#13 of Jason & The Unicorn

Finally! After months of working and brain-poking, it's beyond any doubt complete! Let me tell you guys that this chapter wasn't easy. There were times I actually thought of just canceling this story, but thanks to some good friends of mine, I kept on going.

I would like to thank for throwing in such awesome suggestions, especially on how to end the chapter. And last but not least, I would really, REALY like to thank for taking the time out of his busy schedule to edit this chapter. Seriously, bud--I owe you big time! Check out their work. Both of them are such amazing writers.

Now on with the chapter!

Jason stared down at his lustrous unicorn mate with his mouth slowly opening and closing soundlessly in a manner not dissimilar to a fish after hearing those words, contemplating whether or not what she had just said was true, or a joke, or a joke played on himself by his own ears.

"Y-You really mean that?" he asked her, his tone of voice carrying equal amounts of surprise and trepidation.

"Yes, Jason." Alyssa replied, nuzzling his bare smooth-skinned chest, "Your parents, Andrew and Diane, have been kept in the dark about me for long enough already. I told my parents everything about you when I asked to be changed into a human female that would please you, who and what you were and how I felt about you. I think it's only fair your parents know about me as well."

Jason didn't know what to say to that, honestly not knowing if there was anything that could be said at all. For the past year and a half he and Alyssa had got to know each other better than anyone else either of them had ever met, and yet Jason's parents had known nothing about his secret unicorn's existence. This had simply been because they both felt it was for the best that other humans shouldn't know that what they thought was a mythical creature actually existed, given what they had both seen human's doing to 'endangered' creatures despite their dwindling numbers. But in this unique circumstance, Jason understood it was the right thing to do to make an exception.

"You're right, Alyssa," Jason conceded, "They have the right to know about us, especially about our long, long future together. But...it's just....I just don't know how they'll react to all this...they're not really as open-minded as I am...."

"Jason," Alyssa spoke, bringing her head up next to his and kissing his cheek softly to calm him. "Just be honest with them. I've sensed many times that they love you very much and simply want you to be happy with your life, like how I feel for you. They may not understand all of this at first or even truly believe it, but if we give them time time, hopefully they will--just like my parents did for me."

Jason smiled back at his beautiful mare and ran his fingers through her gloriously soft white hair. He should've remembered that it was she who had already sacrificed everything she had: her friends, her family, her herd, even her own feral body paid as the heavy price to spend eternity together with him. What she had done was an enormous leap of faith that she made simply out of her deep love for him, and to try and turn away from taking any kind of risk or sacrificing anything in return was just utterly selfish.

"I don't deserve you, Alyssa," he said quietly, stroking her mane absently.

You have done so much for me already, Alyssa. He thought. I wouldn't be able to call myself a good mate for you if I didn't make any sacrifices of my own in return for your love as well.

Hearing every word he thought via her telepathy magic, Alyssa smiled warmly, leaning up and kissing her mate on the lips to help calm him.

"You've already done more for me than you'll ever know," she whispered to him tenderly, staring into his soft green eyes for a moment, "Now, I think it's about time you head on home Jason. You, or should I say 'We', have kept them waiting long enough."

Jason smiled and returned the kiss lovingly, having neither the will nor the true basis to argue.

Alyssa was absolutely right.

He didn't tell his mom and dad that he was going to be gone for the whole night, and he really needed to get back home as quickly as possible. All he told them was that he was planning to go over to a friend's place for a few hours--that was the excuse he always gave them when he went out to visit Alyssa at the breathing echo. He didn't think he was actually going to spend the entire night with her, hell he hadn't even know she had changed herself until he'd got there. All that was in his mind at that time was seeing his lovely unicorn again after her long absence.

Reluctantly, Jason let go of his mate and slowly got to his feet, stretching his whole body bit by bit to work the aches that had slowly built up while he had been laying there with his gorgeous mare as Alyssa watched him display his magnificently toned body in front of her, whether he knew it or not. The white-furred mare had been given plenty of time on her travels to see many human males without fear of them seeing her, and while she would confess that maybe a select few had bodies that were to her liking, she had long since found that not only were they scarce, but none of them were the kind of men she could ever see herself falling in love with, always far too concerned with their self-image and maintaining it for her to stand them. Jason on the other hand was the perfect mix, a man with a warm caring heart and always willing to listen when she needed him to, while still showing the benefits of his constant efforts to keep in shape. From her angle looking up at him from the ground behind him, she got a delightful view of his muscled back, cute curved bottom and his still 'messy' male equipment dangling down between his slightly parted legs. Though she knew he was already aware of it, Jason would not be capable of making a full-blooded unicorn male blush in embarrassment, he most certainly did not have anything to be ashamed of as far as human males went, and she could personally vouch that it was able to perform its intended task exceptionally.

The white mare was honestly fighting the urge to tackle him back to the ground and shove his manhood inside her drenched vagina all over again as she looked up at him.

"Oh Jason, why must you toy with me so?" she teased, sliding her fingers in and out of her warm pink-lipped slit, massaging herself sensually in front of her mate.

