Close to the Hornet's med bay, Hay planes, NSW, Australia

Dr Harry, Mike, Phil and Stanley ran as fast as they could through the ships dimly lit corridors all the while looking for any of the crew with little success, this all changed when they reached the door to the Med bay. Harry touched the actuator panel on the door frame hoping the ship still had enough power to open it but swore when the door didn't open to his command; he quickly opened a small compartment and activated the manual release which after a few pumps of the leaver retracted the door wide enough for the group to squeeze through. The Med Bay was in shambles with the room looking like a war zone; medical supplies were all over the floor as the shelves and cabinets were ether had collapsed or had been opened by the force of the crash and many of the medical equipment looked like it was badly damaged.

"Nia are you alright? Where are you?" Harry called out into the room before moving a fallen trolley to gain access; he searched for a while till a groan caught his attention. He and Stanley ran over to one of the Med Bay's recovery beds that had been dislodged from the wall and with a few grunts lifted the bed up enough to let the person underneath crawl out, "Nia are you hurt?" he asked as the woman got to her feet.

"No I'm fine, just a bit bruised" Nia replied then locked eyes with Mike. All his life Mike believed that humans were not alone in the universe but he never would have guessed that the first real alien he would encounter would be a very beautiful Anthro red vixen all he could do was smile and wave, Nia looked over him and smiled before turning to Stanley "are you imperials or natives?" she asked.

"No miss we're what you call Earthlings" Stanley replied "we mean you no harm and we're here to help" he pulled out his ID and showed it to her before turning to Mike, he was about to say something when a sound caught everyone's attention.

"Ah guys I think I broke something" Phil called out as he walked out from the Med bay's office holding a device that looked highly advanced but also ancient, when Henry grabbed it from the Archaeology lab back on Chimera it was in a containment field and was closed up like a dead insect but now it was open and small blue lights were glowing on the inside, "All I did was pick it up and it just opened".

Mike moved up to the device and looked at it closely, it looked to be worn on the arm like a wrist band which reminded him of the band of Anubis from the movie The Mummy Returns only it looked like something the Reapers from Mass Effect would cook up. He was in the process of reaching out for it when a blue beam shot out, it flattened out to look more like a scanning beam before running over Mike as if it were sweeping for concealed recording devices and the like. Within seconds the device had finished its scans, targeted his left wrist and fired the lower section strait for him latching on like a clamp. The rest of the device seemed to be guided by magnetic forces or some unseen tether locking it in place on top of the clap, Mike freaked out shaking his hand as if a large spider was sitting on it but the worst was yet to come.

Everyone watched as Mike tried in vain to shake the device off his arm, he looked like an arachnaphobic person trying to shake a Huntsman spider of his or her arm in a panic. Phil finally figured he would need help and went rummaging through the mess to find something he could use to pry it off, he had been looking for a few minutes when a very ominous sound caught his attention. "That doesn't sound good" he said and turned around to see the device change shape as if it were preparing to attack someone then Mike suddenly sank to his knees and screamed in pain his right hand clutching his wrist, "Mike!" Phil exclaimed and ran to his friend to try and pull the device off but he was flung backward by a pulse of energy.

Unbeknownst to Phil and the others the device had stuck several small needles into Mike injecting him with millions of tiny Nanites, the Nanites entered his blood stream and raced around his body subtly changing pieces of his DNA to be immune to harmful radiation, reinforcing his bones Wolverine stile with an unknown alloy, rewiring parts of his brain and nerves system for faster reflexes, modifying his Immune system to fight off everything from the common cold to HIV/Aids and toning his muscles to allow him almost super human strength all the while making sure Mike stayed the same person only better. Soon the pain became too much causing him to collapse on the floor, just before Mike lost consciousness he heard an almost artificial sounding feminine voice in his head "Biology analysed, augmentation process complete, stand by for AI symbiotic integration" the voice said and with that his whole world went black.

