Chapter 1: The Proposal
This will be the start of the corgi-verse. I really hope you enjoy it, because there is more to come.
Disclaimer: These are anthropomorphic characters only. They are sentient creature with the will to consent. Now, with that being said, it is time to breathe life into the Corgi-verse.
Our story begins at the creation of the world known as Cania. Three beautiful fox goddesses stood upon a great and fierce mountain and began to breathe life into the lands below. This great mountain would come to be know as Mt. Kitsu, mountain of the great fox spirits. Then came the clans that would soon dominate this world. To the north, the wolf tribe, known as Himata. To the south, the panther tribe, known as Kundai, and to the west is where our story begins, with a humble tribe of corgis known as the Rudahn. (There are many other tribes in this world but for now these 3 are the main focus.) The Chief of the Rudahn was a strong and cunning leader who only wanted peace, but that would soon become a short-lived fantasy as the Kundai were starting to run out of food in the south and were looking to expand their territory by gaining a foothold in the east. This would soon spark a war that would go on for the next 5 years, until the chief’s daughter stepped forward with a proposal. Her name was Luna, and she would marry Argo, the prince of Kundai. Soon after she would be him a son, as a testament to the declaration of peace between the tribes. Not long after the Himata tribe would join them and for 300 years, they would continue to expand their territories, building a thriving civilization, known today as the Kingdom of Woofingshire, right beneath Mt. Kitsu.
The world of Cania was a beautiful and elegant world, bursting with many races, tribes and kingdoms that were world protecting. Woofingshire, became know far and wide for its rich tapestry of historical prowess. A great kingdom where many walks of life had settled.
Fast forward to the present day, a King Corgi, made a solemn proclamation in the middle of the busy streets. “Today marks 300 years since our ancestors came and founded the kingdom of Woofingshire.” Said the King in a firm but commanding tone. “So, in honor of our ancestors, I will be holding a gala at the castle. Any and all are welcome to attend.” Then, he turned and left, hearing the crowd in the street, as they erupted in cheers. “Here is to our great and noble king”, they would say. “May he reign forever.”
That night, King Corgi sat on his throne, as the gala unfolded. There was food, wine, dancing, and people telling jokes. However, the King was lonely. The throne next to him, just rustic slab of marble, that was devoid of a mate that he could share his world with. Then, suddenly through, the crowd, he spotted her. A tall and slender german shepherd with long violet flowing locks. “Who is that?” He asked his advisor while pointing at her through the dancing crowd. The advisor bent down next to the King’s ear. “That is Astrid, the nobleman’s daughter” he said knowingly. “Bring her to me” the king said. The Advisor got up and made his way over to Astrid. “Hello there, sorry to interrupt your evening, but the King wishes to have an audience with you. Please follow me.” Astrid was a bit hesitant but followed the royal advisor back to King Corgi. She bows promptly in respect to the Hierarchy. “Your highness, your advisor tells me that you wish an audience with me. To what do I owe the pleasure?”, she declares while trying to maintain respect. “Tell me Astrid “, he begins, “do you believe in love at first site?” This was an out of the blue question that seemed to catch her off guard, but she made an effort to respond in kind. “I do your highness”, said bellowed sternly. “I am not sure, what that has to do with me though.”
“I was just getting to that, dear Astrid,” he proclaimed again. “With your father permission, I would ask for your hand in marriage. Be my queen and rule at my side.” She was stunned by his proposal and wasn’t sure how to respond in that moment. “You don’t have to answer now, but think it over and enjoy the rest of this evening’s festivities.” As the night began to wane, and the villagers and nobles all went home in a drunken stupor, the King made his way to the courtyard. There he saw Astrid again. “Beautiful night, isn’t it?” He said, making her suddenly turn her head in surprise. “My lord,” she responds, her voice sounding frantic. “No need for formality here, dear Astrid,” he replies. “Think of me as just any other commoner. I may be a King but that’s not all that I am.” Astrid began to think back on Corgi’s proposal earlier that evening. “I have decided that I will marry you, on one condition,” said Astrid. “Name it,” he replied. “Save my father and I am yours,” she said with tears in her eyes, as she held up a letter that was addressed to her.
The letter reads: Dearest Astrid, we have your father. If you want him alive, then bring us 30,000 gold pieces.
Signed, the Lordos Gang.
“The Lordos Gang, I have heard that name before,” said King Corgi. “They are a gang of thieves. They originated from the Romali tribe, south west of the here. A bunch of the thieving Lions!” Shouted Corgi. His anger boiling over like a hot spring with too much water. “Don’t worry Astrid, I will confront the bandits myself and they will know my wrath,” he said commandingly.
