Hey everybody, guess who's back?

Last time, I promised you that I would write something different other than pokemon. Well, here it is, brand new and completely out of the box.

This story is based on my real experience of how I met my boyfriend, but it would be boring if there were only two humans, so I made him a Shiba Inu, because I love dogs, and Shiba Inu is my favourite breed <3

Hope you'll enjoy the read, and please let me know what you think of it. Constructive critisms are always precious for my future stories :)

PART ONE: MY DAILY LIFE

[6: 00 a.m]

RING...

"Shut up, you stupid watch!" I mumbled and turned off the digital alarm clock. I wasn't what they called a 'morning person'. I meant...my eyes just wouldn't seem to open themselves, and my brain felt like it was floating on air. Damn, I needed a shower...

My mouth opened for a big yawn as I slowly crawled off from the bed. I stretched my body to get it working again, then shook my head to get the blurriness out of my eyes, and made my way to the bathroom.

"Mmm, another busy day..." I said, looking at the reflection of myself in the mirror. Staring back at me was a young man, with short, black hair, brown eyes and a weary expression on his face. Lately, things had been quite tought for me. The midterm exam, the part-time job, and my little brother had almost drained me. But thanks goodness, the exam was going to be over today, and I got a one-week break to refresh myself.

Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself, sorry about that. My name was Kouga, and I was eighteen years old. I lived with my brother, Kazuma, who was five years younger than me. When we were infants, our parents, for some bizzare reasons, abadoned us. And thus, we were raised in an orphanage. When I were five year-old, a generous elder couple adopted us, thus making them our 'grandparents', I guessed?

We lived in absolute happiness for the next five years. Grandmother and grandfather loved and cared for us like their real grandsons, and there was no words to describe how grateful I was to them. Unfortunately, they passed away when I were ten. It was a devastating blow to me, but I couldn't affort to cry in front of Kazuma, because I wanted to remain a strong and reliable big brother in his eyes. Since then, my works seemed to double themselves. I not only had to take care of Kazuma, but also concentrate on my studies, as well as finding a part-time job. We couldn't just rely on the inheritance to pay for our lives and schoolings.

I rushed into the kitchen to make breakfast, not for me, but for my brother. Kuzuma was one freaking lazy kid, he would never get his butt off to cook himself a proper meal, and I didn't want him to stuff his mouth with greasy fast food all the time. As for me, I wasn't very into home-made breakfast, beside, I wanted to start my morning with something bold and full of energy, not with plain stuffs like eggs and bacon.

"Hey Kuzuma, I'm leaving now! Your breakfast is in the oven." I called. As usual, my respond was a long, lazy groan from his room. I chuckled and made my way out of the house.

I usually walked to school, because I wasn't fond of public buses. They were always hot, full of people, and they smelled freaking terrible. Beside, I really liked walking, because it came with many benefits, one of them was to keep my body fit and make my limbs toned, but the thing I liked most was that I could do anything I wanted, like stopping by a food cart to get my favorite breakfast.

"Hey gramps, can I have the usual?" I asked politely. The cart's owner, who was a old panther lady, smiled at me and nodded, "Got it. Two meat buns for my young man."

"Thanks!" I smiled, taking the buns from her and paying the money. Mmm, there was plenty of time, so I could finish these babies until I got to school.

[6: 50 a.m]

Finally, I arrived at school.

As usual at this time, it was filled with various kinds of students. There were a groud of nerds who were reviving their lessons for the upcoming test. I found myself snickering. Why the hell should they revive the lessons while they had already studied it so hard at home? Then again, what was the point of overfilling your head with knowledge, while you weren't going to use it all? I just couldn't understand those guys. There were also useless, rebellious jerks who, were the opposite of the nerds, had absolutely nothing in their head. Those good-for-nothing idiots spent time on nothing but fooling around and bullying other people. They were the most dispicable people I knew, but sadly, there was nothing I could do, because I didn't want to become their target. Some school girls were busy with their pep talks about nonsense stuffs, such as clothings, boys, and new makeup products.

