Spyro closed the book and looked over at Cynder.

“I think Sam and Sapphire are your ancestors." He told her.

She nodded. “I got that too."

“So, I think that the evil that is rising is Liam, or the Dark One."

“Yeah, but how do we defeat him?"

“I think Sapphire might know that; we have to find her." Spyro answered.

Cynder nodded, and got up. She stretched and yawned, before looking out the window of the building.

“Where is that prison supposed to be? We need to find Sam first, right?

“I don't know, I think we should pack up and travel to the cities command center." Spyro told her.

She nodded and looked around the camp they had stayed in the last four days. Then she packed up the books they were going to keep while Spyro packed up their bed and other supplies. They walked out of the archive and found the command center. The door was sealed and Spyro couldn't figure out how to open it, until he set his paw on the door. It beeped and opened, and the two dragons stepped through it. There were tons of strange windows spread around, and they started glowing and showing pictures when they walked in. Spyro gasped as the main window lit up and showed them some strange images.

“Please press the green button to accept the message." A voice rang from the room.

Spyro and Cynder shared a confused look before pressing the big green button. Michael appeared on the window, there was a blue dragoness standing with him.

“The Ultimate Guardian and Sapphire reporting here." Michael spoke.

“About the current condition of Providence." The blue dragoness added.

The picture changed, but Michael's voice remained. It showed an image of a horde of zombified dragons walking.

“The virus has been completely erased from the surface, but I have been unable to remove all of their remains."

The photo changed, this time to a photo of a wrecked city.

“The damage sustained to the surviving cities is major, and we will continue the restriction of the dimension."

Then the window returned to the two dragons.

“We are moving the headquarters to a dimension within the cell of this one." Sapphire spoke, moving a bit.

Cynder gasped when she noticed that Sapphire was pregnant.

“If you are here, that means that you either are lost, or are searching for ancient knowledge. The archive down the road here updates annually, that is the best place to search for this knowledge, and if you are lost, press the blue button and a portal will appear, the ML will take you wherever you wish." Sapphire added.

The image froze, signaling the end of the message.

“Another message detected from the Ultimate Guardian. To Spyro, press the green button to play." The strange voice spoke again.

Spyro rushed forward and pushed the button again. The image changed to Michael standing alone back at Faun.

“Spyro, if you see this message, it means you chose to find Sapphire, to do that you need to wake Sam. As you probably know, he is in a mobile prison that walks the planet constantly."

A window next to them lit up, displaying a map.

“This is it's current location, good luck, finding Sapphire will be easy, but getting her to tell you things might be difficult." Michael told them.

The window froze again, and Spyro looked over at the map.

“It's not that far, a few hours." He told her.

They walked out of the command center and took flight, heading in the direction of the prison. After a few hours of flying, they approached the location the prison should be. There was an ocean where the map said the prison should be, and they couldn't see it, so they landed on the beach and waited. After a few hours, a massive walking structure poked it's head out of the water. The two dragons gasped as the large egg-shaped prison walked out onto the beach, they took off and located the main entrance. Cynder reached out and tapped the door, in the same way as Michael had in the book, and it opened. They followed the instructions and found the cell Sam was staying in. Cynder gasped at the statue in front of her, she reached out and tapped the statue.

“Wakey wakey." Spyro mumbled, smirking.

The statue exploded violently, causing the two dragons to duck and cover their face with their wings. They closed their eyes and coughed.

“Who's there? Sapphire? Is that you?" A voice called out.

Cynder blew a puff of wind, dispersing the dust in the air, revealing a black dragon. Sam had the same face markings, horns, and tailblade as Cynder. He looked over at the black dragoness and stared for a moment.

“Wow, thousands of generations and you two still look alike." Spyro spoke.

Sam shook his head and looked at the purple dragon.

“Thousands?"

“Were not sure how long ago this happened, the records have hidden the exact number for some reason, but it has been a while." Spyro told him.

“Where's Michael?"

“He doesn't come here anymore." Spyro answered

Sam nodded. “I get it, has he found Sapphire?"

“He did, but he can't get to her, something about fate." Spyro replied.

Sam sighed. “Of course, the multiverse loves to mess with him."

“We have the number." Spyro pulled out a note and handed it to him.

