A Proper Fusion, Chapter 2: Finding Limits
Part two of this series, and we see that Kal is perhaps getting a little too fond of the party times, and Kajiit is getting too worried about giving in to his other half's control.

A Proper Fusion Chapter 2: Finding Limits For Kajiit By Draconicon
Kal sighed in the depths of the bobcat's head.
"I'm boooooooored."
Well, you'll have to deal with that for a while longer. This is important.
"You say that about everything, though."
The Crux grumbled to himself, metaphorically pacing around his host's skull. It wasn't so much a physical thing, as that would be somewhat impossible even for the Crux. But it felt like it, as he walked among the different thoughts that floated on the surface of Kajiit's mind, almost like flowers sticking out of the surface of a small, buzzing planet.
_A hundred credits to that debtor, buying a week of time...
...fuel for that journey, gets a favor...
...Jonathan is gonna kill...
"You're getting stressed again. How about we have another par -"
No, no, no. We lost too much time the last time that you did that. Until we have some money back, I'm not letting you out again.
"But -"
It was like a giant hand shoving down on the back of his neck, shoving his face right into the dirt. Kal grunted from the psychic impact, glaring into the blackness that was his 'home' inside of the bobcat.
I said, no!
"...Fine."
The hand slowly lifted off of him, letting him pull back into the depths of the blackness. The Crux shook his head a few times, letting out a small sigh as those bursts of thoughts continued.
He could only get so much entertainment out of them, though. They were the least interesting things he'd seen in any host, and that was saying something when he'd needed to ride along with a turtle for a few years. At least the turtle had let him be the one in charge, taking them interesting places, dealing with things other than dry, crusty numbers...
That he barely understood.
Kal sat back in the darkness of the bobcat's mind, his arms folded around his middle as he glared at the popcorn of thoughts going off. It was like watching a bunch of people talk to each other in a foreign language from how much he understood of the numbers. Everything moved too fast for him, moving from column to column in ways that Kajiit obviously understood, but Kal...
"Numbers make no sense..."
There wasn't a response from the bobcat, but then again, he didn't expect it. If he wasn't actively trying to take his turn being in charge, Kajiit was shutting him out. The bobcat had been reluctant to let him have any fun ever since that time in the alley. Even when the Crux reminded his host about how much fun it had been, Kajiit denied it, saying that there was no time for fun like that.
But there had to be, right? Kal might not understand the numbers, but he did know biology, and he could tell that his host was running himself ragged. The different nerves and streams of neurons that he rode when he took over were getting rougher and rougher, lacking the time they needed to relax and recharge.
"Are you ever gonna sleep?"
Are you going to leave my body alone if I do?
"You know, I jumped into your body hoping for more fun than this. I thought that you were a brave explorer, a cat that knew how to have fun. But you're just a nervous wreck, working with all this stuff. When are we going out again?!"
When we can afford it.
He folded his arms, shaking his head a few times. Kal honestly considered leaving the bobcat at times, and this was no exception. There were hundreds of people on this planet, so many that he might be able to possess, to use for some fun times. They'd work with him better than Kajiit did...
But if he did, then what would happen to the bobcat?
That was the sticking point for the Crux. Usually, when he left someone to slip into another body, he was doing it too fast to be concerned about what happened to the old host. He didn't know if it would hurt them, or if it would even weaken them in a way. With the way the bobcat had been fighting him for so long, he honestly didn't know what the consequences would be.
More to the point, he didn't want to leave Kajiit like this. The bobcat was a wreck, and even if him leaving would make things better for the feline - a fact that he highly doubted, considering the neurotic nature of the cat - it would leave him without someone to distract him, to give him fun.
Still...There was only so long that the bobcat could stay awake. Things would change, eventually.
Kajiit groaned as he worked over the different accounts he had, checking the various small paychecks that he'd been able to call in advance from different clients. It wasn't much, maybe another three thousand credits, but it would give him enough to pay rent on his apartment for another month, and maybe get a few little specimen containers for the trip Jonathan wanted him to go on.
If only Kal would be quiet, he thought he had a way of balancing it all out so that this could be a more profitable trip, but the Crux kept sighing like a perpetual child in the back of his head. It was annoying, to say the least, and it was getting worse by the day.
"Ugh...why can't you be quiet for just...two hours?"
I'm always quiet! I'm not talking, am I?
"No, but you're sighing and muttering and grumbling, and that's bad enough."
