair pulled back in pigtails and tied with ribbons to match her pink dress. Saki walks into the room, her long black hair down to her waist and tied with a blue ribbon.
_ "You did a great job, sis. You need to show Mom and Dad when they get home." Saki replies, looking at the clock nervously. Their parents work at the power plant, and are three hours late getting home. Saki turns on the news just as a knock on their door startles the girls. Saki answers the door to see Officer Jenny looking at them with tears in her eyes._
"Are you the children of Alvin and Mary Arceanus?" She asks holding out a slip of paper to the elder sister. Saki takes it and invites the officer in. As the siblings sit down, Officer Jenny looks at them, afraid of what she must tell these little girls.
"I'm sorry, but there was an accident at the Plant today involving a colony of electric types, your parents tried to stop the Pokémon from injuring anybody, but they were electrocuted by an Electivire. They died before reaching the hospital. I'm so sorry." Officer Jenny relays the message to the two girls, watching as Alex drops the Pokéball containing her newly caught Growlithe, setting him free from the ball. The puppy barks his name, before whimpering softly as he realizes his new trainer is crying while holding her sister on the couch. An Officer Jenny is sitting on the couch as well, looking lost.
Arkanon turns and looks up at his trainer, licking her hand as a tear falls down her cheek. Alex turns to her Growlithe and picks him up, hugging him close to her body and kissing his fur as she cries. The little Growlithe whimpers softly, wondering what's come over his trainer as he nuzzles her gently in an attempt to soothe her.
Inside the house, Saki and Jade are working on cleaning, the Gardevoir trying to think of ways to get the sisters back to their old selves. The Gardevoir had been captured as a Ralts by the girls' father, and given to Saki on her 13th birthday as a companion when she began showing signs of depression. With Saki now nearing her twentieth birthday and Alex having just turned seventeen, Jade wants the girls to be happy.
As evening falls upon the house, Jade begins putting her plan into action. She knocks everybody out and forces them into a deep and dreamless sleep, planting images in their minds of how things used to be. She begins flooding them with emotions of love and trust, dampening the hatred and rage. As she tires from the use of her power, Jade considers whether or not she's doing the right thing, but she continues affecting everybody in the house, human and Pokémon alike with feelings of love and trust. As she goes into her Pokéball, she sighs to herself.
_" There, that should keep them quiet for a while. I hope you like what I've done for you Master."_Jade whispers as the red light absorbs her into the ball. The house remains asleep and silent for the rest of the night, the changes sweeping through the minds of both Humans and Pokémon.
As day breaks, Saki and Alex wake from their sleep; sore, yet rested. The sisters eat breakfast together, eggs and toast with honey. They feed their Pokémon, Arkanon getting his usual Tauros n' Flaaffy Pokéchow while Princess settles for her Meowth Mix: Magikarp Lover's Skitty Chow. After the two companions eat with their trainers, they almost die of shock with what happens next.
"Alex, sis, do you think you could come with me to the Pokémart? I need to buy another case of Repel, and a box of Pokéballs." Saki asks her sister, showing an almost sickeningly sweet voice that the icy girl has never used before. Alex looks up from her plate, normally the action is followed by a snarl, or a command for her loyal puppy to bite.
"Sure, Saki, I've been meaning to get a few Great Balls so I can go explore the deeper forests later. Do you want to come with me?" Alex replies, the sisters getting along almost better than when their parents were still alive. From within her ball, Jade can feel the shift in attitude of the girls and smiles.
The girls walk to the Pokémart, their companions at their heels wondering what's happened to the girls. Even the Growlithe and Skitty's normal hatred of each other is gone, the two wondering now why they didn't see how perfectly matched to their trainer they are. As the girls shop for their supplies, Arkanon and Princess talk to each other, each never realizing before why they hated the other.
_" Arkanon, how did you get that scar on your hind leg anyway? I've been wondering that for years, but never thought to ask."_Princess asks, her voice soft and cute like her breed's standard. Arkanon turns to her, his tongue lolling out of his mouth and a smile on his face.