Sam looked at the note, then back up at them. “Are you sure? This is pretty far."

“That's what was in Michael's logs." Cynder spoke.

Sam looked over apologetically. “Oh, where are my manners? My name is Sam, which you know already. I notice you are one of my descendants, and you are a purple dragon? How is that possible?"

“It's unique to the dimension we are all staying in." Spyro told him. “I'm Spyro, and Cynder here is my mate."

Sam nodded and smiled. “Nice to meet you, now let's go see if we can find my mate."

They walked up and out of the prison, Sam gaped at the green horizon and pure blue oceans.

“Time always returns things to their natural shape." He mumbled.

“How are we getting to that dimension? I can only travel to my dimension, not anywhere else." Spyro asked.

“I can take us there." Sam answered.

Cynder took flight, and the two other dragons followed. They landed on the beach and Sam focused his magic. A white portal appeared, fluctuating with powerful energy. Sam walked through it immediately, while the other two dragons were hesitant. They warily approached the portals, then stepped through. Spyro looked around the new dimension, they were in a bustling city, similar to Faun. Sam went from stall to stall of the market they were in, asking about any dragon statues. Spyro and Cynder joined them just in time for him to find someone who knew of a place.

“There is an old temple north of here, it is possibly millions of years old. I remember playing there as a kid, and I think there is an old dragon statue in its center." A human told them.

Spyro noticed that this city was a mix of humans, dragons, wolves, and another strange species of bipedal scaled creatures. Sam led them north, and after a few hours of walking, they reached the temple that was spoken of.

“I'm surprised that these four species can live in peace like this." Cynder spoke.

“Yeah, this is a ML planet, they are very good at creating societies." Sam replied.

The walked into the temple, and started heading their way towards the center, but were stopped by a group of robed figures.

“You can't be here; this is a pure temple." The head priest spoke.

The priest lifted his hood, revealing a white dragon's face. He was covered with markings and runes.

“Were here to find a petrified dragon." Sam told them. “We will free her and leave immediately."

“Two of you are the embodiment of evil, while you." The priest pointed at Spyro. “Are a walking god, why do you stand with such vile creatures?"

Cynder's face fell, Sam's turned to rage.

“She is my mate, she is not evil." Spyro told them

They gasped.

“You are with this black dragon? How could you have possibly fallen so low? Are there no other dragonesses where you come from?" The priest asked.

“You will hold your tongue against my mate." Spyro growled.

“The ML in all it's power." Sam mumbled. “And they still can't stop these stupid religions."

“There are no petrified dragons here." The priest yelled.

“How would you know?" Sam replied. “She is my mate, and I will find her. I have received word that there is a statue at the center of this temple."

“That is the statue of the daughter of our god; The Ultimate Guardian."

Sam raised an eyebrow. “You know he is a black dragon right."

More gasps

“How dare you speak such blasphemy?" The priest boomed.

“That statue is the petrified daughter of the one you worship, are you going to keep her from her mate?" Sam asked.

Murmurs rang through the crowd.

“Your kind does not belong here, the purple one may pass, but you must stay."

Spyro nodded and walked forward. “I'll be right back."

Cynder stayed with Sam as the priest led Spyro into the main hall of the temple.

“I don't know what circumstances would bring you to mate with a black dragon, but they must have been dire." The priest spoke.

“I fell in love with her, and she fell for me. There is nothing but love between us." Spyro snarled.

“Did you know that tales of purple dragons are considered holy here? Everybody here worships you."

“Why?"

“Doesn't matter, but what does matter is that you are here now."

“To find and wake up that dragon, and return her to her mate. Then leave, and probably never come back." Spyro told him.

“She isn't here, I would be able to tell if this statue was a petrified dragon."

“Would you? Even if she has been there for millions of years?"

The priest paused. “That would dampen magical traces."

They approached the statue, the dragoness looked sad, her wings folded and her snout lowered.

“Why is she sad?" Spyro asked

“We believe it was because of her lost love, or maybe she was just lost in general." The priest answered.

Spyro nedded, and turned to the statue.

“But if she was really here, how has she not woken up? She would obviously be able to see the world." The priest asked.

