Ren and VT go on a camping trip together, and Ren reveals a wild side that VT never suspected! Story contains some soft vore, but nobody gets digested! A story Ren and I collaborated on! Always a pleasure to write with him! Ren belongs to himself, and VT belongs to me!

“Did we really have to take the bus VT? I could have just run us there…” Ren grumbled in complaint to his canid friend sitting a bit less uncomfortably next to him. The towering nine foot dragon was as cramped as could be, scrunching as best he could too little effect on the small cramped bus. He was surprised it even held his weight as he shifted slightly for the umpteenth time to try to get comfortable. He accidentally elbowed VT in the neck in the process, eliciting an irritated grunt from the Rottweiler. “While I totally believe you could have run us there, I think the bus is probably faster!” VT replied, rubbing his sore neck where Ren had mistakenly elbowed it. “Debatable! I’m running us back, we’ll find out which is faster, and I know I am!” Ren said with a cocky grin. VT chuckled and rolled his eyes, but also secretly wondered if Ren was serious about running them back. “You think all these muscles are for nothing, hm? My legs are pretty ridiculous, so I will be taking us back just to prove you wrong!” Ren said, giving VT a soft jab with his elbow before yelping in surprise, quickly raising his hand to brace himself against the seat in front of him as the bus came to a sudden stop. The PA system crackled to life as the driver announced the current stop and people disembarked to the town. “I believe our stop is the next one Ren, just need to stay scrunched for a bit longer, then we can make our way to our campsite.” VT said with a sigh. He was ready to be off the bus as much as Ren was, especially after being practically pinned against the window by Ren’s bulk the whole ride! “Fuuuckkk…” Ren said with relief through a loud groan, setting his pack on the exposed dirt of their campsite. The massive dragon began doing several stretches, the muffled popping of joints came from them as VT looked around the remote site. Tall conifers lined the forest bordering the clearing they were staying in, and a small ring of stones with some old charring from a fire, at least a month or two ago. “You wanna get our tents set up? We still got light to do it!” VT asked as he turned to Ren, who had finally finished stretching out. “Yeah, that sounds like a good plan, you can set up yours and I'll get the fire started! I'll set up my tent later, I have excellent night vision!” Ren replied to VT, looking out into the forest. The rottie could only suspect that Ren was bound to bring a whole log back and split it himself as he walked off into the forest. With a sigh and shake of his head, VT plopped his pack on the ground to start unpacking. A little over an hour later… Another loud, shrill creak followed by an earsplitting ‘CRACK!’ of wood, almost like a gunshot, interrupted the quiet noises of crackling fire and evening choir of insects, making VT jump in his seat. He cursed loudly to himself as he almost dropped his hot dog on a stick into the fire and looked at Ren exasperatedly “Can you WARN me before you split a log Ren?! It's so damn loud!” VT nearly shouted at Ren, who was holding a split in half trunk section in his hands. His shoulders slouched in embarrassment before he tossed another split log into the low fire. “Sorry… fire was getting low.” Ren said with a hint of embarrassment, setting down the log he split and dusting off his dust and splinter coated lap. “Ugh, sorry, didn’t mean to snap at you, just startled the crap out of me” VT said apologetically, his ears pinning back a bit. Ren chuckled and nodded as he sat down next to VT. Until they made camping chairs that could hold two tons, Ren would have to settle for the ground. Ren grabbed a hotdog from the package, and held it in the fire after poking it onto his claw, not even bothering with a stick. VT shook his head in disbelief. The fire didn’t even singe the scales of Ren’s hand as he hummed quietly, turning the hotdog over the flames. When he was satisfied it was cooked enough, Ren tossed it in the air, his jaws snapping shut loudly when it landed in his mouth. Ren sighed and leaned back, gazing up at the sky. VT looked up as well with Ren, amazed at the sight. The sky was clear, and this far away from the city the stars weren’t obscured by light pollution. VT couldn’t recall ever seeing so many glittering stars at once. “Wow… so many stars!” VT said in awe at the sparkling sky, the bright band of the galaxy sprawled over the sky. “Hey look, it’s the dragon constellation!” VT exclaimed excitedly, pointing towards the bright stars whose pattern resembled the long body of a feral