The Chronicles of B and Geno: Chapter One It Starts… (Mature Advisory: Nudity, Tastefully Lewd) A kitsune man arrived at the base of a mountain trail. He got out of his car and adjusted his clothes, then set his sights ahead. He looked around, then back down at the trail entrance, sighed, saw the coast was clear and pressed forward. With a twitch of his two large tails, he slowly made his way into the forest, and up the long path ahead. From time to time, he reached for his phone in his pocket, but hesitated. “Need to stay focused. I came here to destress. To get my mind off things. Gotta resist the urge. Just keep moving…happy thoughts. Happy thoughts…just keep cool and relax. I’ll be fine.” The kitsune thought. Eventually, he emerged from the trail after what felt like miles. B knew he was completely alone, since he used a hidden trail only he knew about. He spotted an old brown log in the clearing and sat. He swished his tails, admired the natural beauty and soaked in the atmosphere. The wind blew softly through the trees and his fur, soothing him while leaves fell all around. A full moon shone over the dense, mountainous forest, its light covering the robust colorful clearing. Creatures stirred in the night, not a single soul in sight; all was peaceful. However, to his dismay, he still had the urge to check his phone. His name, B-Kitsune, or B, appeared on the screen after unlocking it. B was a young fox in his thirties with red on most of his body, white on his chest, belly, tail tips, inner ears, and muzzle, and black furred gloves and socks on his arms and legs along with ring markings on the base of his two tails. His nose and pads were also black. B had two deep blue eyes, complementing his blue jean shorts. The bright green neckerchief with a golden triforce etched on it and something hidden underneath paired with his plain green tank top that barely concealed his fit and slightly muscular body. In the photo, next to B was his friend, a Guilmon with the traditional red, black and white colorations and his eyes a deep, earthy brown. He wasn’t in the best of shape, being rotund, pudgy, and with a big belly. His arm was wrapped around B’s shoulder with a beautiful smile. He wore a blue plaid button up shirt, a white undershirt, and tan khaki shorts. The picture was from a vacation years ago. A beach, with an emerald blue ocean behind them and a bright sun beaming down on them. B swapped apps to check texts from his friend. Nothing new. His friend was still sick like he’d been for the past week. B had to carry the brunt of the work at the massage parlor back home where they worked. B had conversations with his friend from time to time. He wanted to check on him in person, but his friend insisted he didn’t have to. It was just a cold, and he could take care of it himself, so it was no big deal. His goal coming out here was to relax and clear his mind, yet worries persisted. A feral wolf howled in the distance, distracting him from the phone. He sighed and slipped his phone into his right pocket. Listening to the wolf, B gazed up at the night sky. Noticing how big and beautiful the moon was and how vast and expansive the stars were. Without any light pollution, he swore he saw constellations! It was nice compared to his usual, dinky, shoddy apartment, or the massage parlor he worked in. Not to say they were terrible, least not the massage parlor, but this place was a natural gem. Perhaps he should unleash “IT.” Might be a good way to help lighten the mood and ease his worries. B knew he was in the right place to avoid prying eyes. After some thought, B stood up, dusted his clothes off, and checked his surroundings. The coast was clear. First, he stripped off his neckerchief, a mysterious old rusted archaic half of a Digivice underneath, then a gray hoodie, followed up by the plain blue jeans. Next came his black and white tennis shoes, white socks, and dark green boxers. He set his clothes on top of the brown log nearby and slowly walked towards the center of the clearing, directly in the moonlight. Without warning, he heard a guy call out to him with a giggle. The man whistled flirtatiously towards the naked kitsune. “Oh my! I didn’t expect to get mooned tonight. Hehehe!” said the mysterious person standing behind B. “Almost lost you for a moment. Phew!” B gasped, jumped around, and saw who spoke. In front of B stood Geno. He looked at B and grinned. B yelped, eyes widening, face flushed red. He covered his genitals and bent over forward, trying to hide. B sweated profusely, his body burning and heart racing a million miles an hour. “Ah! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’ll put my clothes back on! Don’t look at me!” B said in a deep, southern American tone. Quickly looking everywhere for his clothes, he was too embarrassed to budge or notice where they had been placed. “It’s okay, relax! No need to feel ashamed! It’s not like I haven’t seen naked men before!” Geno said playfully as he approached B. “Quit joking around. It’s not funny!” B said. “Sorry. I’ll get your clothes. Here, take them.” Geno said, walking to the brown log and picking up B’s clothes. B tensed up, but he gave him his clothes. B was embarrassed and sighed. “Put them on. I won’t look at you.” Geno said, turning around with his eyes closed. B put his clothes back on quickly, somewhat relieved afterwards. “Okay. I’m done. Um, well…it was nice meeting you, but I have to go...” B said, nearly taking off. “W-wait Don’t go!” Geno said, pointing to the log. “Please talk to me. I saw