“We found Sam, he's here, he's awake and waiting for you. Michael is waiting for you, but he isn't here, he wanted to be, but fate blocked him." Spyro told the statue.

Nothing happened, Spyro sighed.

“We know you were looking for Liam, and we found a trace of his work. The Dark Authority has been permanently destroyed." He added.

A crack appeared on the statue, making Spyro cock his head.

“Do you need help?"

The statue shook a little. Spyro nodded and motioned for the priest to stand back, then he flipped around and smacked the statue with his tail with full force. The statue exploded, causing another puff of dust to spread in the hall. Spyro heard a female cough, and watched as a blue dragoness stepped out of the plume of dust. The priest gasped and stepped back in surprise, and tripped on his robe. Sapphire stumbled and nearly fell herself, but Spyro stopped her and propped her up.

“Where is he?" She gasped.

“Let's go." Spyro told her. “I'll take you to him."

He carried her out of the main room of the temple and back into the antechamber. Sam gasped when he saw his mate, and leapt forward to nuzzle her. Sapphire seemed rejuvenated by her mate's affection, she gasped and nuzzled back. Then she stood straight up and looked over at the two younger dragons.

“Hello, who are you?"

“This is Spyro, and his mate Cynder, who is one of our descendants." Sam introduced them.

They nodded and waved, blushing slightly. Sapphire walked up to Cynder and nuzzled her slightly, making her eyes go wide.

“You look just like one of my daughters, I suspect she is your ancestor." She told Cynder.

Cynder nodded, and Sapphire stepped back, then turned to Spyro.

“You said that you found a trace of Liam?"

“Apparently, he was in a dimension not far from the one I was born in, he caused a void plague, and we had to get rid of it. But Michael said it was caused accidentally, we think he was there for a moment, before he was snapped back to wherever he came from." Spyro explained.

Sapphire gasped. “Him? A void plague?"

Spyro looked back at Sam. “When the Dark Authority was defeated, older, darker forces started to awaken, and they have been rising in power."

Sapphire shook her head. “Liam is not going to return, not for a while, even if he could come back now he wouldn't. He is not ready."

Spyro nodded, then turned to the angering robed figures staring back at them.

“We should go."

“Yes, we should go back to Providence." Sapphire told them.

They both looked over at her, surprised. She wordlessly stepped forward and opened a portal, and they all stepped through. They were back at the main square, just outside of the archives, Spyro turned back to see the familiar surroundings, and sighed.

“Back here again." He mumbled.

Sapphire chuckled and walked along the main street of the city. The other dragons followed for a while, before they were led to a house. Sapphire sighed, before entering the house.

“I left a stash here just in case." She told them, returning with a large bag of materials.

Spyro and Cynder looked into the bag, and stared at it's contents.

“That's enough stuff to take out an entire army." Sam mused, raising an eyebrow. “We shouldn't need these."

“We might." She replied.

“Were not going to look for him, Sapphire, were going to the new home dimension of our species. Were going to go see your father, and were going to relax. Didn't you tell me you wanted another clutch before you left."

Sapphire sighed. “I know, but I feel responsible for him."

Sam shook his head. “Don't, let's just go and find our new home."

She nodded, and looked over at him. “I definitely want another clutch."

Spyro and Cynder both blushed, causing both the older dragons to look over at them.

“Don't tell me it's an egg year." Sapphire smirked.

They nodded.

“Next year it is." She chuckled.

They walked back into the city, and they passed by the archive once again.

“We should go to the city Liam was lain in, just to look around, they can learn more about him." Sapphire told them.

Sam nodded. “Fine, but do you remember how to get there? I don't."

“I do, I went there many times, but now that time is different, it might reveal something new."

She opened a portal, and turned back to them.

“See, I told you." She smiled.

Sam shook his head, and walked through the portal. Sapphire rolled her eyes, and followed. They entered a large city, completely covered by a dome of rock. The whole city appeared to be in a cave, and was barely lit by a series of crystals. The group walked towards the temple described in the books, and walked up to a nest.

“This was where we found his egg." Sapphire told them.

They looked around and found a record book containing details on the eggs.

“It says here that his egg comes from a family that had lived on the outer ring, it says the address here." Spyro told them.

They looked over at the book, and then over to a map.

“Then let's go check it out." Sam replied.