dragon. “Yea, it’s funny how the stars still look the same to me, even after hundreds of years” Ren said nonchalantly. For a few seconds, they both kept gazing peacefully at the stars before it sank in for VT what Ren had said. “Wait… hundreds?” VT said with a look of pure disbelief, staring at Ren as he wondered if he had actually heard him correctly. “You're just… talking about observations from the many astronomers over time, right Ren?” VT asked Ren, who was still looking quietly up at the stars as VT tried to rationalize his friend's comment. “Oh, no my own! Been around for a lot more years than you thought… I think at least maybe a thousand or so! Kinda lost count when I was hiding away heh…” Ren said shyly as he looked at his friend, whose face was struggling to process this information. “But you said you were 23!? How-” VT was about to fire a rapid barrage of questions to his draconic friend, only to find his jaws being gently pinched shut between Ren's huge fingers. “It's a long story, but there's some subtleties that could give it away if thought on more deeply! I’ve got a body no normal person could attain in their own lifetime, y'know? Let alone 23 years!” Ren explained as he lifted his shirt up to display his pillowy pecs and abs. VT couldn’t help but agree as he looked at the deep, chiseled abdomen of his draconic friend. He had the physique and scars of a warrior, that was for sure! He had always wondered where the long jagged scar across Ren’s abdomen had come from, but didn’t quite have the nerve to ask. “I knew dragons lived long lives, but a thousand years…” VT said with wonder. “I have no idea how long I’ll live, but feral dragons can live for thousands of years! Heh, I'll probably live longer with my blood!” Ren told him with a bit of a forlorn tone towards the end as he trailed off and laid back on the cool grass “Do feral dragons even still exist? I would love to see one someday!” VT said contemplatively, trying to lighten the mood. “I’m sure there’s still a few out there, yeah. In fact I have a feeling there's one not too far from here!” Ren said with a soft smile, his voice with a tone of nervousness still at the mention of other dragons. “Well, I guess I’ll just have to settle for you in the meantime!” VT said with a laugh, playfully elbowing Ren’s meaty bicep. “Why don’t we call it a night? We can get an early start on our hiking tomorrow?” Ren suggested. VT nodded his agreement. Before heading to his tent, Ren smothered the fire with his foot. He crushed the ashy logs to powder, then repeatedly twisted his foot to grind the hot coals into the ground. He then doused it with a jug of water, then poured some more water over his soot covered foot to clean it. Satisfied, he crawled into his tent and promptly fell asleep. The duo awoke early to the sounds of birds chirping as the sun began to rise. Ren and VT yawned sleepily as they crawled out of their tents. VT wandered into the trees to relieve himself. When he came back Ren was rooting through his backpack, pulling out some food for breakfast. “Don’t you have to pee? Hell, I can rarely get through the night without having to go at least once!” VT said with a chuckle. “Nah, I would have to drink gallons of water before I might have to pee. My body is pretty efficient with practically no waste!” Ren replied absentmindedly as he went through his backpack. “Might have to pee? Are you telling me you don’t pee?” VT said with a laugh, but then upon further reflection realized during the rest stops on the way here Ren hadn’t used the bathroom once. Ren turned to him and grinned. “Like I said, unless I drank gallons and gallons, or ate a lot more than usual, I never have to use the bathroom! Pretty much nothing goes to waste in my body!” Ren exclaimed, proudly patting his taut abs before putting a new shirt on. VT could only shake his head in disbelief. “Must save a fortune in toilet paper! That is if you even have a…um…you know” VT joked with a slightly embarrassed laugh. “Are you asking if I have a tailhole? Of course I do! Here, I’ll prove it!” Ren exclaimed, lifting his tail and reaching back as if to lower his shorts. “No, no! I believe you!!! You don’t have to show it to me!” VT said quickly, laughing awkwardly. Ren grinned at him, then motioned for him to join him. “Now come on, breakfast time!” Ren said cheerfully. After breakfast, Ren and VT shouldered their packs after breaking down camp, and set off down one of the many hiking trails near their campsite. