The Dream That Turned Real|The Canine Underworld by Triple xXx Werewolf 2013 Subchapter 05: Like The Apocalypse, But Ten Times Worse! (12/11/13) Writing Style: Stream Of Consciousness
Starting from where we left off, HellHound charged at Feral for mocking him; Mog'Tro, a giant spider/scorpion demon, shot HellHound with a sticky webbing that he told the wolf was near destruction-proof. Hellhound unleashes his ultimate fury: a fiery supernovae that blows all the other characters into the giant crater, wiping the plane clean, as well as recreating it into what it should have been depicted as: the beginning of a new planet, or the end of an old one, as the ground was now broken up into large chunks, floating islands separated by a sea of molten lava that was making its way towards the other characters, who by now are conscious, and realizing what just happened.
Somehow, HellHound managed to rip through the time-space barrier when he blew up, and opened up a wormhole that unexpectedly leads to Earth, Realm of the Living.
Everyone moaned and groaned as they regained consciousness, trying to figure out what happened; Gornak is the last to wake up when a single fist-sized gob of molten lava lands in front of him, about a foot away. He scrambles to get away as the falling globs now turned into a steadily growing lava-fall.
Everyone looked at the dragon, Lupo's sidekick: Valdov, who's back was scorched clean by the blast, his back melted off, literally. His wings and tail, his whole spine- were ripped from his back as well, laying in large charred chunks on the other side of the crater. Lupo fell to his knees, mourning his loss of who he considered the most powerful dragon in all of Hell, before getting a hot reminder to scram, a fiery pebble thrown in front of the wolf, who then ran with the others.
Anthro, Feral and DemonWolf all merged with Mike before the explosion, keeping the Human from burning alive. Now they were somewhat in the clear, Anthro and Feral split off from Mike, leaving him with DemonWolfs' form as protection.
Dan found a new, more powerful variant of his Whip-Copter, transforming his whip into a small helicopter allowing him to fly around faster, and carry one passenger.
Mike's forms all had wings, and additional strength to carry two furs each on their backs.
Gornak climbed aboard the chopper, and using his magic, boosted the power of the copter as they lifted off first.
Ryan and Lupo got on Feral's back, and Feral promptly took off.
Corbin hopped on Anthro's back, spurring the werewolf to get his speed on.
Modruk and Mike were left, as the MegaDemon got onboard. With only seconds to spare before the lava made contact with his feet, he blasted it out of there as the crater started to fill with liquid rock, some boulders falling in with large splashes, some narrowly missing the werewolf.
Everyone found a large piece of land that had rose up from the lava some time ago, now cooled enough to set foot on, and were now waiting for Mike, who had flown out of the crater just as it disappeared under the molten rock.
The werewolf was trying his damndest hardest to get to the rest of the gang, who had MindLinked their location to him, when a giant lava bubble exploded, spraying magma up into the air, followed by the Lycan feeling lighter, then realizing that the MegaDemon had fallen off of him.
"MODRUK!" Mike shouted, a burst of speed coming to him. He sped toward the Demon, in hopes that he would catch him in time.
"I'm sorry, Mike, but it's been nice knowin' ya..." Modruk MindLinked to Mike as the Demon used the last of his energy to flip around to look at the werewolf one last time.
With a tear in his eye, Mike saw what had happened: the lava that flew into the sky had ripped Modruk's face and chest open on the way down.
"Modruk..." Mike said, watching his comrade fall into the sea of magma, slowly burning up on contact.
"MIKE, COME ON! WE FOUND A PORTAL! IT'S EARTHBOUND, WE BETTER GET A MOVE ON!" Feral bellowed as loud as he could to the werewolf who was no more than a football field away.
In an instant, Mike got his true speed on, blazing like a comet at a thousand miles an hour, he made it to land, hitting the ground running with everyone to the portal, everyone jumping through just as the land sank into the lava.
==================
In the wormhole...