But what caught my attention most was the guy sitting at the left corner of the class, right behind my table, a new transfer student who had just come into my class at the beginning of this semester. What was his name again? Damn, I forgot! He was a tall, muscular Shiba Inu with brownish gold fur, except for a white patch under his jaw and neck. He had golden eyes, and if my defination was correct, he could be considered very handsome for a furry. Which such an apperance, anyone would guess he was some sort of hotboy and had tons of fan girls, well, they were wrong. He tented to be on good terms with everyone, but he didn't have any girlfriend, despite the fact that girls kept lining up everyday to ask him out. I gussed he just wasn't satisfied with the girls in my school. Man, handsome guys sure had high standard for girlfiends. There were a few times I tried to start a conversation with him, but the guy just turned away and avoided me. The only person who seemed to be his friend was Rei, a grey husky, who was also a new transfer student.

I quietly walked to my seat and sat down. Soon, the rest of my classmates also arrived as the teacher walked in.

"Good morning, class. Today, we will carry on the final test of the midterm exams." Said the teacher - Mrs. Shizuka, who was a middle-aged eagle, as she adjusted her glasses, "Now, I want all of you to do your best with this test, because it is very easy, and no cheating. Anyone caught cheating will be immediately suspended for the rest of this semester."

Soon, silence took over as everyone concentrated on their exam papers. I could smell the tension in the air, but I was fairly relaxed, because I believed in myself, my abilities, and such an easy test wouldn't intimidate me. The time given to all students was one hour, although thirty minutes were enough for me. However, while I was doing my test, I had a creepy feeling that someone was watching me, which sent shivers up my spine.

After having waited for half an hour, I sighed in relief when the bell finally rang as it signalled the end of the class. I'd just turned in my exam paper when I felt a tap on my shoulder, followed by a soft, familiar voice, which made me turn around.

"Hey Kouga." Kaoru, my closest human friend, were smiling gently at me as she offered me a bottle of orange juice, "How was the test?"

"Do you have to guess? Of course it was w_ay_ below my level," I replied with a smug grin and gratefully took the bottle from her, "Thanks for the treat."

"You're welcome." Kaoru said, but suddenly lowered her voice, "There's something I need to tell you, Kouga, just between us."

"What's with the whisperings? It's creeping me out?" I said playfully and took a sip of my orange juice.

"I'm not kidding, Kouga. Just now, did you happen to have the feeling of being watched?"

I flinched and lowered my voice as well, "Yes...But how did you know?"

"I saw it. The person that was looking at you is Leo." Kaoru whispered. I tilted my head in confusion, "Who?'

Kaoru's expression was like Oh my god, you are hopeless! She rubbed her forehead, "Who? The transfer student who has been sitting right behind you all the time. How in the world can you say that you don't know him."

"You mean...the Shiba Inu guy?" I asked, shocked by what I'd just heard. Kaoru nodded, "That's right! And he wasn't simply looking at you. The expression on his face wasn't normal, almost like some sorts of...sadness, and hunger."

"But why? I've never done anything wrong to him. I even tried to befriend him, but he just wouldn't listen, or talk to me."

Kaoru shook her head, "I don't know, but you have to be careful with that guy." She paused and checked her watch, "Oh shoot! It's almost time for my next class. Sorry Kouga, I gotta go!"

She ran off, leaving me behind, shocked and confused.

[11: 45 a.m]

The rest of the morning was boring. There were several more classes, but my mind just couldn't think of anything but Leo. Why the hell did he look at me during that test? I meant...When he first got here, I'd always tried to become his friend, but he just kept avoiding me. He didn't reply whenever I tried to talk to him, so I had given up a long time ago. I bet Leo properly thought of me as nothing but a nuisance, a pain in his neck. But if that was the case, why did he bother to stare at me? Leo...I couldn't guess what was going on in his head.

Anyway, I was too busy thinking about Leo, to the point that I had completely lost track of time. Soon, the bell rang again, dragging me back to Earth as I realized that school was over. After a quick gathering, I got all of my stuffs in my shool bag and dashed out of the class. There were tons of work waiting for me at home. Making lunch, getting myself some sleep, doing all the chores and homeworks before this afternoon's part-time job. It almost seemed like I didn't have time to rest at all.

"Shit, I'm late! Kazuma must be starving at home right now!" I cursed under my breaths while dashing through the school's corridor. However, my hastiness soon got me into troubles. Running too fast, I couldn't get a hold of my speed and rammed into someone, resulted in me landing heavily on by butt and my stuffs falling all over the place. Getting on my feet, I dusted myself, a wave of anger rising in my stomach.

