Enough with the ad, let's go with the story
Sequel to Ephemeral Blizzard (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/64278831/)), the two Ninetales roam around the land with Freddie adjusting to her new life. With the lines between them blurring out, the former trainer and her partner set out to try and turn her back to normal.

While the two Alolan Ninetales slept, Freddie twitched around. Whimpers escaped, accompanied with small yips close behind. Her face blushed red. With her paws tapping, she had unknowingly lowered the temperature of the cave, freezing the pebbles around her. And the cause of all this? The sex that they had entered her dreams. This time though, Freddie was much more aggressive. His fangs flashed out as he licked against his muzzle. “So Freddie, ready to be mine?” “Hal! I’m still a guy!” “But you were begging for me so much last night…” His eyes glimmered red. “Don’t you want to get fucked? Have my children? Or what about that heat of yours? I can make it all go away.” “Bu…” Her voice softened. “You’re mine, sweetheart.” Biting down onto Freddie’s shoulders, he mounted on top of her. “That’s what you wanted, don’t you?” A shot of pleasure soon spiked as his knot popped within her. This time, however, she leaned backwards further, making sure that it went in as deep as possible. Her tongue released, panting like the bitch that she was. “Good girl, Freya.” That last word rang in her head. Echoing. But before she had time to react, cum soon gushed out of Hal and immediately fertilised her eggs. Dismounting off of her, he grinned widely. “So love, how do you feel about kits?” She panted, pleasure still high in her. Her stomach bloated up soon enough, causing her breasts to swell and lactate. “I can’t be pregnant!” She shouted, jolting the both of them awake. Her face reddened hard with Hal asking, “What did you say?” “Nothing… I… I just had a bad dream.” “You sure, Freddie?” He leaned closer with those familiar sets of eyes. A tint of guilt like he did something wrong. “Please if there’s anything wrong, just tell me, alright?” She gulped. After yesterday’s ritual, she just couldn’t look at him the same way. They were supposed to be like brothers. They grew up with each other’s backs against one another. She watched him evolve from the smallest cutest Vulpix to this reliable naggy Ninetales that saved her life and now… All strong and… “It's really nothing!” She said, crawling out of the cave. Her paws moved gracefully while she walked on all fours. “Let’s just go down now.” “Seriously, you can tell me anything.” The same was true for Hal. Feelings of his former trainer had grown past just mere partners. A blush tinted around his cheeks, recalling from yesterday’s event. “Is it because of yesterd-” “Let’s not talk about that!” She yanked her bag with her fangs biting down on the handle. Significantly lighter than before, she was grateful that it was still fine even as they descended from the rocky mountain. By this point, they could see the woods right above. Another day and they would make it to the base. The awkwardness between them was palpable. Freddie didn’t want to admit it but with her new body, she might be into Hal. It only made sense that the shy Hal had chances with the other girls. From how his muscles glimmered under the warm sun to how reliable he was, if he only had overcome his internal shyness, he would’ve been the perfect breeding stud. Freddie’s tag wagged faster. Why was she thinking about this? She was a guy. A human guy. Not some wild Pokemon th-that was into her partner like that! Even if her gender changed, Hal was still a Pokemon. A Pokemon that wasn’t supposed to mate with a human like her. Hal, who was a few steps ahead, couldn’t stop thinking about her as well. How she begged for him to have sex… Guilt and lust intertwined into one another. It was all his fault that she changed into this state and yet, he wanted more. Even when they were younger, Hal always thought that Freddie would capture other Pokemon. He had reconciled with that fact. Human trainers needed more than just one Pokemon for their journey. And with how adverse to combat, he was eventually going to be taken out. During nights as a Vulpix, Hal just bided his time. It was an unfortunate truth, he concluded. That he was just too weak to be part of his team. All he could do was try his best. To still stand by Freddie’s side. But when Freddie quit being a trainer and