Chapter 11 - Sand Ogre
Amanda sets off toward The Arcane's headquarters. Following the directions Vlad gave her, she finds a giant Sand Ogre.
So far...
After her encounter with the powerful spirit at the Asylum, Amanda finds herself rapidly
growing. The mare’s ludicrously obscene assets grow more swollen with their fluids by the second. As
they continuously reach sizes never attained before. Her height is rapidly becoming a problem, too, as
she stands 1050cm tall.
Despite this, the Indagator still has a job to do. Recently, the hermaphrodite mare picked up
an investigation into the suspected dealings with the illegal drug known as “HyperX.” During this, she
encountered a map that led her to a cave in the Amazon rainforest. Here, she found a warehouse kept
within and destroyed it.
The mare found three leads in the cave. LNV, Westdon Suppliers, and Stone Enforcers ltd.
Questioning them was challenging, but all said the same thing. LNV was someone no one had anything on. Frustrated, the mare returned home and prepped for the upcoming Indagator ball.
The ball proved valuable for the mare. As she encountered a man by the name of Vlad
Alucard. He unveils himself to be LNV and offers her a job. The futanari mare refuses the job at first
but continues listening. The job LNV tells the horse is directly related to a war raging in the
underground realm.
Vlad tells the Indagator that two major criminal organizations are now fighting in this war.
Both of which are after him, the leader of another criminal organization. But before he could tell
Amanda anymore, the ball is attacked, and both the vampire and the Indagator find themselves fighting
for their lives.
Afterward, Vlad tells Amanda the assailant was likely one of the criminal organization's
attempts to kill him and warns the mare. No criminal organization is against using monsters in their
war, and whoever she chooses to help will tilt the odds in their favor.
The information Vlad gives the hyper mare proves invaluable. As she learns about the various monsters, The Arcanes are training at their headquarters, Merlin Advanced Studies. The vampire directs her in the direction of the headquarters and asks her to take care of some monsters along the way.
Chapter 11 – Sand Ogre
Following the vampire’s instructions, Amanda found herself just before two metal gates. One was on an elevated platform next to a box-like concrete structure. While the other barred her entry. The faded tarmac road led to a much wider dirt road to the west. While directly in front was a road running beneath another road placed atop short concrete pillars. Yet, just before the gates, planted in a concrete bed, were some bushes. Above them was a sign spelling “GenOn Electric Utility Company.”
Skeptical, the horse investigated the immediate area only to find a section of land paved in concrete with a mess of wires, metal trusses, and what she would presume to be a generator.
Great. The Indagator’s mind muttered. Maybe I can find some tracks. Now a towering giant at 1050cm, the horse found this a challenge. As the horse's immense quad testes hovered barely centimeters above the tarmac. In fact, the slight tickling sensation she’d grown so used to; told the mare her sack was a hair's length above the ground.
Regardless, the horse wouldn’t let this slow her down as she set off East on hoof. (There wasn’t a car in the world built for her size). Walking in this direction for nearly a kilometer proved helpful as Amanda encountered a ranch called “Edison Ranch.” Entering the ranch and approaching the nearest worker, she asked.
“Have you seen any monsters?”
“Any monsters, huh?" The average height bull-anthro rubbed the back of his neck. “Can’t say I’ve seen any. But there was a strange hill.”
“What made it strange?” The Indagator asked.
“I dunno, looked like it was kinda…." A long pause. "heaving?"
“Heaving?” The mare raised a brow.
“Yeah.”
“How exactly was it heaving?”
“Like something was breathing.”
The hyper mare tilted her head. “Can you describe to me what exactly you saw?”
With a shrug, the bull anthro began. "I was walking down the beach and saw this hill in the distance. Walking past it, I swear I could see it heave. Like something was sleeping. I tried taking a closer look. But when I did, it seemed completely normal."
The horse slowly nodded. “Can you point me in the direction of the hill?” The mare knew some monsters could camouflage themselves.
“Sure. Go directly South from here until you hit a landscaping store. From there, go Southwest toward the beach. That’s where I saw the hill.”
“Thank you.” The Indagator answered in a steady voice.