"Are you okay? I'm so sorry!" the other guy asked. Of course I wasn't okay, you idiot! Then again, it was my fault for crashing into him, so I had no choice but to remain calm.

"I'm fine. You don't need to apologize, it was my fault." I said while benting down to pick up my stuffs.

"Let me help you." He offered. I didn't bother to reply, but my heart missed a beat when I felt my hand touching something furry. I looked up, and found myself staring into a pair of golden eyes.

It was him...Leo!

At that very moment, I could feel the nervous bumping sound inside my chest, just by looking at him. His fur...it was warm and soft, and his golden eyes...they were absolutely beautiful. It made me so nervous that I thought there were butterflies in my stomach. I could tell Leo was blushing a little as he stared at me, but why were my cheeks getting hot as well? Blusing while looking at another guy, and a furry to add? What was going on with me?

"Pardon me, but I'm in a hurry!" I said nervously and walked off, my cheeks were still burning hot as hell. I couldn't bring myself to turn around. A spark of guilt flashed in my head as I heard Leo's disappointing sigh...

By the time I got home, it was almost 12: 30. Kazuma was waiting for me in the living room, and he looked pretty pissed.

"Took you long enough, nii-san?" Kazuma grumbled, crossing his arms, "I'm starving!"

"I'm sorry, I was a little busy today." I apologized, but left out the incident with Leo.

"Well you could have at least left me a few bucks so I can buy my lunch!" Kazuma accused again. At this point, I wanted to end this conversation immediately.

"I'm sorry. I'll make lunch right now, just wait here!" I said and quickly ran into the kitchen.

It took me about forty five minutes to make a simple lunch for both of us. No matter how busy I was, I always went home to have lunch with my brother. That way I could check on him, and being able to eat with Kazuma was one of a few moments that I truly relaxed.

"So your midterm exam is over today?" Kazuma asked with a mouthful of rice and Teriyaki chicken, "Everything go smoothly as usual?"

"Yep," I replied, "And after that, I get one week to spare. I'm exhausted, and I need it so bad. What about you? Have any plans?"

"I'll be going on a trip with my classmates tomorrow, and we'll properly return in about one week. Didn't I tell you about that last night?"

"Oh, that's right. Sorry, I forgot." I said, slightly embarassed, "I was so busy that my head couldn't think precisely anymore."

"Get some rest, nii-san." Kazuma said, looking at me with concerned eyes, "You're human, not a machine, so don't try to do everything by yourself."

"Heh," I chuckled, "Nice saying. Well, you can always try to make my life a bit easier, starting with making your own breakfast."

Kazuma blushed furiosly, and I burst out laughing, almost choked on my rice.

PART 2: CONFRONTATION AND A FORBIDDEN SECRET

I spent two hours for a refreshing nap, then another two hours to finish the rest of my homework and the chores, but I couldn't concentrate on anything, because whenever I tried to do so, his image just popped up in my head: Leo. When I looked into his eyes this morning, I could tell the emotions flickered throught them: Loneliness, sadness, fear and desire. Desire was the last and also the most intense emotion, until I squashed it by walking away from him. But why? What did he want from me when he even refused to consider me as a friend? Had he been watching me all that time, from the very beginning of this semester? All kinds of questions came up in my mind, but I couldn't answer any single one of them.

[4: 30 p.m]

"Hey Kazuma," I said and walked into his room. I found myself frowning as I looked around: Everything was a mess. Clothes, papers, books, CDs scattered everywhere, and Kazuma was still sleeping as if nothing was wrong. Damn, it gonna took a long time before this kid could learn how to take care of himself.

"Wassup, nii-san?" Kazuma asked, yawning lazily.

"I'm leaving for my part-time job now, so I can't make dinner for you tonight. Go grab something for yourself, but fast food is off-limits, okay?" I said and gave him some money. Kazuma groaned and took the money from me, not bother to even say goodbye. To be honest, at that moment, I just wanted to stuff Kazuma into a bag and throw him out of the windows. But I managed not to do it.