...You're not supposed to hear that.
"Yeah, well, I am."
No, I mean, that's seriously not supposed to happen. We're supposed to have separate space, and -
"I don't care. I...Look, I probably should, but I don't right now. Just...let me have some quiet time to fix this up, and then we'll talk about other stuff. Okay?"
...Okay.
Nodding, the bobcat got back to work, taking the calculator and seeing what debts he could erase while keeping enough money to make the project work out in the black. It wasn't much; there were a number of different favors that needed repaying, including some not-quite-legal traders that were out in the depths of space, but had given him some fuel on the promise of a payment later.
Those ones really needed to be paid. He might not need the service again, but they were more than capable of shooting his little ship out of the sky if he didn't keep on good terms with them.
But the others...
He sighed as he watched the credits disappear one by one in his accounts. Three thousand sounded like a lot, but when there were so many expenses, they disappeared all too fast.
Kajiit glanced towards the side of his desk, where a number of different bottles were stacked. He'd gone through quite a few stimulants over the past few days, using them to keep himself awake and aware ever since Kal had taken him over in the alley. He wasn't going to risk something like that again, not when they were so short on time.
Maybe one more...
He reached out for the bottle, hesitated, and pulled his hand back.
On second consideration, it wasn't the best idea. Forced energy was never as good as naturally restored energy, and he hadn't actually slept in some time. Mostly out of fear of waking up somewhere else, particularly in someone else's bed. He blushed as he remembered when Kal had walked them down to Gus' room, where they'd ended up having...quite a bit of fun, admittedly, though nothing of the sort that Kajiit would have done on his own.
So are you done -
Slamming his fists on the table, Kajiit sent at least four bottles rolling off the edge of the table, and some pens and pencils flying in the air. They clattered back down in a rush.
"You just said you'd be quiet. What's wrong with your memory? Seriously!"
But...but I was quiet. See? Look at the time.
Out of annoyance and the need to prove the Crux wrong more than anything else, the bobcat did...and stared at the clock.
"That's...that's impossible. I was just -"
You were staring at the weird symbols for a good two hours. I waited. I told you I would, and I did!
"Yes..."
He couldn't believe it, but the Crux was right. He'd been staring into space for who knew how long, and had done almost no work. All that time with the pills must have been messing with him more than he realized.
"Alright...bed time. I'll...I'll get more work done in the morning."
Good. You need it.
"And no taking my body. Okay?"
Yeah, yeah, I got it.
Kajiit slumped into the bed, flopping onto the mattress and letting his face dig into the pillow. The softness of the sheets and everything else quickly dragged him down to dreamland, and he sighed in deep relief.
#
"Finally, he's sleeping."
Kal didn't have any plans to break his word. The bobcat needed sleep more than anyone else he'd ever seen. The forced wakefulness had done a number on his thought process and on his productivity, leaving him completely frazzled.
However...
Kal slipped a little further over the bobcat's body, spreading his latex self along the bobcat's fur and through his limbs. It didn't take long to cover him with it like a second skin, setting the stage for later. He doubted that Kajiit would even notice it in his sleepy state, particularly now that he was already deep down in the best of sleep.
But in the morning...
It was a long night for the Crux, a long night during which he had to exercise something that he almost never used. Patience was almost too foreign to him, but being inside of Kajiit for this long had lent him something of it. He didn't understand it - and didn't particularly like it - but he could use it.
As soon as the sun poked through the window, he acted. With Kajiit still sleeping soundly, the Crux pulled the body upwards, slowly, but surely. It sat up, and then started getting to its feet. Every little step was taken slowly, almost like he was tiptoeing away from the bed with something that didn't belong to him.
But that was a silly idea. Kajiit belonged to him, just like he belonged to the cat.
It didn't take much effort to alter his body, sliding some of the material down to form a darker blue 'thong' around his crotch. As far as he understood the ideas of modesty in this place, he had to cover his naughty bits, but that was all. Everything else could be left alone.
He walked out the door and down the hallway. This early, when the sun was barely over the buildings, there wasn't anyone to stop him or talk to him, and Kal was fine with that, at least for the moment. He made his way down the stairs, and then out of the little lobby at the bottom to the street level.
"Okay, now where's someplace where he can relax..."
Kajiit didn't wake up until well past noon, but as soon as he did, he realized that things had gone off the rails.
KAL! Where the hell are we?!
"Mmmm, you like it? I had to look all over to find a club open twenty four hours a day."