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, the sky was clear, and the temperature was warm, but a light breeze helped them stay refreshed as they walked down the wide trail. They didn’t speak much, simply enjoying each other's company, and taking in the sights. After walking the wooded trail for quite some time, it suddenly opened up into a meadow that stretched for what seemed like miles. Colorful flowers bloomed across its expanse, pollinators flitted through the air amongst the carpet of flowers surrounding a large, sparkling shallow pond. “Wow, would you look at that!” VT marveled “A field like that needs to be romped in!” Ren exclaimed before violently sneezing once and shaking his head. Something must have got into his sensitive schnoz, VT suspected before turning his head up to Ren “Wait… Romped in?” VT asked with a raised eyebrow and chuckled. He was puzzled when Ren dropped his pack, and began removing his shirt and shorts. “Doing a little streaking eh?” VT remarked with an amused snort. “You should talk, you almost never wear clothes!” Ren retorted with a laugh. With his compression shorts off, Ren’s massive sheath and balls dangled free. “Yea, but I also don’t have a package big enough to store somebody in either!” VT exclaimed defiantly, Ren grumbling over his shoulder before turning towards VT, his hefty equipment sloshing and swaying as they settled down. “Remember last night when you said you wanted to see a feral dragon?” Ren asked with a grin, dropping to all fours. “Yea…wait, what’s going on…” VT’s voice trailed off and his eyes widened. Ren gritted his teeth in what appeared to be discomfort, and VT watched in shock as Ren’s limbs and torso began to stretch and grow before his eyes. Ren panted heavily as the sound of popping joints and stretching flesh filled the air. VT could only watch speechlessly as Ren grew and changed shape, even more orange hair erupted from his elongating neck and back into an even thicker mane! VT was in a state of bewildered amazement at Ren. Just when he thought he finally had Ren figured out, something crazy like this happened! He couldn’t have said how long it took, but finally Ren’s transformation seemed to be over, and a massive feral eastern dragon stood before VT. Ren sighed with relief and shook his thick mane, then grinned down at VT. “See! Told you there’s still a couple feral dragons out there!” Ren said cheerfully, his voice much deeper and rumbling in his changed form. VT could only gape, his jaw hanging open. Ren lumbered over to him, and slipped a massive finger under VT’s chin, and gently lifted his lower jaw to close it. “Gonna attract flies if you don’t close that!” Ren joked. “Well, what do you think? I'm one of the few left able to shift into this form!” Ren asked with a warm smile before striking a majestic pose straight out of a storybook. VT was speechless for another few seconds, his eyes wide enough to pop out of his head. Ren was already huge, but his feral form dwarfed his usual form. VT literally had to tilt his head back just to make eye contact! Ren’s huge head loomed over him, the hot breath billowing from his nostrils caused VT’s fur to ripple. The shock finally wore off, and VT began slowly circling around to Ren’s side for a better look. VT estimated Ren’s body to be at least 30ft long in feral form, not including the long tail that was lazily swishing back and forth through the meadow's tall grass, causing disturbed butterflies and moths to take flight. Ren stood patiently as VT inspected him. VT paused and peered between Ren’s hind legs. “Guess that’s always the same size regardless of your form?” VT asked with a chuckle as he motioned at Ren’s genitals. “Very funny! But yesss, it kinda adjusts for it, but nothing really changes ya dingus!” Ren said sarcastically, and grinned toothily at him, only to see VT’s face suddenly take on a more thoughtful look “You…you kind of look like the dragon in illustrations I remember from my history books back in high school… A dragon feared by other feral dragons, a slayer who hunted them relentlessly before disappearing himself. You aren’t…him are you?” VT asked nervously. Ren’s wide grin faltered slightly before looking down ashamedly. “I… would be lying if I said I never killed another dragon. But most of them were cruel, and only wanted to be worshipped. They used their powers to inflict misery and pain on others they deemed beneath them, which was pretty much everybody” Ren said with an undertone of simmering anger, his breathing had grown heavy, and he gritted his teeth as he thought back to those dark times. His talons dug into the ground, but he was startled back to the present when he felt VT’s hands gently exploring against his scaly side. He shook his head to clear his mind. “Wow… Your scales somehow feel even warmer in this form! You feel like a warm rock on a sunny day!” VT said in awe, trying to change the topic as he marveled at the dragon, and slowly ran his hand along Ren’s large side. He could feel the dense, sinuous muscle flowing under his scales