Oh, I bet you must have been wondering what my part-time job was. I worked as a waiter at a Vietnamese restaurant in town. Why Vietnamese you asked? Well, I loved Asian food, and when people talked about Asian food, they only thought of cuisines like Chinese, Japanese, Indian, ect. but very few knew about Vietnamese cuisine. However, Vietnamese food was beyond delicious. The texture, the smell, and the balance of flavours in every dish were simply amazing.

However, my job wasn't as nearly pleasant as the food I served. Being a waiter required a lot of skills, from organization, comunication to money management, and I also had to memorize the ingridients in every single dish, in case the customers asked. If that wasn't enough, there were countless problems to deal with, and some of them were extremely annoying. Examples? Overdrunken jerks, assholes that ate almost everything, then started complaining about the food so that they would get meals for free...Cheapskates!

Thirty minutes later, I arrived at the restaurant. My heart warmed up as I spotted its familiar sight. To me, this restaurant was almost like my second home. I was a lucky guy, being able to work here. The owner was a kind and generous Vietnamese lady, and the staffs were very friendly. We putted all of our hearts and passion into what we did everyday, and we always stood up for each other. I would never allow anyone, whether it was the owner or a customer, to insult any of us.

"Hello, Kouga," Lynn, another waiter and one of my best friends there, greeted me with a grin, "What brings our employee of the month here so early?"

I grinned back and softly bumped my fist against his, "Just wanna talk to the owner. Is she here?"

"Of course. By the way, what do you want to talk with her?" Lynn asked.

"Nothing," I shrugged, "Just asking for her permission. I'll be talking a week off?"

"Woah, that's a long break. Are you going somewhere?" Lynn asked again, his eyes blinking at me.

"Hey, it's not that long, and stop looking at me like that. It makes me feel like an idiot," I smilled, patting Lynn's back, "The truth is...I've just finished with my midterm exam and I get one week to spare, so I want to relax a bit. Lately, things have been really rough for me."

"I see," Lynn said, nodding, "Good for you. I think she won't have any problems with it. After all, you are one of our hardest workers, and I think you definitely deserve a good break."

"Thanks man."

It turned out that Lynn was right. After I explained my situation to the owner, she immediately accepted my request. The expression on her face told me that she understood how I felt, and she even asked if I needed some extra money, to which I gratefully refused.

[5: 30 p.m]

Dinner service had always been difficult, but for some bizzare reasons, the intensity had mutiplied itself for at least four times today. People crowded the entire restaurant within less than thirty minutes after we'd opened it. It was an amazing sight to witness, but it also made my work a lot more difficult. I had to run constantly from one table to another to serve the food and take the orders. There were so many customers, and we didn't have enough waiters and waitresses to serve them all. It almost felt like we were on the battlefield or something.

Things only seemed to loose up a little after another three hours of service.

"Bloody hell!" I panted out heavily, hands on my knees "What's wrong with the resturant today? Where did all these people come from?"

"You haven't read today's newspaper, have you?" Lynn said. He looked as tired as I was, "Here's the deal: Three days ago, an old man who came here to eat, and he seemed to enjoy the food. It turned out that he is one of the city's top restaurant critics, and his review about our restaurant was pulished in the newspaper."

"So that's the reason why there are so many customers today," I sighed wearily, "Damn, at this rate, we gonna need more staffs."

"Yeah," Lynn said, "Alright, let's get back to work."

By the time all customers had been satisfied, it had already been over 10 p.m. I was beyond exhausted, and the only thing in my mind was to get a long, peaceful sleep.

Normally, it took me half an hour to walk home from the restaurant, but since it had already been too late, I decided to the shortcut - an alley that I had discovered few weeks ago. It would spare me at least ten minutes. The sooner I got home, the quicker I got to sleep.

However, as I was walking, I started to hear the sound of footsteps coming from behind me, as well as the creepy feeling of being watched. At first, I thought it was other people, but after a few minutes, I noticed that the footsteps were quick and steady, and came to a dreadful conclusion that somebody was stalking me. Panicked, I started running like I'd never run before. However, my body, after having to work rentlessly for hours, was completely exhausted, and I quickly lost my speed after a few minutes. What could possibly make it even worse? I was running into a dead-end, and soon I was trapped in a corner. If there was anything that could save me now, it would be...a miracle.

