#2 of Dragonscale University

Yay! DU is back with another chapter! Finals week is easy, so I have free time after the test to work on stories! And with Winter Break coming up, more chapters will be flushed out, and maybe a couple of short stories along the way. Thank you all for your never-ending support, and I hope you enjoy the future of my writing!

To say that Dragonscale University was a big place would be an understatement.

I was awoken in some sort of hangar, and the nipping cold with the giant, wide mouth of the cave showed that a freezing blizzard outside confirmed that I was inside a mountain. That, and the giant ass cavern with planes from bi-planes like the one I rode inside to giant zeppelins. Seriously. Two Zeppelins. I gawked at the size of the hangar as I stepped out of the bi-plane with Niklos' help.

The Russian dragon gave a hearty laugh and slapped me lightly on the back. "Impressive, eh comrade?" He grinned and grabbed my suitcase out from the plane, then handed it to me. He pointed to the back part of the cave where some sort of building was, almost an administrative office. A strand of my blonde hair fell in my face, and I decided to pull the flight cap and goggles off, then hand it to Nicklos. "Over there is where you check in, comrade. I hope you had good flight, ja?"

I gave a nervous smile and nodded. "Y-Yeah. T-Thank you." I took off the coat he lent me and gave it back to him, in return he smiled at me.

"Ne problema, comrade."

I rolled my suitcase behind me as I went over to the building. Inside was a lobby, which was thankfully warm, with a receptionist desk, and a pretty brown dragon was sitting behind the desk. She had amber underscales and dark green eyes, and bright pink hair, which kind of threw off her colors. She smiled brightly at me as I approached, the desk being rather tall - probably for dragons.

"Hi!" She said, her tone way too perky for my tone. "Are you a new student to Dragonscale University?"

I swallowed and said shyly. "Y-Yeah..."

"Name, please?"

"U-Uski. Uski Akiyama." I said, almost rehearsed.

She turned to her computer and clacked away on her keys for some time, still smiling. I stood awkwardly, shifting from one foot to the other. I was so glad I was wearing my shoes and the socks my mom gave me, otherwise my paws would be frozen. She turned back to me suddenly, making me jump slightly, and said, "Madame Whitefrost will visit with you shortly. She is your counselor, and probably the one you spoke with over the phone." The dragoness' tail pointed to a room off to the side. "You're welcome to the lobby's kitchen if you want to eat or drink anything while you wait."

Swallowing again, I picked up my suitcase and meandered over to the kitchen. The kitchen was more like a small dining hall, and had counters on the left and right sides, with a bay window at the end overlooking the mountain range. My jaw slightly dropped at the sight, my eyes focused on the way the sun's rays hit the white-capped peak.

"Beautiful sight, ain't it?"

I snapped my attention to the right, seeing a crimson dragon only half a foot taller than I, probably six foot two. He wasn't the muscular type dragon I saw in magazines and books, but he wasn't slim like me, either. He had the right muscles, and good-looking gold eyes. Swallowing yet again, I nodded at him. "Yeah. Never been this high up in the mountains before." The dragon was casually drinking something from a goblet.

"The sight never gets old, y'know? I like being here." He turned to me and stuck out a claw. "Nalketh Brimrain. I work here at the hangar."

"U-Uski." I gulped, trying so hard not to make any noises as I gripped his claw. His muscles were strong and I almost melted in just his claw alone. "A-Akiyama. Uski Akiyama. Student at DU."

He nodded as he picked up a goblet. "Anything you'd like?"

"H-Hot Chocolate?"

"Not a problem." He turned and began making the brew, and my eyes couldn't help but trail down his body. Sleek back muscles, beautiful wings and a strong, firm tail. His ass was pretty cute too, but I didn't get to view all of it as a knock next to me made me jump and squeak.

A tall - and I mean, tall - pearly white dragoness with sky blue eyes was standing in the entryway. She wore a professional business suit, which was a navy blue, and no shoes, like the recent two dragons I've met. Her spikes were the most unusual that I've seen. They looked like someone has stuck shards of crystals down her spine, and I found myself staring a bit too long. Taking a deep breath, I smiled politely at the tall dragoness, who in return said, "Mr. Akiyama, I presume?" I nodded and she smiled kindly as she looked down at the clipboard she was carrying.