But, how, what are we doing here?
The bobcat blushed as he realized that he - or rather, his body - was shaking its tail up on a stage, grinding his rump against one of the bigger poles that were sticking out of the ground. Were they at some sort of strip club? It almost felt like it, considering the way that everyone was staring up at him.
His cock felt so hard under the Crux skin, throbbing against the strange material keeping it pressed down at his crotch. He stared out over the different people that had assembled, unable to quite comprehend how this had happened.
A dozen credits suddenly flew through the air, landing at his feet. A few of them slid between his toes, and Kal suddenly lifted his foot up, picking the credits out and tucking them into the thong. Out of sight of the rest of the people, Kajiit could feel it sliding into the Crux's body, as if being held for safekeeping.
Are...are you making us work as a stripper?
"Heh, it's working, isn't it?"
Are...I can't believe I'm asking this, but are we making any money?
"Yep, if that's what those things are. Can't really count it all up, but it's gotta be a lot."
Kajiit just shook his head, or at least, metaphorically did so. It wasn't like he could do anything else besides that.
He watched the crowd around them, staring at the people throwing credits his way just for shaking his shiny ass. Lizards, wolves, other felines, all of them were staring at him and licking their lips at the show that they were getting. How they could think this was good...
Well...
He supposed that he could understand a bit. He blushed under Kal's body, feeling some of his own excitement rising as Kal turned them around, shaking their butt and swaying their tail.
"Hehehe, you guys like this? Who wants to get a little closer look?"
What?! You can't be serious!
But someone was already throwing a hundred credit chip onto the stage, followed by someone else throwing two. The money...
He swallowed his pride as a wolf and a lizard stepped up together, both of them grabbing at his ass. Even through the Crux's control, he could feel it, sense the eagerness in the two males that were touching him. His cock throbbed all the harder beneath that strange material, leaving him more confused than ever.
But it wasn't until the lizard leaned in and pulled his butt cheeks apart, tugging the thong out of the way, that Kajiit realized that things might be going too far.
Ka-oooooh!
The only consolation was that he was completely silent inside of the Crux's head, but the feeling of that long, slick tongue working over his ass - and in front of so many people, too - left him gasping and blushing. He would have gone up on tiptoe from the feeling of it, would have flaunted his rump all the more as that tongue worked over his rim and started pushing to try and enter. Completely confused, he would have been at an utter loss.
But Kal only let it go on for a few more seconds, even letting that forked tongue slip in for a moment, before sliding out of the way. Kajiit's head spun as the Crux laughed with the crowd.
"Ah ah ah. I said you could touch, not taste. That, everyone, might come later. For now, I'm getting a drink. Who wants to buy me one?"
Almost instantly, the hands of everyone in the bar went up, and a wolf took him over to the bar, calling for a beer for the Crux. As soon as it was in Kal's hands, he started chugging it, and Kajiit groaned as he was suddenly submerged in alcohol.
What...what are you...doing...
Keeping you quiet so that you don't start freaking out.
But...this is...I don't want...
You're liking it, aren't you?
But it's...wrong...
Kal slammed the bottle down on the counter, calling for another one. The bobcat, on the other hand, felt like the room was swimming already. He'd never had much of a head for alcohol, and this was no exception. He could feel himself getting tipsy already, his thoughts coming slower and less coherently.
As another bottle was pressed into the Crux's hands, it only got worse, as he was drenched under a waterfall of alcohol and inebriation. It was a lot faster than usual, and it didn't help that Kal hammered it down faster than anyone should have been able to do. Probably because it was all going to him.
It's not wrong. Nobody here is trying to stop you. And besides, it looks like a nice place.
Where...where are...we, anyway?
Not sure. It had a picture of a pink star on the outside, though; couldn't quite read the words.
A pink star? That sounded...
It took him almost a minute to find the name, as he felt like he was swimming through syrup to find it in his sloshed mind, but eventually the picture came clear to him. Kajiit groaned under his breath almost immediately, knowing exactly where they were.
It wasn't a pink star. It was a pink pucker. They were...they were at the Pink Pucker...one of the seedier places in town...and one where gay guys went to pick up easy whores.
No wonder no one had stopped them. They were just waiting to see how far Kal would take it.
Kal...we gotta - ugh...
A third beer...
Downing the third drink before the bobcat could make another complaint, the Crux looked around the bar for another bit of fun. So far, it had been amazing. All the eyes were on him, everyone seemed utterly infatuated with him, and it made him feel amazing.
