Jack looked up at Aurora.

“You mean it? You really do?”

Aurora leaned down and nuzzled the side of Jack’s snout. “Yes, I want to be your girlfriend.”

Jack smiled brightly, and leaned over to kiss her. She was stunned at the move for a moment, before sinking into the kiss. After a moment, Jack pulled back and scooted to the side of the bed. Aurora blushed, and curled up next to him. He was so proud at this moment, but also very tired, so he laid his head down next to hers and fell back asleep. He woke back up to the voices of his sisters, and opened his eyes.

“He’s awake.” May noted.

He looked over, and realized that Aurora wasn’t there.

“Where’s Aurora?”

“She’s getting something to eat.” Sam told him.

Jennifer walked up and nuzzled her brother. “I was worried, are you okay?”

“I’m fine, it wasn’t a long battle.” Jack replied.

A healer walked into the room, and checked Jack’s vitals.

“Normally, I would say to keep you another night, but I think it’s safe to say your okay. You can go home, but don’t exert yourself for three days.”

Jack nodded, and the healer left. He slowly got to his feet, and shook himself off. Amy and Sam helped him walk out into the hall and down into the main reception area. Aurora caught up with them, and they made their way out of the hospital. Jack could feel the weight lifting off of him as they left the hospital, and immediately felt much better.

“There is like, a thousand coins in here.” May noted, while looking into Jack’s helmet.

Sam chuckled. “More like two or three hundred.”

Jack turned to look. “Did the whole battalion join in?”

“No, some of the merchants gave you the rest in return for saving their caravan.” Sam told him. “We’ll be saving that for a rainy day.”

“Is the trade line secure?”

“As much as it can be.” Sam shrugged.

They made their way through the city, Amy stepped back to allow Aurora to help Jack. Eventually, they reached their home and Jack collapsed on the couch with a sigh. Aurora sat next to them, and watched the others leave.

“Should we tell them?” Aurora asked.

Jack shrugged. “You can, but I don’t feel like doing anything right now.”

Aurora nodded. “They should know, I’ll tell them.”

Jack smiled, and kissed her, before settling back and closing his eyes.

Aurora walked into the kitchen, and started to help Sam cut some vegetables.

“There’s something you want to tell me.” Sam stated.

“How can you tell?”

“A mother knows, c’mon, tell me.”

“Jack and I…. We’re boyfriend and girlfriend.”

There was a clatter, and Aurora turned to see Sam sitting there, frozen, with a pot in her paws.

“When?” She asked.

“He asked me yesterday.”

Sam nodded, then smiled brightly. “Good, I was starting to get worried.”

“Has he never had one before?”

“No, ever since his father died, he’s been putting us first, working and helping me as much as he can.”

Aurora nodded.

“Can you promise me something?” Sam turned to her.

“Of course.”

“If you do get mated, don’t let him work himself into the ground.”

Aurora nodded. “I promise.”

Sam turned and shouted. “Girls, come here for a second.”

May and Jennifer walked into the kitchen, and started to help their mother prepare dinner. Amy walked in a few minutes’ afterword, and sat at the small kitchen table.

“So, some news.” Sam spoke.

The three of them turned to look at her.

“Jack and Aurora have entered the next stage of their relationship.”

May and Jennifer both turned and smiled at Aurora. Amy smiled to herself, and looked over at her mom.

“I think I should switch rooms with Aurora then.”

Aurora blushed, but Sam nodded “That makes more sense.”

“You guys look so cute together.” May told Aurora.

“Now, don’t put any pressure on them, their relationship has to evolve on its own.” Sam told them.

Amy motioned for Aurora to follow her, and they walked into the spare room Aurora had been staying in.

“Look, my brother has done a lot for my family, and I want him to be happy, like very happy. So, I’m going to tell you this now, if you hurt him, there will be nowhere that you can’t go that I won’t find you.”

Aurora stood there, stunned, for a moment. “I won’t.”

Amy smiled. “Good, now let’s get things moved, I like my bed better, but I think I can keep this one in the corner over there.”

Aurora helped her move the bed across the room, then they moved Amy’s bed into the spare room. After they had finished swapping their stuff, Aurora sat in Jack’s room, blushing at the thought of sharing it with him. The bed was large enough for both of them to fit comfortably, but barely. Jack walked into the room, and smiled at her.

“Hey.” She greeted.

“Hi.”

“How are you feeling?”

“Better, but my head still hurts.”

Aurora nodded. “You should probably eat something.”

“I already did. How do you like the room?”

Aurora looked around. “It’s nice, with you especially.’

“You can decorate it; I never really did that.”

“I don’t want to impose.”

Jack smiled at her. “I don’t care, I want this to be your home too. I want you to be comfortable, here, with me.”

Aurora gasped at his words, the love that Jack had for her was real, unlike her other suitors. This was what she read about in stories, of a true love that made her heart explode with joy. She picked up a few of her things, and placed them in spots that made sense, Jack laid down on the bed and watched her. After a few minutes, she finished and looked around, the room had more of a flair to it now, instead of being the bare, military style it was before. She smiled at jack, who nodded approvingly. She blushed when he opened his wings, inviting her in a warm embrace.