Harry and the others ran over to Mike and checked to see if he was alright, "quick get him on the bed" Stanley said and with Harry's help managed to pick him up and place him on the bed, Harry quickly began to examine Mike looking for any signs of life and was relieved when he got pupil dilation, it was only when he checked the other eye that he got a shock.

"Holy shit!" he shrieked as he saw what was happening before his eyes, Mike's hazel coloured Irises become a glowing blue rings with what looked to be three sets of strange symbols arraigned in a triangle shape around the circle. The symbols were changing so rapidly it was hard to make out; eventually Mike began to regain consciousness and quickly blinked a couple of times to get his sight back.

"God that was crazy, what happened?" he asked as he slowly got up, the others were dumbstruck at Mike's transformation; he had become a relative super soldier in just under a minute "ok now what happened? I feel like I could beat the crap out of Arnold Schwarzenegger" he looked at the others with a confused expression on his face.

"Hello hot stuff" Nia said looking over Mike's impressive muscular build "I would definitely take you into the Isolation room and give you a good time" Nia hadn't realised she said that out loud and instantly blushed.

Mike looked over his new body and smiled, "damn this thing is awesome, what the hell is it anyway?" he asked looking down at the device on his arm. The device seemed to react to the question by activating what looked to be strange coloured lights on the centre ridge.

"I can answer that" said a familiar female voice this time however everyone heard it. A small bolt of what looked like pure light shot from the device and coolest into a humanoid figure "Let me introduce myself, I am Alpha 2239 artificial intelligence created to serve the user of the B.A.N.D. unit"

"Can you use a form that's easier on the eyes?" Phil asked trying to shield his eyes from the intense light emanating from the AI's avatar. The AI just looked at him and nodded, within seconds the A.I. changed its avatar form to its last known configuration.

"This is the form of the ones who created me, will this service?" it asked, everyone gasped as they saw a beautiful Pantheress dressed in a white gown with two angel wings sprouting from her back. The group soon found themselves nodding and waiting for the AI to continue, "Now we have the current issue sorted I will answer any question you might have."

Jericho, Near the Admirals Quarters around the same time

Captain Marcus took a deep breath trying to calm himself, what he was about to do was regarded an act of treason and if he got caught he would be dead. He never thought that the Imperium would stoop so low as to annihilate an entire city from orbit but now he wasn't sure but one thing was clear now, he was ready to throw in the towel and go join the rebels, the first order of business was to get some bargaining chips and the best he could think of was Intel and lots. He popped his head around the corner and spotted his destination but it was guarded by two soldiers in power armour, he needed a distraction and fast if he was going to succeed.

"Guards get in here and help me!" said a muffled voice from inside the room; the guards opened the door only to get a massive EMP blast in the face. The guards fell down revealing Felix standing with an Anti-Synthetic pulse rifle in his hand "damn I didn't think these guys were gullible enough to fall for that" he said before looking around for any others. He laid his eye on the Marcus and beckoned him over "quick help me get them inside" he said as quietly as possible as the captain made a break for it.

It didn't take Marcus long to get to him and drag the two guards into the room before they were spotted. "So Felix, mind telling me why you're in here and why you have access to that kind of hardware" he said pointing to the pulse rifle, after all Felix was the Admirals personal assistant and would never betray the Imperium, this was a first for him.

"First thing, the Admiral had me bring this up for him to inspect, that was before he decided to play orbital bombardment and secondly I'm here to help these beauties get to the rebels" he said pointing to a couple of female Tigresses sitting on the bed, they both wore shock collars around their necks.

"Damn your crazy, I only came here to get a copy of the Admiral's encrypted files then get the fuck off this ship but you want to try and bust these people out, it seems we have the same goal of finding the Rebel ship before the Admiral finds it" Marcus replied before sliding a data chip into the Admiral's personal terminal. It didn't take long for him to bypass security then download the files, when the download was complete he activated his comm "this is Marcus to all loyal crew, I have the package meet me in the shuttle bay and prepare for departure" he said and tuned to Felix "lets role" he barked.