became a photographer, the Vulpix growled a little. In both shock and regret. That he had forsaken his career just for him. Of course, Freddie would tell him that he was never suited to being a trainer; yet the small pinch of guilt remained. Maybe it was because he was an only Pokemon, Hal stepped up to take care of Freddie. While his trainer might be an idiot, he wanted to aid him in any way possible. Like barking whenever Freddie forgot to bring his items or being his alarm clock for the day. He loved Freddie’s attention. Probably a bit too much than a Pokemon should. And when Freddie changed into a beauty… The lines blurred once more. The heat within them however was still simmering. And it simmered hot. So as the two Alolan Ninetales descended, both were immersed in their thoughts. Occasionally, they peeked at each other. Just a glance before retracting back. Didn’t want the other to notice after all. Finally, they arrived down at the base. Freddie released her bag and tugged to the side, panting. “Thought that would take ages…” “I mean, it's pretty dark out here.” Hal glanced over the waning sun. “We should probably set up camp.” “Rig…right…” Hal looked at her for a moment too long. “Freddie… I know it must be hard to adjust to this but…” She shook her head. “You did nothing wrong, Hal. Yesterday…” She whimpered a little. “Ok, even today, I still feel the ache. Still don’t understand where it was coming from but it’s real-” “It's probably the heat.” Glancing down at her breasts, she nodded along. Couldn’t believe she was going through a Pokemon’s mating cycle. Hal never complained about this problem though. He was always the same reliable guy. Even during the day care, he didn’t even lay a single lady there. Freddie’s face blushed up. “What’s wrong, Freddie?” “You remember that time I put you in the daycare? Where you didn’t breed at all?” He rolled his eyes. “Yeah? Was bummed that you didn’t bring me along on that trip.” “It's not my fault that Meemaw was allergic to fur. Plus, it was boring.” “Ok, nevermind. What about that day care?” “I just thought…” She glanced away. “You were gay.” Squinting closer, she spotted out a pair of yellow ears twitching. Foreign musks surrounded the air with her nostrils flared out. “Wait… What’s that in the corner?” Hal immediately stood in front of Freddie. Growling. “Wild Pokemon.” He sniffed the air. “Seems like a herd of them. Don’t worry, I’ll handle it.” For a moment, her heart skipped a beat. She used to be the one commanding him but now, hearing his firm voice, reassured her. Just seeing his back calmed her down slightly. Before her brain kicked in. “Wait, wait, wait, we aren’t fighting this. Let’s just talk to them.” She walked ahead of Freddie. “Maybe we could stay with them temporarily.” “What if they hurt you?” He blocked her off. “You just recovered and I th-” “Look, I told you there are Ninetales!” A Ninetales jumped out from one of the bushes. “Ooo, are you two shiny?” A Vaporeon rushed out of the bushes. “Max! I told you to- oh, hello there.” Hal pressed against the grass. He bared his fangs, snarling at them. Only for Freddle to step between the two Pokemon. “Hal! Calm down!” A little whimper escaped from Hal, stepping behind the vixen’s back. “Oh sorry about my partner. He is a little territorial…” The Vaporeon laughed it off. Her voice was richer with an accent at the back. “No worries. Max is just excited to see his kind.” The golden fur Ninetales now chimed in. “Oh my Arcesus, I can’t believe there’s other Ninetales than me.” His eyes lit up. “Especially with how white your fur is. Mine is just the regular golden fur. You guys got to tell me your secret.” For a second, an intense familiar scent overwhelmed Freddie. Her face blushed red. “Yeah…” “And you two are in he-Ow!” The Vaporeon slapped her companion’s head with her tail. “Alright, alright, jeez.” Hal finally spoke up. “I apologise for… My rudeness. Do you mind if we join you?” “Please join us! And you two are?” “My name’s Hal and she is…” “Freya.” Freddie spoke up. “My name is Freya.” Hal had a little shocked expression before standing between the Vaporeon and Freya now. “Right. Please lead the way.” Just before they entered, Freya still bit against her bag, dragging it even till now. Hal wanted to tell her to leave it but… She was a human and there were rations within the bag. Nevermind, he had other things to worry about. Like how they were entering into foreign