Audino vs Tyrantrum

Audino comes face to face with Tyrantrum, though will he be able to withstand the brute force of the opponent?


As the match started, Audino gulped… As far as he knew, Tyrantrum just from his appearance was incredibly savage with how he fought, not to mention how he was seemingly beaten by Walrein in a thick layer of ice… Only to break out of it and turn the tables on him. Audino knew there was no way he can beat him in a fight, but maybe he could disable Tyrantrum instead… So that’s what he had been preparing for this whole match…

“To think the king would match me up with a pipsqueak like you… But don’t think I’ll go easy on you, I will destroy and break you in every way possible” Tyrantrum said sadistically.

Audino had nothing to say to him, he couldn’t fathom a king like him, and certainly wouldn’t even consider batting an eye if he did become one.

Despite the power difference, he still knew that all pokemon’s consciousness can be directly severed for a while, and that was what he intended to do.

From what he gathered in his fight against Spinda, disabling the body wasn’t enough against the fighters in this roster, he should be disabling their consciousness instead. He didn’t need to beat Tyrantrum, he just needed to render him unable to keep fighting.

“Nothing to say? Then I’ll make you scream!” Tyrantrum said before he started charging right at Audino, his battleaxe in hand as he intended not to show mercy at all, just as he said earlier.

Audino couldn’t try to disable him, at least not yet, and threw a small ball right in front of him before the ball started emitting a thick smoke that obscured the whole arena.

“A smoke grenade… As the humans called it back then…” The king said as he watched, amused as he wondered what Audino intended to do.

“What… I can’t see what’s happening!” Grumpig announced as he tried to get a good glimpse from the stands.

“Though is this even enough to gain an advantage on Tyrantrum? It seems like we won’t be seeing anything for a while!” Gliscor said as he tried to peer through the foggy smoke.

Just as Tyrantrum leaped towards Audino, the pokemon ran away from where he was, leaving a small crater from where Tyrantrum struck, with his opponent now obscured by the smoke.

Tyrantrum looked around, he could hear little footsteps, only to hear it stop.

“I can hear you prattling around you pest” Tyrantrum said threateningly as he started heading to where what seemed to be Audino’s footsteps had stopped… Only to hear fast erratic sounds of footsteps right behind him.

“...!” Tyrantrum immediately spun around, swinging his battleaxe, not intending to spare the small runt to trick and deal a blow to him.

Tyrantrum missed completely with his sideway swing, with someone just as small laying on his side, on top of his arm.

“Awww… Pest? Doesn’t that seem rude to him?~” Spinda said, before he gently tapped a finger on Tyrantrum’s arm.

“Your tricks won’t work you…!” Tyrantrum was about to swing again… But found his arm couldn’t even move.

“Wondering why you couldn’t move? Ask Audino himself, there’s a lot I can learn with ki points of a pokemon’s body” Spinda teased.

Tyrantrum roared before snapping his jaws right at Spinda, but the unpredictable movements of the martial artist were too unpredictable, and found his jaw tied up with Spinda’s gi belt.

“At tut, let’s get rid of your other leg shall we?” Spinda said before he poked another ki point in Tyrantrum’s right leg, disabling the limb… Temporarily at least.

With the left arm and right leg now having no contro, the tyrant was now forced to let go of his battleaxel, Spinda intended to make short work for the other two working limbs.

“You think… I can’t escape through this… Paralysis…!?” Tyrantrum growled as he started trying to flex his back, forcing his nerves to overflow with blood through the clogged ki points and restoring control on both his arm and leg… Until Spinda poked his back instead.

“Ohhhhh thanks for the pointers! I should disable your back muscles first!” Spinda said before he started poking several points of his back.

“You vile piece of excrement!!!!” Tyrantrum, now filled with rage and annoyance at the elusive fighter who dodged his restrained attacks.

“Ah uh uh! You should work on your accuracy you know~” Spinda said as he went back to disabling each limb.

The smoke was finally clearing, and the crowd saw Tyrantrum having a hard time hitting Spinda.

As hard as Tyrantrum fought him, he was slowly losing control of his arms and legs completely, until he was now completely immobile.