"I don't mean to, my love." Jason replied, chuckling at the sight he was greeted with when he looked back to her, "I'm just stretching, that's all. But look who's talking, Alyssa; you're giving me enough reason to get hard again with your own little display."

Alyssa giggled as her mate playfully crouched down to grab hold of her arm, removing her hand from her womanhood and suckling on her 'dew'-soaked fingers.

"Alright my eager stallion, enough with that for now." she said somewhat reluctantly, slowly pulling her hand away from his lips, "If we keep this up, we'll be doing this all day you scoundrel; I would not be opposed to such a thing at all--but your mother is probably worried sick about you by now."

Jason sighed in annoyance. He absolutely did not want to deal with his folks right now, considering just how far they could take seemingly small matters if they felt it was of great concern, but what choice did he have? Something as big and important as what had happened between him and Alyssa couldn't be dragged any longer than it already had been.

"Fine," he said, turning around to face her again, having to give his white-furred female a small wave to get her attention again after her eyes went straight to his manhood, "Can you please give me back my clothes so that I can get dressed then? I'd be in really hot water with the cops if anyone sees me naked in a public place--in a residential park, no less."

Alyssa nodded and giggled, knowing what their reaction would be from seeing the people Jason had called 'streakers' attempting the same thing before now. She got back to feet as well, her horn glowing a light sky blue for a brief moment, Jason jumping in surprise as his clothes appeared on his body fully smoothed out as if they had been ironed and cleaned in a blink of an eye, even his belt correctly fitted through all of the straps around the waistband of his pants. He examined himself thoroughly to see that everything was where it needed to be: white T-shirt, blue jeans, black belt, white shoes, wallet and iPhone, it was all there.

Jason smiled at Alyssa.

"Thanks," He said.

Alyssa merely smiled back.

Jason then pulled out his phone and turned it on to see what time it was. In the echo, due to its mysterious and special powers, there was no reception so he could not receive or make any calls to anyone. He could not even receive or send any texts. He and Alyssa figured it was for the best since they didn't want anyone to discover their secret hiding place--which was now their new home.

The clock on Jason's phone displayed 3:18 PM.

"Shit!" Jason cursed. "I didn't think it was this late! We've got to go now, hon! My mom has one of the worst tempers in history and it only gets worse the longer I'm out without calling her!" Jason blushed when he realized that he just called his mate 'hon' without knowing it. Just yesterday morning he never thought he'd refer Alyssa as something that most couples use such as 'hon', but now they were officially mated together beyond all doubt, and it had just come out naturally to him of its own accord. It was a strange feeling to know that he could finally say that, like a child taking a step back at a massive lego model he'd worked on for weeks after finally finishing it, and just as much pride welling up inside the young man.

Alyssa...is my mate, he thought, his heart swelling up with joy as though this, and I am hers.

"All right Jason, let's get going." she said, breaking him out of his momentary trance as she took a few steps toward the entrance and in turn exit of the breathing echo, pulling her mate's hand along with hers to make sure he followed.

Jason couldn't help but stared at her beautifully curved bottom as it swung left and right hypnotically as her tail swayed to and fro gracefully above it like a conductors staff directing the enticing wiggling going on beneath it. He somewhat begrudgingly shook himself out of it when it came back to him where they were going, reminding himself to keep his mind on track.

"You're not making this any easier for me, you know," he said as he caught up to her. "You showing off your sweet ass to me like that is asking for trouble, and you know it."

Alyssa giggled playfully, bending forwards slightly and wiggling it some more in front of Jason's face, the perfect firm white-furred cheeks wibbling erotically against each other, their tantalising swaying even exposing brief flashes of pink within the tight crevice that lay between the nicely curved mounds, Alyssa winked at him of her shoulder teasingly as she watched how helpless he was to keep his eyes from going straight down to it, finishing her little show for him by friskily scruffing her tufted tail against his face.

"What can I say?" she replied innocently, still making no attempt to stop him from gawping at her very attractive bottom even as she spoke, though he politely looked her in the eyes despite the very powerful distraction, "My great-great grandfather and the Elders may not have been able to turn me into human female as they originally intended, but they did at least manage to give me all that you desired from one, did they not?"

Jason smiled at her words, stepping forwards so he was beside her and kissing the kinky white unicorn affectionately on her left cheek as they walked, whereupon she turned to face him and hugged him close to her with her head resting upon his sturdy chest. It was a curious little habit that they seemed to have already picked up despite having only been 'officially' mated for just over a day, but they just couldn't seem to keep their hands off one another, sudden close hugs coming out of nowhere was simply the new norm for the two of them, both wanting to be as close to the other as possible.

Jason rubbed her naked back with his hands in return to her impromptu hug, feeling every curve that lay beneath her smooth snow-white fur with a newfound sense of joyful content-ness as he reminded himself for the thousandth time in the last few minutes that the woman in his grasp was his mate to have and to hold. He had to confess that Alyssa did have a very good point: while he would still have loved her even if she were still trapped in her regular feral Unicorn form, the Elders did indeed do an amazing job on giving Alyssa a body for any human female to die for.