Following the directions the bull gave her, Amanda found herself at the beach. To the North was a road leading to a roundabout on the East. It was different from a typical city roundabout as it was surrounded by reddish pools of water, the biggest one more brown than red. Amanda also noted there was no concrete or tarmac. As they were covered in beach sand.
Beginning her search, the mare started to make rounds up and down the beach. It took the horse an hour until she finally spotted the strange hill. Making her way toward the slope, there was a feeble vibration attempting to jostle the mare's gigantic tits. She ignored it at first until it persisted enough she decided to address it.
She quickly rummaged through her boobs until she found her phone buried so deep in the first row of tits that they almost made it to the second row. Peering at the screen, she read the caller ID as "Taliss Knight," her boss.
Shit. The mare recalled the centaur's request to stay out of the public.
“Amanda.” The horse answered.
“Amanda! I asked you to stay inside until we sorted your growth problem!” The centaur’s voice was loud.
“I know.” The horse responded in an icy tone.
“Then why did you leave?!”
“I’m on an assignment.”
“Amanda, I respect your hardworking attitude, but when I asked you to not go out. I meant that for assignments too.”
“I’m not going to sit around while cartels sell larger and larger quantities of illegal drugs.”
“Well, Amanda, now you might not have a choice. You're on the news." The centaur’s voice relaxed.
“What?” The horse was surprised.
A sigh. “Amanda, you’re almost twice the height of a giraffe-anthro. They're already two stories tall."
“What am I on the news for?” The hyper horse calmly inquired.
“For breaking the world record of the tallest person on the planet ten times over. And possibly scaring the world.”
“What?”
“They know you're an Indagator, Amanda. While most of the world is okay with us, the large portion that isn’t are generally terrified of Indagators.”
The horse remained silent.
“It’s put your Indagator license up for debate.”
“What?” The mare’s tone was hostile.
“I'm sorry, Amanda. But you might no longer be a certified Indagator. If you step down and return to the organization, you might have a better chance of retaining your license.”
“I’m not stepping down the assignment. Not after all the work, I've done."
“What work have you done?”
The horse quickly told her boss what she’d learned so far.
“That’s disconcerting.” The centaur spoke.
“I don’t like it either. But working with a crime lord might be my only choice.”
“Also possibly very illegal.”
“Hmph.” The mare grunted. “Laws are only laws when people follow them.”
“I know, Amanda.” There was a pause. “Here’s the deal. The Indagator department is going to decide whether you should keep your license. As someone on the debate. I can tell you your progress on this mission may have saved you your license, but I'm pretty sure the board will still vote for you to be kept within the organization.”
“You know I can’t accept that.”
“Well, there isn't really a choice. I'm sending a team to retrieve you.”
The horse snorted. "I won't be going."
“You will unless you want me to send a restraining team.” The centaur shot back.
The mare thought about fighting a restraint team. But quickly decided it’d only cause more trouble. “Fine.”
A breath of relief. "Thank you, Amanda. The retrieval team will be over shortly."
“Now, can you please-" The horse stopped listening to the call when she was a few meters away from the hill. As it began to stand up. By the time it reached its full height, the mare knew what it was.
“Taliss.” The horse interrupted her boss.
“What?”
“We’ve awakened a Sand Ogre. And not a small one.”
The Sand Ogre towered over the mare by a few meters. It stared at the horse for what felt like a slow passing moment until it let out a deep roar reverberating the air.
“Amanda," Taliss spoke on the other side of the call. "Should I send some Indagators with the retrieval team?"
“That won’t be necessary.”
“Are you sure?” The centaur sounded unconvinced.
“I’ve been an Indagator for almost a hundred years now. I'm almost certain I can take this Ogre."
“All right, Amanda, but I'm sending an Indagator with the retrieval team just in case."
“Hmph.” The horse grunted in response.
“Good luck.”
The mare quickly shoved her phone down her tits again and swiftly drew her blade. It wasn’t until after the mare had watched the Ogre dig up a giant machete did she realize something was wrong. The horse’s hands were too large to wield their blade. Oh fuck. Was the mare’s last thought.
