Ashley pushed her wheelchair along the path leading towards the newest complex that was in development at Hybrid Heaven, a sense of excitement and anticipation flowing through her as she eagerly made her way to check it out as quickly as her wheels could take her. Having lost the use of her legs following an accident in her childhood, she had relied on it to get her around from point A to point B. She kept telling herself that she’d get an electric wheelchair at some point to make travel a little easier, not to mention faster, but the reliance on forward momentum from her arms did at least help keep her active to a degree.

“I’ve been losing sleep over wanting to see this!” She beamed, propelling herself along the slight incline - thankfully, the many, many pathways across the island had been built with disabled and handicapped access in mind, offering both steps and ramps, alongside escalators and lifts, meaning she was rarely ever stuck trying to get anywhere. She was going so fast up the ramp, her momentum didn’t change when the ground returned to being flat, the over enthusiastic girl unable to slow herself down in time to stop her from bumping against the doors to the new complex.

With a couple of quick beeps, the lights changed from red to green, and the doorway opened, revealing what lies beyond to her.

“Woah…” Her eyes went wide as she looked upon the massive, sprawling cityscape that was laid out before her, hundreds of buildings and office blocks, several of which were towering towards the heavens. A vast park could be seen in the middle of everything, plenty of lush, green trees dotting the landscape, an overground railway carrying a train through various parts of the city.

“Look at this place, they really went all out on creating it!” She rolled herself into the great town, taking a look around her. Buildings, parks, trains, flowing waterways and plenty of neon signs, really the only thing the town was lacking appeared to be any sign of human life. “I will say this feels eerily like a ghost town though without anyone else being here…” She rubbed her arm - the old saying went that it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop, in this case you could drop a feather and you’d be able to hear it touch the ground.

“Would it have killed them to add some speakers here and there to simulate noise, or even put a few cardboard cutouts of people, just to make the place seem somewhat alive?” She asked herself. Everything else was more or less dead-on perfect, but the soul-crushing silence was a bit of a bother to her.

“Still, I suppose for the time being, it’s to be expected - hell, I’m surprised they’ve managed to progress this far in the span of a few months!” Ashley followed up with a slight smile. “It almost makes me feel bad for what I’m about to do to everything!”

She wheeled herself into a wide open space in the middle of everything, taking a good look around herself before she closed her eyes, focusing on something deep inside of her. You see, just like with all of the other inhabitants that dwelled within the island sanctuary, Ashley was able to transform at will into a creature. In her case, however, it was something fairly different from what most of the other islanders there, and given what she was able to transform into, it was surprising that there was nothing properly set up for her and similar shifters to be able to entertain themselves. Well, until today at least. Her eyes snapped open, the light purple now a vibrant, glowing green, a smirk crossing her lips.

“It’s been a little while since I’ve gotten to do this!” She said to herself, green, crocodilian scales beginning to grow outwards through her flesh. They worked their way up her arms, slowly spreading towards the rest of her body, whilst the scales on the inner parts of her arms turned a lighter shade of green. As the scales wrapped around her arms, the muscles in them began to swell and inflate, the limbs slowly swelling in size, causing the sleeves of her shirt to strain.

“Oh yeah, I missed this!” She chuckled, the sleeves slowly splitting down the middle, her biceps outgrowing the fabric. Her body was showing signs of growth as well, and not just in the muscle department - she appeared to have gained at least three feet in height, her body taller vertically, her stomach now exposed.

Ashley curled her hands into fists as the scales worked over them, long, sharp claws working their way out through her nails, splitting them down the middle. “And I was beginning to think I’d never get out of that damn wheelchair, either~” Ashley grinned, running her claws over her legs. Despite being unable to use them in her human form, in her transformed state, she was able to use them as if nothing had ever happened to rob the use of them from her. It was quite liberating to be able to take a nice stroll every so often, but the lack of support for what she was up to this point had been stifling to say the very least. She knocked the chair aside, pushing it towards a conveniently placed drop-off point - she didn’t want it to get damaged, as she would need it once again when she wanted to revert back to being a human. In a way, it was strange, seeing that in some cases, the positive effects of transformations tended to persist after they changed back - she’d seen plenty of people who had lost teeth whilst as a human, yet had a full set of them upon returning to what they were.