territory. Entering into the woods, they were greeted with a crowd of Pokemons. All of them, feral, talking within themselves. They were all in the field egg group: Eevees and their various eevelutions, growlithes, poocheyna, vulpixes, houndours and all of their evovolutions as well. Freya had the urge to take this sight. Only if she didn’t have paws for hands now… “Welcome to the woods! Take a seat, you two!” She winked at Hal, immediately stirring something within Freya. Like a strange instinct to growl at her. She brushed it off as the Vaporeon announced, “Everyone! We have new members in our group! Welcome Freya and Hal!” She winked back. “I’ll be going to get some food now.” Immediately, a crowd surrounded them both. “Wait, what species are you?” “You look like a shiny ninetales? Why are you two so cold?” Hal tried to answer them while Freya was getting self conscious about herself. Oh god, she felt so small amongst the crowd before them. “Oh, we’re Ninetales. Alolan variation I think? That’s why we lo-” “What’s that thing behind you guys?” “That’s a ba-” “Ooo, you two smell nice.” Some of the smaller Pokemon sniffed against Freya’s white fur. Immediately, she tried to lean back but there was nowhere to go. It was hard being in the center of attention. Especially when her breasts were jiggling against each other. “What’s your name again?” “Why do you look so different from Max?” “Is there anything else weird about the two of you?” “Are you two dating? Cause I want to hit that pr-” “It's Hal. I think it's because we aren’t na-” This was getting out of hand with the crowd. There, one of the growlithes sniffed up Freya’s rear, immediately making Freya shriek. And that immediately broke Hal’s calm demeanor. He snarled with frost coming out of his maw. “Back the fuck off now. Everyone. Now.” Immediately, the crowd stepped back and scurried to where it was safe. Hal glanced back. “You alright, Fre-Freya?” “Ye-yeah…” Her fur was still standing on edge. “I’m go…good now.” There, he glared back at the crowd of other Pokemon. “To answer everyone’s questions, we’re not native here. We got lost here and are trying to go back to Aloha. Alright?” Chatter spread through the group with the Vaporeon rushing back and apologised profusely right after. “I'm so sorry, Hal. They aren’t usually like this.” “I can’t tell.” “Please, is there anything I could do to make it up to you?” She stepped closer with her eyes fluttering. “Just le-” “He’s fine now.” Freya spoke out, splitting the confrontation between her and Hal. “We just need to rest now, alright?” The Vaporeon nodded. “Right, I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Mary. The group leader here. Rest well, alright?” She stepped away, leaving the couple behind before scolding the rest of the group. Hal looked down at Freya. “You… You alright?” “Yeah… I’m fine now. Just a little on edge.” The couple soon ate their rations for dinner in a corner. Close enough to the herd but far enough to have no other Pokemon on them. They still had enough to last for another two weeks. A little realization pinched Hal’s conscience. A majority of the bag was just Pokemon food. Food used to primarily feed Hal — sometimes, Freya would use snacks to entice other Pokemon for photos. Stuff like clothes and other essentials were tucked neatly to the side. Sensing the shift in mood, Freya leaned closer to the fox. And on instinct, she licked against his cheeks. “Freddie!” She shook her head, trying to explain herself. “Err… You looked kinda sad and you used to lick against me and so I thought-" “Thanks Fre-” “It's Freya now.” He widened his eyes. “It's just the two of us now. You don-” Her paws tapped on the ground. “It’s just weird for you to keep calling me Freddie when I’m in this form…” Her eyes glanced at the sky. “Maybe when I turn back, you can call me Freddie. But for now, just call me Freya.” “Ok Frey.” “Already acting all cheeky on me?” She gently pounced on him. With her paws pressing against his chest, she raised her eyebrows. Her cheeks brightened with her eyes glancing at his growing boner. He shook his head, averting eye contact. “I… I’m sorry. You’re ju-” “No,no… that’s on me.” She got down and soon the awkwardness remained. With both Ninetales sleeping separately, their minds were surrounded in awkward thoughts about each other. Once again asking themselves what relationship they were in. The next few days, Mary had agreed to accept them