“Rejoice… No paralysis can hold me for long… This is the greatest victory you can achieve before I slowly destroy you both!” Tyrantrum said as his eye started twitching, his face becoming more red with rage.

“You’re right, we can’t beat you through paralysis, you’d probably be hard to knock out with any attack both of us can do, after all, we’re weaker than what you probably been trained your whole life” Spinda said as he sat on top of Tyrantrum’s back.

Audino finally appeared, bringing out a syringe with what seemed to be some sort of chemical in it.

“Which is why we’re not going to beat you. We’re going to put you to sleep. Right into your spine, I doubt you can stretch or pop your bones enough to force yourself awake” Audino said as he got ready to inject him.

Tyrantrum began to laugh… A laugh that seemed deranged.

“You can try, but you’re making a huge mistake with that” Tyrantrum’s annoyance turned into an evil grin.

Spinda and Audino didn’t know what he meant by that, but Audino wasn’t falling for what he assumed was a bluff…

Audino then aimed for the weak part of Tyrantrum’s back, injecting the anaesthetic right into Tyrantrum’s back.

“G-Gugh…!” Tyrantrum slowly began to fall unconscious, his eyes slowly closing, signalling he was now fully unconscious.

“He’s… He’s really unconscious…” Grumpig said as he saw Tyrantrum not moving at all.

“A brilliant strategy… Everyone start counting!” Gliscor encouraged the crowd.

With the work done, Spinda got off of Tyrantrum’s back and smiled at Audino, who smiled back at him.

“10… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2-” The crowd chanted as they assumed the match was over.

Suddenly, Tyrantrum’s arm shot up, grabbing Spinda’s body tightly in a death grip.

“A-AAUUUGHHH!!!” Spinda cried out in pain, loud wails of agony ringing out to the crowd as he felt crushing pain on his ribs as he tried to escape Tyrantrum’s hold.

Audino could only watched, shocked… He couldn’t move… It was impossible… He was sure Tyrantrum was unconscious!

“What’s going on!?” Grumpig yelled as he watched Spinda’s overconfident face, now with one of terror and pain, scream from the suffering.

“His… His eyes… What’s up with him…!?” Gliscor pointed out.

Tyrantrum looked more like a zombie, his eyes were open, but he didn’t look alive at all… His pupils couldn’t be seen at all if you looked at where his irises were.

Audino started to use one of his moves, dazzling gleam, and fired a beam of bright light at Tyrantrum as his body glowed brightly in an attempt to free Spinda.

The dazzling gleam hit Tyrantrum… But it was as if Tyrantrum couldn’t even feel pain at all, as he continued squeezing Spinda’s body.

Tyrantrum was like a zombie with the way he moved… It was as if Audino had inadvertently made him stronger.

“I have heard rumors among his clan… Audino wasn’t the only one to think of something like this” The king said.

“What do you mean my lord?” Chatot asked him.

“Reports from years ago that someone attempted to knock Tyrantrum unconscious similar with blow darts. It only made him unstoppable, unfeeling from all pain… That is why I forbid involving my army with him” The king informed Chatot.

Chatot now remembered… He remembered a whole battalion of soldiers had lost a battle, and were forced to flee… It was the most devastating battle, with the most intense injuries they ever had. He now remembered who was responsible for that incident.

“He is… It’s like his body is on autopilot…!” Gliscor said as he felt too scared, hoping that he wouldn’t be expected to raise Tyrantrum’s hand if he won.

“Um… H-He’s unconscious… Shouldn’t he be disqualified?” Grumpig said as he watched fearfully.

“No… He is still fighting. He can’t be disqualified, since the fight has to continue until one is unable to continue fighting. I didn’t say anything about falling unconscious” The king said, acknowledging the technicality of the fight.

As the dazzling gleam faded, Tyrantrum was still holding Spinda’s body, his body appearing a bit damaged, but otherwise not that hurt, it was as if he can’t feel any pain.

Tyrantrum’s body then threw Spinda’s body right at Audino, who tried to catch him as they rolled from the force of the throw.

“Spinda… Can you move!?” Audino asked Spinda with concern.

“Yes but… I don’t think I can fight as effectively as before…!” Spinda said as he felt his ribs were hurt.