"Right behind you" Felix replied and moved to the two slaves "ok I'll deactivate the colours but once their off stay close" he whispered to them. The two slaves nodded and with a few taps on the collars lock the pieces of metal dropped to the floor "now just one last thing to do" he said walking to the two guards still on the floor trapped inside their power armour, he kneeled down next to them and fiddled with their power packs before walking out with the girls in tow a second later there was a series of muffled screams as the suits came back online then overloaded frying the occupants alive.

Hornet's bridge, NSW, Earth

Marcie hid by the door to the bridge waiting for it to open, she had a plan that involved a blaster on stun, some zip ties and a bridge chair with arms but with all the noise that she could hear she didn't know if it was one or an entire squad trying to get in. The door screeched open and she aimed for where she assumed the persons head would but stopped herself when Nia burst through holding a med kit, she immediately stopped herself from pulling the trigger breathing heavily as the adrenalin rush wore off.

"Nia, I all most shot you" she said trying to catch her breath she turned to the door and gasped as she saw a teenage boy with glowing eyes and an impressive build walk up, his arms in the air in a gesture of surrender, "so who is your friend and..." she trailed off when she spotted the artefact on his arm "what the fuck is he doing waring that artefact?" she suddenly blurted out raising her gun at him again.

"He's ok, his name is Mike and he along with two others are here to help" Nia said stepping in front of Marci's blaster "the containment field the device was damaged in the crash and his friend found it, it activated and well" she began to point out to the Wolfess before the device started to beep.

"I chose this human of Earth to be the one to wear the Biological Augmentation Nanotech Device or B.A.N.D. unit for short, I am Alpha 2239 this units artificial intelligence but you can call me Angel" the AI said startling Marci.

"Holy shit!" she said almost dropping her gun, she had seen many things but this was one of the most bazar things ever "that device has some sort of A.I. in it?" she asked.

Mike nodded "and with luck it can help you get this ship operational again, if you let me help" Mike replied, Marci nodded and lowered her gun "I take it you're the ship's captain, nice to meet you" he said holding a hand out, she took it in a hand shake and gave a weak smile.

"Yes I am, the names Marcie" she said before turning back to the bridge "he's ok you can relax" she called out and few moments later the rest of the bridge crew emerged from hiding all were carrying a gun of some kind. "Ok everyone; this is Mike a native inhabitant of the world we crashed on so no accusing him of being an Imperial spy" the crew nodded and began to introduce themselves.

Mike nodded a response to each till his eyes fell on Galadriana, almost immediately he began to feel like all the air had been sucked from the room, it was only when she touched his hand that he felt air return and time seemed to slow to a crawl. He looked into her topaz coloured eyes and immediately felt like he had found a lost piece of a puzzle that was his life, the moment was soon interrupted when Marci got his attention again.

"Ok Mike, you and I will go the engine room and see what we can do there, Nia and Kal will check on the Dock and the other two humans on board, Gecks and Galadriana will stay here and notify us when they have power" she said before turning to the helmsmen. The Dingo sat in a chair near the engineering station with a hand over his left shoulder "and Reece, you go with Nia and Kal to the Med Bay and get your arm looked at" she finished before dismissing the crew.

As the crew filtered out he turned around to see Galadriana smiling, she gave him a wink then went to sit down at the Navigation station, she sat down and span the chair till her back was to him. 'Damn she's hot' Mike thought 'I should talk to her but I don't want to say something stupid, maybe this is what love at first sight feels like' again he found it hard to turn away but managed in order to follow Marci out the door.

Galadriana chuckled to herself when his thoughts hit her sending a shiver down her spine, knowing what others were thinking was one of the cool perks of being a Telepath a gift she had since she was a child but never used all the time. She could tell he was the one to be her mate and he was already starting to fall in love her, all she had to do is get him alone and talk to him, gain his trust then try to make a bond, she knew he was closed off but she had full confidence in her ways of persuasion, as soon as Mike left the bridge she set about making her plans to woo this human from the planet Earth.