how sad you looked back in town and thought I’d keep you company. Not only that, but something cool happened I need to show you. It’s very important.” B paused to think for a moment, nerves somewhat rattled from before. He debated if he should even talk to him. “You’re not trying to stalk me, are you?” B said. “No. Just a guy who cares for people. You have nothing to fear.” Geno said. “Are you sure?” B said, raising a brow. “Yes, I'm sure. If you’re uncomfortable, then you can leave. I won’t judge you for it.” Gaomon said, looking down at the ground with a saddened expression. B paused and thought about it. After debating with himself, he decided he’d give him a chance. He seemed pretty remorseful and genuine. “As long as you don’t do any more sneaky stuff, then I’ll stay.” B said, walking to the log and sitting on it. Geno soon followed suit. “Thank you; I shouldn’t have walked in on you like that. It was uncalled for. I’m really sorry.” Geno said in a soft, relaxed tone. “Thank you.” B said. “You’re welcome.” Geno said, smiling warmly. “…” B wrung his hands together, avoiding eye contact. “You okay?” Geno said, concerned. He snapped out of his nervous stupor. “Oh…uh…I’m sorry. Still a little jittery, but I’ll be fine. The name’s B-Kitsune, but just call me B.” B said, reaching his left handpaw out to Gaomon. Geno's eyes lit up. “That’s quite alright. I’m Geno! Nice to meet you!” He took B’s handpaw and shook it. “Your name sounds familiar. Are you a pro kickboxer and a big hero?” B said. “Yes, I am! I’m the kickboxing champion! One of the best in the world! A swordsman in the making and one of the best heroes to walk this Earth! It’s something I’m very proud of. Guess you could say I’m living the dream! Ehehehe!” Geno said, grinning and flexing his arm muscles. “Are you a fan, by any chance?” B gave a flat look, “Nope...not interested in sports. Thank you for your heroic services, though.” “Oh…well...that’s cool! I’m just glad to meet you! And you’re very welcome! It’s what I do!” Geno said, grinning with his eyes closed. “Even if you’re popular, from what I can tell…you’re a nice guy. Odd, but nice.” “Heh, I get that a lot.” “Not trying to be rude; we’re all odd in our own unique ways.” “Oh, I know.” “So, what brings you out here? Where were you when you saw me? Because I never saw you before now. And what’s this important thing you’re talking about?” “I was out getting food with my manager. I saw you walking down the road looking bummed out. My heart couldn’t take it, so I decided to follow you. I’ll tell you the important thing, but I want to know what’s wrong first.” “Um, okay? Why not come to me directly if you were so worried?” “But I did come to you, didn’t I? Even if it wasn’t the best way to go about it. I couldn’t come right away because I had to finish talking with my manager before I could take off. I wish I could have left sooner.” Geno said, placing his hand on something glowing in his pocket. “If that’s the case, I understand, I suppose. I really appreciate you coming out here to see me. This used to be my secret spot, but I guess that’s no more.” B said, glancing down at Geno’s pocket, perplexed. “Ha-ha! Don’t worry. I won’t tell a soul. I’ll keep it between us.” “Thank you.” “So what’s got you down, buddy?” “Oh…uh…it’s nothing. I just had a busy day at work. Worn out. I decided to come out here and unwind for a bit.” “Busy work day, huh? I can relate. It's not fun coming home from work, exhausted as heck. I can see why you were glum.” B paused for a moment, looking at the moon, before looking at Geno. “Um…well...as much as I’d like to chat, I did say I was tired. I should get going.” He said, getting up, stretching his limbs, and yawning. “Leaving so soon? I was hoping to get to know you better. And besides…aren’t you forgetting something?” He said, bummed. B felt guilt well up inside, and he sighed. “Okay, okay. I’m sorry. It’s rude of me to just run off like that. Tell you what…we’ll exchange contact info. I’ll hit you up tomorrow after work. Sound good?” “I understand that you have a lot on your plate, but there’s something you need to see. Stay put, please.” Geno said, reaching his hand into his right pocket, revealing the other half of the mysterious Digivice. It reacted to B’s presence. B’s eyes widened, pulling his half of the Digivice out of his left pocket. “How did you–where did you…h-huh?” B said, anxious and bewildered. As soon as he pulled it out, Geno knew what it was. He snatched it out of B’s hand as it reacted to his touch. “H-hey!” B said, flinching. Geno put them together. In a blinding light of green code, the two halves came together, forming a complete Digivice, now restored to perfect condition. “W-what?!” B shouted. “Oh my God! O-oh my Goooood! B! B B B!” Geno said, jumping joyously, tail wagging madly, grinning ear to ear. “Do you know what this means? This thing here? Do you know what it is? C’mon, take a wild guess!” Geno said, grinning, tail wagging, holding it out for B to observe. B examined it. A green and white device with a small screen on top, three buttons in the center, slightly bent near the bottom where a clip was attached, and several more buttons at the very bottom. The screen was on and glowed brightly, displaying 3D models of B and Geno, followed by text showing the name of the device. “It’s a Digivice iC….” B said softly and anxiously. “Yay! You got it! And you know what that means, right?” Geno said, bouncing around happily. “It means…it means I’m your tamer?” B said. “Oh, no! I think it’s much bigger