before Ren sighed contentedly, the dark thoughts fading from his mind. He was pulled from his dark past, and once again firmly rooted in the present. “Say, wanna go for a ride?” Ren offered, his good mood restored as he grinned mischievously at VT. VT was left speechless by Ren’s offer. Before he could answer, Ren playfully bounded off into the meadow, being careful not to trample the flowers before splashing into the large shallow pond nearby. “C'mere you! Not every day you get to frolic with something straight out of a myth!” Ren yelled teasingly to VT, who was still standing there in shock. The Rottweiler was still in disbelief at the facts Ren told him. With a quiet rumble, Ren waded out of the pond, shook his body, sending droplets everywhere in a sparkly shower over the flowers, then walked over and sat next to his friend. “Sorry… if that was a bit much to take in. I know my past might sound frightening, but rest assured, you have nothing to fear from me.” Ren said comfortingly, resting a huge front handpaw on VT’s shoulders, causing him to slouch slightly under its weight. Ren leaned down and gave him a playful full body lick, causing VT to sputter as Ren’s huge tongue drenched him in drool from head to toe, but it succeeded in finally breaking VT out of his state of shock! “Gah! Dragon drool! Is it somehow even stickier now with you like this!?” VT complained, running his hands through his matted fur. Ren chuckled deeply, then lowered himself low to the ground, motioning to his back with his head, then grinning widely at VT. Not confirming nor denying… Now get on for a ride! Ren eagerly said, his long tail swishing in excitement! VT couldn’t help but grin back, and clambered up Ren’s side, the dragon using his foreleg to help him onto his back, then settling at the base of Ren’s neck. It wasn't every day you got to ride on a mythical beast! “I… don't think you can carry this… it's a few hundred pounds.” Ren chuckled awkwardly as he stood up, his large handpaw scooping up his hefty hiking pack with one finger to VT’s line of sight, VT’s own pack dangling from another clawed finger on his handpaw. “Yea, it weighs more than me! We aren’t going far are we, can’t we just leave it here for now?” VT asked, taking his own pack from Ren and reshouldering it. ”No problem, I got a place for it!” Ren said, tilting his head back as his jaws opened. Ren simply dropped his pack into his mouth, and swallowed it with a loud gulp! “Um, isn’t that going to get digested?” VT asked uncertainly. “Nope, I have more than one stomach, all are capable of storing things safely if I control my acids!” Ren explained enthusiastically, looking over his shoulder at VT “Huh, well apparently you aren’t bothering to control your stomach acids when I’M in there!” VT said somewhat sarcastically. Ren simply snorted in amusement at him. “Anyway… You should probably hang on tight!” Ren called over his shoulder as he faced forward. VT barely had time to frantically grab onto Ren’s mane before the dragon bounded into the field again. VT gritted his teeth and hung on for dear life as he was buffeted by the wind as Ren streaked across the meadow. Ren’s muscles moved smoothly beneath him as he bounded happily through the field, but suddenly Ren leapt, his powerful hindquarters tensing, then springing, releasing his long body into the air. VT assumed Ren was just leaping for fun, but they kept rising up at the sharp angle that Ren had leapt. VT finally dared to peek over Ren's whipping mane to see they were already several hundred feet up in the air, and still climbing! VT whined quietly, gripping Ren’s mane as tightly as he could, winding the long fur around his wrist to help secure his grip. “G-ghhhh… T-try not to pulllll…so hard!” Ren hissed through gritted teeth at feeling his mane being tugged so hard by VT. “Sorry, but I prefer not to plummet to my death!” VT hollered, but did his best to ease up slightly. ”All right, all right! Hey, I see a lake! I’m going to land there!” Ren called back to him. VT didn’t reply, grimly focusing on clinging to Ren’s back as they began to rapidly descend. At first VT thought Ren was going to simply plunge into the lake at the angle he was coming in, but at the last second he leveled out, coasting above the surface. VT sighed with relief, at least now if he fell off he would simply get wet, and not shatter every bone in his body! Ren trailed the tips of his claws in the water as they flew over, then slowed as they got to the shore before gently landing. VT slid off Ren’s back and flopped into the sand, relieved to be on solid ground again. Ren chuckled, then leaned down to give VT another full body lick. “Ack! Slimed again!” VT exclaimed, sitting up and wiping the drool off his face. “Why don’t you go hop