into the crowd. After all, it was along the way of their migration path. All they had to do was help out with some of the tasks like collecting food or wood for the campfire. The duo agreed — Hal was relatively excited to hunt for food and to return back to some normalcy while Freya was a little more reserved. Getting sniffed at her rear gave her quite the shock. And as a woman, she couldn’t help but feel more vulnerable now. That being said, what other plan did she have? Also every single time Mary fluttered her eyes at Hal, unease settled on the bottom of her heart. She recognised this feeling before. Emerald green jealousy. Her body acted on it, trying to interrupt their conversations or trying to derail Mary’s provocative attempts. Yet, she also knew this was wrong. If Hal was interested in her… Actually, why was she even jealous? She wasn’t Hal’s girlfriend nor mate. She might have had dreams but she was his former trainer. Plus, this was a good thing. It's been ages since Hal had chatted up with anyone from the opposite sex… And if he’s happy, what right did she have to deny it? The same couldn’t be said for Hal. On their second last day with them, they had to pair up to collect berries. They had small conversations here and there but nothing concrete. And they were still in heat. Their pheromones still leaked out in the open. So instead of pairing up, they both decided to split themselves up. Max, the Kanto Ninetales, was more than happy to pair up with Freya. “Awww, you really do look like snow with your fur.” “You think so?” Her heart thumped, walking in the woods. Although the weather was turning to fall, Freya was still feeling slightly warm. From top to bottom. Maybe it was the heat but she couldn’t possibly beg for sex with Hal, could she now? Max stepped forward, glancing back at her. “Yeah, you really are beautiful. More so than Mary of course.” “Mary…? Isn’t she beautiful?” “Not as sexy as you are. Seriously, if it wasn’t for that Ninetales, I would’ve already asked you out. Hell, all the other guys wanted a slice of that cake.” She blushed hard. “Let’s just collect some berries, alright?” “Sure. Sure.” He nodded, only for him to scream as Hal pounced on him. Careful, not to leave any marks, the Alolan Ninetales glanced back at Freya. “You alright? Did he do anything to you? Are you sa-” Max blew wisps of embers, singing the ice type Pokemon’s paws. As he jolted back, Max growled back. “Ah, what the hell was that for?” “Sorry, I thought y-” “The hell? If you want a fi-” His ears twitched, scanning the region. Freya instinctively got behind Hal, whispering for Hal to stop this. Shaking his fur, the Ninetales calmed himself down. “You know I think there’s a misunderstanding between us. I was just a little flirty around her, that’s all.” Hal snarled, “Stop that then! I thought you were going to hurt her!” “Pfft, I would never! Right, Freya?” Glancing back at Freya, the smaller Ninetales nodded. His paw covered against his head in shame. “So-sorry about this then. I mean, I was watching from afar and saw Freya’s embarrassed expression. Should have known you wouldn’t hurt her.” “All good Hal. She really is quite the looker. Where did you find her?” “Well, she’s my childhood fri-friend I guess. And we lived together for qu-” The fiery Ninetales leaned against Hal, whispering into his ear. “Any chance I could ge-” “Of course not!” Blushed completely red, Hal snarled back. Fuck… He shouldn’t say that. He wasn’t her Dad. She was just his trainer. A trainer that turned into this unfortunate state because of him. He snickered. “Just messin with ya! Seriously, you should look at yourself, you’re so re-oh?” Freya nudged against Hal. Even with her enhanced hearing, she couldn’t hear a word between the two men. “Yeah, Hal, what did Max say?” “Oh basically asking him if you would be int-” Hal’s paw immediately covered his muzzle with Max’s eyes darting at his embarrassed expression. “Hal! Let him speak!” No. This was too embarrassing even for him to say out loud. If he wanted to say his feelings out, he would do it himself. Not through Max’s oblivious words. Gagging a bit, Max got out of the chokehold. Ah, it was like looking through the mirror, back to his younger days. Those romantic days. He giggled. Maybe it was time to test the other side as well. “I was asking him where Mary was.” “Mary? Oh right, you were her partner, weren’t you Hal?” Freya said with Hal nodding. “Yeah, I