than that. At least I hope it is. It’s what my wavelinks are telling me.” Geno said, smiling and shaking his head, waggling a finger. “Wait…are you saying you think we’re Digidestined?” “Yes! Let’s freaking gooooo! I’m so excited! Yahoo!” Geno said, pulling back, bouncing around, dancing, tail wagging nonstop. The potential reality of the situation hit B like a truck. “Um…what now?” He said, struggling to make eye contact. “Oh, my God! We have so much to do! I can’t contain myself! There’s a really nice house near the mountaintops around here. I’m going to buy it. I’m loaded! I’ll buy it just for us!” Geno said confidently, closing his eyes, pointing to his chest with his thumb, and grinning cheekily. While Geno was yapping away, B’s heart started racing, his mind overloaded. He took the Digivice from his hands and pointed it at him. “Return!” B said, a green code surrounds Geno. “What the heck are you…woooooaaah!” Geno was sucked into the Digivice, his face plastered on the screen, confused. “Hello? Helloooooo? Let me out of here!” He said, knocking on the screen. B muted the device with the push of a button, then set it down next to him. He sat on the log, his head in his hands, breathing heavily, his heart pounding, head sweating. He needed a moment. After giving himself time to sit in silence and ease himself, he felt he could better articulate his thoughts and assess the situation. “Phew…I needed that. Okay, so…I’m his tamer. I know it’s a good thing, but I don’t know if I want this. I just wanted a simple life. Everything is happening so fast. Okay…okay…positive thoughts, B. It’s not the end of the world. Try to be rational. Moving in with him? I mean…if I’m going to be logical about this and not let the nerves get the better of me, then I’d say this is a good deal. It beats that dingy apartment. As much of a goofass Geno is, he seems like a nice guy, and his heart seems to be in the right place. If we are Digidestined like he claims, then that means there has to be something truly special between us. Some kind of higher calling from the Digital World. Destined for great things. I just don’t know what it is. At the same time…I never asked for this. Why me? I thought the Digivice half was a shiny accessory. Nothing more. Now that I’m his tamer, I have no choice but to accept being Digidestined. Guess I have to brute force my way through this. Maybe with time…I’ll adjust. I dunno. God…this is crazy.” He thought, before looking down at the Digivice, seeing Geno jabbering away and knocking on the screen, more confused by the second. “Ah, shit… better let him out…at least I have this in case things get to be too much…” B raised the Digivice. “Geno! Realize!” He said, a green code is exiting the device, Geno materializing from it. B raised his hands defensively, leaned back, and sweated. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I was just so overwhelmed that I needed time to think. I know it was rude and uncalled for. Please forgive me!” “Hey…relax, okay? I’m not mad.” Geno said, leaned down, sighed, and wiped his brow before bouncing back up. “So…you’re not mad? I still feel bad…” “I get it. Your mind is blown by everything happening at once. That, and I know I overwhelmed you even more with how super excited I was. Just promise you’ll never do that again.” Geno said, pointing to him calmly. “Yes, I won’t. I promise. Just…promise not to surprise me like that again.” B said, nodding. Geno nodded and smiled. “Okay. I’ll keep that in mind. All good. I’m not used to being there. I like freedom. Now where were we–oh yes! Moving.” Geno said, grinning. “Want me to start packing?” B said, forcing a smile, a nervous wreck on the inside. “Yes! Let’s exchange contact info like you said so we can keep in touch. I have to fly back out to my parents’ place back in New York City and pack up. I’m going to make sure I purchase the house before I leave. I’ll make sure you’re sent a key as soon as I buy it. I’ll keep you posted.” Geno said, pulling out his phone. B and Geno exchanged contact info. Once finished, Geno approached B and shook hands. “I’m looking forward to our new life together.” “Uh…yeah…same here…” “Right on!” They shook hands before breaking away. “You’ve made my dreams come true, B. I finally got a tamer of my own. You don’t know how happy this makes me feel!” “Yeah, I can see that.” “Oh, come on. You’re going to love it, B. I can guarantee you that. Chin up. Smile for me!” Geno said, smiling, while B forcibly smiled back. They looked at each other for a moment before Geno turned and raised a hand to wave. “The move is next week. Sayonara, B! Until we meet again...” He said, smiling, before taking off in a hurry, tail wagging. “Adios, Geno. Take care.” B said, before looking at the moon one last time. “I guess dreams really do come true…God…I don’t know about this…” B looked at his trembling hands. He was so worked up from everything, he wasn’t sure he’d sleep a wink. Realizing that he shouldn’t dawdle, he should home and pack as soon as possible. It’s time to rest. There was much to do tomorrow. B took off in the same direction as Geno and made his way through the forest, drove through town, and was back at his apartment for the night. Right before he went into his apartment, a notification popped up. It was a digital ticket for a kickboxing match in Denver. B heaved a heavy sigh and shook his head. “I told him I wasn’t into sports. Ah…oh well…I guess I’ll go. Don’t want to be rude.” B thought, before popping his phone in his pocket before walking inside.