"Hey my darling, as much as I love getting the chance to gaze your lovely new body...I think you should probably wear something before we leave," Jason explained, seeing his mate give him a confused look in response, "It's only because I don't think my folks-- my mom in particular --are going feel comfortable talking to a naked mythical creature with big bountiful breasts, let alone a mythical creature of any description. I hope you don't mind doing this for me just this once?"

Alyssa giggled and stepped back from Jason, remembering how hung up on things like 'decency' and proper-conduct many humans seemed to be in comparison. She had to confess many aspects of regular human culture simply didn't register in her head most of the time, as she didn't interact with any of them except for him, and he was a big exception by their standards.

As for Jason, he stepped back slightly and watched slack-jawed in awe as her horn once again began glowing a gentle iridescent mixture of sky-blue and white light, the shining aura instantly traveling down her horn and swathing over her entire body in a waterfall of gentle shining colour, hiding her form from view for a few brief seconds. He was reminded of how otherworldly this magic was by the fact that it didn't hurt his eyes at all to look at her as this happened, as if it were something that were simply so natural he had adjusted to it years ago, though it was the stuff of the more far-fetched fantasy. Then as quickly and smoothly as it had arrived, the light dissipated into the air around her as tiny glittering particles floating away on the soft breeze, and Jason beheld his beautiful lover dressed in a long white form-fitting cloak that covered her from neck to hoof. It hid her genuine figure with ease as was it's purpose, but didn't make her any less attractive, nor do much to hide the 'womanly' proportions of the female that wore it.

"Would this do, my love?" the white-furred mare asked him curiously, spinning herself around experimentally, the cloak sparkling like fresh spring water in morning sunlight as she did.

Jason was mesmerized at first, unable to muster a coherent reply immediately, but soon regained his composure and kissed his one and only unicorn on the cheek, hoping to kick his brain back into gear.

"If you're not perfect my love, then I don't want to know what is." he said softly, stroking her side softly.

"Jason," Alyssa cooed, blushing adorably as she looked up at him upon hearing his reply.

"I hope to meet your great-great grandfather soon, my love," Jason spoke softly, "I want to get the opportunity to thank him personally for all the things he's done for us. The way that you speak of him, and how much he must have given up on his own for us to be together, he sounds like a great man--er, stallion. Sorry."

Alyssa simply looked at her mate and smiled happily in response, it was really of no major consequence what they called each other, after all she still referred to Jason as her 'Stallion' whereas she should be called him her 'man'.

"You will soon enough, Jason," Alyssa replied, reaching up to touch his face softly, "And you are right. He is a marvellous stallion; there is just no other unicorn like him around. You and I wouldn't be where we are now if it were not for him."

"That's why I want to meet him and show him my gratitude," Jason answered, not wanting the matter to simply be pushed aside, "I owe more than I could ever hope to repay him."

"You already are repaying him, Jason," Alyssa smiled, kissing her bewildered human. "All he wants from you, my love, is to make me happy. That's what you're doing right now. As long as you continue to love me as you do now, that is all the payment he needs from you."

Jason smiled and kissed his lover's horn, which sent shivers of pleasure within the anthro mare.

"Until the end of time itself, I will always love you and be there for you, Alyssa," he declared, ignoring how corny it might have sounded just a few days ago before he discovered just how far the powers of her kind really extended.

"And I you as well, Jason, and that is a promise I intend to keep now and forever" Alyssa said, sealing their bond with yet another kiss.

The two of them walked hand in hand to the breathing echo's entrance with Alyssa leaning her head on her mate's strong shoulder. Jason's heart swelled up with pride of how extremely lucky he was to have the most beautiful and caring woman in the world as a wonderful mate. Alyssa could've easily chosen any stallion in her or indeed any herd as a mate and they would have gladly accepted, but instead she chose him, a human with no magical powers and who was barely starting his future career--not to mention the number of girls he had previously made love to just for pleasure before meeting Alyssa--to spend (almost) eternity with. It was not that he saw women as pieces of meat prior to any of this happening, but he had simply never felt anything more than a physical attraction to any of them with the one exception being his wonderful mare.

Before Alyssa revived his memories, Jason had wanted a relationship with someone rather than just being a casual lover, but after doing the typical traditions of dating such as asking them out, taking them to dinner, be invited to their place, having hot and steamy sex, Jason just didn't feel even remotely in love with any of the girls he's dated, like it was just a long winding process that lead to a disappointment at the end when he didn't find what he was looking for. But soon after spending time with Alyssa, thoughts of being with any human girls vanished entirely. He couldn't understand it at first, but he felt he didn't want to sleep with any of them again, like the one thing he'd been trying to find in them was what he'd found in her.

Standing in front of the portal leading back to the real world, Alyssa looked deep into her mate's emerald eyes with both her hands gripped firmly on his. She could see the uncertainty and fear that was burning away at the front of his mind as he thought ahead to his confrontation with his parents, but at the same time, there was the love and determination for his mate that was giving him the strength to continue through with it.