in the lake? I’m going to go on a quick hunt. Being in this form burns a lot of energy!” Ren said, a loud rumbling growl emitting from his stomachs “Hunting? All right” VT replied, climbing to his feet. Ren’s nostrils flared as he sniffed the air, scents of potential prey were abundant. Choosing one, Ren suddenly bounded away without a word, slipping into the trees almost silently, strange for a dragon his size. VT wasn’t sure what Ren was going after, but he hoped there weren’t any stray hikers out there at Ren's mercy! VT took a short swim in the large lake while Ren was hunting, paddling around in the cool water for a bit. Eventually when he’d had enough, he found a fallen log to sit on at the edge of the beach while he patiently waited for Ren. He pulled a granola bar out of his bag and munched on it as he enjoyed the serene view as the sun became low in the sky. The lapping waves, the quiet rustling of wind through the leav- “BOO!” Ren yelled suddenly from behind him, causing VT to yelp loudly and tumble off of the log! He hadn’t even heard Ren sneak up behind him. “You bastard, I almost had a heart attack! How is something so big so damn quiet!” VT sputtered grumpily on the sand. Ren laughed, then walked onto the beach before flopping down on the ground. VT noticed Ren’s bulging stomach, and thought he could see faint movement beneath his scales. As VT walked closer, he heard Ren’s stomach gurgle loudly, before Ren belched loudly in his direction. VT gritted his teeth, his ears pressing down against his head at how loud it was. “Excuse me!” Ren said with a chuckle, putting a handpaw over his mouth as VT scowled playfully and fanned his hand in front of his face. “Well… What did you eat? Please tell me you didn’t eat any hikers…” VT asked as he put a hand against Ren's firm, yet slightly squirming stomach. “Nah, I wouldn’t have eaten any hikers. I found a herd of deer though! Those will keep me going for some time!” Ren said in satisfaction before coughing a bit, pounding his chest before hacking up a large, acid-chewed antler! Ren picked up, and flung it into the woods. VT shook his head before leaning against Ren, sliding down to sit against his scaly side. They sat quietly watching the sun setting. The feeling of Ren’s side slowly rising and falling against VT’s back was incredibly soothing as the prey within digested, causing Ren’s belly to ripple occasionally. “Well, I suppose I should set up my tent. Are you staying like that tonight?” VT asked Ren as he glanced at his pack. The dragon grinned and nodded before VT hoisted himself up and started towards his backpack. As he passed in front of Ren, he was caught by surprise as he was snagged by a large hand paw, and pulled firmly against Ren’s scaly chest. “You know, you don’t need your tent, I have somewhere warm where you can spend the night” Ren said mischievously, lowering his head to give VT another slow full body lick where he was pinned between his massive paws. “I’m sure you do- ACK!” VT exclaimed as Ren gave him yet another slobbery lick, utterly drenching him in drool as he repeatedly dragged his huge tongue over him. VT had assumed it would only be a matter of time on this trip before he ended up inside Ren, so he wasn’t particularly shocked by this turn of events. Ren lowered his head, his long tongue slithering over VT’s body, then winding around his upper torso and tightly pinning his arms to his side. Once firmly bound, VT was effortlessly dragged up into Ren’s yawning jaws by his powerful tongue. In Ren’s feral form, VT’s entire body easily fit into his mouth, and Ren’s jaws slowly closed once VT was inside. Ren’s tongue loosened and began licking him again, pushing VT’s body roughly against the ridged roof of his mouth as he ran his tongue over him repeatedly, tasting him as he purred loudly. After several more savoring licks, VT felt Ren’s head tilt back, as he slid down the undulating tongue towards the gaping throat. With a yelp at the sudden pickup in speed, VT slid down without effort, almost akin to fleshy waterslide with how wide Ren's glowing throat was! He barely touched the sides before sliding through a large stomach sphincter and being deposited within one of Ren’s stomachs with an ‘OOF!’ as he landed on the semi-firm floor of the glowing organ. “Grrghhh… Saw this coming…” VT muttered to himself as he wiped some of Ren's slime off his face and flung it off his hand in a slightly irritated flick of his wrist. Ren’s glowing blood made it so the stomach was bathed in a soft orange glow, and VT was surprised when he realized he was in the same stomach as Ren’s huge backpack. “Wait, so… You aren’t going to digest me for a change?” VT called out loudly so Ren could hear him. Everything began to vibrate as Ren chuckled. “We’re