The protrusion at the base of her spine grew beyond her body, muscle and scales wrapping around it as quickly as it snaked outwards, forming a thick, whip-like tail that lashed at the ground. Ashley herself was still growing as well, her clothing struggling to contain her altering form, especially her increasingly larger breasts. “That’s a little better!” Shi laughed, charging towards a row of houses, stomping down upon them. They virtually erupted from the sheer pressure being applied to them, the sound of walls and floors collapsing and splintering underfoot ringing through the area. Even then, the lack of any kind of screaming still proved to be a slight mood killer.

“It’s really not the same… still, at least there’s a lot of stuff to wreck!” Shi leapt towards another skyscraper close to a hospital. The running jump ensured that shi ripped the taller building mostly clean from the earth, bringing it down on the hospital, flattening it with the impact and hir weight.

“I could really do this all day!” Ashley cackled, brushing hirself off as shi got back to hir feet. “Although I suppose I better stop for a moment, they did want me to specifically TEST this place out and not completely destroy it, after all…” Shi moved hirself away from the wreckage, looking back at the first building shi had destroyed. The skyscraper had been all but reduced to rubble, and it seemed that it was going to stay that way. However, on closer inspection, she noticed that the building was slowly repairing itself, reconstructing before hir very eyes.

“There we go!” The kaiju smirked, watching as the damage shi caused was slowly being undone. The city complex had been designed as a stomping ground for kaiju, as well as potentially being used for a massive interactive attraction of sorts, and with those things in mind, building and repair costs would prove to be astronomical. Fortunately for everyone involved, some of the staff who worked at Hybrid Heaven were well versed in scientific studies, with a few of them having a vast knowledge of creating self-repairing nanomachines that could easily fix anything that had been damaged. They had been worked into the creation and design of the city, programmed to undo any damages that were inflicted to the structures, meaning they wouldn’t have to worry about any massive repair bills - well, unless the nanomachines were to malfunction, but hopefully that wouldn’t happen in the immediate future.

“Perfect, it appears that all the nanomachines are functioning correctly!” An unfamiliar voice spoke over a speaker, causing Ashley to nearly jump back in shock.

“Who said that?!” Shi looked around. “And why am I only hearing voices NOW?!”

“I’m sorry, we didn’t have the time to get any vocal files into the system before proper testing. And it’s Yuna, the chief scientist - I was tasked with ensuring that the nanomachines were correctly coded and deployed. I apologise for not being able to meet with you in-person to tell you this, but I feel that it’s safer for me to fill you in whilst you’re in your kaiju form!”

“That makes sense, you don’t really want to risk getting stomped on or getting crushed by a piece of falling building!”

“Indeed, imagine having that written in your obituary!” Yuna laughed. “Still, I’m happy to see everything’s working as it should. Now all we need to do is add in some voices to make it sound like less of a ghost town, as well as add in everything else!”

“Everything else? There’s more to this?”

“Well yeah! Outside of being a fun place for kaiju to de-stress, we thought it would be fun to implement a ‘kaiju defence’ game of sorts as well, with other residents and visitors able to take part in trying to ‘take down’ the attacking monsters!”

“Huh… ya know, that DOES sound like it could be fun. How long until all that’s ready to go?”

“Hopefully not too long - we’re testing out a few of the things we’ll be bringing into the attraction, as well as developing a couple of extra additions, though we’ve got to be very hush-hush on those until they’re ready to go!”

“I’m looking forward to it! At least for now, the kaiju crowd has a fun little playground to stomp about in!”

“I’m pleased to hear that, and I’ll be sure to pass it onto the higher ups!” Yuna was practically beaming, her voice echoing over the speakers. “As for now, are you finished with testing, or do you need a little more time?”

“Hrm…” Ashley pondered for a moment. “If you don’t mind, I’d like to run a few more tests. It’s been a while since I’ve freed the beast, so I’ve got a few pent-up urges I want to take care of!”

“By all means, just let us know when you’re done, ok?”

“Oh trust me, you’ll know when I’m done~” Shi said with a devious grin.