"I don't know how this'll work out, Alyssa, but I'll tell my parents everything about you, and about us, and that you're the only one that I can ever see being there for me." Jason stated with a new vigor present in his voice, his words carrying with them a conviction that he hoped would reach his mother and father when they came to hear them, "Whether they accept it or not, I just want you to know right now, Alyssa, nothing will ever keep me from being with you. If it means not speaking to them again because they can't allow me to make this choice on my own, then so be it. You're all that matters to me now."

"I know, Jason," Alyssa replied, "But let's not jump to any conclusions just yet."

Jason smiled at his mate's devotion to him.

"You're right," he said, taking a moment to calm himself a little, "We need to keep our heads on for this to work out well."

Alyssa smiled and kissed his cheek.

"Ready?" She asked.

He smiled and nodded.

Then just like that, without even needing to take another step, they passed seamlessly through the portal, back to the real world.

In the park grounds close by to the overgrown natural alcove of shrubbery and tree-branches that served as a visual reminder that the entrance was there, a little boy, no older than five years old, was tugging on his father's hand eagerly while his little sister was holding on to her father's other hand as he was bundled along, carrying a white unicorn plushie tightly under her arm. The boy yanked on his father's arm continuously for the older man and little girl behind him to move faster.

"Come on, Dad!" he cried still pulling on the adult like his life depended on it, "The spot is not too far away! The man might still be there!"

"Richie, I already told you," the boy's father said. "It was only your imagination, and you shouldn't have gone that far off on your own to begin with yesterday. Your mother and I have told you countless times not to go near strangers at all unless we're with you and we know them."

"I wasn't near him, Dad!" the boy said for the hundredth time, "I don't think he even saw me. He was just walking really fast into the bunch of trees and then he was gone! Poof! I think he vanished off the ENTIRE earth!"

"People don't just vanish, Richie," his father said with a hint of annoyance in his voice, the utter nonsense his son was spewing was trying his patience after agreeing to take him here on his day off from work, "You were probably just seeing things."

"I saw him, Dad, I saw him do it!" Richie pleaded, "He vanished into THIN air!"

"Alright, Richie, enough's enough," said a middle-age man as he stopped walking and yanked his hand from his son's grip.

"But, Dad!" Richie whined, throwing his arms up and down in frustration. "I saw the man disappear! I think he's a wizard just like Harry Potter!"

"Harry Potter!?" cried out the three-year-old girl, still holding onto her father's other hand. "Is Harry Potter here, daddy!?"

The children's father sighed again in frustration, neither very good at or wanting to cope with this, in truth he'd hoped this trip would keep the two of them quiet for a while so he could rest.

"No, sweetheart," he began calmly, "I already told you, Harry Potter is only a make-believe character from a story."

"But, Dad! How can he fake? I saw him on TV! I saw him do magic!"

"Julie, that was only done by special effects. It's--

Just then, the man heard his boy gasped at something: Jason and Alyssa, fresh out of the breathing echo, were making their way past the father and his children on the path--only they could not see the majestic unicorn mare walking right beside Jason with her left arm wrapped around her mate's right arm. The strong spell that remained over all her kind ensured that only the select few a Unicorn chose to reveal itself to could ever see it or hear it's words, to all others they passed by as undetected as a passing thought in another's mind.

"That's him!" the boy cried in sudden realisation, pointing at Jason. "That's the guy, Dad!"

Jason and Alyssa stopped and stared at the boy in confusion.

"Excuse me?" Jason asked innocently.

"I saw you here yesterday while I was playing with my squirt-gun!" the little boy replied excitedly.

"Do you know this young human, Jason?" Alyssa asked, not recognising the infant from any of her previous visits to Jason's home.

"No I don't, I've never seen him before." Jason mouthed to his mate, a look of pure bewilderment on his face.

"That's the guy that vanished, Dad!" the boy continued, pointing at Jason like he was a toy on display.

"Rich, I told you it's not polite to point!" the boy's father scolded him.

"Huh?" Jason said, completely dumbfounded at the situation.

"Sorry about that," the father apologized, a look of tired patience clearly written on his face, "My son's been letting his imagination get the better of him, didn't mean to trouble you."

"It's all good, no harm done." Jason said casually, waving it off. "Well, I have to go."

The young couple took a few more steps when the little girl went in front of Jason.

"Are you a wizard like Harry Potter?" she asked curiously.

"Julie!" the father said in a slightly louder voice than he intended, pulling her away from Jason. "Don't you ever do that again."

"Harry Potter?" Jason asked curiously.

"Yeah," the boy spoke out, getting close to confused young adult, "I saw you yesterday walking to the big trees and then you disappeared into thin air! Like how Harry Potter does in the movies!"

"Richie!" the father called out to silence him.

Jason's heart skipped a beat. He couldn't believe it. This child had spotted him walking into the breathing echo?

He then recalled the events of yesterday, and then immediately realized his blunder.