on vacation, I figured I would give you a day off!” Ren called back to him with a smug tone, his voice echoing through his body as VT took in his spacious fleshy chamber he was calling home for the night. The soft, firm beating of Ren's hearts were rather soothing alongside the quiet gurgling of his stomach walls, the rushing sound of his blood and his heaving lungs. “Well… admittedly it's far more comfier in here when it's not filled with acid!” Ren heard VT’s muffled reply from within him as he laid his head on the soft grass, the pink sunset reflecting on the still lake with the reflection showing the painted sky above. Ren purred quietly as he settled into his spot for the night, shifting around a bit more before drifting off. VT was about to fall asleep himself, but suddenly the thunderous sounds of Ren's snoring jolted him back awake! ”You’ve gotta be kidding me!” VT muttered. He crawled over to Ren’s large backpack, and began rummaging through it, he knew there were some paper towels in there somewhere. Finally finding them, he tore a sheet up and moistened them to create some makeshift earplugs. With his ears plugged, Ren’s snores were greatly dulled. Sighing, VT leaned back against the slick pulsating stomach wall, and was soon asleep again. VT was rudely awakened by Ren's glowing walls firmly compressing in on him, the sounds of retching reached his ears as he was pushed up the way he came in! With a few more powerful and skilled clenches of his throat, VT spilled out of Ren’s jaws onto the cool grass in a massive sticky puddle of Ren's orange tinted fluids! “Guh… m-morning! Heh…” Ren said with a chuckle as he wiped his mouth. VT shivered from a sudden gust of cool wind blowing against him, waking him up better than any cup of coffee could with the sudden temperature change and now being sodden in Ren’s sticky saliva and stomach fluids! “G-guh, it’s f-freezing out here!” VT said through chattering teeth as he crossed his arms and began rubbing his sides in an attempt to warm up. “You can always go back inside!” Ren offered with a toothy grin. “Buuuut in case you don’t want to, I got some logs and arranged them for a fire. I would have started it, but I can’t really use matches with these!” Ren said with a laugh, holding up his massive hand paws and wiggling his thick finger toes. VT hurriedly went to his backpack and rummaged through for some matches, then quickly got the fire going. “B-b-being a f-fire d-dragon… d-dont you have f-fire breath?!?” VT said through chattering teeth as Ren sat next to him, gently curling his tail around VT until just his head was sticking out to help him warm up. “That elemental breath you see all those other dragons breathing is magic based! I don't have a lick of magic, so I'm the odd one out!” Ren said as he stoked the now lit fire with his claw to get it going. “If I had magic on top of the physical strength I have, you know I'd be an absolute monster!” Ren said, chuckling as VT snuggled in contentedly in the warm confines of his tail. The fire was now almost completely unnecessary from the warmth of Ren’s soft scales surrounding VT. “It’s a shame we have to head back today, this has been a fun trip” VT said with a sigh as he looked up at Ren's large snout above him. Ren grinned down at him, giving him a gentle, reassuring squeeze with his tail. “Yea, it’s been fun running around in my feral form, but I suppose I should shift back. I don't often get to let loose like this for fear of being found… But I'm glad I could show you this” Ren said, sounding somewhat disappointed and mournful. He unwound his tail from VT as he stood up, and VT moved to sit by the fire, watching with interest as a look of concentration settled over Ren’s face. Ren took a deep breath, and exhaled slowly, his body beginning to slowly shrink. VT watched with just as much amazement as when he had watched Ren turn into his feral form, then his eyes widened in shock as something occurred to him. ”Ahh, wait!! Your backpack! You never coughed it up!” VT yelled warningly. Ren’s eyes widened in surprise as he continued to shift back to his usual form. “Oh shit! Well, too late now!” Ren said, laughing slightly as his body rapidly finished changing back. Once he had finished changing, he bent over as he began hacking and coughing. VT grimaced as he watched Ren’s neck begin to bulge grotesquely, his jaw popping loudly as it unhinged itself, and a moment later Ren’s huge backpack fell from his jaws, thudding to the ground in a large pool of dimly glowing orange fluids from Ren's stomach. “Well that probably would have been easier if you were still in your feral form!” VT said with a laugh as Ren popped his jaw back into place and wiped off his saliva, giving his jaw a few testing bites. “Guhh… Well