"Y-Yes ma'am."

She laughed softly. "Please, call me Sephera Whitefrost, Madame Whitefrost, or even just Sephera. I am your counselor while you stay here at DU." Her tail gestured for me to follow her, and I looked back at the dragon, who gave me a smirk.

"Lucky you," He said as he handed me the goblet. "You get to have Whitefrost as your counselor." His smile faded a bit. "Just be careful, lil' guy." I was confused by his words, but shrugged it off as I took the goblet and followed the white dragoness.

She began leading me down the large hallways, which were large caverns that would be inside a dragon mountain. As we walked, she began talking. "Dragonscale Mountain has been here for centuries, dug during the 13th century after the dragon persecution in Europe. We've lived in solitude for hundreds of years until the late 19th Century when railroad miners were blowing through our caverns in hopes to create a path through the rockies. Of course, we fought the United States army and won, but soon came to a peace treaty, and helped the Americans build their passage way. You see, Dragonscale Mountain is not just a University; it's an entirely colony of dragons, both young and old, big and small.

"In the late 20th century we received our first furred students, and soon we were able to allow more and more furred students in, if they so desired. We opened recent classes that were meant for only dragons to other students in the last 50 years." Whitefrost explained as we moved through the great halls. To be honest, the place felt like an actual fantasy dragon's lair, with hallways built literally out of gems. Whitefrost seemed to take notice. "Ah, so you see the gem hallways, yes? They are the latest add-on in Dragonscale Mountain. All of the different departments are color-coded to help the students get around this labyrinth easier. After all, it was built by dragons." She laughed, and I gave a slight chuckle at the joke.

"So, when's orientation?" I asked curiously, looking up at the dragoness.

"Tomorrow. That'll give you enough time to settle in and get comfortable. Lucky for you, boys' dorm is the sapphire floor, and girls' is opal." She pulled a folder from her clipboard and handed it to me, smiling. "I hope you find everything you need. Is that all the luggage you brought?"

I nodded. "I was going to get settled in, then see how I can get more of my belongings here, seeing as how some of these courses are longer than others."

Whitefrost nodded. "Of course. You saw the jumbo jets, yes? We ship in and out, any day of the week, any hour." She gestured to his folder. "Your room number, room keycard, and a few information regarding Dragonscale mount, as well as a map, will be inside there. I would lead you to your room, but I need to finish up some paperwork for some transferring students. I trust you that you can find your way?"

I stared at her, wishing to say no, but instead I just nodded. "Sure I can. Oh! One question!" She turned towards me. "Who's my roommate?"

The dragoness smiled and said, "Most likely a fur. We try to avoid pairing furs with scales because most furs have been with their own kind longer than with scales." That honestly sounded racist, until she said, "However, if you wish to...experiment...with scales, you can change your room through me." She grinned slyly when she said 'experiment'.

We said goodbye, and the dragoness walked down a side hallway. I opened my folder and began looking through it, finding a bench to sit down. As I sorted through the papers, I found the map, and pulled it out, when a slip of paper fell out. Picking it up, I read over it, realizing it was interesting facts about dragons that most furs didn't know about. My eyes widened when I read one of those facts.

"Dragons are considered to have the highest sex drive among all species, not only making them antsy and protective, but extremely horny. Experiments show that only a few races can keep up with a dragon's sex drive during mating."

I glanced in the direction that Whitefrost went, my eyes narrowing slightly. Did she slip this in on purpose? I knew she was flirting with me. Shaking my head, I glanced down at the map. The place was so big, the map was on the front and back, covering the whole paper. There were no actual buildings in this mountain, and the different places were, as Whitefrost said, separated into different areas. I found the blue section, which was pretty big, and realized it wasn't that far from me. Getting up, I headed towards the blue area, excited for my first year in such a strange college.
