:iconRob-Macwolf: suggested a challenge to me a few weeks ago, a Mathnawi on one's perspective regarding Pride month from one who does not celebrate it themselves, and I simply forgot to post the result of it. In return, I got to issue a challenge to him, which he has already posted in his own userpage here on SoFurry; he did a very good job of it. Please enjoy both our poems!

One reforms the Love of Christ on thrones above,

Setting sibling heart against the flaming dart

Foes may fling; apart from kindred kinds in art,

Destitute and void — companionship destroyed.

Pangs of painted marks, a symbol once in arcs

Multi-colored, stripes of seeking peace; yet gripes,

Flung from certain types, still targeted for snipes

Flail the dying hate; and still do they berate

Though the peace is sought, in rising blood is bought,

And this Summer heat will menace with defeat

Hypocrites, who greet their "other" in a seat

Humbled by their God, whose honor on they've trod.

Yet, awaiting soon that day, divided June

Bids farewell to past, for peace that shall at last

Come respite the tried and wearied, long decried;

Heart of Christ within, his Love will conquer sin.