“You coming or what?”

Aurora nodded, and crawled under Jack’s wings. He was warm, so pleasantly warm Aurora couldn’t help but sigh in content. She buried her face in his neck, and quickly fell asleep.

Aurora woke up from the best sleep she had ever experienced. She opened her eyes and found herself still buried in her boyfriend’s neck. All she felt was raw warmth, and something inside her told her that this was where she belonged. She smiled to herself, the love of fantasy, and she had it all to herself. After a while, she heard the door open and some footsteps. There was a light chuckle, and Aurora realized it was Sam, she must be checking on Jack. Aurora turned slightly and peeked out from under Jack’s wing.

“Hey.” Sam whispered. “Comfy?”

Aurora nodded slightly, making Sam chuckle again.

“I remember when I used to cuddle with them when they were little, Jack always reminds me of his father.”

Jack grumbled lightly, and shifted slightly.

“Makes sure he moves around some when he gets up, gets the blood pumping.” Sam told her. “But don’t let him do any work, at all. Once he starts, he doesn’t stop.”

Aurora nodded again, and turned her head back. She laid there for a while, enjoying the warmth and the steady breathing. Eventually, Jack woke up and yawned, Aurora immediately leaped up and cut off his yawn with a kiss.

“Umph, good morning to you too.” Jack spoke.

“Warm.” Aurora replied.

Jack chuckled. “Sleep good.”

“Better than I ever have.”

“What should we do today?”

“Let’s take a walk.”

Jack nodded, and opened his wings. Aurora got out of the bed, then looked back at him.

“Wait, nevermind, back to warmth.”

Jack got up, and kissed her again. “You can come back to it every night.”

Aurora smiled brightly, and nodded. “You want breakfast first?”

“Sure.”

(Three Weeks Later)

Aurora woke up in pure bliss, she had gotten used to waking up in the arms of her boyfriend, but today was different; today was his hatchday, and she planned on making his day wonderful. They had thrown her a party two months ago, but she wanted to surprise him with his. She lifted her head and started kissing him. Jack woke and smiled at her.

“Happy hatchday.” Aurora smiled.

“Best hatchday ever.” Jack replied.

“I have something for you.”

“You do? You know I told you not to.”

“But I already had, long before you said anything.”

Aurora pulled out the bracelet, and handed it to him.

“Woah, those gems.”

“Deep emeralds.” Aurora told him. “For some reason, most people want their emeralds to be bright, but I like mine dark.”

Jack beamed up at her. “What did I ever do to deserve you?”

“Don’t act like all you do isn’t enough.” Aurora replied, nuzzling him. “Let’s go on a walk.”

They got up and stretched, before making their way out of the house. Amy was on her usual spot, and winked down at Aurora as she passed.

“Any plans for today?” Jack asked

“Not much, your mother’s baking a cake, and we’ll have a little celebration later, but for now, let’s have some fun.” Aurora took flight, and Jack followed her.

Aurora landed with a superior smile in front of the house, it was quiet, because they knew he would be coming back around now. Jack landed beside her, panting, and smiling.

“You… cheater.”

“Hey, I won fair and square.” She replied.

They walked into the house, and just as Jack looked around, a crowd of dragons jumped out and they all shouted.

“SURPRISE!”

Jack jumped a little, then calmed himself down. He looked around and realized his entire family was there.

“What…?”

“You wouldn’t let us throw you any parties, but this year, your mother was extra persistent.” A pale-yellow dragoness, Aurora thought she was Jack’s aunt, told him.

Jack nodded, and turned to the crowd.

“Hello everyone, I would like you to meet my girlfriend, Aurora.”

Aurora blushed, but all she received were smiles and greetings. She stood beside Jack, and he looked incredibly proud to have her beside him. She was surprised at how welcoming his family was to her. Jack had always made sure to include Aurora in his family, trying to give her his own as a supplement. She appreciated it, though it still hurt her to have to lie to him. At this point, how could she tell her she was the lost princess, and she had caused the fighting between their kingdom and the Emerald Kingdom. The Jade Kingdom refuses to get involved, but her kingdom could never win against the Emerald Kingdom. Aurora looked over at Jack, he was talking to some of his cousins, she didn’t know their names. Even though she was right next to him, Aurora felt like she was a million miles away from Jack’s conversation. She kept thinking about her final gift; was she ready? Was she completely sure? Aurora blushed at the thought, and shook her head. After a few hours, and a large slice of cake, the party died down and everybody left. Aurora turned and whispered into Jack’s ear.

“Follow me.”

Jack nodded, and they left the house and took flight. Aurora led him out of the city, and over a large lake. They landed on the shore, and Aurora brought him into a cave.

“Why did you bring me out here?” Jack asked.

“There was something I want to ask you, but I don’t really know how to do it.”

It was time, as tradition for their society, males ask the females for courtship, but in the end, the female decides if they are ready to take the male as her mate. Aurora felt ready, but she was worried if it was two soon, some dragons waited years before mating, but she didn’t want to wait. She wanted to be a Thorn, and to live a happy life with Jack.

