"Argh, where are they?!" Aleath's angry voice echoed over the small lake as he punched a near tree. The sound of his paw hitting the hard tree followed by a small curse was then heard. The otter rubbed his sore paw, thinking he shouldn't have hit the tree that hard.

Two weeks passed since the two dogs took Foxx away. Aleath and Kethean traveled tirelessly since then, stopping only eat and rest. When they reached a town or village, they would always ask whoever they found for information, but no one knew about the dogs; the ones that did know were too afraid to talk.

All but a kangaroo. In an inn they found to spend the night, the marsupial heard them asking if someone had seen the white wolf and black husky and said he knew the two. After paying him a few drinks, he finally decided to tell them that the two canines were the king's pet magicians. He also told them that there was a rumor that the two sometimes kidnapped furs they found to do some of their work; some were even used for their personal needs.

The first statement made both Aleath and Kethean blink in surprise and make different questions at the same time. After they had a few answers, the kangaroo kept telling them what he knew. Apparently, near the capital was a tall tower near the castle, where the dogs lived with their prisoners...

"Calm down, Aleath..." Kethean said, looking at the otter and setting his weapon down on the soft grass. The otter snapped back to reality and rolled his eyes, turning to the dragon.

"Calm down? How do you expect me to do that?" he replied, sitting on the floor suddenly with his legs and arms crossed, his tail moving impatiently behind him. "Two weeks! We're trying to catch those..." he hesitated a bit then figured he didn't give a damn about his language right now.

"... those bastards for two weeks already! We don't even know how Foxx is! They're probably using him to get relived!!" he added, now shouting and feeling disgusted by the thoughts of that. He got up and started pacing around in small circles, letting out a few low growls. The dragon didn't reply, instead looking at the lake's calm water and thinking...

"Aleath... I'm sorry..." he said, some minutes later. The otter blinked and stopped, looking at Kethean, his eyes wide open. Two things surprised him: the fact that Kethean was sorry was one of them but the other was even more surprising. The dragon's voice wasn't his usual voice, with the somewhat mysterious and deep tone. It was a low and soft voice, a voice that Aleath sincerely didn't think he would hear coming from Kethean's mouth.

"S-sorry... for what...?" he asked with a hesitating voice. The dragon turned his scaled head to look at the otter.

"I'm sorry for telling you to calm down... you must be very anxious..." he trailed off, not sure of what he should say next. He didn't want to regret it later.

"O-oh... it... its ok..." Aleath replied, rubbing his furred arms bashfully. "I... I should be the one who's sorry. You want to get them as much as I do... and you don't act like I do..."

Kethean chuckled lightly, some of his normal tone of voice returning. He got his dual bladed weapon and looked into Aleath's eyes.

"Well, it's ok. I was like you when I started my journey after those two." he said, walking over to the otter and putting his hand on the furred shoulder gently. Aleath blushed and looked away.

"Ok..." he mumbled, and rubbed the back of his head lightly. Kethean smiled and made Aleath turn around.

"Ok then, let's go. According to the map, we're still very far from the capital. We might get there in a week or a week and a half if don't waste a lot of time."

The otter nodded and a sighed heavily. 'One more week until I'm with Foxx again. I hope nothing too bad happens...' the otter thought. He didn't even want to think about the time they would take to find his little brother once they finally reached the capital.

"Yeah. Let's go." he said. The dragon's smile got a little wider and the two started walking through the trees.

"We'll find him soon, you'll see..."

========== ~~~~~~~~~~ ==========

The young fox looked around when he heard something outside the small and pitch black room he was in. His breathing got faster and his arms wrapped tighter around his knees. He didn't know how many days, weeks or even months passed since he was forced into the windowless, pitch black and horribly silent room.