“Stand back… I’ll… I’ll think of something…!” Audino said, standing up as Tyrantrum’s body was heading towards them, the body twitching mad as the paralysis that Spinda gave it had a hard time moving… But also made it scarier than it should be.

Audino didn’t know what to do now… He couldn’t think of a plan… How do you even beat someone who can barely feel anything? He had to fight… He had to fight unless he wants them to die!

Audino then used hyper voice, a loud screeching sound that came from his throat as the force of the sound slowed down Tyrantrum…

“Ngh… So loud…!” Grumpig said as he covered his ears.

“You’re telling me… My ears are more sensitive than others…!” Gliscor said as he did the same.

Tyrantrum’s body however kept going, a minor inconvenience as he forced himself to walk despite the sound’s force.

Audino yelled louder, but felt his throat starting to hurt as he held the hyper voice.

Tyrantrum stepped closer… And closer… And closer… Until he managed to reach Audino and choked him tightly.

But then, as he did reach him, Tyrantrum felt his consciousness returning, and with him slowly being aware of what was happening, smirked as he then kneed Audino hard in the stomach.

“G-Graugh…!” Audino said, choking from the abdominal pain as he felt the strong force of the knee in his gut, feeling tears come as he laid on the ground in pain, so much pain he couldn’t even get up.

“U-Um… L-L-Let’s count… 10… 9… 8-” Grumpig tried to count.

Tyrantrum then picked Audino up by his arms.

“Who said the match is over? He is still conscious isn’t he? Stop counting or you’re next” Tyrantrum threatened Grumpig.

“...” Grumpig stopped, Tyrantrum… Didn’t want the match to stop yet?

Tyrantrum then turned his head back to Audino, and headbutted him.

“Come on! Where was all that smugness!?” Tyrantrum said as he kept headbutting Audino’s head against his.

“Y-Your majesty… Surely this is going too far…!” Gliscor, and everyone else turned to the king.

“... A king… May assert his power… However he may want. He hasn’t won yet, and nobody is allowed to interfere except the contestants and slaves” The king stated, not willing to stop the match.

Everyone felt horrified by the king’s words… Now forced to watch such a barbaric display in front of them, the crowd feared for what was going to happen if Tyrantrum won the whole tournament.

Audino’s vision was now blurry, he couldn’t stay conscious much longer if this went further, one more headbutt and he would lose…

“Sorry… Brother…!” Audino said as he felt a tear roll down his cheek, wondering if he would even be alive to return to him.

Tyrantrum was about to give one more headbutt, but felt an uppercut to his chin, not powerful enough to hurt him, but it did force him to drop Audino.

Audino opened his eyes, seeing Spinda was still standing, holding the side of his body to face Tyrantrum.

“I’ll be your opponent, I haven’t shown you what I can do yet!” Spinda said as he intended to protect Audino despite his injury.

“You… Yes… I will grind you into a fine paste on this arena!” Tyrantrum said as he slammed his fist down on Spinda, who was barely able to dodge now with his injured side.

“Spin… D-Da…!” Audino gritted his teeth, he felt… Powerless… He was just a normal doctor when he entered the tournament… Was he even able to win in the first place? Was Spinda going to die here with him?

Spinda dealt a few blows like before, but he had a great challenge dodging like he used to, until he finally slipped up and Tyrantrum managed to grab his legs.

“Got you now!!!” Tyrantrum laughed hysterically before he started slamming him on the floor, as if he was a toddler slamming his plushie into the ground.

Audino’s heart shattered as he looked at Spinda, unable to defend himself as he got slammed on the ground repeatedly.

Spinda couldn’t even catch himself or soften the blow, and after a few more times being treated like a ragdoll by Tyrantrum, the dinosaur pokemorph slowed down.

“Heh, is that all you could do? Come on!!! Scream for me!” Tyrantrum said before grabbing one of Spinda’s arms.

“AAAAAAAGGHHHH!!!” Spinda screamed, feeling his arm break, and started crying.

Audino saw Spinda cry for the first time, and resolved himself to keep fighting but couldn’t as he was too injured, but Audino didn’t care. He already lost his brother to a sudden coma… And he would not lose Spinda to a foolish fight he decided he’d take in…, and at that point, something happened.

