Frostbite Versus Jack
I sat down at the table across from the husky, "You ready?" I asked, rolling a pair of six-sided dice, "Monopoly rules?" I asked as the dice tumbled across the table."Sure." Jack replied. The dice stopped as he said this, one landing on a three, and the other on a four, "My roll." the husky said, rolling the dice. One die landed on a five, while the other fell to the floor on a four. Jack decided to go first."I'll start us off with a Forest and tap that for a Font of Fertility. You can go now." Jack announced. I drew a card."I'll do the same as you. A Forest and a Font. Go." I narrated."Alright, I'll play a Plains then tap both of my lands to play an Oreskos Sun Guide." Jack said."I'll draw. I'll play a Plains as well, but I'll sacrifice my Font to get another Plains tapped." I explained."I'll play another Forest and tap my Plains to give my Sun Guide an Ephara's Radiance. Your turn after I hit you for two." Jack mused."Sure thing, I'm at eighteen." I accepted, drawing a card after changing my die to that mark, "I'll play a Forest and summon an Observant Alseid. Your turn.""At the end of your turn I'mma sac my Font." Jack interrupted, "I'll then untap my Guide to gain two life. I'll summon a Setessan Battle Priest and enchant her with a Karametra's Favor, gaining two life. Pass.""Draw. Forest. Font of Vigor. Swing for two with my Alseid." I offered."I'll block it with my Battle Priest." Jack responded."And in response to that, I'll give my Alseid a Feral Invocation to kill your Priest." I interrupted."Okay. My turn?" Jack asked. I nodded, "I'll pass...""My turn." I confirmed, "I'll summon a Font of Fertility. Then I'll bestow my Alseid with a Nyxborn Wolf. Swing for seven.""I'll block it then tap my Guide with Ephara's Radiance to gain three life." Jack replied, sighing."Go." I motioned. The husky drew."Setessan Oathsworn. Pass." the husky sighed."Draw. I'll play Ajani, Mentor of Heroes and sac my Font for a Forest. I'll also use Ajani's +1 ability to look at the top four cards of my library...uhm...I'll put the Humbler of Mortals into my hand." I narrated,
"Swing for another seven.""I'll take it." the husky said to my surprise. I looked at my hand, which was the card I had just put there. I looked at the husky's hand and wondered what he could be hiding there."Your turn." I replied warily."Draw." the husky said with lackluster, "Forest, Nylea's Disciple. I gain four life.""I suppose it's my turn?" the husky nodded at my question, "Alright then. I'll play a Humbler of Mortals and use Ajani's +1 to give my Alseid three +1/+1 counters. Swing for ten.""I'll take that." the husky mumbled. I was surprised. I didn't expect Jack to be the type to give up."Your turn." I motioned."Okay." Jack sighed, "'Nother Disciple. I gain six life this time. I'm at twenty.""You're just stalling at this point, bud." I noted."Just go." the husky insisted.I drew a card, intending to end this on this turn, "Darnit..." I muttered, "Okay, I'll play a Griffin Dreamfinder and a Plains, returning a Font of Fertility to my hand and playing it. Then I'll put three more counters on my Alseid. swing for thirteen.""Sure." Jack mumbled, moving his die to seven, "I'll assumed I can go now." the husky took my nod as a yes and drew a card, "Setessan Griffin, your turn.""Good deal. I'm sorry." I mumbled, "I'll Sunbond on my Alseid, then sac my Vigor to gain seven life and put that many counters on my Alseid and put another three on her from my Ajani and swing for too much damage for you to block and survive. I win the first game.""Next!" Jack said with sudden enthusiasm, causing me to jump in surprise and knock my chair backwards. The husky giggled at this, asking if I'm alright."I'm fine, you wanna go first this time?" I asked, "I need to change soon, or is that you?""No, you can. And I think it's both of us. And maybe Zarv." the husky joked. After we shuffled and chatted idly, we were ready to go again."Then I'll open with the same turn as last time." I said, placing the Forest on the battlefield immediately tapped and placing down the Font."Ditto." the husky said after drawing, smiling."I'll play a Plains and sac my Font for a Forest. Go." I added."I'll play a Plains as well and play a Font of Vigor." the husky narrated, "Go.""Draw. Strategic play! I'll play a Plains and summon Nylea's Emissary. Pass." I explained."Alright! I'll play another Plains and summon a Nyxborn Wolf. Go." Jack quickly said."I'll play a Forest and bestow an Observant Alseid onto my Emissary. Swing for five trample damage." I offered. The husky accepted by changing his die to fifteen."I'll go then..." the husky said with sudden sadness, "I'll sac my font after playing a Forest for another Forest and pass.""Sure." I accepted, "Bestow a Nyxborn Wolf onto my cat here and play a Forest. I'll swing for eight.""I'll just concede." the husky joked, "Nah, but I'll take the damage. Alright, I'll play a Setessan Starbreaker and destroy your Alseid.""Damnit." I swore, "My turn?""Sure." Jack confirmed."Kay, I'll draw." I started, "I'll swing for six.""I'll take it."