After receiving a mental image of his lover's return, Jason immediately grabbed whatever clothes he could find, rushed out of his room the instant he had put them on, automatically told him mother he was off to a friend's house as he rushed passed her, run out the front door, dashed to the park, not even bothering to see anyone was watching, and walked right in. He was just glad that thankfully the appearance of someone passing through it wasn't as ostentatious as it was often portrayed in cartoons, without any of the bright lights or flickers of lightning and the such that would make it painfully obvious what was happening.

How could I have been so stupid? he thought to himself, mentally face-palming.

"It's alright, Jason," Alyssa comforted Jason, "There's nothing to worry about. The youngling will forget it in time just as most children do at his age."

"Anyway, we must be going," the father spoke out, grabbing Richie's hand. "Sorry about that."

"It's alright, later," Jason said quickly.

He and Alyssa then continued walking. However, as they passed right by her, Julie saw a silhouette of Alyssa's figure starting from her horn to her long mane, sparkling like diamonds.

"A unicorn!" Julie suddenly cried, pointing at the "empty space" on Jason's right side, right Alyssa 'wasn't' standing.

Jason stopped dead in his tracks in sheer terror after hearing that.

No, no. Please let it just be her toy she's talking about. He thought.

"There was a unicorn standing right near that man, Daddy!" the little girl cried in excitement, jumping for joy, clutching her toy to her chest cutely as she bounced in place.

"Ugh! What unicorn, Julie?" Richie said, looking up at Jason with a look of disbelief, "I don't see a unicorn!"

"I did! I did!" Julie argued. "I saw a unicorn sparkling bright! She looked like she was standing up like a normal person too. She looked very pretty, like a fairy!"

"There's no unicorn, Julie!" Richie said. "I told you to stop talking about them!"

Jason had no idea what to make of all this, the whole thing seeming to be just too perfect of a disaster to be a coincidence. But then he felt Alyssa tugging on his arm, the white-furred mare motioning for him to keep walking, which he did so since there were no other options.

"Daddy, I saw a unicorn right next to the man!" the little girl cheered, still bubbling with joy.

The father just face-palmed, simply giving up trying to convince his children otherwise.

"That's it. No more TV for the two of you."

A few minutes down the path later...

Jason and Alyssa walked together quietly on the concrete pathway leading out of the park, Jason glancing over his shoulder and thinking back to the man and his two children. All the while Jason was mentally kicking himself for the stupid blunder he made yesterday.

"How could I have been so stupid?" he thought out-loud. "For the past two years I've been careful not to let anyone see me going there. But now, a kid saw me going into the echo, all because I didn't have my head on straight. Smart move, Jason."

Jason felt a sudden wave of ease coursing through his body, relieving him of his worry and tension. He looked to his right to see Alyssa with her eyes and her majestic horn glowing brightly indicating where sudden sensation of being at ease was coming from.

"Thank you, my love," he smiled, truthfully a bit embarrassed that she had to keep him in check like that.

Alyssa ceased her spell and blinked her eyes, returning the smile with her own.

"My pleasure," she said. "Jason, there's nothing to worry about, really. The younglings will eventually think it was only their imagination playing tricks on them at the end of the day. Sometimes, human children are able to see past our magic that adult humans cannot, it's why a lot of children sometimes tell their parents they've seen some strange little creatures out of your fantasy or that they've heard animals talking."

"Huh. Was that how I was able to see you back when we first met?" Jason asked, recalling the events to when they first met as children.

"Yes," Alyssa replied. "I was barely getting accustomed to my magic back then that my invisibility spell was nowhere near as strong as the other unicorns'. If it were, you probably would not have seen me at all even though you were quite young. I'm happy that it wasn't." she said bringing him in closer to her, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"Me too," Jason said, kissing her forehead. "But you're right. We have more important things to worry about."

"Yes, your parents," she said.

As the two of them walked out of the park and out onto the sidewalk, Alyssa started giggling, which caused Jason look over at her curiously, not quite getting what was tickling her so much.

"What's funny, Alyssa," He asked.

"Oh, I was still thinking of those human children back there," she replied with a bright smile, "The silly and innocent questions they were asking you got me thinking, and that's pretty much what our three children are going to be doing, asking well-meaning questions about everything they come across and getting up to mischief, among other things."

Jason smiled at that.

"Yeah, kids live such carefree lives," he said. "And it can also affect their parents as well. I remember my dad telling me--constantly, I might add--that he wishes for me to be a kid again really badly. He loved taking me to park to play, to buy me toys that I would instantly go wide-eyed over, and to see me smile like he was my personal hero." he chuckled, "I still cannot believe that I'm going to be a father pretty soon."

Alyssa smiled at that and brought a hand down to feel her stomach. She didn't understand how, but she could tell that in spite of their very vigorous attempts to sow a new life within her, her mate's seed hadn't flourished, leaving her still no closer to carrying his offspring. She felt a slight dredge from that, unable to think of a way to explain this to him when he seemed so proud at the thought of being a father, but she kept face with a determined expression, not letting him see the worry that was nagging somewhere in the back of her mind.

No matter how long it may take us, one day, I will be carrying Jason's children. she thought to herself as they continued to walk.

