Ch: 4

The first thing Nikoli knew was pain. Pain throughout his body, he slowly opened his eyes and his vision was too unfocused for him to see anything. "Why's that? And who are ‘they'?" He asked.

Nik loosed a heavy sigh. "That something was me. I fought him a long time ago. His name is Sinra." He said.

"Sinra? What a funny name. Who would name their son Sinra?" She asked, a laugh barely kept hidden as she said this.

Nik eyed Deni, how was it she was acting like this, when they were in such a situation. He pondered on how she was so calm, and was able to crack jokes.

"That someone who named him was my father. Sinra is my brother." He said.

Deni froze, she eyed him carefully. "There is more to this than I know, isn't there?" She asked.

"Yes, Sinra is my brother. He isn't an actual white, he is a black, like me. However, he is an albino. He doesn't like me much, especially since I was originally mated to the female he had been courting for awhile." He said, a sadness, and almost tiredness apparent in his voice.

"You had a mate? What happened to her? And why didn't you tell me this before?" She asked.

He said, now bitterness was in his voice as the painful memories flooded his mind. He strained against his bonds, to no avail. However, it wasn't I who killed your precious mate and unborn child. I know you find it hard to believe, but I'm not evil." He said, an odd smirk was on his face, mocking Nik.

Angered even further, Nik lunged against his bonds, which held him fast. Despite his strength, Nik couldn't break them. "YOU LYING COWARD!!!! YOU HONORLESS BASTARD!!!! I know you killed her, and I will kill you, for this, and for killing Anya. I swear I'll FUC----"

Nik was cut off as Sinra struck him hard with a fore claw, hard enough that it knocked Nik back against the wall.

"DON'T YOU DARE INPUNE MY HONOR! I should kill you right now for such offense." Growled Sinra, his fangs bared, and dripping with saliva, almost like it was venom. He leaned back and calmed himself down.

"I have my reasons for this. For I know you, Nik. I know you better than you know yourself. I regret having to do this, but I have no choice. This was the only way to get you to sit still long enough so I could talk to you. And to show you that I don't have ill intentions, I will release your new mate." He said, and he turned to her and asked, "And what is your name? My dear."

Deni laughed and if she could have, she would have spit in his face. "None of your damn business, you albino freak." She said.

Nik smirked at this, Deni had a lot of courage, to stand there, chained, and insult someone like his brother. To Sinra's credit though, he merely shrugged and turned back to Nik. "I see why you like this girl. She is just like you. But what do you think of my offer? I let her go, and you agree to talk with me?"

Nik pondered for a minute. He knew his brother was up to something, his brother was always up to something. But maybe this could be his one chance. Finally he said,

"Ok, brother. Release her, and take this damned muzzle off, and we'll talk."

Sinra laughed, and went to Deni and said, "Oh brother, I am not stupid. I know what you will do once I take that muzzle off. I designed it so you could talk, but in case you haven't noticed, you can't use your flame breath, or your power's, without doing serious damage to yourself." He said. He then made a motion with his right fore claw, and the other too dragons appeared. The red dragon, Nik recognized as the one that was at the village gate, and the other, Nik didn't recognized. He said, as he reached for the shackles around her mid-section. Nik inadvertently growled, to which Sinra laughed, and produced a key. He then proceeded to unlock her bonds. Once they were all off, she lunged at Sinra, but was immediately restrained by the two dragons. "Easy my dear. Remember, you don't hurt me, they don't hurt you." He said. He then turned back to Nik.

"Now. I have a proposition for you, brother. One that will benefit the both of us, and maybe bring some peace to your mind." He said.

Nikoli stiffened, and likewise, Deni did. Before he could answer Deni said, "Sinra, please, let me go to Nik. Let him go of his bonds. Please." She begged, quietly. Sinra regarded her, and then nodded. The two dragons released her, and he handed her the key. "I put faith in you." He said. She slowly walked past Sinra, and then hurried to Nik, where she began to remove his bonds. As she did so Nik looked at her, and nuzzled her. Deni nuzzled him back, and then Nik said to Sinra.

"Ok Sinra. Who is this dragon? And why do you need my help, or why have you come to me? I know you loved her as well. Why didn't you kill him yourself?" He asked.

"Well, this dragon is named Gustav. He's very powerful, and has some very powerful friends. If I were to have attempted killing him alone, then it would have been for nothing. But us together.... He won't stand a chance." Said Sinra.

"So why do you think me and you can do this? If he's as connected as you say." Said Nik.

"Do you remember when those 7 dragon's ganged up on us? Remember when we fought back to back? Trust me, we can handle this. Plus we have my comrade's here, as back up. We won't be alone." He said.

Nik thought for a moment, then looked at Deni. He didn't know what to do. On one hand, he had the chance to avenge the death of his mate, on the other, he had to worry about his new mate. "What do you think Deni?" He asked.

Sinra nodded. "I understand brother, but you know I can't do that." He said.

"Wait a minute. No way in hell am I staying behind. I'm going along, I want to make sure my mate makes it back in one piece." Protested Deni.

"The more, the bloody merrier. Be forewarned, there will be a lot of blood, a lot of pain, and the chance of us dying, is very, very likely." Said Sinra.

Sinra then turned to leave, his friends following. As they were walking away Sinra said, "The Red one is Kaga, and the Green one is Svenn. They'll be assisting us. We leave tomorrow." He then walked away, leaving Deni and Nikoli alone.

Nik looked at Deni, and she through her arms and wings around him, embracing him. Nik squeezed her back. "I'm so sorry about all this Deni, and I love you as well. You must be pretty mad at me." He said.

Deni looked at him and shook her head, "No. But I don't like your brother. He's very creepy. I think he's lying to you." She said.

Nik nuzzled her and said, "Oh, I'm sure he is, but its still worth finding out. But you don't know my brother like I do. I could read it in his eyes, he wasn't lying about this. He was in love with Anya. He wanted her so bad, and its true, he was very jealous of me. He may lie about him being the culprit, but I don't think he would make this story up. If he wanted to kill me, he would just admit killing Anya, and fight me until one of us died."

"I've never seen him act like this. I think that's why I believe him. He's being sincere, I know he is." Said Nik.

"I know, but you see, if he had just approached me, I would have attacked him on sight. So I can't say as to I blame him for that." He said.