mean I thought they were close. Maybe some sparks could fly between them if you catch my drift,” Max answered with a sly grin. A pout naturally surfaced up for mere moments before Freya suppressed it down. Bingo. This was all but confirmation of this. Hal was still recovering from the embarrassment while Freya’s tail wagged slower. A little irritated at the situation. “Alright yeah, I’ll go find her now. Good luck!” Max darted through the woods, leaving both Alolan Ninetales awkward between one another. Their eyes locked for a moment. A small moment of doubts that seeped into their hearts. Fuck… What should they say here? What could they say? These darn feelings were choking up their throats indirectly. Still, Freya swallowed it down. “We shou-should really be collecting the berries, shouldn’t we?” “Ah right!” Hal jolted up. His usual sharp gaze now softened into a blurry daze. Damn, what was wrong with him…? They were just friends. Partners but nothing more than that. Right? Wandering through the forest, Hal’s own thoughts likewise wandered back to that night. When she was begging for sex… To mate with him… Her smell. Her expression that time in the darkness. And that soft voice… Hal blushed brighter as his tail wagged faster. Fucking Max… Freya, who had some distance away from Hal, recognised these feelings. Envy. Actual envy whenever Hal separated from her. This… This shouldn’t have happened but… She kinda liked it. Frosty air escaped out of her maw when she grabbed up the berries into baskets. Whatever. This was all temporary. Somehow with some help, or with some spirit, she could change back to becoming a human. Yeah, yeah, and all of this will go back to being normal. No more awkward nights with Hal. Just a trainer with his trusty Pokemon. Yeah, these feelings weren’t ever going to last that long. When night fell, Hal still tried to maintain distance with Freya but she wasn’t letting him. “Fr-Freya, what are you doing?” She licked her own maw. Her thick blush and her gaze resembled the one at that night. “I… I need some help down there.” “It…I…” Her tail raised up and revealed her pussy. “Please… Just one more night… I….” The male Ninetales gulped. If she was this needy towards him now… He might not control himself and just really do the full thing… Sinking down to her breasts, he acted on his instincts and licked against her breasts. Softer moans escaped. Her back arched upwards from immense euphoria. Her mind might have accepted that she’s a woman now but being licked around her nipples was another story altogether. Hal’s assault extended downward. His dick, fully erected, was twitching with the pressure building up. The Ninetales refused however. Not now. If he really acted on his urges, Freya would have been thoroughly knotted tonight. His tongue stretched deep into her wet pussy. Trying to cover every inch, his tongue was rubbing against her feminine folds and stayed there. Longer now. Although it wasn’t the real thing, Freya was still twitching from the pleasure. Really good to have that ache be responded to. It wouldn’t take long for her to squirt out fluids in front of Hal, experiencing another orgasm. Subsequently, she howled to the moon before blushing brighter red at her actions. As Hal pulled out his tongue, the pressure was killing him. Freya’s vision blurred, watching Hal’s bright red face disappear into the darkness, laying flat on the ground as she gasped for air. Meanwhile, her partner humped against the trees, his mind still picturing her. Fuck… he just couldn’t stop thinking about her face. And it didn’t take long before he ejaculated on the tree. White cum splashing against the bark in his horny state. He… really was disgusting… Waking up the next day, the two Ninetales departed from the crowd. It was a quiet departure unlike their arrival. Hal still carried Freya’s bag with his teeth while Freya brushed off the previous night’s events like nothing had happened. “So today we’ll be going to the village. Hopefully, my phone will have enough battery to talk to people and I… I will try to change back.” That thought sent a shiver down Hal’s spine. Change back into a human? His eyes teared up, remembering the dead corpse that was Freddie’s body. Was she going to be fine? “What’s wrong, Hal?” “Is there a need to change back?” “Obviously.” She rolled her eyes. “Can’t have us two be Ninetales in the city, can we?” “But… we don-” His words were interrupted by her