The rest of their journey through the streets passed pretty much uneventfully. Alyssa was simply admiring her surroundings as the thought of going to her great-great grandfather for guidance on being a mother as Jason digged out his phone from his pocket on a passing hunch, remembering that his might have missed a call from his mother when Alyssa removed his clothes from him the day before.

"I need to see if my parents left any messages for me since I have a signal out here," he explained to Alyssa when she looked at the small white device.

"Okay," she smiled.

As soon as Jason had his iPhone booted up, text messages, voicemails, and missed calls started spamming his screen. Texts from his mother flooded in saying, "WHERE R U!? WHY AREN'T U HOME!? YOU BETTER NOT BE WITH THAT GIRL!!!!" It just kept going and going to the point where the allotted memory for his inbox had been reached.

Jason cringed at all the messages on his phone. There were over a hundred messages from his mom while only one or two from his friends saying, "WHERE R U MAN? YOUR MOTHER CAME OVER ASKING FOR YOU!!!"

"Oh, fuck me," he said out loud.

"Later, love," Alyssa smiled and chuckled at her own joke.

Jason chuckled as well, though it didn't do much to relieve the deep feeling of dread that had settled on him.

"But seriously, my mom's obviously not in anything approaching a good mood right now," he explained. "I told her I was only going to be gone for a few hours yesterday. I wasn't even thinking at the time. All my focus was on seeing you again, Alyssa. How am I supposed to tell her about us when she's clearly already upset with me?"

"We'll think of something, love," Alyssa reassured him.

They continued on walking after this, neither one wishing to push the issue further. Alyssa saw some human couples walking while holding each other's hands as they laughed and talked idle nonsense to each other. More than anything she wanted to show herself to everyone so she can hold her mate's hand and have him listen to her talk about sweet nothings as he did the same to her as they kissed. Her heart was beginning to ache for that, but she knew to take one step at a time with her human-like body for now. Jason may not have been physic or had much experience with magical beings, but he knew her, and he knew when she was saddened about something; he could see through their unique spiritual bond that she was upset about not being able to show her affection for him as openly as any of the other women that were around them could. He too wanted to hold hands with her and hold her close like any normal couple.

Finally the two of them reached Jason's house across the street from them.

"This is it," Jason spoke in a low voice with a lump forming in his throat. "I might as well face the music now than let it drag out any longer."

"Hold on, Jason," Alyssa said, pulling on his arm. "Let it drag a bit longer. Come with me."

Alyssa pulled him to an empty field a few feet away, leading him to a big and thick bush she was all but familiar with.

"Why are we here?" Jason asked in confusion.

Instead of answering him, the anthro unicorn grabbed hold of Jason's hands and brought him down to his knees, smiling.

"You know what this spot is?" Alyssa asked.

Jason simply shook his head.

"Look up over the bush and tell me what you see," She instructed him.

Still bewildered, Jason got up and looked over the top of the bush.

"All I see is the front of my house," he said before going back down to his knees facing his mate. "Was there something else you wanted me to see?"

Alyssa giggled and shook her head.

"This is the exact spot where I hid when I found your house a year and a half ago," she told him. "I remember I was so nervous after all this time of finally finding you. I didn't know if you would accept me or reject me after learning the truth, it was a completely unknown outcome for me. But I took the risk anyway, and here we are now."

Jason simply hugged her close to him on hearing that, glad for her being here to support him as he did this.

"You're right, Alyssa." he said. "It's about time I take risks as well."

"I'll be waiting here, my love," she spoke, embracing him passionately while nuzzling his chest. "Try not to take too long. I need you by my side forever."

"I won't," Jason said, loving the feeling of her embracing him, something he wished would never end, "I feel lost without you near me."

Alyssa looked back up to her mate's green eyes and then kissed his lips yet again.

"And don't forget: We are bonded together forever," Alyssa explained. "No matter where you are, or how far you are from me, I'll always be there. You are my one and only stallion."

"And you are my one and only unicorn," Jason whispered smoothly.

After this, Jason reluctantly and very slowly released himself from her, getting to his feet and walking out of the cover of the bushes. He wanted more than anything to show the world his wonderful mate, but he knew in his heart no one would be ready to accept her for what she was. His parents would have to do for now.

"I'll be right back, Alyssa," He said, taking a few steps toward the opening. "I love you."

"I love you too," Alyssa said.

And with that, Jason slowly stepped onto his parents front yard, leaving his beloved Alyssa behind. His feet felt like lead weights pulling down on him with each step that took him closer to his front door. He knew he'd see her again soon--with or without his parents' approval, but it didn't really make him feel any less anxious about what he was about to do.

Jason opened the door slowly, bringing himself inside the little foyer as quietly as possible, his steps carrying as much trepidation as a graverobber's. He looked around the corner into the kitchen silently as he closed the door behind him for any sign of his parents. It was quiet; no signs of the TV on or the sink running or anybody ironing.

"...M-Mom, Dad," he called out timidly, "I'm home."

He then slowly walked toward the stairs in front of him to call out to the second floor.

"Mom! Dad!" he yelled upstairs, thinking that they may be asleep.