" When I was much younger than I am now, I lived deep in the forest with my parents. One day when we were hunting, this little Pachirisu got startled. For an eight pound ball of fluff, I was just a pup, so I tried to attack. The little squirrel zapped my leg and my flesh and fur were burned. When you're wild, there are no Potions to heal your wounds, or Antidotes to cure poison, you won't just faint if you get wounded, you'll get sicker and eventually you'll die. Normally Growlithe pups don't leave their dens until they're around two years old; I was only a few months when Alex found me. She caught me because I'd never seen a human before, but I was hurt and needed help." Arkanon replies, his eyes lowering. Princess turns to him and puts her paw on his head, petting him gently.
" Saki bought me at a Pokémon Pet Shop, I was abandoned by an elderly lady when she found out she was dying. But I thought you were Alex's starter. Aren't they normally given at the lab? How did she catch you?" Princess asks, before Arkanon rolls onto his back. He smiles as his fur blows in the breeze.
"I'm not her actual starter. I'm the first Pokémon she caught, and the only Pokémon she keeps out of the ball all the time, but her starter was actually a Torchic. She was given to Alex by the lab when she began her journey, but when Flare evolved into a Blaziken, Alex released her so she could find a mate." Arkanon replies, a fond look in his eyes when he recalls his capture and Flare being released. Princess looks up at him with a grin on her face.
" You know you love her. You wish you had been released to find a mate as well, don't you?" She comments, earning a glare from Arkanon and a series of yipping. The Puppy Pokémon smirks at the thought.
" Actually, I wish I could be Alex's mate. She's almost an adult, and I'm still just a puppy. She needs a man, a human, not a stupid old dog." Arkanon whimpers, his ears drooping. Princess looks at him surprised. He can smell something off about the cat, but doesn't bother himself with it.
"Yes, humans are best paired with humans, but I'm surprised you didn't realize that some Pokémon and their trainers do in fact mate, some even produce babies from it. There was a news story a while back about a new subspecies of Pokémon, hybrids. They look like their Pokémon form until they mate for the first time, and then they transform into a human-looking Pokémon that can use attacks, but speak both human and Pokémon language. After the show aired though, a group of humans ended up killing entire families. They were so against hybrids that they murdered anybody and everybody they thought was a Poképhile. Many Pokémon lost their lives too, many were innocent." Princess comments, Arkanon looking at her questioningly. The Skitty just smiles at him, trying to hide the fact that she wants to cry. Arkanon puts his paw on her head and gently pets her, trying to comfort her. She rubs her face against his fluffy chest before falling asleep.
A few hours later, Alex and Saki emerge from the shop, noticing their Pokémon curled up together and sleeping. The girls recall them both into their Pokéballs and carry them home with their supplies. As the girls begin putting the purchases away, they notice a news program on the TV. Turning up the volume they come across a Breaking News Report.
"AUTHORITIES ARE BAFFLED AT Pokémon MASSACRES. Earlier today remains were discovered at the house of a trainer. Conan Rockwell and his Pokémon were found murdered in their yard by a neighbor. Witnesses say they saw a strange Zoroark running away from the scene of the crime. Anybody with Information on this mysterious Pokémon, please call local authorities." The news program startles the girls and they watch as scenes of blood and guts flash across the screen. Alex begins trembling and Saki, sensing her horror, turns off the television. Saki holds her younger sister close and gently kisses her forehead, whispering promises of protection in an attempt to calm her. Alex begins crying, her body shuddering violently as she shoves her nose against her sister's neck, coating the older girl's neck and shirt in salty tears. Saki hugs her sister closer, aware of the younger girl's breasts rubbing against her own through their shirts. Alex whimpers softly, before straightening up and looking apologetically into her elder sister's eyes. Saki smiles at the auburn haired girl, her ice blue eyes betraying her desire to be closer to her sister.
_"I shouldn't be thinking of her like this. She was just nuzzling up to me for comfort; her boobs rubbed mine, what's so bad about that? Now I'm thinking about undressing her and....Oh Arceus I'm going insane."_Saki thinks, a blush creeping over her pale, freckled skin. Alex doesn't notice, too caught up in her own thoughts.
"What on Earth is wrong with me? I wanted her to hold me, and now I want to feel her body against mine. I was scared, a child needing comfort, that's all, but now I want to fuck my own sister. Arceus I'm a depraved sexual deviant for that." Alex thinks, feeling her body heating up as a similar blush spreads over her face, reaching down her breasts and racing towards her toes. Saki notices, the elder girl giggling at her sister's full-body blush. Suddenly, as if realizing their thoughts towards each other, the girls clear their throats and head to their rooms.