The stone that Spinda gave Audino yesterday started floating out of his doctor’s coat… And glowed pink.

Audino started glowing, a bright pink light engulfing him as his body started glowing bright pink.

As Tyrantrum relished in Spinda’s suffering, he let go as he looked at the sudden bright light coming from Audino.

“What…?” Tyrantrum said, this was a total anomaly to not only him, but everyone in the arena.

“What… What is that?” Gliscor asked.

“Evolution?” Grumpig wondered.

“... Mega… Evolution” The king said as he watched in amusement.

The bright pink light disappeared, and Tyrantrum saw that all the injuries he had given him earlier were gone, as if he were fresh into the fight… But the more concerning thing for him was that… He felt like he was in actual danger… He never felt this before… And he hated it… He had sought powerful opponents to fight and break all his life, and no matter how strong they were, he never feared for his life… So why was he feeling like this now?

“I don’t know what form that is, but I’m going to break you just like your friend here!!!” Tyrantrum said as he started charging at Audino again.

Audino started floating up in the air and lifted his hands up to the sky, and a projection of the moon then appeared right above him, almost as big as the arena itself.

Tyrantrum stopped, not comprehending what he was staring at.

“You… You think a giant rock can scare me!? I destroyed mountains with my strength!” Tyrantrum growled, leaping right at Audino.

The moon glowed brightly, before it shot a bright light like it was a nuke, sending Tyrantrum hurtling back down and blasting the arena with a large crater, centered on where Tyrantrum was hit.

Tyrantrum’s body sizzled, completely taken out of the fight as he lost…

“Is… Is he gonna get up again?” Grumpig asked as he expected him to get up.

“I don’t know… But what I do know is we should start counting!” Gliscor said as the crowd got riled up.

“10… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… 0!!!” The crowd chanted before the match was finally over.

As Audino officially won, the mega evolved fairy type didn’t bask in his victory, and ran over to Spinda.

“Spinda! Spinda! Wake up! We won!” Audino yelled, tears coming out of his eyes as he tried to shake him awake. He used heal pulse on him, healing most of the injuries.

Spinda didn’t respond for a while, before finally showing signs of consciousness, using a hand to grab onto his shoulder.

“You owe me… Some booze… Later… zzz…” Spinda smiled, before going back asleep.

The medics of the tournament soon went over and began attending to Spinda, while Grumpig and Gliscor started asking Audino questions about the match.

“Audino, that was a captivating form you’ve shown us. How did you manage to do that?” Gliscor asked him.

“It’s… I don’t even know what that was, but it felt like I unlocked the full potential of my natural powers… This is the first time I actually had this happen to me” Audino answered Gliscor.

“Do you think you can use this power in your future matches?” Grumpig asked him next.

“I don’t know… But it would come in handy if I can do it again, it’s like I could practically do almost anything, like nobody can stop me” Audino answered Grumpig.

“This is such a phenomenon… We’ve never heard of this before” Chatot said, before the king stood up from his throne.

“That… Is mega evolution. You carry a mega stone with you, one that especially tied to your species. That stone enables you to tap into a hidden potential, a lost art that humans underwent with their pokemon to tap into their hidden power. Back then, humans could make our kind tap into the power of our mega evolved forms of a select few pokemon, but now they are lost, and so has mega evolution. While it is possible to mega evolve, only in drastic situations has anyone ever mega evolved. And you have seemingly found a mega evolution that gives you that form. Consider yourself lucky, however, don’t count on mega evolution to save you. With the loss of humans, our kind can only tap into it in the most dire circumstances” The king explained to Audino and everyone.

“Fascinating! So there are only a select few species that can mega evolve! And that’s only if they got a mega stone and their time of need!” Gliscor said.

“You really are lucky to have gotten a mega stone!” Grumpig said as Audino looked at Spinda.

“Yes… I really am…” Audino said as he smiled at Spinda, who groaned in pain as his arm was twisted back to normal by one of the medics.

“In other news… It’s… PUNISHMENT TIME!” Gliscor and Grumpig yelled, as the king imbued the slave crest onto Tyrantrum’s stomach.

The mega evolved Audino approached the savage beast, who had finally gotten unconscious as his body, for the first time, felt battered and bruised from a blow for the first time.
