Nine months later:

Xander sit in the chair next to the bed. He lift up the blanket to see his son's face. He sees that his son has a face of an Umbreon but with a Ninetales ears. Over the next few days, there is a flood of letters and cards to Marie for her new baby boy. Xander takes most of the letters and cards to Marie. Most of the cards are from Marie's family, which is kind of big. Xander's family sends cards and gifts too. He feels happy to have his new baby boy, An-yan in the world. Even Xander's supervisor Pete has sent a card to them. But Xander finds out three days later that Pete has died of heart failure and that he is being promoted to Supervisor. Not wanting to leave Ether out in the cold, Xander is allowed to make Ether his assistant. Marie stays in the hospital for about two weeks and is sent home with a healthy baby in her arms.