gasp. Gasp at how big the buildings were compared to her feral size. Scents overwhelmed her immediately with food stalls and flower booths right in front of them. It was a bustling city with people all around them. “Alright, where to go first?” Freya didn’t reply with words. Instead, she gave a cheeky wink before dashing onto the stone pavements. Hal immediately kept pace with the faster Ninetales as she took a sharp left. There, a tall building stood before them: The Pokemon Centre. Hal halted immediately. “Freya, we don’t have to go here. I’m fine. Ma-” “Oh, I just wanna talk to the nurses, Hal. They would understand me, right?” Hal sighed, walking into the Centre. He never liked this place. Especially when he was younger with all those wounds. Always had that pinch of defeat, stapled onto his memories. Plus, being stuck in a Pokeball was never fun. Freya, meanwhile, always enjoyed being by the centre. The nurses were always tending to her various wounds (incurred from tripping or falling during their photography events). Now inside the Centre, she noted how the others were glancing back at her. Vulnerable. That was the word that washed against her fur. She felt vulnerable. Even with the other younger trainers, she was small. Hell, they were in different generations and yet, she felt like a child once more. Most of the other trainers glanced around the scene, trying to search for both Ninetales’ trainers. But nobody followed behind them. Once that mystery was left hanging in the air, some of the trainers loosened up, taking this opportunity to pet her but Hal snarled them away. His fangs glimmered under the fluorescent lights. “Hal! They don’t mean harm!” She barked back. Arcesus, why was he always this overprotective? “Easy for you to say! Need I remind you that you’re still feral?” “Feral?” She raised her eyebrows. “Look, just calm down, Hal!” Between the two Ninetales conversations, the other trainers started to take photos of their bickering. Some of them joked that they were the perfect couple. Eventually, one of the nurses came out and disrupted the crowd. “Alright, alright, that’s enough out of you people.” Freya immediately leaned against the counter. Her shorter legs stretched out, barely reaching against the red counter; her own hind paws shivered and barely held her in balance. Strain now placed against her joints. Gah! She just had to act human enough. Bipedal. Talk like a human. And ask for help. Though the answer was clear, Freya just resented how difficult it was to even stand up. Her tails wagged on but her whole body shivered. To the point where Hal had to step in and lean against her. “Freya! You’re gonna hurt yourself if you don’t get down now!” “I…I don’t want to! This is my chance, Hal!” She argued. Now the stares were more humiliating. Gossips of how this Ninetales was trying so hard to stand on two spread like wildfire. The nurse calmly just approached Freya. “Alright, Ninetales. Is there any problem?” The nurse swiped against her forepaws on the counter and gently lifted her to the ground. “Are you in pain?” She nodded her head. Opening her maw, she tried her best to speak like usual. Maybe she had to change a few syllabus to emphasise on certain syllabus but nevertheless, she said, “Please help me! I’ve turned into a Pokemon. I… I need your help to reverse this curse of mine!” Unfortunately, that was only what Pokemon could hear. For the nurse, she merely scratched her head, hearing the Ninetales frantically repeat its name. “Nin-Ninetales! Ninetales! Ni…Ninetales!” Mixed in a couple yips and groans for her panicked expression. Was it her trainer that needed help? But… She wasn’t pointing outside, nor was she trying to gesture that someone needed help. “Freya, she couldn’t understand you.” “Wh-No I just need t-” “Its the same thing with me and you, wasn’t it? You couldn’t understand me before the changes.” Freya gulped. It made sense. But, she just wanted to hope. A dream to turn back. To become the guy known as Freddie. The photographer. Just running around regions and taking photos for contests and clients. Just… Just trying to be together with Hal like the duo that they were. What could she do now as a Pokemon? Nothing at all. “There, there. I’m sure we’ll fix you up!” A sudden lift from the nurse caused Freya to panic. She struggled within her palms, seeing everyone having their eyes on her. What now? Her hands ruffled against her fur, trying to find a