After all, every Crux dreamed of being the subject of adoration and attention, and this was the best he'd ever gotten. It was still a far cry from his biggest fantasies, of putting on a show and getting everyone involved and interested, but it was better than having those webcam shows when the bobcat was asleep, or going down to put on some new thing for Gus and a friend.
No, this was real. This was live. And everyone wanted more.
Pushing the empty bottles away, Kal got back to his feet, swaying his hips as he walked through the cluster of people. He felt hands on him from every direction, some people starting to grope at his ass, while others were starting to push against his front. His cock started throbbing, pushing upwards against the thong that he'd made, and he was debating getting rid of it soon, if they wanted to see it.
"So, what do you think, boys? Should I get back on stage?"
"Heh, I think you should get on my lap instead, hon."
Kal laughed at the lizard's offer, giving him a playful tap on the cheek with his tail. There was another little murmur from the bobcat in the back of his head, but he ignored it. He was having too much fun being the center of attention.
"Nice try, boy, but I think I should be up there, for everyone to see -"
"Heh, was I saying that you had a choice?"
The lizard grabbed his tail, pulling him back. Kal blinked as he ended up on the big scaly's lap, forced to look up at him and feeling one hell of a bulge pressing under his tail. Normally, that sort of pressure actually felt pretty good, but...
The look on the lizard's face made things a little more difficult. He looked around at everyone else, seeing hands rubbing at crotches, and he realized that he might have bitten off more than he could chew.
"Um, well, now, I'm sure that we can work out something for everyone, here."
Chuckling, the lizard forced his thong down in the back, pushing it down to his thighs. Kal was completely out of his depth, barely understanding what was going on. This wasn't...this wasn't the sort of fun that he was used to. Everyone was still looking at him, and sex was definitely on the menu, but this wasn't what he had in mind!
"We're already working something out, slut. Maybe if you'd started letting us pay for something already, you might have gotten one of us. But now we're all worked up for you..."
"Pay?"
"Heh, don't try to get out of it now, whore."
Whore? Kajiit, what's he talking about?
There was no answer. The bobcat was too drunk to be able to say anything, and Kal was actually starting to sweat as people pulled in closer and closer to him. Their grips weren't so friendly anymore, and he could feel them digging into his hips, pulling his butt cheeks apart. A thick finger pressed right against his hole, forcing its way in with more force than he wanted.
"Hey -"
"Shut up, slut."
A wolf grabbed him by the muzzle, holding it shut.
"We got other plans for that..."
Over a dozen men were all around him, each one pushing at him with either a dick or a hand, groping him and fondling him. In any other situation, this would have been a dream. But the way they looked at him.
Kajiit?! Please, I need help! I don't know what to do!
But there was no help. He'd put the bobcat out, and he didn't have the power to wake him back up. Just like he didn't have the strength or power to break out of the grip of this many men. How was he going to -
"Hands up, this is a raid!"
One hand let go, but not before the hiss of gas filling the air caught his ears. Then he took a breath, and just like everyone else, went out like a light.
Kajiit felt like he had a hammer beating against his head when he woke up. Without even opening his eyes, he could already guess where he was; the light was too bright to be anywhere else.
"Mmph...who's there?"
His voice. Not quite his voice. Probably still in Kal's body, then? What in the world did the Crux do to get them taken to the police station?
The light angle changed, not quite so bright against his eyelids. He opened them, and immediately flinched back. Stars, that was bright.
Kal...what happened?
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I...I freaked out. I was having fun, and they were watching, and then they started groping and trying to do stuff and -
It's okay, Kal. It's gonna be okay. But I need to know what happened.
It...I think they were all gonna fuck me...and they didn't look like they were gonna do it nicely. Then people came in, shouting about a raid, and -
The bobcat groaned under his breath. A raid at the Pink Pucker. That meant that they probably thought that he was a prostitute, and he'd be getting busted for that if he wasn't careful. And if he was busted...
Well, he just had to avoid that. On the plus side, even though he had a headache, he felt better rested than he had for days. And maybe it was a side effect from Kal's time on stage, but he felt a little more confident, as well. Perhaps that was something he'd have to remember.
So...why am I still you?
I...
He felt Kal shaking his head.
I didn't want you to be in trouble. I thought, if it was me, and not you, then they'd at least not put your name down as the troublemaker.