Unable to get away, I turned around to face whoever that had been stalking me. My eyes blinked as I saw, not only one, but two guys. They were tall, muscular and they were both furries. One of them was a white tiger and the other was a grey wolf with two small scars across his left eyes, making him look extremely intimidating. They were both looking at me with hungry eyes and vicious sneers across their muzzles.

"Hello there, hottie," the tiger said, rolling his eyes at me, "Why need to rush, we're not gonna hurt you."

"T-then what do you want?" I stammered, "I don't have money."

"Don't worry," the woft growled and licked his muzzle, "We don't need money, but there's something else you have that we desire."

"What do you mean?" I asked, then it hit me as I saw the lust flashing in their eyes. They were going to...oh my god, I couldn't even say that word.

"Hahah, I think our little friend here has figured out what is going to happen to him," the tiger said, "That's right, boy, we are going to fuck you."

"We've had our eyes on you since this evening, when we went to that restaurant for dinner," the wolf added, "And we've been following you all the way here. Now, be a good boy and submit yourself to us, and we'll let you go without a single scratch after we finish."

After that, they slowly approached me. My body was shaking in fear, and my hands were grinding against the wall behind me. No, I didn't want things to end like this. I didn't want to lose my first time in such a place, to those two filthy bastards. Somebody...anyone, please save me!

~ Leo's POV ~

I was standing behind a tree, watching Kouga as he went into an alley, when suddenly, a grey, furry hand landed on my shoulder, almost making me jump onto the tree.

"Leo," came a familiar voice, which I dreadfully realized whose it belonged to - Rei, "What the heck are you doing? To be honest, you really look like a stalker right now."

"R-Rei..." I sputtered and slowly turned around, "What are you doing here?"

"I should be the one to ask," Rei said, crossing his arms, "What are you doing here?"

"Well, uhm..." I stammered, not knowing how to answer Rei.

"If you don't want to answer, then let me do it." Rei said, "You didn't look like a stalker. You were a stalker. Now, who is that lucky person?"

This time, I was speechless.

"Okay, no answer again, huh?" Rei grinned, "Then I will do that favour for you. It was Kouga, wasn't it?"

"What? I...I don't know what are you talking about?"

"You've always been a terrible actor, Leo," Rei said, "Other people may not be able to tell, but I can always predict what's going on in your head. For examples, you're gay, and you're hopelessly in love with Kouga."

Immediately, I felt the heat getting to my cheeks as I blushed furiously. I was extremely embarassed when my Rei spoke out my secrets, and to be honest, I just wanted to crawl under a rock and die!

However, Rei seemed to be amused by my reaction. He smiled smugly and tapped my shoulder, "Hey, no pressure, man. You're my best friend, and I have absolutely no problem with your personal life. I know you've always been lonely, and no matter how much time I spend with you, I would never be able to fill that void in your heart. But now you've found Kouga. I know you love him deeply, so don't let him go. I'll be here to support you."

Hearing those sincere words from Rei made my heart soar with joy, and I couldn't resist the urge to give him a big hug, "Thank you!"

"You're more than welcome." Rei said. We stayed like that for nearly a minute, before Rei softly pushed me out, "Now, let's get back to our business. Aren't you here to stalk Kouga? Where is he?"

"Well, he's in there." I said, pointing at the alley Kouga had just gone into.

"Then what are you waiting for. Let's go after him." Rei urged.

"Uhm!" I nodded.

We quickly followed Kouga's trace, hiding behind various objects in fear of being noticed by him. However, when I finally saw Kouga, a horrifying sight appeared before my eyes.

Kouga...He was surrounded by two other guys, a tiger and a wolf. I could see Kouga's torn-up jacket laying on the ground, and look like the other two was trying to take off his shirt as well. Oh no, they were going to violate him!

I growled deeply in my throat, my blood boiling as if it was a fire had just been lit in my chest. Rei shot me a glance, and we immediately knew what to do!

(Now back to Kouga)

Help me! Somebody, please help me! I thought desperately, tears rolling down my cheeks as the tiger and the woft successfully torn my jacket apart, now trying to take off my shirt as well. At that moment, his imagine suddenly flashed through my mind, but I couldn't understand why. Leo! I wanted him to come and save me, but deep down, I knew that was just a hopeless dream...

It went down to the point when I just closed my eyes and gave up, but...