"In here, Jason," came his mother's voice from somewhere off to his left but in an unusually emotionless tone, "But your father is not home yet."

Jason slowly crept into the living room feeling his blood pumping hard in his veins with cold sweat beginning to form on his forehead. On the other side of the room, he could see his mother sitting on the couch with a glass of quite flat lemonade in one hand and a crumpled up tissue in the other. Jason could see used tissues all around her with both her cell-phone and the house phone on the coffee table. Jason got a better look at her face as he stepped into the room at her request: her usually warm green eyes were dull and red around the edges from the hours of crying and lack of sleep, not to mention her hair could use a good brush right then.

"Your father isn't here, I'm afraid," his mother spoke again, startling him a bit. "He's out looking for you all over town, while I'm here with both phones seeing if you will call or anyone else calls about you."

"Mom..." Jason spoke in a low voice, feeling very guilty for putting her in this situation, although he couldn't help but think she was over-reacting just a little.

"Oh, don't mind me," she spoke in a cold monotone while getting up from her chair and waving her face with her right hand to rid the incoming tears. "I'm just under the weather, I guess. Come, sit down; make yourself comfortable. I'm sure we have a lot to talk about."

"Mom, we--"

"Sit!" Diane ordered in a tone hard as steel.

Jason obeyed instantly without question. Whenever his mother got like this, there was no point in arguing with her, she simply wouldn't hear anything other than her own opinion on the matter that had forced her into such a distraught state.

"Now, let me call your father while I fix you up something," she said as she grabbed the house phone and then walked through into the kitchen.

Jason sat quiet and still in one of the chairs as his mother left. He could hardly believe that the situation at home had become this bad in such a short space of time. How was he supposed to tell them all of what he'd come there to tell them when his own mother was already so far gone? Just then, he heard the glass of half-full lemonade as well as his mother's cell phone trembling on the coffee table as if there was a mini earthquake happening. Jason was about to wonder what was happening when Diane walked back in with a glass and pitcher of lemonade in her hands. She placed the glass in front of Jason and the refilled her own glass and sat back down in the same chair she'd got up from with a heavy sigh.

"Your father should be back soon," she said not looking at her son but the lemonade glass in her hand. "He was glad to hear that you are okay, but he also mentioned some...vulgar things I won't repeat, and then he said he's on his way now."

"Mom, I--"

Diane shot him a cold glare, silencing him instantly.

"Now, tell me, Jason, my son," she spoke again, "How have you these past twenty-four hours?"

Jason wanted to speak, but no words came out. He felt like a butterfly pinned to a wall being asked to fly, he simply couldn't react under such intense pressure from her.

"Were you out with your friends?" Diane asked again, this time more forcefully, "Did you go out of town? Did someone hold you against your will? Did you get that bimbo pregnant!?"

Jason felt his blood boiling when his mother referred his unicorn as a "bimbo".

"Don't you ever call her that again." he replied that in a cold hard tone, beginning to feel less sympathetic for his mother.

"Call who what, Jason?" Diane probed, "That...Alyssa girl you mentioned two days ago? Back when you were in a sorry depressed state because she broke your heart, but you two made up yesterday and then the tramp spread her legs open FOR YOU TO PLOW IN!? IS THAT THE DIRTY BITCH WHO I'M REFERRING TO!?"

"YES!" Jason bellowed back at her, his patience already at a breaking point after coming home to try and be honest only for his mother to start insulting the love of his life without ever having met her, "DON'T YOU EVER CALL HER THOSE DISGUSTING THINGS AGAIN, YOU ARROGANT SOW!"

*Crack!*

The cups and pitcher of lemonade that Diane had placed on the table splintered and shattered right after Jason's yelling, sending the sugary sweet carbonated drink all across the coffee table and dripping over the edges down onto the floor.

Jason and Diane looked down simultaneously to see what had just happened; both were stunned and confused for a brief moment, though Jason had a slight hunch what the cause of this was. However, Diane glared back at her son one more time before going into the kitchen to get a rag to clean up the mess without saying a word. Jason stared at the broken glass and liquid on the table in confusion, speaking up a few moments with a hint of fear in his voice.

"Did I...just..."

"Okay, I don't know how the hell that happened," Diane said before he could finish, coming back in with some rags and a waste basket, going down on her knees clean it up as she spoke, "But that's not going excuse you from all of this, Jason Hausmeister! You obviously made it clear you were with that girl last night, weren't you!?"

"Yes, mom," Jason said finally. "I was with Alyssa last night. That's why I came back home to tell you. Alyssa and I are..."

"What!?" Diane bellowed, looking at her son straight in the eye. "What are you and Alyssa!? In love!?"

"Yes, mom. We're in love. I've been in love with Alyssa for a long time now! And she's been in love with me! Yesterday, she called me and told me to meet her at our usual spot. There, she confessed her love to me, and I confessed my love to her." Jason said as levelly as he could, hardly believing that he was actually having to do this even after the bad start he'd already had.

"So what did the two of you do after confessing your 'love' for each other!?" Diane asked, getting angrier by the second, "Please, oh please, don't say the two of you had sex!"