Hey! Just be glad I coughed you up first! It would have been a tight squeeze!” Ren teased as he straightened back up, and began stretching his limbs, his joints popping loudly as he stretched his tense muscles. ”I’m far too familiar with how tight it is… Wait…do you even know where we are? Maybe you should have flown us back to where we originally took off!” VT said with slight panic in his voice. “Relax, relax! I know exactly where we are!” Ren said confidentially, pointing a clawed finger at something behind VT. He turned his head and looked over his shoulder to see what Ren was pointing at. Near the trees he spotted a sign with an arrow pointing down a path that read “Parking Lot” that he hadn’t noticed originally. ”Oh… well I guess we’re all set then! We're not lost in nature!” VT said with an exasperated laugh. “Hey we dragons have a damn good sense of direction!” Ren said indignantly before hefting VT up effortlessly and tossing him into the lake, much to VT’s annoyance. “Now wash off, you'll dry off on the run home!” Ren called to VT as he surfaced with a splash and scowled at Ren with a roll of his eyes. VT washed himself off in the lake to get the drool out of his fur, returning to shore to find Ren rummaging in his backpack for some breakfast bars. The mist rising from the lake was a sign that the water was actually warmer than the chilly air, though it was still brisk. VT shook himself off after wading back out, making Ren yell at him as he sent lake water droplets showering over him. “The hell man!?” Ren shouted indignantly before VT snatched the breakfast bar from Ren's hand before sitting next to him by the fire. “That’s whatcha get for tossing me in the lake!” VT said as he opened the wrapper, feeling Ren's glare burning holes into his head before he took a deep breath and sat back down on the rock. Pulling another breakfast bar out of the pack and opening it. They munched on their bars quietly as the morning calls of birds surrounded them as they prepared to leave. Finally, VT shouldered his pack and took one last look at the lake, taking in the serene sight before joining Ren at the trailhead towards the parking lot. As they entered the woods, VT grimaced when he caught a glimpse of a large pile of still slimy bones a ways off the side of the path. “Eww, are those the bones from the deer you ate?” VT asked, pointing at the pile of bones. “Yea… I hacked them up in the middle of the night, guess you slept right through it!” Ren said with a chuckle. “Wow, really? I will admit, it was unusually comfortable in there! That is, once I made some ear plugs to drown out your snoring!” VT teased, playfully elbowing Ren in the side. “Pfft, I don’t snore!” Ren said with an indignant growl, VT stopping to stare at him in disbelief. “Unbelievable!” VT muttered with a dismissive shake of his head, continuing down the trail At the parking lot, VT went over to the visitor center to find out info on the bus, while Ren wandered over to chat with a group of campers he spotted in the parking lot, striking up a conversation with them. After a few minutes, VT came out with the bus schedule and looked it over. Glancing up, he looked around for his orange haired companion, quickly spotting him bidding farewell to the campers, who looked rather grateful to him as he walked back to VT. “Looks like the bus will be here in about an hour. Who were those guys? Old friends?” VT said inquisitively, raising an eyebrow as he handed Ren the schedule, who had set his backpack down next to him. “Just some other campers, but like I told you when we got here, we aren’t taking the bus back!” Ren said, grinning at VT as he took the schedule, crumpling it and tossing it down his throat. “Wait… you were serious about running us back?…” VT asked in disbelief, a nervous smile growing on his face. “Damn straight! I was just giving those guys the stuff I don’t need from my backpack, since I need the space for you!” Ren told him, his grin growing wider as he grabbed VT under his shoulders and lifted him effortlessly. “You’re going to put me in your backpack…” VT said in further disbelief, trying to wrap his head around the situation as Ren flipped the top flap of his black open with his tail and lowered VT into it. “Yup, it’s plenty big enough!” Ren chuckled as he cinched the pack tight to keep VT in it. The pack was huge, and VT was kneeling comfortably with his head sticking out beneath the top flap. He heard Ren grumbling to himself as he searched the side pockets with growing frustration. Ren glanced at a motorcycle parked next to them, and snagged the aviator goggles dangling from the handlebars, then put them on VT. “I'm sure they have another pair in their bike, just don't want you getting bugs or debris in your eyes!” Ren said with a