mark. Strange. This Ninetales didn’t have a simple red dot. Like she was actually a wild one that didn’t have an owner at all. Meanwhile, she spotted the same red dot on the Male one. It was peculiar indeed to see a wild Pokemon run into the city like that. Putting her on the counter, Freya’s balance recovered. The nurse faced her computer, typing against the monitor. “Ah, it seems like you’re a wild Pokemon, aren’t you? Well, I’m sure you’ll have many trainers willing to take you in. After all, its not everyday you’ll see an Alolan Ninetal-” Wild Pokemon? Trainers taking her in? The implications weren’t especially clear for Freya even now. All her thoughts were dedicated to thinking that she was turning back. That she had to find some way to change back that she wasn’t even thinking about permanently being a Pokemon. And the first Pokeball was thrown. Her vision blacked out before finding herself in a smaller field environment. Cramped shut inside a plains with a small lake. Sealed in by artificial walls, colored sky blue in a spherical dome. Everything was uncanny. The grass, the water and even the air just felt artificial. Man-made to replicate the plains. Where was this place? Where was Hal? Her heart thumped against her chest. Beating louder and louder. She was at the Pokemon Centre. The environment shook once. Her eyes flickered to the side. Slamming against the edge of its wall. She had to get out. She didn’t want to be trapped here. It shook once more. She slammed again. No. No. She couldn’t be here. Where the hell was this place? What was going to happen to Hal? She used her entire body weight and slammed against it. A bright light blinded her momentarily, finding herself back on the counter with a busted Pokeball. Her eyes blinked at the scene of Hal growling and snarling at them. He leaned forward and showed off his fangs. Ready to bite anyone that got close to her. Her adrenaline was through the roof. No way… She was going to be captured by some trainer. By some… person that she didn’t even know. Trapped to be theirs and forced to listen to them… Her body moved on its own. Dodging against the Pokeballs, she sprinted between the trainers’ legs. Most of them were joking at how new she was. At how vulnerable and weak. As a wild Pokemon, she should’ve known better than to waltz into the Centre. Hal followed up to her trail. Her scent, now engraved against his nose, was scattered. Panicked. Full of fear. He should’ve known this was going to happen. He should’ve protected her instead of letting her get taken by the nurse. Panting, he leaned against one of the buildings. Damn, her words stabbed deeper than expected. Freya meanwhile just fled into the forest. No, no, no. The facts were blindingly clear. She wasn’t human. A mere Pokemon now. Weak. Vulnerable. And worst of all, easily captured. Once the adrenaline wore off, her little tears streamed down. Now what? Her muscles ached as she panted. Even just running like that was enough to tire her out. She leaned against one of the trees. She never asked for this. Changing her genders and species to be this? Seriously? What was her plan now? Go back in and try to change back? There were fortune tellers, weren’t there? Or some psychic people that could understand her? Wasn’t this the answer? Just taking risks to keep exploring cities to turn back ful- A sudden rustle in the bushes made her flinch. If it was an actual trainer, chasing after her… She was gone. Captured against her will. A pair of familiar ears popped up with his steps crushing against the leaves. Dropping her bag, Hal sighed. “Freya, are you alright?” She wiped her tears off. “Oh of course. I’m fine. We… We just have to go back there. I’ll admit it was pretty scary to be captured but… I have to turn back somehow, right Hal?” “Freya, please.” “Please what?” Her voice was still breathless. “Don’t you w-want things to go back to normal? I’ll buy you more snacks once we’re done with this.” The male Ninetales could only nod. She wasn’t wrong. He missed the old days too with her being as his trainer. Unreliable, yes, but the best partner he could ever ask for. “Alright, let’s head back then.” Heading back to one of the entrances, it was complete silence. Hal didn’t know what to say to fix this. Couldn’t say his worries for fear of her despairing over it. While Freya’s fear paralysed her. Just gotta stay safe and she will be fine. Suddenly, a gust of icy wind brushed against