What if this portal we jumped into takes us somewhere else? What if it's nothing but a black hole that's gonna crush us on the other side? What if this isn't real?
Those were some of the many thoughts racing around Mike's head, as everyone flew through the wormhole. The wormhole itself was a tube of swirling colors, some that they'd never seen before. Mike thought he saw some odd pattern of a wolf running through the colors, but he dismissed it in favor of seeing this portal to the end.
==================
On Earth...
It was a rough crash landing, but everyone survived the trip through the wormhole, piling up on each other despite their best attempts to avoid it, aside from Dan being spat out of the portal and onto a tree, sliding down to plop onto the others. Everyone passed out a few moments later, completely drained of all strength to stay awake, yet with the knowledge that they were finally safe, they were finally home..
The portal made some noise when it opened in Scarnwood Forest just northeast of the bar where Rokar was practising his portal-making skills, triggering a short but strong earthquake that rattled the timbers of all the houses in a thirty-one mile radius.
The resulting quake and explosion from when the portal opened up was enough to wake everyone in Ryan's house, and send a few furs flying off the bed before they could even get out of it.
Lycaon was normally a heavy sleeper due to his age, but that night, he felt something coming. Something big. This was that something. He instantly got up and out of Ryan's bed and ran to the other bedrooms to lock their doors using his magic to strengthen the doors.
Acting completely on instinct, he ran out of the house and looked straight up at the moon; it was full, but it was a very off color, a dark, grayish-red. Whats more, there was an Aurora Borealis trail that would lead him to the portal it was emanating from.
Letting out a low, blaring howl, his clothes were absorbed as he initiated his own Feral form, quadrupedal, about six feet at the shoulders, his fur an ashen white, save for a saddle of gray, black, and brown calico. His form moved with such grace, as he easily sprinted through the forest, then leaped high into the air, where he kept running until he was running atop the aurora; Such a sight would bring tears to anyone who witnessed the event.
Lycaon followed the aurora until he could run no more, and fell from the sky, realizing that he was just too damn old to continue, and crash-landed with a few rolls.
Finding some strength to stand, he shook himself of the dirt he was piled under, then walked the rest of the way.
"Why would Lycaon do this?! After all we've done for each other! Gnh!!!" Horscht shouted as he slammed himself into the door for the fourty-fourth time in a row before flailing to the floor.
"Horscht, let me try something." Rokar said, placing the exhausted bruin on the bed. He made his portal-opening gestures, and fired a bolt at the door, breaking the Wolf-God's spell. With a mighty roar, he sent the door flying at a hundred miles an hour.
"Alright! Way to go, Rokar!" Kraig cheered. "Now let's go see what all this hub-bub's about."
The Wolf-God continued his relatively short journey to find those he'd before failed to rescue.
"Uhh, can't believe I tried that." he sighed, "Everlasting life, my ass. It's become but a bitch these days."
The full risen moon was at his back now, as he came to discover the portal, and those who've returned from Hell... without his help.
The gang was hot on Lycaon's trail, weaving through the forest in the back of Horscht's pickup. After a few minutes of driving through the wooded hills, they finally found him, kneeling before a strange portal as Horscht shut the engine off.
[Truck door slams, sharp high-pitched whistle]
"Lycaon, you dirty Heretic! Why'd you lock us up back there?" Rick yelled at the Wolf-God before seeing the pile of sleeping furs, nestled up next to the trunk of a tree. His attitude instantly melted to one of gratituitus joy.
"Hey, is this your portal?" Rokar asked.
"It is not."
"Then where'd it come from if neither of us did it?"
"Perhaps someone on their side did it. Dan did say there was a lad that could do magic, but I forget who." Kraig said.
"I know Gornak used to be a mage, but I wouldn't think it was him." Rokar replied. "Portal-making was dangerous as sin in his eyes."
"Well, at least they found a way to come home." Kraig said as they carefully handled the sleeping furs into the back of the truck.