grunt as he lifted and shouldered his pack with VT in it. He tightened his pack straps, then walked to the road leading out of the parking lot, and dropped into a runners starting position low to the worn asphalt. “How about I take the bus and you run home?” VT asked with a nervous uncertainty, still in utter disbelief at the situation he found himself in. VT then looked back and down as he heard a quiet crunching sound as Ren’s claws pierced into the asphalt. VT still wasn’t completely convinced that Ren wasn’t just messing with him! Ren's calves bulged as the powerful muscles flexed and expanded in a show of strength, several veins popping under his scales, glowing brightly with Ren's luminous blood! “R-Ren!” VT stammered in alarm, realizing this was actually happening, quickly whirling his head back forward, and clutching at Ren’s shoulder as Ren LAUNCHED forward at breakneck speed. The sudden acceleration caused VT to tumble back down inside Ren’s backpack. After struggling briefly to orient himself, he managed to pull himself back up to stick his head back out again. The wind whipping past him caused his ears to flap violently against his head! ”Doing ok back there!?” Ren called over his shoulder, not even sounding out of breath as he pumped his arms, easily passing cars travelling in the same direction as they were. “This is crazy!” VT yelled back through the whipping wind, Ren's ears perking at his yell before VT ducked his head back down into Ren’s pack, the wind having been a bit much for him. It was a bit of a rough ride, and VT found himself bouncing off Ren’s firm, heaving back. He arranged Ren’s spare clothes, one of the few things he hadn’t given away, into an improvised padded barrier between himself and Ren’s back, although he could still clearly hear his heaving lungs and pounding hearts through the padding! VT pulled his phone out and grumbled with annoyance when he had to take it out of driving mode, realizing Ren’s speed had fooled it into thinking VT was in a car! He pulled up the maps app, and his eyes nearly bugged out of his head when he saw the estimated time to their destination. If Ren managed to keep up this pace, the trip home would end up being almost an hour shorter than when they came! VT groaned and settled into the makeshift padding, Hoping that Ren would make a few rest stops, lest he was in for a bumpy ride! Finally, VT woke up to Ren pulling his pack off, shaking it a bit to wake him up. “Hahhhh… hffffff… W-we're baaack…” Ren said through deep, gasping pants, his long tongue dangling from his jaws. Thick billowing clouds of steam poured from his mouth and nostrils, like an overheated machine. VT peeked out of the pack as Ren set it down and pulled up his goggles to see Ren squatting with his hands on his knees to catch his breath. “Did you even take a break!?” VT asked Ren in disbelief, having dozed off on Ren's run home. “N-nooo… I'll be… hffff… fineeeee… just gimme… a momentttt…” Ren said between slowing huffs, his tight shirt straining with how much his lungs were expanding and contracting. VT thought he could hear Ren's ribs creaking with the deep inhales, but dismissed it as he sat down on the grassy strip of lawn. “You know I'm not gonna be dragging your two ton ass up the stairs to your place, right?” VT said with a playful smirk. Ren only grumbled exhaustedly in response, giving the water hose on the side of the building some rather serious sideye, finally managing to catch his breath as he flopped onto the grass next to VT. “You couldn’t even drag my two ton ass two feet!” Ren teased back with a panting laugh, making VT chuckle and roll his eyes as he climbed back to his feet. “Cmon, let’s go up and order some food, I’m sure you need it!” VT said, grabbing Ren’s hand and tugging at him, though he might as well been trying to tug a boulder. Ren humored him by sitting back up, his breathing finally settling back into its normal rhythm. At the mention of food his stomach rumbled ominously. “All right, they might have to send two delivery guys for all I plan to order!” Ren said with a grin as he hoisted himself up. “I hope you aren’t planning to eat anymore delivery guys, you’re gonna get yourself blacklisted from all the food delivery places!” VT chided him with a playful elbow to his friend's burly arm. Ren simply grinned at him mischievously, then turned to head into the building. “Im not kidding Ren, we can’t order pizza from my favorite place now because of you when I'm at your place!” VT grumbled at Ren, but finally resigned himself with a sigh, following Ren into the building. VT hoped Ren would at least be able to refrain from eating him until he had at least gotten a chance to eat some food himself, because he had no doubt he would end up becoming dessert!