"...shouldn't that be obvious by now, mom? I mean, it's not like it's that out of the question for me to want to do that." Jason replied, blushing.

"O-Oh, god!" Diane said, getting back to her feet and pacing back and forth with both of her hands pulling on her short brown hair. "Oh god, no! Please god, no! Oh please, please, god, no!"

Jason was about to get up to comfort her, but just then, he heard the front door opening back in the hallway before the sound of it closing followed soon after, and sure enough seconds later he watched his father walk into the living room with a livid expression on his face.

"There you are!" Andrew stated at Jason. "Where the hell have you been?"

"Your son was out with a girl last night!" Diane shouted, nearly hysterical, "Having sex! Sex! Unprotected sex!"

Andrew turns away from Jason, utterly aggravated at how far out of hand things had got in the short time he'd been gone, looking down at the shattered glass and messed up coffee table and rubbing his forefingers against his temples.

"Listen, Mom, Dad," Jason spoke up in his defense, hoping that he could at least get the chance to explain himself, "I don't know how else I can say this other than Alyssa is the love of my life, but not only that, she's...different than any other girl I've ever met. Hell, she's different any other girl you two have ever met."

"Oh, spare us the 'she's like no other' crap!" Andrew, Jason's father, spat back at him fuming, "Don't you remember your mother and I were kids once? We're very familiar with that kind of feeling, but just experiencing it doesn't mean it's right."

"But we both knew not to go out and do it right after that!" Diane joined in, seeming to want to cement her argument now that she had her husband to back her up, "We waited until we were ready to have you. I had friends who got knocked up early on and because of that, their futures turn to dust!"

"This is different!" Jason argued. "Alyssa isn't looking for just a casual relationship or even just being closer than boyfriend and girlfriend, she wants to get pregnant so she and I can start a family!"

"Oh god, no!" Diane pleaded, throwing her arms up and tears in her eyes. "Please make it stop!"

Andrew held his wife close to comfort her as she cried on his chest.

"Mom, Dad, let me be frank," Jason said, more than at his wits end with how unwilling his parents were to listen to him before they made up their minds, "Alyssa is...is..."

"Is right here."

All three heads jerked around at once to the hallway to see an unspeakably beautiful young woman with white flowing long hair, ocean-blue eyes, and smooth white albino skin wearing a long white cloak covering her body from neck to toe standing there with an innocent smile on her face.

Andrew and Diane stared at the young woman in awe, while Jason stared at her in utter disbelief. His mind was just a little bit too overloaded at the moment to suddenly accept the sight of his beautiful mare in the guise of a human woman when he'd already been informed of how the spell to cause that failed.

"...A-Alyssa...?" he spoke out, hoping that his trepidation wasn't too audible, or at the very least masked as surprise.

The young woman looked at Jason and smiled, giving him a small nod.

"Hello, Jason, my love," she said, walking over and standing next to him as he sat in his chair "I'm sorry to keep you waiting. Mr. and Mrs. Hausmeister, I am sorry for getting you upset at your son. I was at fault for forgetting that he had to be home last night."

Jason invited Alyssa to sit next to him and hugged her close to him, whispering in her ear as he did so, "Love, I thought that you were unable to turn yourself into this the last time you tried."

"It's not a full transformation" Alyssa replied mentally, "It's an illusion that will make it seem like I am interacting with everything around me like a human woman until I choose to reveal myself to your parents. They aren't in the right mind to accept me just yet."

"Okay." Jason answered before turning back to his parents, hoping that this next part would be a little smoother if they still had the sense to keep up an appearance to a house guest, "Mom, dad, this is Alyssa. Alyssa, this is my mom, Diane, and my dad, Andrew."

"Pleased to finally meet the young lady that has captured Jason's heart." they both answered happily, making Jason blink blankly at the sudden change of atmosphere in the room, "Please have a seat, relax and get to know each other. We would love to get to know more about you."

Jason was shocked beyond belief. Not a minute ago, his folks were ready to rip Alyssa's head off, but now they were acting as if he just brought home his first date from high school. The only thing that came to mind was that they had a mental image of a Alyssa as a really untrustworthy and rather 'easy' girl that had managed to fool their son, and the sight of such a refined woman must have completely knocked them off course for the moment.

Deciding to let it go for now rather than complain at the only good luck he'd had thus far, he sighed and sat back in his chair with his mare-in-disguise sitting next to him, nervous about what his parents were going to ask them.

"Don't worry love." Alyssa comforted him through their mental link, "Let them ask their questions. It will help them to calm down after being so worried about you and give them something else to focus on rather than questioning where you've been."

"Mr. and Mrs. Hausmeister," she asked out loud in a soft feminine voice, "What would you like to know about me?"

"How long have you known each other?" Jason's mom asked softly before continuing, "What are your plans for the future for the two of you? As well as should my husband and I expect any future grandchildren anytime soon?"

Alyssa took a short breath before answering, knowing that her next words would have to count, as she was now effectively attempting to barter her acceptance from Jason's parents, and they still had no idea what she really was.