“Uhm, this might seem a little fast, and I don’t know if you’re ready. But if you’re not, that’s okay, this is more of me telling you I’m ready.”

Jack froze, and Aurora could see his mind begin to turn, but she powered through.

“Jack, I want you… To… Be my… Mate. Will you by my mate?”

Jack turned and smiled. “Yes.”

Aurora was stunned, of all the things she was expecting, a straight answer was not one of them. She looked him in the eyes, and beamed.

“You will?”

“Yes, yes, yes, definetly.”

Jack leaped forward, and locked her in a kiss. He poured all his love into her at that moment, and she felt every bit of it. He radiated with joy, and seemed like he was going to explode.

“Thank you.” He told her when they broke off.

“For what?”

“For helping me end what has been called the hardest task of a male dragon’s life.”

Aurora looked into his eyes, and saw only happiness. “I love you.”

“I love you too, always and forever. You are my one and only.”

They kissed again, and Aurora started to feel a warmth on her belly. She looked down and gasped when she saw Jack’s dragonhood fully erect before her.

“We don’t have to; we can wait if you want.” Jack told her

“I want that, like a lot. Besides, if anybody doubts our mateship, they’ll make us commit ourselves publicly, and there is no way I’m doing that.”

Jack smiled, and he slowly pushed his new mate onto her back. He looked her up and down, admiring her beautiful form, before pressing against her and growling lustfully.

“Are you sure?” He gasped out.

“Yes.” Aurora nodded.

He slowly slid into her, making her moan and gasp against him. She felt parts of her body expand for the first time, and felt small amounts of pain. After a few moments, he pulled back, and started thrusting into her. Aurora moaned loudly, wrapping her legs around her mate as he started speeding up.

“I’m yours, take me.” She whispered into his ear, making him growl.

He kept thrusting into her, making her muscles contract and rub against him, her juices spilling onto their hips. After a few minutes, Jack began to speed up, making Aurora moan louder. He pounded into her, growling as he claimed his female. Soon he felt his climax build, and looked down at her.

“Aurora.” He gasped. “I’m gonna cum.”

“Inside.”

“But what if you get pregnant.”

“I don’t care, inside. I want you to fill me every time from now on.”

Jack bit down on her neck, making her climax. She clamped down on his dragonhood as she screamed into the air. He hilted her one last time, and climaxed deep into her. His knot popped in just as the first stream hit her womb. She moaned loudly as she felt the warmth reach her innermost depths. He emptied himself into her, making her moan with each pulse. After a minute, he finished, and flipped her over so she could lay on his chest. The knot would hold for several hours, sealing their tie in the oldest of traditions. Aurora panted, feeling her mate deep inside of her. All she felt was satisfaction, all was as its meant to be. She knew she wasn’t in heat, but she couldn’t help but hope this was one of those odd times that she was fertile. She couldn’t help but hope that she would soon be laying Jack’s eggs. She fell asleep on his chest, happy in her new life.

Jack woke when the sun hit his eyes, he looked out the entrance of the cave, and gasped when he realized what time it was.

“Aurora, wake up.”

He gently nuzzled his mate until she opened her eyes and smiled at him.

“We need to wash up and go, my mother’s going to be worried sick.”

Aurora nodded, and they walked out into the lake to wash off. Jack worriedly nuzzled the mark on Aurora’s neck.

“Sorry about that.” He spoke.

Aurora smiled at him. “Don’t worry, I kind of liked it.”

“I don’t remember doing it.”

“It’s completely normal, in fact, to show all other males that I’m taken. I kind of like the idea of showing it off to everybody so I’ll get left alone.”

Jack beamed at her, and they took off. After they landed, Jack turned to her and kissed her.

“Wait for my signal, I have to calm her down a bit.” He told her.

She nodded, and smiled as Jack entered the house. His mother was waiting for him, and nuzzled him when he walked into the house.

“Where have you been? I have been so worried about you.”

“I’m fine.”

“You’ve never done that before, Amy sure, but you? Never.”

“I’m fine, mom.”

“What were you thinking?”

“Mom!”

Sam turned to look at him. “What?”

“I have a mate.”

Sam froze, and Jack heard Amy stumble in the next room. He flicked his tail out the door, and Aurora walked in. She smiled faintly at Sam, and hid behind Jack. Sam craned her neck and saw the mark on her neck, then smiled and sat down on a cushion.

“I didn’t expect this so soon.” She told them. “It took him a lot longer then normal to even start dating, but you guys mated so fast.”

Jack smiled, and sat down across from her mother. “We were ready.”

“What should we do now? You’re going to be having eggs eventually, you need your own house, your own lives are starting now.”

Jack looked to Aurora, then back to Sam. “We can stay for a while, until we find a nice house.”

Sam nodded, with tears in her eyes. “My little boy, all grown up.”

“Mooom!” Jack blushed.

“Look at you, big and strong, with a mate of your own.”

Aurora leaned against him, and he couldn’t help but feel proud of himself.

“And now we have to throw ANOTHER party.”

Aurora straightened up. “I chose to ask him yesterday specifically so you wouldn’t.”

Sam laughed. “That’s not how things work. Next week, we will party.”