"Arggg!!!" came a agorny roar. I brought my head up, and my jaw almost dropped: Laying unconscious on the ground was the wolf that tried to rape me, and standing next to him was a grey husky - Rei. He casted a menacing glare at the white tiger.

"Bastard!" the tiger growled in frustration as he saw his partner get knocked out cold, "Who the hell are you?"

"Who am I? You don't need to know." Rei replied coldly, "I just don't like what you're doing. That's all.". He winked at me, "Yo, Kouga. Sorry we're late."

'We' are?

"Damn it! You will pay for that!" the tiger threatened, baring this teeth and claws, but Rei seemed to ignore him, "Easy there...If I were you, I would watch my back instead."

When the tiger figured out what Rei meant, it had already been too late. From out of nowhere, a Shiba Inu jumped onto him, pinning him down and started throwing punches on his face. My eyes widened and my heart almost jumped out of my chest as I recognized the Shiba Inu. Leo! I looked into his eyes. They were burning with sheer hatred and anger. The white tiger was completely helpless as his face took more and more punishment.

He really came here to save me! Was this a miracle, or was I dreaming?

"Hey, hey! That's enough, Leo!" Rei snapped and grabbed Leo's shoulder to restrain the enraged Shiba Inu, "You're going to kill him!"

"R-Right," Leo said, breathing heavily as he stopped the brutal beatings, "Sorry, I lost control of myself.". He then stood up and walked over to me.

"Are you okay?" Leo asked softly, helping me to get on my feet. Overwhelmed by so many feelings, I launched myself into his chest and burst out crying, soaking his shirt with my tears. At that moment, I could feel Leo's arms wrapping around my back as he hugged me gently. It made me felt safe and warm, and I didn't really care if Rei, or anyone else was looking at us.

Leo embraced me for a while, then he sotfly pulled away, his hands were still resting on my shoulders. I brought my head up to look at him. The fire in his golden eyes was still burning, but this time, it was warm and soothing. I couldn't help but smiling when I looked into those eyes.

"Thanks goodness we arrived on time." Rei said, "Have those two bastards done anything to you, Kouga?"

I shook my head, "No, thanks to you guy. Although you could aways come sooner, before they fucked my jacket."

"I did apologize for being late, didn't I?" Rei said, giving me toothy grin, "Anyway, we're classmates, and classmates are supposed to help each other. Beside...(He glanced at Leo) I think someone will be very sad if anything bad happens to you."

I could tell Leo was blushing, and I started giggling to myself. I must admit, Leo looked really adorable when he blushed, and I quite enjoyed the way his white and brown fur turned slightly red.

"Alright, Kouga, I think you're safe now, however, just to make sure nothing bad will happen again...Leo, can you go with Kouga to his house?" Rei asked, which Leo answered by a nod.

"Perfect! Then I'll take my leave now." Rei said, waving me and Leo goodbye.

I waited until Rei had left and turned to Leo, "Alright, can you tell me what's going on now?"

"What's which the attitude?" Leo questioned, staight-faced, "Is that the way to treat the person who saved you?"

"Yes, you saved me, and I'm grateful for that, but I want to know what the hell are you doing here, in this alley? How did you know that I was in trouble?" I questioned again, "Were you following me or something?"

"Well, it...it's just a coincidence," Leo stammered, scratching his ears awkwardly, "I happened to...pass by when I saw you, almost raped by those two guys, so I saved you, that's all."

"Really?" I asked, leaning closer to him until our faces were just barely inches away from each other's, "I don't think such a coincidence exists. You can't spot me, unless you walk into this alley, and I can't think of any reason for you to walk into such a place, so don't give me that 'coincidence' crap. Answer me, Leo: Were you stalking me, or were you not?"

Leo tried to avoid my gaze, but I placed my hand on his cheek to prevent him from turning away, "Now, answer me."

Leo seemed to hestitated. Then, he took a deep breath, and looked into my eyes.

"Yes, I was following you." Leo admitted. Why wasn't I surprised? Because I'd already known the answer the moment I saw him and Rei.

"I knew it. So Kaoru was right: You were looking at me all the time during the test this morning, right?" I said, crossing my arms, "Why, Leo? What do you really want from someone like me?"

This time Leo didn't speak, but instead, he found another way to answer my question...

A kiss.