their fur from above. Blue feathers dropped from the sky, prompting them to look up. Articuno. The one who made her like this. “Just checking in on your little crusade, young one. How is it so far?” She said, before landing onto the ground. Her size was bigger than both of them combined. The air around them had dropped lower “Well… it's alright?” “You! You changed me into this? How dare you!” Freya glared at the legendary. “I never asked for this! Never wanted to be in this form and you had to cur-” “Ah, that’s where the fun is at.” She winked back at Hal. “Well no worries, I’ll tell you how to change back.” Her eyes and ears perked up. “Really? I can change back?” “Yes of course. Just find a psychic type and extract my orb from within. If you do, you can reverse back to your original form!” Freya nodded along. “See, I was right, Hal!” But the male was a bit more shaken up. “Original form like his original human form before he was turned?” “Indeed!” Her voice softened with mist escaping from her beak. “Like the dead corpse that you were supposed to be.” The bird roared with laughter, flying up to the skies once more. “See ya!” Freya’s body trembled. No… So she was stuck like this forever. Her eyes blinked repeatedly. This couldn’t be true. She… She wasn’t supposed to be a Ninetales. Her fur stood on edge. What now? What could she do? “Freya… I’m so sorry. I… I…” Guilt pierced through his heart. Watching his former trainer now in utter despair was a bullet to his conscience. Her eyes weren’t even crying tears out; they were hollow. Completely blank eyes. The female Ninetales curled. Her fur, the only nice thing about herself, brushed against her paws. “So now what?” “I don’t know. But I’m sure we can wo-” “Instead of being successful, I’m now a weak vulnerable Pokemon. Can’t even fight others and always have to rely on you, Hal. Honestly, might as well let me die.” A resigned chuckle escaped. Hal immediately stomped on the floor, crouching to meet her on eye level. “No. Never.” “Then what’s the point of this? I’m just fucking a bu-” “Freya, just listen to me.” His words slowed down and became shakier. “That day when I saw you dead, was the worst day of my life. You left me there. It broke my heart how you didn’t want me there.” Freya sighed. “I’m sorry, alright. But I can’t let you be chained down to me.” “Why?” “Well cause you should leave me, right? What are you gonna do? Circle around my corpse and never leave?” “No! I’ll do anything to save you. Anything at all.” He momentarily ducked down. Tears flooded his eyes. “I want to be with you, Freya. Till my last breath. And I know this isn’t ideal, but it's better than being dead there. So please don’t say such things. You being alive is my greatest wish.” Freya’s eyes widened at the sight of Hal crying. After evolving, he became more mature. More stoic in a sense. The tears that he shed as a vulpix were gone. Yet here he was crying about her death. “Hal… I apologise for saying it. But I….I really feel like just dying. What’s the point of being alive when I’m stuck like this?” Now it was her turn to cry. “We were supposed to be partners and all this time, I was thinking that everything will be fine once I turn back. But now… What’s left?” “Do you hate this body that much?” “Its just some things here and there like not having thumbs but the main problem is… We can’t be in the city anymore. No healthcare to heal us, no free access to food for us to eat and no place to stay. We’ll just be wild Pokemons. Not to mention the risk of me being captured, it’s… Stressful.” Hal just licked against her tears. “Then we’ll be fine.” “What? What about all the problems that I listed?” He shrugged. “We’ll fix them somehow. One step at a time.” “Yeah but I’m not even useful no-” Hal circled around her. “It doesn’t matter. You being here for me is enough. We survived worse with just the two of us.” “I was human back then, you know.” She rolled her eyes. “Still, this doesn’t mean I’m happy with this body.” “I know. But would you rather die?” “No…” Hal nodded. “See. So let’s just make the best out of it. We don’t need some stupid city when we have each other.” “I guess…” She sighed. “You know, you don’t have to do this much for me, right? I might be your former trainer but you don’t have to do all of this.” “All of what?” “You know what, I’ve been curious about this for a very long time.” She paused, staring directly into his eyes. “What are we now?”
