Sunny walked through the academy, and entered the prey room. Her egg was secured in her harness, and Sunny smiled happily as she hummed along. She was caught short as she looked around the prey room. There were dozens of turkeys loose in the room, and a handful of students attempting to catch them.

“What…” Sunny trailed off.

Clay walked up to her. “Uh, hey Sunny, sorry about all this.”

“What is going on?”

“Well, Tsunami and Glory found out about an old dragon tradition, and well… they decided we should bring it back.”

“What is it?”

“I don’t really know, but it involves turkeys and pigs, and a large meal. That’s all they told me, so Michael and Moon helped me catch a bunch of stuff.” Clay explained,

“Do you need help?”

“No! You can relax, you just laid your egg.”

“I could help.”

“I won’t allow it, you lay here, out of the way.” Clay told her.

“Uh… okay.”

Clay smiled and chased off of one of the runaway turkeys. Sunny leaned back and relaxed as she watched the students chase the turkeys. After a few minutes, Moon and Qibli walked into the room. Qibli burst out laughing as Moon snatched a turkey immediately.

“Clay!” She yelled.

“The turkeys got out.” The mudwing shouted back.

“Yeah, I got that.” Moon shook her head as Qibli pounced on a turkey. “Careful Qibli.”

Sunny chuckled, and the two dragons turned to her.

“Hey, do you know what’s going on?” Qibli asked.

“No, I’ve been… busy.” Sunny looked down.

“It’s cute.” Moon smiled. “Congrats.”

“Thanks.” Sunny smiled, then spotted Tsunami walking in to investigate the noise. “Nami!”

Tsunami jumped and walked over. “What happened?”

“Turkeys got out I guess.” Qibli told her,

“Care to explain what this all is?”

“Well, I found out from Michael that once a year, dragon families would gather together for a big meal and just enjoy each other. This happened way back when Darkstalker was alive, thousands of years ago. So, I learned as much as I can, and have decided to bring it back. Each winglet will have their own meal together, and we get one for ourselves.” Tsunami explained

“I… see.” Sunny replied

“So naturally, due to the amount of mudwings we have...” Tsunami trailed off.

“Hey!” Clay replied.

“We need a lot of food.” Tsunami mumbled.

After a couple of hours, they finally had corralled all the chickens.

“Alright.” Clay gasped. “Now for the… gross part. Sunny, you should probably go.”

Sunny immediately collected her egg and walked out of the room. Clay turned to Tsunami and sighed.

“Are you gonna help?” He asked her.

“Nope, but Peril will.” Tsunami turned and walked out after Sunny.

“We will help.” Moon smiled, and Qibli groaned.

“Ah fine.”

Moon smacked him with her wing.

“Alright allright.” Qibli replied, then they got to work.

Sunny watched as Starflight and Deathbringer set the table. She looked over and watched as Glory nuzzled and cuddled with her egg.

“It is so beautiful.” Glory told her.

“Thanks.” Sunny smiled.

“And warm, It’s almost like a little spot of sun.” Glory cuddled up with the egg, fully wrapping around it.

Sunny chuckled, and smiled at her sister figure. The nightwings finished setting the table, and some of the guests started to arrive. Turtle and Anemone sat down with their rainwing partners, as well as Sundew and Willow, Bumblebee in between them. Over the next our, the rest of the participants arrived, and the food was brought in.

Tsunami stood up and cleared her throat. “I would like to thank you all for being here today. Hopefully this is the first of many of these meetings. Thank you all for being here, as a family, this group here means everything to me. I love you all, so much.”

Riptide nuzzled her as she sat back down. Starflight smiled at her, and they began to dig in. Sunny enjoyed the feeling of her egg against her stomach as she was surrounded by her favorite people. She quickly ate her fill and leaned back to talk with her family.

“So…” Tsunami spoke first. “Anybody have anything interesting happen recently?”

Sunny looked down, and the table erupted with laughter.

“Other than that.” Tsunami added.

“Well, Bumblebee took her first flying lesson.” Willow added.

“Aw.” Tsunami looked at the smiling hivewing. “And how did that go?”

“Not well.” Sundew laughed, and Willow shot her a look.

Sunny leaned against Starflight. “Well, I think that’s great.”

Bumblebee smiled proudly.

“Well.” Sundew smiled proudly. “You should have seen her at our wedding.”

“Our little adorable dragonet.” Willow nuzzled her proudly.

After a while, everybody finished their food, and started to return to their rooms. Glory stayed with Sunny and they hugged.

“I’ll be leaving tomorrow, I love you.”

“I love you too Glory.” Sunny smiled. “See you.”

Glory left with Deathbringer, and Sunny walked with Starflight into their room.

“So, what did you think?” Starflight asked.

“I liked it, a large family dinner.” Sunny smiled and set her egg down, curling around it. “I just wish we did it more often.”

Starflight curled around her. “Next year we should have more members.”

Sunny blushed. “Yeah.”

“I love you, night sun.”

“Night star.”

“And night little Eclipse.”

Sunny beamed and buried her face in his neck. She fell asleep surrounded by love.