If he'd been talking to another person, his jaw would have dropped at that statement. As it was, he couldn't believe it. The fact that Kal was actually showing some responsibility like that...It was amazing.
Before he could give his thanks, though, he heard the door open and shut. Someone was coming in, and that meant that they didn't have a lot of time. He had an idea, though, but he needed things to go smoothly.
Kal, it means a lot that you did what you did, but right now, I need you to do exactly what I say, without any arguments. I can get us out of this - I think - but you need to take this as seriously as I do. Do you understand?
Yes.
Good. Then don't talk. Let me talk, but don't do anything yourself. And...be ready to make a change.
This was either going to get him locked up forever, or it was going to give him his only shot at going free. But he had to play it carefully.
Kajiit opened his eyes slowly, pulling the Crux's body up to a seated position. It was rather interesting, to say the least. Moving in someone else's body was both easier and more difficult than usual. More difficult because it was differently shaped, making it move more awkwardly, and easier because he wasn't using his own muscles to do it. No wonder it felt so good for the Crux to be controlling him.
He looked up, taking in the doberman cop across from him. The big dog sat down, holding a few papers in hand, before speaking up.
"I'm Officer Trent, and I'm the one that's been assigned to your case."
"And...what is my case?"
"Playing dumb?"
"I wish I was playing anything; it would take my mind off of the hangover."
"Well, give us the information we need, and we can let you get some rest."
Information. Well, that was a plus. They didn't have enough for something open and shut, so he could get a little bargaining room. Maybe his strategy would even work.
The doberman placed a few of his papers down on the table, and Kajiit got a chance to see that they were photos rather than reports. Most of them were of Kal still on stage, shaking his ass, and even spreading the cheeks to show his hole, but a few of them showed him on a lizard's lap. One even had a finger rammed deep inside...while Kal looked utterly terrified.
Is that what happened before the gas?
Mmm-hmm...
I'm sorry about that, Kal. I'm really sorry.
I'm sorry for knocking you out. I just...I wanted to have fun, and thought you were just being stuffy.
We'll talk about it later. Let me get us out of this first.
"These pictures were taken by an undercover cop in the club. It's pretty clear that you were intending on doing more than just showing off, after you let some of the low-lifes there get a good taste of your ass on stage. The question is, was this your first time, or had you done this before?
"We got a bit of a betting pool going on, you see. Most of the other officers, they think that you've been doing this for a while. After all, looks like you were doing a hell of a dance on stage, and nobody gets that good on their first time. Me, though?"
The doberman tapped the picture with Kal's terrified face.
"I think that you were getting way over your head. Maybe you practiced all this at home, maybe you had a thought that you could earn some money the easy way. But when it came down to it, you didn't have the guts."
"So...what do you want to know, officer?"
"Where's the money?"
It took everything Kajiit had to not just break down in a grin. Of course. If they couldn't find the money, then there was no case against him. No money, no illegal prostitution, no unlicensed stripping. The most they could hit him with was indecent behavior, and that was something that any good lawyer would be able to get him out of.
And there was no way that they'd find the money...not where Kal had put it.
Kajiit forced the Crux's face to stay completely neutral, even as he heard Kal whimpering a bit in the back of his head.
"I'm afraid that I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't be coy. We can give you a deal, if you tell us where you stashed the money you were paid."
"Or, if there was any money, you would take it and then use it as evidence that I am a whore."
"You want the deal in writing?"
"I want to know what you actually have besides photographs of me about to get raped."
"You weren't -"
Kajiit shook his head. He knew how this worked. Much as it embarrassed him to admit it, he'd been down to the Pink Pucker once or twice, when he was really in need for some companionship - or when he was too drunk to care - and he'd seen the raids that went on down there.
"Your undercover cop didn't do anything to try and stop what was happening. You had a raid planned anyway; you didn't know that you were disrupting someone getting...getting attacked."
What are you doing?
I'm pushing them. It's part of the business. Someone offers you a bad deal, push them. Show them that you got leverage of your own. Wouldn't work with Jonathan, but with something like this...
So many different deals, so many less than civil agreements worked out, came to him, and he used everything he knew. Maybe he wouldn't have to shed his skin after all; the multiple personality argument had been his first thought, but if he could just make them see their own neglect...
The doberman shook his head, adjusting his collar. Good; he was getting uncomfortable.