He remembered that during the first day ('or days', he thought), he desperately tried to find a way out, shouting and crying, begging to get out each time he heard someone on the other side of the door. After hours and hours of incessant noise, someone opened the door and grabbed Foxx by the scruff of the neck when he tried to run out of the room. He yelped and fought against his captor, only to let out another loud yelp as his body was slammed against one the cold walls of the room.

After that, his memory was somewhat foggy. He remembered sharp pains all over his body and loud growls, ordering him to shut up, saying that he needed to be trained and that he would be punished like that each time he did that much noise. After some time he woke up on the floor, whimpering with every small movement of his muscles and thinking he probably passed out during the punishment. Since then, he stopped doing a sound. The only

exceptions were when he tried to beg the wolf to get out for a while or leave the small

window on the door open so he could get some light and when the husky would drag him to his room and have his way with him.

The wolf wasn't as mean. Sometimes, Foxx heard the two canines screaming at each other, saying things like 'you're being too rough, if you keep that up you'll kill him!' and 'shut up, he's just a toy!'. Maybe it was only his imagination; he heard all kinds of things. He started getting scared of being in the dark room, waking up during the night, keeping his scared screams to himself. Each time he couldn't keep a scream in, the husky would punish him.

The sound of a key turning in the keyhole made his ears twitch and his mind snap back to reality. A thin beam of light penetrated the room, hitting the corner where Foxx was sitting. His fur wasn't like before, soft and almost shining. It was matted and a bit dirty, with the husky's cum here and there, gluing his fur.

The sudden light that hit his now sensitive eyes made him whimper and use his paws to protect them.

"Here's your food." the wolf's voice said without expression, but Foxx already knew he had food; he heard the metal plate and cup of water being set on the floor before his eyes got used to the light. He got up and rushed near, looking up at the wolf through the small window on the door.

"P-please don't close the window..." he begged in a low and scared voice. The wolf grunted something then looked back at him for some seconds. He then sighed and spoke, apparently not caring if the vulpine started being scared of the quiet and dark room.

"Y'know I can't do that, kit. You can get the door open if I do." he explained, probably for the hundredth time. Foxx lowered his head and wrapped his arms around himself, thinking of something he could use to get a little light. He saw a bit of the light turning to darkness then he jumped and held the small door that closed the window.

"No, please, don't!" he begged, wondering if he would regret that. The wolf looked into his eyes coldly then walked to a small table some feet away. Foxx tried to see what he was getting but the wolf was with his back turned to him, muttering something. The vulpine's ears folded against his head when he thought if the wolf was getting a whip or something worse.

"Kit." the wolf called when he got near the door again and opened it a bit.

"Y-yes...?" he asked nervously. The wolf walked in and showed him something that looked like a candle. But there was something different about it. The wax wasn't melting at all. The fox tilted his head and looked at the wolf, then at the flame that moved like it was licking the air around it.

"Here, take it." the wolf replied, putting the candle in Foxx's hesitating paws. "This candle won't melt and the flame will never go out." he explained, also giving Foxx a small, dome like object. It had a black color. "If you want to stay in the dark for a while or my brother comes here, use this to cover the candle; my brother would probably punish you if he finds out."

Foxx looked at the things in his paws then looked up at the wolf, a few tears forming in his eyes.

"T-thank you..." he said in a low voice. He was relieved, thinking that he could sleep a bit better now. He was scared of the noises of the night, and tried not to sleep. Because of that, he passed out frequently and had nightmares.

The wolf let out a small chuckle and turned to leave. Just before he closed the door, he glanced at the fox one more time.

"Eat then get some sleep... you're getting too thin... I'll try to get more for you to eat..." he said in a low voice. Foxx furrowed his brow. Did he also notice a tone of worry and maybe shyness when the lupine said that?

The sound of the door closing and the key turning to lock it made Foxx blink then smile softly in a long time. He sat on the floor and kept the magic candle near, starting to eat the bread and cheese in the metal plate, and thinking that maybe the wolf wasn't as bad as he looked, if Aleath was ok and how long would he take to save him.