"You can't say that you weren't doing something illegal in the club. We have pictures -"
"Of someone dancing? That's not a crime. And I don't see any money being thrown in any of those pictures. If you want to arrest me for that, then you should start arresting ladies that get drunk and show their breasts to people.
"And if you want to use this one -"
He tapped the one where he was getting a finger up his ass.
"Then you are arresting a victim."
"Are you saying that you were raped, then?"
"I'm saying that I was at least assaulted, and nobody did anything. How do you think that would play out?"
The wheels were turning in the officer's head, but the bobcat knew that he'd already won. The photographer hadn't gotten anything worthwhile, if these were all the photos that they had, and he doubted that the people in the club would speak up. Sure, they could say that he was a whore, but that would mean that they'd all be engaging in prostitution, something that they would all get charged for. And if the police pushed him, he had the leverage to say that they didn't step in, that they endangered a citizen.
Checkmate.
...How...How did you do that?
I learned how to handle people like this a while ago. If you don't take them seriously, then they won't take you seriously. And when that happens, you have no more power than a child. And in this world, you need power.
"Let...let me talk with my superiors."
"You do that."
Two hours and a cavity search later...
Kal slipped his body off of the bobcat's as they got back to the apartment, a number of credit chips falling to the ground in the process. Most were small, but some glowed a bit brighter and put off a little more energy, so he assumed that they were bigger ones, more valuable ones.
His host flopped on the bed, laying on his back. Kal looked out through the cat's eyes, seeing things in a less blue-tinted way.
"Kajiit...I'm sorry for not listening to you."
...It's okay.
"But...but I got us into so much trouble. I got you stuck in the police station, and got them shoving their hands inside of us."
Well, you being you, that made it easier. And...
The host's head moved, and Kal ended up looking at the cat's cock. It was standing up, throbbing hard now that the Crux's body wasn't in the way anymore.
Well, I can't say that we didn't enjoy having something up there.
"Heh...maybe not."
The two of them laid there silently. At first, the sight of the bobcat's cock made Kal think that there was some naughty potential for the night, but as the moments ticked by, he realized that he couldn't actually think of something he wanted to do. The events of the night were still too ingrained in his mind, too fresh.
The pair of them laid back again, and the Crux tried to think of something to say. Everything seemed to boil down to apologizing again, though, and he was pretty sure that the bobcat was sick of hearing that. But what else could he do, after making such a mess of things?
Kal?
"Yes?"
I think that we need to start figuring out how to make this work. You're right. I work way, way too much for my own good. Tonight...tonight, I felt like I was at my sharpest, like I was able to think and come up with plans faster than I ever did before. I got to recharge and actually be myself again.
"Even though I messed up?"
Even so. I think...I think I do need someone to just make me stop sometimes, to take control and make me do something better for myself, whether that's sleeping or doing something fun. I can't trust myself to do it, so...so it has to be someone else.
"But you're so smart. I couldn't understand half of what you did tonight, but the dog really did. And he still looked like you ran circles around him."
I'm smart with everything except myself. I need someone else to look after me there. And, I think you're the best one to do it. You might not get the idea of some of my work, but you know my body. You know the...physical stuff. You're a lot better at it than me, and I think that I can trust you.
"No...no you can't."
Kal shook his head, imagining himself pulling his legs up against his chest as he thought back to the night. Even now, he wanted to do out and do something else, feeling his boredom coming back. It would be so easy to leap after that, to forget about the lessons of the night and go have more fun. Hell, he wanted to do it so badly, but he held tight to the guilt. He couldn't afford to do that again.
Silence stretched out between them once more, going on and on until the bobcat grunted, pulling himself back off the bed. Kal watched as they walked back to the desk, curious.
Kajiit pulled out a datapad and started flicking through it. Though Kal couldn't read what was going on, he could see the pictures that gave more information. Something about a directory, and phones?
"Are you calling someone this late?"
No, just finding their number for tomorrow. It's getting to the point where I think we need help. Outside help.
"But...but what if they discover what we're like? I thought you were worried about someone figuring out -"
I think the time for worrying about that is long over. If we're going to actually have a life, and make things work, it's time for us to get some serious help. We're not going to figure it out on our own.
"...If you're sure -"
I am.
"Then let's do it. I want to do more than just party...and I want to try and understand what you do. Tonight was...really cool, how you handled all of that."
...Thank you. And you were...very responsible, in the way that you tried to protect me. Now, let's see if we can find a number, then get to bed, huh?
Kal couldn't agree more. For once, he was one exhausted Crux.
